The thrilling new follow up to the new adult bestseller Me, Cinderella? by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Aubrey Rose!
Happily ever after is just what they say in books. Real life is MUCH more complicated.
Brynn can't believe her good luck. Her Cinderella story continues as she finds herself studying math in a castle on the edge of a Hungarian forest. However, no fairy tale lasts forever, and a letter about her mother's death opens up a whole new world of nightmares...
Eliot, finally back in Hungary, is haunted by the lie he told ten years ago to protect his family. Now he finds that he can no longer hide his dark past from Brynn, and time is running out to finish his life's work in mathematics.
The problem that neither one of them can solve is this:
Once broken, can two shattered lives ever be made whole again?
Aubrey Rose lives in sunny San Diego, where she likes to lay around in a hammock reading her favorite romances. When she’s not writing steamy stories, she can be found dancing naked in front of the mirror to Abba while her cat watches disdainfully.
“Once broken, can two shattered lives ever be made whole again?”
Broken Prince is one of those books where you are glad for the continuation of the story from characters that you have enjoyed in the past, but you feel that the author may have been struggling for ideas for a full book, so in essence has tried to throw the kitchen sink at it just to flesh it out.
The one thing that I find a little disappointing is the fact that the ideal part of the story that could have offered more depth and definitely should have been fleshed out more was Brynn's mother's murder, and the information she then discovered in Broken Prince about it. One minute there was the promise of all-sorts different scenarios, and directions that this could have gone, but in the next couple of chapters it was cleanly resolved without much explanation or further development. This can also be said for Eliot’s brother and his wife’s potential political problems, one minute there are riots and upheaval, and the next it all sort of fizzled out.
I also found that Brynn, who I really liked in Me, Cinderella, at points, became pretty unlikeable in this book. She seemed to lack the warmth and empathy that I liked about her in the first book, and came across as sneaky and quite calculating with regards to her need for money.
Eliot seemed to have more conversations with Brynn in his head, than he actually did with Brynn herself, and for about 70% of the book, they seemed content to pretend with each other that everything is “fine”.
I cannot lie; I had high expectations for Broken Prince, especially after enjoying Me, Cinderella? so much, and sadly it all fell a little short. Aubrey Rose has an extraordinary skill in how she delivers prose, and although this is still present at points, in Broken Prince, I didn’t get pulled in like I did before. I liked the end, even after all the grief and loss that came before it, I just wanted the happily ever after to come a little sooner, the sex (because it was written so beautifully in the first book) to be more plentiful, and the characters to spend more time conversing with each other.

I received and ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. This is a great story about heartbreak and moving on from a broken past. Brynn is trying to move forward after the hunter attacked her, trying to learn what really happened to her mother and loving Eliot. Eliot, after ten years is still trying to move past his wife’s death, that was not his fault. But he blames himself and it makes moving forward with Brynn hard to be happy. Will they be able to love and be loved if Brynn finds out what happened to her mother? Can Eliot move past the guilt to love Brynn? Aubrey Rose has a way of telling a story that will draw you in and make you hold your breath until the very end. I hope you will give Me, Cinderella? And Broken Prince a chance, they are both very good and Brynn & Eliot are well worth the read. I hope you enjoy it as I have.
I received and ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review so here we go. I honestly couldn't stop reading the book since i received it and i finished it in a day :). this book is great conclusion to Eliot and Brynn story were we see how there relationship has developed. I'm not going to put spoilers here. You just have to read it and see, but all i can say that if your going to read this book make sure you clear your schedule because Aubrey Rose sure knows how to keep you on edge :P.
