I thought I’d already lost everything, but life has a way of proving you wrong
The moment I set my scuffed sneaker on Cadieux Island for College, my fate was sealed, but there’s no way I could have prepared for what was coming.
I should have run when I attracted the Morningstar’s attention, ruthless twins that lord over the elite school and everyone in it. I thought I could handle them, or at least survive them, but now it seems I might not live without them.
They demand my allegiance, loyalty and devotion, but I’m afraid I’ll lose so much more to them.
Four founding families, entrenched in secrets and deep-rooted history, are locked in a never-ending cycle for power and domination, and I just became the pawn everyone wants to use, or get rid of.
Welcome to Cadieux Island where the weak get slaughtered and only the strong survive.
Created in Chaos is the second book in the Corrupt Credence series. A dark college MFM romance told on duel POV with mature content for adult listeners.
Albany lives in Michigan where she's happily married to her high school sweetheart. She spends most of her time juggling her four children's extracurricular activities, with her nose stuck in a book. When not reading you can find her writing her very own book boyfriends. Albany's passion is writing romance with real characters that are far from perfect, but always seem to find their own happily ever afters.
There is just not a whole lot of plot to this book. And except for Lucian, there really isn't a lot of character development either. Poor Nox was just there.
As to the people involved in Nova's assault from the previous book, I don't understand why they would attack and almost kill Nova. It had nothing to do with the plot of the book
We also don't get any more real depth to the Secret Society™ and what they do other than they wear hooded robes and meet in the basement. *looks at you*
I'm still going to try book three and cross my fingers there will be something that will make it all make sense.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
So I was waiting for this book to come out and jumped on it on day 1. It was alright overall. I'm still not totally into the theme of this book, but it was nice to see the relationship progress amongst the three of them. I have to say the arguing and threats between Lucien and Nova gets old really fast. Like, it gets to a point of both eye rolling and speed reading through it since it's so plentiful and repetitive. I definately could have done without that dynamic. This book once again ends on a cliffhanger, and I've now got another three months to wait until the conclusion. I found this whole series so far too be somewhat subpar to this author's usual.I had to put the book down quite a bit just due to life and I didn't have any kind of driving force urging me to pick it back up. On the contrary, it was an easy book to put down and not really one I thought about during life breaks.
I was ready to see what would happen after the cliffhanger from book 1 and this book jumps right back into it. Our girl has been put through it but I’m so glad she has the Morningstar Twins! I really liked them both this book. Lucian finally grew on me. I think he grew/changed for her and i love that! Nox is still my favorite, we get a little more of him this book and it finally shows what’s been eating him. This book turns up there heat and boy was it spicy! I love how the three of them just work and I love everyone’s pov’s. Again after about 68% it kinda slows down and some parts kinda dragged out but it picks back up about 80% and grips you again, and gahhh! Another cliffhanger, these cliffys are gonna kill me they really pull me in wanting more. At this point i hate Astrid, and I’m on the fence about Alden. I’m off for the last book!
I think I enjoyed this more than the first. I honestly just really like the tension and the relationship with the three main characters. This was also a little darker than the first and there’s kind of a mystery running through. I find the secret society kind of fun and it’s keeping me intrigued. This was also more spicy than the first book, but the plot and character relationship development is the main thing.
Still enjoying this series. Some things are still a bit unclear and suspension of disbelief is fully in effect, but I'm ready to see how everything culminates in the end.
The 2nd book of this trilogy provided answers and gave even more questions. Nova, Nox and Lucian’s characters grew individually, as well as a unit. The story continues to evolve and engage. The complex storyline was well written. The ending has me anxiously awaiting the last book in the series.
She woke up in the hospital and had no idea where she was. She was reliving the nightmare of her parent's death all over again and she was terrified.
After Nova had been attacked at the college, she woke up in a hospital to find herself with the Morningstar brothers at her bedside. They were the ones who had been by her side all along. They were the ones who insisted on the best care for her. And they were determined to take her home with them. Her grandparents were no where to be seen.
This book begins right where Made in Malice left off, so if you haven't yet read that, GO DO IT NOW! Otherwise you will surely be lost! This book spends a lot of time focusing on the interpersonal relationships between Nova, Lucian, and Nox. We also get to see a lot more of the inner workings of the governing clan on the island and how decisions are made and how punishments are carried out.
