Emma Reese talents blended sadness with the loss of his wife with the joy of having two beautiful daughters he is raising. Owen happens to meet a long lost best friend on his way to vacation with his girls. Coincidence has it that Skye & family are vacationing at the same resort. They reconnect & he let's her know that he has loved her since their teenage years. And their love story & journey begins. Good read.
Started good. Then snowballed into super quick dreamy love. I mean, I might fall in love and get engaged in 2 weeks to a handsome billionaire too. Ya never know.

Skye is excited to go to Switzerland with her family for two weeks over the Christmas holiday. Skye is a type A personality who has to make sure everyone is packed and will make it on time for the flight. Her family is strewn across the country but she always makes sure that everyone gets to the destination on time. Skye got an email from her boss about a meeting when she is supposed to be leaving for the airport. During the meeting she is pacing around and when her boss opens the meeting to questions she tells him that she needs to leave for the airport or she might miss her flight. Luckily Skye had everything in her office so she got to the airport but she didn’t realize how long the lines would be. Even the priority line was long. Standing there waiting in line Skye hears her name called. She turns to see a very handsome man, an older woman and two young girls. Owen is a producer who lives in New York. He has two daughters Laila who is 6 and Cora who is three. His wife Rachel died when Cora was 9 months old from cancer. Owen is a billionaire and he has a nanny for his daughters and he has staff to help him. Owen lived next door to Skye growing up and he spent a lot of time at her house because the living situation in his house wasn’t good. Both Owen and Skye have changed in the twenty years since they saw each other last. One thing hasn’t changed, Owen had a crush on Skye and he always believed that she was the one that got away. It turns out that Owen, Laila, Cora and Beth the nanny are going to Switzerland for the holidays also. They end up being in Chalets that are right next door. Skye is interested in Owen but she doesn’t think he is ready for a relationship. Owen is still interested in Skye but she said she doesn’t want to be in a relationship now. Owen takes Laila and Cora for a ski lesson and Cora takes off down the hill and the ski instructor is telling Owen to let her learn to listen instead of just doing. Owen went after her and she was scared and crying, he took Cora and Laila back in to the lodge where he sees Skye chatting with her nieces and nephews. Immediately Skye comes over to check on Cora. Skye is going to take her nieces and nephews out to teach them to ski and asked if she can take Laila with them. On Christmas Eve Owen and Skye stay with the kids while they watch a movie and the adults wrapped presents. When the kids fell asleep Owen and Skye went to her room where Owen tells Skye that he hasn’t been with anyone since his wife died. Owen desperately wants to be with Skye and they were kissing when they were interrupted by Cora. It wasn’t until after Christmas that Owen and Skye were able to get together without being interrupted. Before the vacation is through Owen and Skye become engaged. Will Skye be a good mom to Laila and Cora? Will Owen, Skye, Laila and Cora make a happy family together? Will Owen and Skye find love and happiness in Switzerland and have a second chance at love? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Mm I guess it depends where your maturity level is and what you want from this book. If you like middle school antics when it comes to “feelings” in adults who are 40+, and a ho-hum, sweet and uncomplicated story, then this is it for you.
The book blurb is NOTHING like the actual story. There’s no blizzard, barely any heat, they aren’t secluded, being surrounded by 16 of their family members collectively.
It’s sweet and there are no issues that arise. Megarich producer and widower Owen, reconnects by chance with his childhood best friend/crush twenty years later on the way to a Christmas vacation in Switzerland. Skye, is single and a workaholic, she is anal to the nth degree, harping on her family to make sure they’re ready for vacation from long distance. Owen has two girls, 5 and 3, a wife who died from cancer 3 years ago, and he’s never considered moving on. But as soon as they see each other they fall back into their friendship and Owen realizes he’s loved her all along. Now Skye is attracted to him (now that he’s rich and handsome🤔) even though she admits she would have hated if he confessed feelings when they were younger.
There’s a lot of make believe scenarios, Skye teaching 4 children under the age of 5 to ski by herself🤨 or Owen just being ready to commit no holding back after 2 weeks. Skye doing the same. It was a lot of little kid fairy tale-esque stuff going on.
Then there’s the fact that any time anyone asked them about their feelings for each other they both adamantly deny anything going on even though they already almost had sex after like three days it seemed. It was so immature! How hard is it to say, you guys haven’t discussed it but you like him!? I mean so childish that Skye kept denying and saying they were just friends and that the kiss was meaningless.🙄🙄🙄
A couple of typos. And just too simple of a story for my likes.
The perfect accompaniment to the wintery, Christmassy atmosphere, Emma Reese's latest novel is a heart-warming second chance story. Skye Harris, who always plans everything with precision, is the one who almost misses her long-awaited family holiday in Switzerland. But at the airport, she has an unexpected encounter: her childhood neighbour Owen Anderson, now a single father, is travelling with his two daughters and their nanny.