Broken Prince Aubrey Rose. Review from Jeannie Zelos Book reviews. Well, I loved Me, Cinderella so was really excited to get to review the follow up. Broken Prince starts off with Brynn still living in the castle with Eliot. She's still recovering from the attack, has nightmares but Eliot has been a great back up and support to her. They're working on the Math problem too – all looks roses for the future doesn't it? Then she gets a letter from Mark about her mothers death. That was one of the reasons she came to Hungary to find out more and to visit her grave. The grave part is done but as for learning more about her murder – well that's been a dead end til now... Eliot – oh he's such a lovely man, thoughtful and caring, loves Brynn dearly but in giving her time to recover he makes her think maybe he's wishing she wasn't there. There's a huge lack of communication between them, he's wrapped up in the Math problem, she should be also but her recovery has taken precedence, and now learning more about the murder draws her further away. Mark has always been a close friend, but now he's dating someone she doesn't like and who doesn't like her, that avenue for confiding is gone, and in a strange country she's becoming more and more isolated. She ought to talk to Eliot about her fears and problems of course, that would be natural, but their relationship has been a strange and rocky journey and she's not really secure enough to do that. She's got so much on her mind, there's the murder of her mum, the illness that's threatening her grans health, the worries over the attack and of course the work for university she needs to get done. She feels she can't offload all that on Eliot though, she worries about being too demanding when he's under pressure from the university about his Paper, and clearly has old issues pressing on him. He worries that maybe she's decided their relationship is a mistake, regrets it, that the age gap is too much and he's upset. Instead of talking it over they both keep their fears inside and grow further apart. Then the press start dredging up old scandals, taking photos of Brynn while she's at the castle and making suggestions about Eliot's propriety, there's other secrets coming out but in dribs and drabs and of course that leads to misunderstanding, Eliot's brother Otto ( what an awful, supercilious man he is!) is in the Government at a time when its unpopular, and that rubs off on Eliot too. After 13 years there's another murder linked to her mothers one. Everything comes to a head at once, and Brynn's action – that made me tearful for her and for Eliot. Once again its a wonderful read, with disparate threads and actions slowly tying together to form a clearer picture. Brynn's unhappiness and insecurity shows through and I felt for her and yet, though she fears he's drawing away, its clear Eliot is still deeply in love and just trying to do what's best for her. A perfect love story, not a sexy, grand passion but a warm and sensual, enduring, slow burn romance, wrapped up in a series of slowly revealed mysteries from the past. Fabulous read and one for the keepers file! Stars: five ARC supplied via author
This fairy tales have there fair share of struggles and difficulties. This is the followup/conclusion to Me, Cinderella, and we get to see how Aubrey and Eliot find their way through the trials of maintaining a relationship when there are a lot of interfering circumstances. We ended book 1 with Aubrey and Eliot consummating their relationship after making it through a very dangerous situation; and with all the beauty of their intimacy, Aubrey still had some fears and trepidation of the events that happened to her, as well as the loss of her Mom and things in Eliot's past. There was some mystery and intrigue that was set up in book 1 that does come full circle in this edition, but it seemed to almost be an 'oh by the way' kind of conclusion that was wrapped up too conveniently. I was also a little taken aback with some of Aubrey's behavior and reactions in this edition, as she almost came across as being someone else, not the same endearing girl from book 1. I did not like the way she handled things with her dear friend Mark, and it seemed a little suspect how he recovered from their exchange so quickly and moved on.
Whenever I start a series, I always try to see it through, as I feel that it is only fair to get the complete story before you can truly experience the entirety of the tale; although the conclusion was a sweet HEA, for me some elements were missing to help me truly feel this couple, and root for their happiness. All in all, I really did not connect with this couple as much as I would have liked, and as much as I wanted to really like the story, it was just ok for me. I did really like the style and beauty of this authors writing, and hopefully I will have the opportunity to try another of her works in the future.