But when Nox and Lucian don't agree with the decisions being made, they take things into their own hands, determined to find answers. They want to know who hurt Nova and why! They seek to exact their own revenge when the council doesn't rule in their favor.
Once Nova leaves the hospital, she goes back to Lucian and Nox's house, and that really angers her grandparents. There are rules about mixing families, and Nova just showed where her loyalties were by staying put and not going home.
The island becomes more and more dangerous. Who really is telling the truth about what happened? Why are there all the secrets and lies? What are they hiding? And which family will end up on top when all the dust settles?
Albany walker is a masterful storywriter, and I have loved the adventure this book has taken readers on! There is so much intrigue, and so many loose threads that need to be followed! I can't tell what is a red herring and what is a bread crumb, and it has been a while since a book has kept me enraptured as much as this one has! This book ends on a cliffy, and it is PAINFUL! UGH! The next book needs to get here QUICK!
This book was definitely more fast paced than book 1 considering the MCs were now more familiar with one another. We got some answers and some more questions. I'm interested in Nox's character being more fleshed out, so I hope that happens in book 3 4 stars
▪︎ academia romance ▪︎ secret society ▪︎ enemies to lovers ▪︎ forced proximity ▪︎ MINE ▪︎ RH/Why choose ▪︎ Slow burn
I picked up the first book completely at random, not really knowing what it was going to be about, other than it's a RH romance happening at some old Uni. So trust me when I say this, I was not expecting it to be this freaking good!
This series gives you everything: slow burn, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, mine, EVERYTHING!
The story is very compelling, it isn't a straight on smut, the plot is plotty and detailed. The romance is sooo gooood! They barely even kiss in the first book, but the tension! I ate this book up in less than a day, and jumped straight to the sequel which was equally good! I only wish the third book was already out!
Albany Walker never ceases to amaze me with her books. Every time I pick up one of her books, I devour it, and they're ones you can read over and over again. 5 stars for me. Can't wait to see what happens next
Am I nuts or is this series suppose to be a RH? Where is the harem? I really hope we’re not trying to bring in the rest at the 11th hour 🤦🏻♀️ I like this series plot wise but it’s super weird how they just keep removing/not talking about important characters for majority of the books, I really don’t know how they’re going to wrap all this up with one final book. It’s honestly giving me anxiety 😂 Nova is boring & Nox seems to just be……there. The chemistry I feel is really between her & Lucien 🤷🏻♀️ Final review at the end of the series.

Not much is really happening in this book. It felt like things were dragging to reach a certain mark. The first book started off good, I thought this was going to be a 3+ ML RH, but nope...just the twins, and one of them outshines the other.
The FL personality kinda dampened and becomes inconsistent, and the only thing that seems to stand out is her insecurities and need to seek validation. It becomes tiring and awkward. I felt like a fourth wheel😮💨
I like the FL in the beginning. She actually seemed like a young adult. She didn't have to check in with anybody. She lived alone, worked, and paid her own bills. I even found her quite relatable! But once she arrived at the island, it was giving high school. The ML was so immature that it was kinda cringe.
I thought Alden was one of the MLs, but nope! I was thinking to myself how good that will be to have someone grounded like him in the harem. Like, he saw how she lived, had a few light moments with her, and wanted the best for her new life. It sounded so interesting to have one humbled person in the harem amongst the rich MLs. But RIP to the idea, I thought this was going to be a Grumpy Bear x Sunshine. ♡♡♡♡♡♡
The sex scenes were too weak for me. All that talk but no bite. The build-up was okay, but I was cringing and couldn't make my way through their first sex scene. It wasn't giving these men had experience. There were barely any foreplay that included the 2 twins. It felt very awkward. There's a lot of dialogue and less action. The FL is really insecure, so she said some things that throws off the mood. I couldn't believe that this was the same FL from book one.