There has always been something between Owen and Skye, but in 20 years they have both changed – but one thing has remained constant: Owen's feelings for Skye. When it turns out that they are staying in the cabin next door in a ski resort, their destinies are intertwined once again. But the two protagonists have to deal not only with each other, but also with the challenges of their own lives: Owen carries the burden of fatherhood and grief, while Skye sees her primary goal as building her career.
The story is made really charming by the children, especially Owen's two little girls, Laila and Cora, who enchant the reader in every scene. And Skye's family are never misses a chance to help bring the two childhood friends closer together again – sometimes a little too enthusiastically.
The book's strength lies in its atmosphere: snow-covered mountains, skiing and festive moments are guaranteed to make the reader want to grab a mug of hot chocolate and a warm blanket. What was a little disturbing, however, was the way Skye and Owen's relationship developed too quickly – even though they knew each other for a long time, the long time apart would have made a more gradual, deeper rebuilding more believable.
Overall, a pleasant, light-hearted story that, while not Emma Reese's strongest book, may still be a good choice for fans of cozy winter romances.
I loved this story so much and as a first tine reader of this author I’m stoked I found her and this story, she will be one I’ll definitely read again. Now let’s Taki and Skye and Owen, these 2 are sweetness personified!
As childhood best friends Owen and Skye were always together, playing, dinners, school homework, but then they went their separate ways.... fast forward many years, Skye is preparing for her annual winter holiday in Switzerland with her family, when at the airport she comes face to face with her past! Then right in front of her is Owen, the best boy-friend she ever had, along with 2 darling daughters, what are the chances they were also heading to Switzerland?
Owen cannot believe his eyes when he sees Skye again for the first time in many years. He always loved her but it was never reciprocated, now he’s been married and has 2 gorgeous girls, Taila and Cora. Discovering she is staying in the chalet next to him, he sets a plan in motion to win her back, but first he must explain his past. Owen and Skye develop a very sweet relationship based on their earlier lives, Owen ,losing his wife meant he didn’t have to hold back, it his children play a huge role in his thoughts and choices, but deep down Owen has always known Skye is his second chance at Forever, and while she has questions, he intends to have all the right answers!
I’d love to read more about Skye and Owen...heir relationship is 💯% goals! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
"Last night was the only gift I need, and you promised me that we weren't done."
I really loved the 'Small Town Secrets' series, finishing the final of five books.
I like stories about two people who grew up together, reuniting at different times in their lives. I also like single dads/moms and blended families.
With this story, despite their best efforts, Skye and Owen didn't get a moment alone when they first arrived in the Alps. There was far too much going on with all these families almost living under one roof. Between the gifts, the meals, the snowmen, and the games, it seemed like the entire day was packed, looking forward to the next day when the excitement had worn off a bit.
Even though they had no big plans for the day, what was Owen and the girls up to for day? Intruding on their Christmas tradition wasn't going to happen. As it turns out, Owen's family traditions may not be anything elaborate or intracate, but it was special to the girls, and it must be special to him. When you love someone, you do anything to make them happy.
Of course, in the end of this story, it is a happy ending.
I'm taking a break from Kindle reading for a while, and opening up the books I have ordered. Enjoy and happy reading everyone.
Owen is a widowed father of 2 young daughters. Skye is single work is her life. At Christmas every year her whole family takes a vacation together for 2 weeks. They decide to go all out on a ski trip to Switzerland. They see each other in the airport and turns out they are childhood friends, he always had feelings for her but never told her and they drifter apart with different friends. They find out they are staying in chalets right next to each other. Owen realizes his feelings for her never went away and his promise to his wife not to live his life alone, she wanted him to be happy and someone to love their girls. Skye remembers all their times together and wants to know the man he is now and the attraction is strong. They have to navigate their feelings, her family and his children. I loved this book because it was a friends to lovers story where the two leads were honest and open with each other, no secrets or 3rd act breakup. Lovely read especially at Christmas time.
This honestly was just very boring to me and was set up in a weird way. And I also feel like in some parts this book contradicted itself by saying something but then saying something different when it was brought up again. I’m not a whole fan of the whole deceased wife thing anyway, but I feel like he was still trying to get over his wife’s death and then all of a sudden he was all over Skye. I just didn’t get the chemistry between them they literally haven’t seen eachother for over twenty years, but then he tries to say he’s been lusting after her since he was five? I feel like that is so not right to the wife he said he loved???? Also can we just talk about how her family literally treated her like the forgotten child? They are all grown adults who would not only make their sister do everything for them like, but they also literally all left and had her do the dishes and had her teach all the kids how to ski while she had fun. Honestly that just made me mad.
He's a single father who is taking care of two small children. When Skye bumped into him at the airport, she had no idea that it would end up changing her life. They are childhood friends, but he secretly had feelings for Skye but didn't act on them. Now they are on vacation in the same place and living right next to each other just like they did growing up. Has fate given Owen his second opportunity to get his girl and will int lead him to happiness with Skye. This story ad me in their corner to get their chance for happiness.