I was so looking forward to this sequel of Me, Cinderella and for the most part I was happy with the book. Although Brynn and Eliot have professed their love for each other, there are many conflicts for them to work through. Brynn with her mother's murder and Eliot with his late wife's death. Brynn becomes obsessed with finding any info that she can and as a result, she practically shuts Eliot out. Eliot in turn gives her space that he thinks she needs. I was frustrated with how they were both acting. I felt he was giving her too much space and Brynn was letting him. As a result, doubts and insecurities surface and both question the other's love. Now, we know life isn't always rainbows and unicorns but this went on the entire book. I would've liked a little more oomph somewhere in the middle. That being said, I did like the book! Aubrey does a good job of tying up all the loose ends. This book is not a standalone. Please read Me, Cinderella first then Broken Prince. You will be delighted with the story!
This book was given to me by the author for the express purpose of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.
I can't believe how much I FELT while reading this story!
Aubrey obviously did A LOT of research for this book in terms of the math Eliot and Brynn are studying. Her descriptions of scenery and people makes it so easy to envision what she had in mind when she was writing.
Me, Cinderella? and Broken Prince together made a truly wonderful story about two broken people who try to help fix each other.
great follow up to me cindrella. Brynn and Eliot are great together. Sometime I think they are too smart if that is possible. But in the end they win. Love the hea. great book and cant wait to read more from aubrey

This book carries on a few weeks from the last book and also carries om with lots of maths that helps get the point across, but loses anyone who does not understand a greater level of maths themselves.
Both characters, although definitely a couple now, hide secrets from the other that eventually come to light, and for a change they both react well and in an adult way.
They story is told from dual point of view again and closes off some open doors and gives us a few new characters into the mix.
Brynn gets more shocks and her answers found although, were they the answers she was actually wanting? Eliot too seems to finally figure himself out and, towards the end i find that his brother Otto is rather selfish with both him and Marta being a bit cut off for the working world around them.
The ending, although sad of Brynn's half is tear inducing and heart warming as Eliot is there from the moment he can.
The books are certainly with the read, but not something that i will be revisiting.
Alright, so sadly I didn't enjoy this book any more than I enjoyed book 1. At least I can say I tried but both characters just feel short for me. I'm sure other readers will like it though!

I'd like to think that the life of the prince and princess in fairy tales actually begins when the story ends. After they met and confessed their love and it said they live happily ever after. That's when my curiosity begins. I'm curious of what will happen next to Cinderella and the prince. Could they really accept each other despite of their differences? How do people around them affect their love and life? Can they forgive and forget their past? And so on and so forth. Broken Prince is that kind of story. Brynn and Eliot fall in love and have their happy ending at the end of Me Cinderella?. Now they journey begins.
Just like in prequel, I still liked the writing. Aubrey Rose can describe the setting well, very well I felt like I was with Brynn and Eliot struggling with their love in Hungary. I got the cold beautiful winter Budapest in book 1 but here the snow melted slowly and summer was about to begin. It's so beautiful reading the description both from Brynn and Eliot POV.
First part of the story felt so slowly. The insecurities, doubt and Brynn and Eliot inability to talk their feeling and fear made me wanted them to stop beat around the bush. But it didn't mean I was bored, not at all. Although it was slow, it still can draw me to read it. It was like I have to take it slowly and patiently to understand Brynn and Eliot better. And I did understand them better. So when second part of the story began, I felt like the pace changed, faster with so many things happened at the same time. In some part, I felt it was more depressing than previous book, but I think it’s understandable since their also tried to conquer their demons here, rather than just pursuit their happiness. And in other part, which I liked more, I can see the choices that Brynn and Eliot have and how it affected their life. I especially liked when they chose and set their priorities.
But there were also things I didn’t quite like because it felt too easily to be true. So I was kind of questioning it.
All in all, I liked it better than Me Cinderella?. And wish the author can create another story for them since I still want to know their life in another "castle".
I enjoyed reading Broken Prince, it was a book that I was anxiously waiting to read. From the beginning to the very end, I thought Aubrey Rose did a good job describing the growth of both characters and their ups and downs as a couple. I'm still amazed at how she mixes mathematics with romance all in one.