I also felt like more could've been done with the twin concept in this book. The twins said they come as a package deal.✨️IM ABOUT TO GET A LIL 18+✨️
All I see from this package is kissing and taking turns, it giving "each sold separately." While one of the twins is having sex with Nova, what tf is the other one doing? Just sitting there or sum? It's not written on what's happening in the background while the other 2 are having sex. You know u can have the other twin provide foreplay or sum DAMN😭 Prolly kissing up her neck, rubbing her "YES BUTTON" a little dirty talking, smacking, SOMETHINGG!
It felt very quick, like a "WHAM, BAM, THANK YOU MAM" type of sex.It was like they did it, because why not🤦🏾♀️ 4/10 with Spice ♡♡♡♡♡
I liked how the author described Lucians' sensuality. How wild his eyes seem, his lazy blinking, pierced staring and all that. I put a note down saying, "I will need Lucian to be placed in another book where his personality can really shine. He gives very much Yandere.
Anyway, I was crossing my fingers for this to be an entertaining ass series but gah leee, it felt like I was in the 50% for hours😭 I don't dislike it, but I don't like it. I'm wasting my time, and I'll rather much spend it on something else
This booked lacked a certain je ne sais quoi that the first book had, I found Created in chaos to be a bit meh in the drama department.
Yeah, the spice? Oh, it was spicing, thank you morally grey Gods for ramping that up because the sexual tension between these three was almost nuclear.
“Oh, lamb, I don’t know how I’m ever going to repay the devil for sending me such a sweet little slut, but I’ll find a way.”
& of course, both the Morningstar brothers were their usual charming and demanding selves, but I feel like this story was far too long for what the plot was. I wanted more nefarious schemes, diabolical machinations, and a whole Hell of a lot more malicious intent from Lucian… or anyone really… Honestly? Hand to Satan, if it wasn’t for the 🌶️🌶️ I think I can safely say I would’ve dnf’d the book, because this felt more like a chore rather than a luxury.
Personally I’m not asking for much for the last book, just a little less repetitive fluff and whatever all that useless nonsense was and more of everything stated above.
I normally love this author, but this book just gave me zero feels, and that was with me really reaching for them. Kept putting it down. The relationships are not loving or comforting at all, just a weird hot and cold deal with people who can't say nice things to each other. Lucian and Nova especially had a dynamic I didnt enjoy . I also hated the cliff hanger- like, come on now.
This is Book 2 in the Corrupt Credence series, following Nova's attack in book 1.
Spoilers!
In Book 1, towards the end of it, we discover that Lucien has a twin brother -Nox, that seemed to have been lost his sparkle or joy for living, after the death of their parents, but in actual fact he has no spark AT ALL.
Introducing Nox (the twin brother) is a good chance for the reader to observe Nova and Lucien's dynamic from afar, but he doesn't bring anything else to the book, he's just the third pov narrator. Also, the jump from one character's pov to another within a chapter, makes it hard to follow the flow of the story.
Actually, most of Book 2 is slow and boring... not much happens until the last few chapters.
The twins decide to keep Nova for themselves and she declares that it's her decision to stay with them, though they make it very clear that she has no choice and the only reason (as a reader) I could see for her staying, is because the closeness she has with Lucien.
The grandparents, who happen to be in charge of their cult at the time of the story, make no claim, no pressure for their granddaughter's return, and so Nova spends her time in the mansion with the boys... not doing anything apart from having some smutty moments and the constant banter between her and Lucien. And as much as the banter in Book 1 was lovely to read, even after it's pretty clear they're both into each other, they still do this continuous love/hate foreplay, which is boring and takes away from the build of the plot.
On top of it all, the twins share everything... but Nox's character doesn't have as much build up as Lucien's, so it's hard to see what Nova sees in him, apart from his nicer attitude.
In fact, the only character that stands out in the series is Lucien, who is true to himself all throughout the books, even when he starts seeing Nova as more than just the means to his evil plans, the affection he has for her, that's actually obsession, is true to his character build up.
Nova is plane Jane all the way. There's nothing that drew me towards her, she's so quiet, undecided, easily influenced, she has no spine; though she's all about not hurting others, when Lucien kills the students that beat her, she just goes along with it and feels "calmness."
There's also no claim for true justice in this book, because the twins, and all the founders for that matter, have this strong belief that they can do whatever they want and nobody will question their actions, because they have the money. It seems so far fetched and unrealistic, as if they live on a different dimension, where there's no police, no consequences for their actions.
