This third edition of a mid-to-high-level psychology text includes updated in-review boxes and features on linkages and thinking critically, and the linkage programme has been revised and streamlined for easier use. A new chapter on research methods provides an overview of the various ways in which psychologists study data, and establishes the research foundation for the remainder of the text. It illustrates the steps taken in evaluating a research issue and introduces critical thinking.
It is great book about the psychology overall. I never knew that there are so many branches, that psychology is more about the science (even though it is not science, I agree). I rented this book from UofT Bookstore, but then I purchased it for damn high price. But I love it. I read it 3 times (because I had to prepare for my exam, but let's assume it is not the case) and totally obsessed with this book how precise the topics are, how interesting examples provided in each topic!
I enjoyed this class but it was a busy season in my life and I felt like the book moved very quickly. I did not appreciate the 'study' questions because they were presumptuous and did not offer concrete data to pull from. I would have preferred to take this class in a brick and mortar classroom where more difficult matters could be discussed at length.
This textbook bounces around simple points and gives endless examples for simple concepts, making the chapters long and difficult to conquer while studying. This textbook is saved by the corresponding study guide.