It's evident that both Brynn and Eliot love each other, but it's their pasts that comes to haunt them just when they thought that they had the perfect ending to their fairy-tale story. The story starts off with Eliot and Brynn getting into a fight, their struggle to hold things inside them and not letting them out is hurting them more than ever. They hide what is really happening to them just so that they don't end up hurting the other. Living in a castle with Eliot was a quite the adjustment for Brynn. After what happened to her, she feels scared and confused. But as the mystery of her death mother keeps haunting her, she is determined to find out what to her if she really wants a future with Eliot.
Moving back to Hungary hasn't been easy for Eliot, after been in exile for so many years the last thing he wants is to be known for the death of his wife. He still struggles to get past that and his career as a mathematician/professor is one of the things that he relies on to keep him from breaking apart. He truly loves Brynn, but when the secret that he is hiding from everyone weights on him is almost impossible to move forward with her and their future. Now he has to figure out how to break family bonds and be with the one he loves.
Broken Prince deals with more self growth than anything else, both characters have demons that have haunt them down to break and separate them. Aubrey Rose does a good job with the entire plot, I did wished there were more scenes in some parts, but overall it was a great read. What I liked about the book is that it gives readers both characters' insights. They mystery builds up as the story progressed and the ending by far was my favorite part of the book. The author ties everything well and it's all beautifully written that I didn't want the book to end! I highly recommend everyone to read the first book, (Me, Cinderella?) and this book as well. :)

After reading Me, Cinderella? in the new adult box set when it was available for sale I started snatching up all of Aubrey Rose’s books as fast as she released them. I had to wait a bit before she released Broken Prince though. As soon as I got the email notification that it was released I bought it. Sadly, I am just getting to it now because between the tours I do and all of the books I have bought, there was a lot to get through. It was worth the wait though.
This is such a sweet beautiful set of books. As we move into Broken Prince we find both Eliot and Brynn having to deal with their pasts. Brynn wants to know the truth behind her mother’s death and Eliot needs to resolve his feelings towards what happened with his wife and also let Brynn in on a secret from his past. It has been awhile since I read Me, Cinderella? but this felt like it picked up right where the first book left off.
I love that Brynn isn’t a wishy washy female lead. She is strong, she is brilliant, and she knows when she needs to handle things on her own. Eliot is kind of the same way, though he needs to lean on Brynn more (in my opinion, I won’t tell you if he did) because she needs to know about his past.
The writing is beautiful and makes me wonder about the author because of how well she knew the location setting. Do you ever do that? Get into a book where the story is set in a different country and you wonder if the author has been there or if their heritage is from that area because of how knowledgeable they are in their writing. Hungary isn’t the first place I think of when I think of locations to use in a book, but it is so perfect for this book. My knowledge of Hungary is limited to what was written in these two books and Aubrey made me feel like it is a beautiful country.
I loved Broken Prince as much as I adored Me, Cinderella? and I cannot wait to see what comes next from Aubrey Rose!
I went into reading Broken Prince with somewhat dread I admit. I didn't love Me, Cinderella? and found it at best, ok. However, when I review a book I like to be as honest as I can be, if that means brutal so be it, so I tried to read Broken Prince with an open mind - I'm glad I did.
Broken Prince follows on from the Cinderella like fairy tale, but no fairytale lasts forever right? I don't like reading books which are realistic. Life isn't all 'puppies and flowers, hearts and chocolates' and Broken Prince reiterated that.
We carry on with Brynn and Eliot in Hungary living their lives as best they can. Brynn is still a little bit of a mediocre character for me, I just can't warm to her. However, again Eliot saves the day. He is still struggling to deal with past events that effect him too much to wash them over.
This makes for an interesting love story, but not the happy unrealistic kind like the original Cinderella.
There is a lot to take in with this book I found but it kept me reading. I didn't find it a chore and at times admit, I enjoyed it. I felt Audrey Rose's writing style really showed through with this book, I felt like I was there, I wanted to know what would happen next and found it hard to put down even when I needed sleep.