The fact that it dragged on so much in the first 20 chapters, I couldn't wait to finish the book and I'm no longer interested in reading the third. To me it felt like it went from bad to worse, this series. Maybe if it will ever be free, I'll sneak a peek.

The story continues on for Nova, Lucian, and Nox. Not much is revealed in this book except who attacked Nova in the library and later the bathroom. Their relationship advances, but little character development or plot happens in this book. There are a few spicy scenes but honestly they lack emotion and detail. Almost like they had to be there, but the author didn’t care about them. Plus they were short.
Spoilers******
Nova wakes up in the hospital after her attack from book one, with limited memory. She has bruises and broken ribs and a concussion with brain bleeds, but miraculously leaves the hospital days later and her injuries are never mentioned again. She moves in with the Morningstar’s. Relationship with the twins progress, but it honestly feels like Nox is just a character filler so this could be considered an RH, as the book is more about her interactions and feelings towards Lucian and how him and Nox are a packaged deal. I want more with Nox. Alden shows up for a cameo scene where it almost seems like he cares about her, but is on the Umbras side. Lucian declares that Alden should be killed for trespassing which is apparently a rule and way harsh, but Alden mysteriously escapes. They learn that Grace along with seven of her friends are the ones who attacked/organized the attack in the library and the bathroom. Lucian’s response is to kill her, and then the others in a boat fire. While Nova takes some time to come to grips with this her grandmother calls her and blackmails her with the twins’ wealth and safety to get Nova to come back home. She does and Lucian thinks she played him all along.
So, this book followed in the steps of the previous one, in that there isn't a clear story going on. Not much of anything really went on. I did like that at least more happened in this one than the last one, at least.
I keep hoping to get more information as to this "secret society" such as what they do and why they exist at all. The premise of them so far is just so thin, that it is pretty much unbelievable at this point.
I did like to see the building relationship between the three of them. It was good to see at least one character grow, too. Lucien did seem to grow. Nox, we were told he did, but it wasn't really something we experienced since we never really knew what he was like before Nova just seemed to become more comfortable with the lengths they go to in order to take care of her.
One thing I don't understand is that they all knew a relationship was forbidden, yet they all did it anyway, and it came as a big shock and such a big deal at the end when Astrid threatened them with revealing it. It just didn't see like such a threat when they were getting together, but then all of a sudden it is.
I just wish there was more substance to these books. There is such potential, yet I can't' really get into things because the author doesn't really allow it. I will continue to the last book to finish the story, but I don't expect there to be a huge change from how th first two started.
If Made in Malice hooked me, Created in Chaos straight-up dragged me through the fire. Albany Walker builds a world where loyalty is paper thin, betrayal is practically currency, and every single relationship feels like it could explode at any second. You’re constantly asking: who can be trusted, who’s lying, and who’s two steps away from burning it all down? Spoiler: you’ll never actually know, and that’s what makes it so addictive.
This sequel doubles down on everything: the power games are sharper, the risks higher, and the characters? Deliciously complicated. They’re flawed, raw, and forced to navigate impossible choices between desire, duty, and survival. The tension isn’t just physical — it’s emotional and psychological too. Every interaction is laced with suspicion, attraction, and the kind of chemistry that makes you yell at your headphones.
The audiobook narration only adds fuel to the fire. Every pause and inflection makes the danger feel closer and the emotions hit harder. Pausing wasn’t even an option — I inhaled this in one sitting like a complete chaos junkie.
So yeah, I’m wrecked. And instead of taking a breather like a reasonable human, I’m already diving headfirst into the last book of the series. Albany Walker, you don’t just write stories — you orchestrate emotional demolition, and I keep showing up with front-row tickets.
🌟🌟🌟🌟 4 Stars for Created in Chaos by Albany Walker!
This book picks up right where the last one left off, so if you're expecting a slow and gentle catch-up, ha! No, sweetie—Albany Walker said, “strap in (or… don’t 😏)” and hit the gas.
Lucian, Nox, and Nova are still locked in their hot little triangle of tension—a delicious mix of sass, snark, and subtle “accidental” touches that scream enemies to lovers, or in this case, “enemies to hot mess to oh my God finally.”