Absolutely fantastic book Skye was going with her family in a Christmas vacation in Switzerland in a resort for two weeks. She was single, and she wanted to be,because she gave up on love. When she arrived in the airport near the gate she saw an old neighbor friend that she grew up with. Owen was a widower for a few years and had 2 young girls.on Christmas he used to go on vacations somewhere just to forget his lost wife. When he saw Skye his heart started beating again because he was in love with her from forever. This book must to be read from all romance readers I’ll recommend it because while you read it ,you will live it like your own story.🥰
I truly loved this love story. Situated in NYC and Switzerland just imagining the sights, the fun and the resort was something else. It all seemed so beautiful. Skye and Owen both planned a family Christmas vacation at exactly the same resort not even knowing about other being there. They had grown up next door to each other been best friends for years until they grew apart. Accidentally meeting at the airport for their vacations. Their residence at the resort made them neighbors again. Read how their lives changed after their separation. They all had so much fun! It's really a very good book. Written by Cindy :)
Owen and Skye’s story was sweet and definitely steamy in parts. It was a sweet and quick love story where the male fell first. Friendships have a way of bringing people together in different ways and their friendship, even though they became distant at a point in time and lost contact, truly shows their depth of feelings. Love a great strong female lead, which Skye was 110%!! In parts it was too fast and in parts it was too long, but a good story nevertheless.
This was a good book with a good storyline and good characters. So why just 2.75 stars? Well it was missing that spark, that extra something that connects you to the characters, that something special that pulls you into the story itself. Honestly it seemed drawn out and drug on. I wish I could pin point why this didn't grab me or why these characters was just ok but I can't. Long read that just was missing something!✌
This was a feel good book. It was easy and quick read. Two best friends unite after 20 years apart and a whole life after. Owen and Skye used to be best friends but they ventured in life and family of their own. When they meet at ski resort, their friendship just continues and the love that was their flourishes. Loved the family encouragement and the fun banter between them all. No drama just fun and love with some spice.
This was like a cosy hallmark movie in a book, I loved it! It was so sweet and wholesome and you couldn’t help but root for Skye and Owen.
I’m calling this a second chance romance as Owen loved Skye before, it’s also friends to lovers too!! Owen is a widowed single dad to 2 young girls who are so cute and adorable and their relationship with Skye is amazing. I loved reading Skye and Owen reconnect and the spice was just perfect for this book!
I enjoyed this friendship of Owen and Skye meeting after so many years at the great ski resort they both happened to choose for a Christmas vacation. They found love after so many years living apart. What a wonderful love story with the happy ever after we love to read. Cheers to the author.
All because of a meeting she was able to reconnect with someone that was close to her when she was younger. What a vacation they all had, 2 different families in the beginning. I love how hands on he is even with having a nanny for the girls. I look forward to what the future holds for them.

The story of Owen and Skye is one of the sweetest stories from beginning to end,. Just imagining the Swiss setting as their love grows is special. Skye's family are a fun supporting cast and add to the love story. Life's unexpected surprises made this book special! Loved it.
This was the first book I’ve read by this author and I absolutely adored it. The story and characters were beautiful, and the authors amazing writing had me wanting more of Owen, Skye, Laila and Cora. I’ll definitely be looking for more books from this author.
I saw someone recommending this book so I went for it… it was a mistake. It was so boring, couldn’t connect with the characters, there was no depth and it was poorly written. I powered through thinking maybe when the he spice came it would be worth it… another mistake. I was extremely bored the entire book.
I highly recommend Snowed in with the Single Dad book. Between the sexy single dad Owen, being snowed in a cabin and the fireplace you will find yourself getting HOT. The entire book is wonderfully written and Skye as well as Owen's characters have you intrigued. I also love the cover of the book and it really makes the book come full circle. Great Book by a Great Author.
Do you believe in fate? When Skye was running late to catch her plane for her family Christmas vacation she had no idea her life was about to change. Standing in the security line the man behind her calls her by name. It none other than her neighbor she went all through school with. Boy had he changed! Can they renew a friendship after 20 years? Let’s see.
This was a lovely book to read! Childhood best friends reconnecting it was such a beautifully written story, I love how much Owen was such a devoted dad. It had some great spicy scenes in it, overall a cute Christmas read that I would recommend !

She is about to be snowed in with him and life may just turn even better when he sinks to his knee to ask a very important question. How will she answer? Will it be all they want? See just how they will get on
Wow, this was such fun. What a great Christmas read. I had such fun and I wasn't expecting it. I totally want to see the Swiss alps now, lol. But it read it enjoy it and then grab her other books too
Emma was a new author to me! This book was amazing. It was hard to put down. I would read more of Emma's book. I loved the characters. I loved the storyline. I would give it a hundred stars if I could. AWESOME BOOK!