I gave Broken Prince 4 stars. If you read Me, Cinderella? and found it lacking like I did with not enough information, give Broken Prince a try. I felt this book was enough to redeem Me, Cinderella. I am glad I read them together though, if I had read Me, Cinderella? and left a huge gap in between them I probably wouldn't have bothered with Broken Prince and would have missed out on a real gem! 4 Stars from me.

Really enjoyed this sequel to Me? Cinderella.
You would think Brynn and Eliot's relationship would be all hearts and flowers but they are both complicated and have loads of past issues that make their relationship really rocky. Bryann is finding out about her mother's murder and is stressing about sending her grandmother, the person who had brought her up enough money for her medicines to stop her having strokes. I life starts spiralling out of control and on top of these things, she thinks that Eliot has fallen out of love with her because he isn't around enough to console her. Eliot is still trying to keep his dead wife Clare in the past and in order to give his job at the academy, he has to finish his mathematical proof which he is finding really difficult. He too thinks that Bryann has fallen out of love with him because they both have too much going on.
Lots of drama in this book and i enjoyed every minute. Characters were great but as storyline goes, i wish there was a bit more story to Bryann mother's murder. It seemed like a complete mystery but i think it ended a bit abruptly. Overall though i loved it and it was a great to end this story.
Netgalley Arc Broken prince drew me in by the cover itself ......I found it very intriguing and alluring. After reading the blurb I was fascinated by the back story and the prelude that I missed reading so I quickly got Me Cinderella and dived right in. I haven't read any other Aubrey Rose books but this story has been a hauntingly beautiful journey and I can't adequately describe the way her words and style of writing make me feel. I totally related to the once upon a time theme a total disappointment in real life and many of us women out there. Disney has given us this hopeful outlook on love marriage and being a complete woman that we can't help but nurture throughout our years. This story just pulled at my heart strings, the broken characters the desperate and depressing situations and the tragic events. The math genius behind it was very unique and it is so amazing to see the live story take place in such normal daily situations for a normal studious struggling girl. I lived the last two stanzas concluding the story they will remain with me for a long time. The little quotes at the beginning of each chapter was woven so aptly through the story too.
I received this book through NetGalley in return for my honest feedback.
We pick up some time (although how much time is unclear) after "Me Cinderella?" ends. We are still in Hungary, only this time the chapters are shifting POV between Eliot and Brynn. Eliot is uncomfortable in his home of Budapest and people stare at him and whisper, a lot. We don't find out why for some time...and that's the big secret he is keeping from Brynn. Meanwhile Brynn has her own secret which she doesn't confess until after Eliot shares his.
There is no passion between these supposed lovers, let alone any communication. Brynn is angry but it doesn't seem to stem, solely, from what happened in "Cinderella", nor from her Mother's murder, which gets tied up in very unexpected manner. I guess I am frustrated because I think the story had some really good potential that just wasn't delivered on, for me at least.
Again the cover on this book is great! I love to follow a good series and thought that I would move forward with this one. Where Me, Cinderella? left off my interest was piqued enough to dive right into this one. I am so glad I did.
This installment gives us lots of back-story on Brynn and Eliot. We learn more about Brynn’s mother’s death and Eliot’s wife’s death. They are still doing math.
The romance in this book is lacking. I would have loved to see more to say the least. The emotions do run high in this addition and the characters seem to be working through their “baggage”.
This book is better than the first in the series. If you are looking for an emotional story that has little romance then this is the book for you. If you are a romance lover like myself, then I might choose something else.
Good ending, but I wanted more from the story & characters.
***Good enough: It was worth reading. Once. We liked it. It was good enough that we don’t regret reading it and would be willing to read others in the series.
Solid ending to the story, but I felt like chunks of the story were missing important details. Plus the hero & heroine have the weirdest communication issues. They love one another, but doubt their own love as well as each other's. Money and the student teacher relationship is barely touched upon. Why do we care if that mean girl's mom is a drunk?
Too many details made without reason, too much story left me wanting more, but Eliot & Brynn finally got their HEA.