Let’s talk about this secret society. Creepy. Cult-y. Corrupt. The whole vibe is “stepford smirks with blood contracts,” and I loved every spine-tingly second of watching the trio try to unravel it while also resisting (and then not resisting) each other.
And yes, friends, they finally combust. The slow burn is OVER, and let me tell you—the spice level went from “flirty campfire” to fire hazard real quick.
Why 4 stars? I wanted just a smidge more clarity in the chaos. But honestly? I devoured this like the drama-glutton I am.
If you're into steamy banter, deliciously dark secret societies, and characters who can't decide whether to stab or kiss each other—this is your jam.
Bring on the next book, Albany. I’m ready for more chaos. 🔥
I'm gonna need so much strenght to read the last book. This was a mess. The attack against Nova at the end of the first book? A girl - we see 5 seconds in the first book - and her friends, because she was jealous. That's it. No link to the plot. Lucian killed them all because he can. The book is 98% Nova, Lucian and Now in their house. She goes to college one day. She doesn't seem to care. Lucian and her fight and fight, toxic relationship 1000%. No character development at all for them. And it's maddening clear how much more she is into Lucian than she is into Nox. Nox is just there. The character has no depth. Everybody and their mother could have guessed the cliffhanger. Nova is still very dumb. And it's clear how Nova's grand father is going to betray his wife and it's going to be very dramatic with her yelling "you wouldn't be where you are if it wasn't for meeeee" and he'll be like "you killed our daughter I won't let you take Novaaaaa" and she'll die, probably by his hands.
Also, that secret society is so fucking duuuuuumb. Nova is able to sneak into one of the meetings without any worry. You just need a cloak and you're good to go.
still really into the story, but not sure where the plot is going

Did I enjoy the book? Yes Would I read this book again? Maybe Will I continue the series? Yes Will I read from this author again? Yes
So this whole book is Nova in a bubble with the twins on Morningstar property. We never hear of her job again. Don’t know what happened with that or why any of those characters mattered. Or who the woman was that spoke to her in the parking lot. She never really goes back to school and then school is over after an “accident” happens. There are some time jumps where all of a sudden Nova is all recovered and it doesn’t really state that, just that several weeks have passed. Another cliffhanger ending that made me dive into book 3. Some of the spice was eh. The whole spitting in the mouth and swallowing is just gross. Like so so gross. I just did not need that in there.
Psycho, possessive brother. Check. “Sweet” brother with a darker side. Check. Both absolutely obsessed with Nova and willing to do ANYTHING for her. Check! This book leaves off right where book 1 ended. Do not read unless you read the first book. After Nova ends up in the hospital, the Morningstar brothers are determined to find out who attacked her, all while trying to dismantle the hierarchy, starting at the top with the Umbras. The first half of the book was a little slow for me. Although, there was a lot of sexy times making up for the slower plot. It ramped up the last half. Secrets were uncovered. Manipulations, murder, and retribution were abundant. Nova is finally starting to accept she has people who care about her, and that’s all she truly wants. Of course, there is another cliffhanger at the end. Without giving it away, Nova is forced to make a tough decision. But after spending so much time with the Morningstar brothers, I have a feeling she’s going to become more like them than she ever thought.
This book is all sorts of twisted and unrealistic. I should have so many questions; I should be disturbed by peoples actions and thought patterns, but instead the author pulled me in. They created characters and a world where I'm not even thinking about all these realistic issues because I'm fully buying into who they are and what they want in life.
These men are twisted, dark and some could even say evil. But they are also fiercely loyal, brutally honest and so determined to keep Nova safe that I could happily turn a blind eye to all of the fucked up stuff that comes along with their good side.
They are broken puzzles; the three of them. They are all lost and scared and truly just need someone to love them. Yes the boys had each other but they had their walls up and I don't think until they found her, that they truly could see they had each other all along.
Watching them heal has my heart so happy and I mean like I understand I should be losing sleep over setting boats on fire and killing people but instead I'm crying thinking about them giving Nova the straw bag.
After the heart-stopping cliffhanger in book 1, I was eagerly anticipating how the story would unfold in book 2. And it did not disappoint - from the very first page, we are thrown back into the intense action alongside our protagonist. Despite all she has endured, she is fortunate to have the Morningstar Twins by her side, whose loyalty and strength shine through even more in this installment. Personally, I found myself growing fonder of both Lucian and Nox as their characters develop and deepen, particularly Lucian who finally won me over with his unwavering support and understanding for our main character. Nox, however, remains my favorite with his brooding and mysterious demeanor, and we finally get some insight into the weight that has been weighing on him. As the romantic tension between these three characters intensifies, I found myself unable to put the book down as I turned page after page to see what would happen next. The story is skillfully told from all three perspectives, giving us a well-rounded view of their thoughts and emotions.

I've been desperate for this release and to know what would happen next ever since I finished Made in Malice, which ends on a killer of a cliffhanger. Created in Chaos definitely didn't disappoint. It picks up right where the first book left off. It has everything I love in my romances - mystery and intrigue, steamy scenes and a lot of angst. We also get a ton of time on page with Nova, Lucien and Nox and my favorite scenes are seeing how protective and possessive they are for her. I love a hero that knows what they want and doesn't hesitate to go after it and with this series we get two of them! There is so much intrigue with the mysterious Cadieux Creed, that those raised on the island seem to understand, but Nova still is so much in the dark on. Created in Chaos will also leave you desperate for more- and I can't wait now for the release of Honed in Havoc.
Created In Chaos is the second fantastic book in the Corrupt Credence Series. It is a ménage, academy, dark romance with a secret society, betrayal, possessive identical twins, morally grey characters, steaminess, and unaliving. I will warn you, this series is addictive!
I am absolutely loving this series! I’ve been hooked on the characters and storyline from the start. I loved the character development, relationship development, and steam that this book brings. I have fallen in love with Nova, Nox, and yes, even Lucien, and definitely love the twins obsessive and possessive ways and the lengths they’ll go to to keep Nova safe.
The writing, flow, pace, storyline, storytelling, characters, character development, and world building are all incredibly done. I would highly recommend this book and series. It does end with a doozy of a cliffhanger that left me very excited for book 3.
I have been pleasantly surprised by how much I have enjoyed this series. I have to be honest, I didn’t have high hopes. So they were blown out of the water. The suspense is just the right amount of “wtf is happening” to keep me interested without being frustrating. The main characters are intriguing and entertaining We DO get a bit more face time with Lucien than Nox, but I don’t at all feel like he’s the neglected or unwanted stepchild, or third wheel that some reviewers have called him. I think his personality pushes him to the forefront more and since he clashes with Nova frequently, we see that most often.
The cliffy had me yelling. I can’t wait to see how things wrap up, and there better be some burning the island to the ground coming up!
Created in Chaos creates more questions than answers and leaves us in a trail of mystery and intrigue.
Book two picks up right where the first left off…and we see the Morningstar twins watching Nova zoom off in an ambulance. I love how protective they get, plus I’m in love with their psychopathic tendencies. The ever growing relationship between Nova, Nox, and Lucien is a sight to behold and I liked delving deeper into the twins.
The author teases us with more information about the island and the families, which leaves us wanting more. The twists, the turns, the dark and delicious all have me on the edge for the next book
It took me too long to finish this book, because by 70% I was soooo bored. Yes it was fast paced, yes, there was action, banter between Nova and Lucian, but it was so repetitive and shallow. I really wanted this to be something more, but it isn't. This second one answered some questions, then again brought all the more new ones. And the characters..Nova... the lamb as Lucian call her, just seems to me more like a sheep now. Just think a little girl it won't hurt. Lucian is borderline toxic, Nox I really like, can't say anything bad, except maybe the author should focus more on his story and character. So that's it, I will read the next one, but I am more reserved now
Okay so my feelings for the Morningstar’s just kept growing with this book & then how badly I felt for Nova with everything being thrown at her made me grit my teeth.
I hate that she was put in this situation where she has to protect them & then hearing what Lucien said at the end would be heartbreaking too.
But when she said ‘unless I get rid of her first’ at the very end….girrrllll you better do it! I no likey your grandparents especially Astrid.
I’m mad now that I have to wait because I wanna see this retribution from Nova & I wanna see that HEA for her & the guys.