Brynn has found her prince but what happens after "happily ever after"? Eliot is struggling with his math work and being back in Hungary. He is keeping secrets from Brynn, secrets that need to be revealed. Brynn is struggling to come to grips after the attack she suffered. Eliot is being sweet and supportive by giving her space. Brynn continues to work on finding more about her mom's death but will she be able to handle the truth? Will their love for each other be enough to weather all the trials and tribulations? Loved spending more time with Brynn and Eliot as they work through the realities of a relationship while dealing with their own demons.
This one had lots of romantic tension between two broken souls. Eliot’s past is coming back to haunt him the longer he stays in Hungary. When Brynn discovers his secrets pasted on the front page of a gossip column, she is crushed. That’s not the Eliot she knows. The characters in this story will tug your heart back and forth as they misunderstand, sacrifice and try to do what is best for each other…without knowing the secrets of their pasts which unlock the truth of what that is. I liked this story. It was a great follow up and conclusion to Me, Cinderella as it shows how Brynn’s fairy tale turns out.
So yea... I thought this was a stand-a-lone but um... it's a continuation of a story, and well I had no idea what was going on but I got the gist of it, "I don't want a savior. I don't want a...a protector!" Brynn said. "I just want you to love me." Eliot that boy knows when to give up a losing battle, "you told me not to come to her funeral," Eliot said, his hands sliding down to take mine once again. "I didn't know if you truly meant it, but I thought I'd rather not risk the wrath of a princess." The book was okay but I think I should have read the first one well...first.
the second book is no better than the first one. why aubrey had to leave eliot if aubrey felt in love with him, and she knew that eliot had the same feeling about her. if aubrey had to leave Hungaria to attend to her grandma funeral, at least she told eliot about her leaving. what if eliot had a problem in transferring school to States? What if Eliot couldn't make it to States after his presentation and couldn't chase after her? i think aubrey is full of drama queen. she definitely had a problem at communication.
Although there was bit of angst along the way, it was worth it in the end. There were times though I really wanted to smack the lead male character for comparing the lead female character to his late wife. It was a little insensitive. But in the end, true loves wins all. It just took this quy a little time to get his stuff together. The poor girl had to learn the grisly details of how her mother was killed. I feel the ending completed this series well. It was left in a good place.
I received a copy of this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I did not read the first book in this series and I think it is important to start with that one. While I did enjoy the story, I felt pretty lost for a while and it took a while for me to really get into the story. In the end I did enjoy Broken Prince but I think I would have liked it more if I had read the first book.
The ending to Brynn and Eliots story is truly amazing. This is not a typical romance novel. It feels real and you feel vulnerable. The turmoil in their lives is so much greater because of their own flaws. They both hold on to the past which interferes with their future. This series is hard to read because it's not a feel good story. It could easily be someone's life. Amazing and so worth the time and money.
A nice sequel to the Me, Cinderella ... this story reveals the back story behind the hurt prince ... but a few scenarios were left unexplored and unexplained ... and fizzled out without any subject matter - they did not build the story of the riot (could have been), the police hinting there was something more (but nothing happened) and a few other scenarios where things looked abrupt ... but the main storyline between the prince and Brynn was well done ...
This is the sequel to Me Cinderella. I was anticipating what happens next between Brynn and Eliot. I think I got lost in the translation. Brynn and Eliot seem to fuss a lot, but the constant flipping of POV lost my interest. I wanted to know what the big secret Brynn was hiding. But overall it wasn't for me.
Book two of Me Cinderella. This is the conclusion. If you want to know the ending you have to read book two. Its a bit more interesting. There is not a lot of sex but these two form a strong bond. It ends with the two living happily ever after.
This is the second book and should be read after reading Me,Cinderella. This is a true love story. I can't believe how much I felt when I read this story. It shows the ups and downs of their relationship and their individual struggles in a real life scenarios. Didn't want it to end. Loved it.
