Switch and Score is not a book that I ever would have picked up on my own. The reason I decided to read this hockey romance that is tucked into a much longer series is because another series, Give a Bookish Girl a Biker, was entirely inspired by this slim little novel. Here we meet Chantelle, the lone female biker in the group of biker bros about whom the aforementioned series is about. We are introduced to the entire group through Chantelle’s story. And she was such a charming character in the first book in that series, The Backpack Bride, that I knew I needed to read her story. I’m glad that I did, because her love story is a really fun one.
Jude is a professional figure skater, and he’s very good at his job. It’s incredibly demanding, leaving little room for relationships outside of those he had with his family. His identical twin, Joel, is a hockey player for the Denver Dragons. When Joel suffers an injury that could cost him his chance at the pros, and impact his ability to help pay for their mom’s cancer treatments, he convinces Jude to pose as him for a few weeks. But Jude isn’t a hockey player. He might be good on the ice, but he’s definitely not his brother when it comes to the game. Against his better judgment, he agrees to the plan. He manages to fool his new teammates and his coach. But not the coach’s daughter…
Chantelle, daughter of the Dragons’ coach and our female lead, is living a double life. Her parents believe that she’s commuting to college everyday, working diligently to become a sport journalist. Instead, she has secretly become a popular indie romance author, dropping out of her classes for more writing time when she sees that she’s already a success with her debut biker romance and determines to make it a series.
She also has self-diagnosed OCD severe enough to be seeking a doctor’s diagnosis. It is this obsessive attention to small details that leads her to discover that Jude is pretending to be Joel on the ice. They go through a definite little enemy phase—especially considering the secrets each is holding over the other—but even when they’re taking jabs at each other, the sparks fly. They go from enemies to more fairly quickly. Perhaps too quickly to be wholly believable. But as this book is a scant 280 pages, the author didn’t have a lot of room to work with.
I enjoyed this. I’m not suddenly a sports romance convert, and I have no real desire to read the rest of the series, but I’m glad to have read Chantelle’s story. And now, back to the spinoff series about her biker friends!

“Enemies to lovers is great for fiction, sure. Real life guys like Jude lack the capacity for the lovers part of that trope, unfortunately. Because they’re not cute. They’re really and truly annoying.”
Jude and Chantelle have the cutest enemies-to-love story and I lived for their clashes and banter. They each possess massive secrets, which in a weird way bond them, and you know what they say–the closest emotion to hate is love. Wow, the sparks sprayed like an ice stop with this one and I was there for every zing.
The twists were fascinating and I loved the biker group, as well as the hockey family. So many unexpected turns made this one entertaining and oh, so much fun.

Switch and Score is so fun! It’s different than the other hockey romances I’ve read because while Jude does play hockey in it, he’s only impersonating his twin. Jude’s sport of choice is figure skating. It was unique in that way.
Jude and Chantelle have such a fun back and forth. The banter was excellent! My favorite part was probably when Jude learned of Chantelle’s secret in the bookstore.
Because of the twin switch element, there is a good deal of lying in this story. I thought that it was well done though, in that we were able to see how doing that was really weighing on the characters and their consciences.
I love Dulcie’s writing! This one releases on April 30th. You definitely should check it out!

This book was so much fun! It’s the first twin swap story I’ve read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Dulcie has done it again!
Jude and Chantelle are so great.
Jude is loyal and caring - a great Cinnamon roll, but also so challenged when first meeting Chantelle.
Chantelle is a loyal daughter but with a passion Cand gift for something different than what is expected. She's also neurodivergent and notices all the details, like the way Joel doesn't quite seem like... Joel.
What starts as snappy rivals turns into
CRACKLING chemistry, the sweetest nicknames, and the BEST fast fall.
My favorites scenes included the book signing, Archer's porch, "catch me if you can," and that epilogue!
Two thumbs up - don't miss this excellent read!

There are so many twists and turns with this story with Jude pretending to be his brother and Chantelle being a secret romance author.
Yet I really loved how believable it was! I loved the emotional depth it gave to the story.
I loved how it was handled and the resolution.
I love all the side characters and the cameos from the series. So good!
And man on man once the flirting began it was 🔥🔥 and those kisses were 🔥🔥 and the whole book was just on fire with amazingness basically.
Wow. Just in awe of the emotional depth written in here and the swoony romance.

Oh man, this book took me for a wild ride! And I loved every second of it! Dulcie has wrote another winner and now I need more “twin switching” books in my life! lol
First off, I loved Jude and Joel! When Joel hurts his wrist, he knows he won’t be able to get back out on the ice. Not wanting to lose his starting position, he asks Jude to switch with him till it heals. But here’s the thing…Jude and Joel are total opposites. Joel is the funny jokester and Jude is quiet and keeps to himself. So Jude has his work cut out for him, because nobody can know they switched.
Here’s where Chantelle comes in! I loved Chantelle! She was relentless and full of spunk. She paid attention to details and it didn’t take her long to figure out Jude’s secret! But she has one of her own that Jude unintentionally finds out. So they strike a truce that they won’t reveal each other secrets.
Jude and Chantelle were the perfect sparring couple! Their banter was flirty and heated, especially when she would get Jude riled up. When their sparring finally reaches its peak, though, look out! The sparks ignite and never die out! And as Dulcie has stated, there were seven glorious kiss scenes! SEVEN!! It made this romantic heart happy and giddy!!
Neither one knew how much they truly needed each other. Their journey from enemies to lovers was just beautiful. They had me swooning so many times with all their sweetness. They were each other’s perfect match!

Wow! This whole series has been amazing so far. After Switch and Score, I only have the last book of the series left to read. The three authors who created this hockey team and wrote these books have produced something really special.
I wondered, before actually starting to read this story, if I would be frustrated by the switching that Joel convinces Jude to do in order to protect Joel’s spot on the team. But I found myself intrigued instead! And I loved reading Chantelle’s perspective as she began to realize that something was up. Before I knew it, there was an enemies to more vibe going on and attraction buzzing between the two, as well. It was great!
So…Jude was not the only one hiding a big secret. Chantelle was, too. And the fact that these two characters were both weighed down with the deceptions that they were carrying around made them feel like very real people to me. I also thought the author did a great job of showing the way Chantelle hyper analyzed details and worked herself up, suffering anxiety as she did so. But, yet, she ended up finding someone who truly understood her in Jude. They were such a great pair! I loved this story from start to finish and didn’t want to set the book down.

Switch and Score is the fifth book in the Dating a Denver Dragon series. I had not yet read all of the previous books, but I found I was able to enjoy this one just fine as a standalone.
Oh my goodness, I absolutely adored this book! There is just something about a twin swap that I absolutely love. I haven't read a ton of them, but those I have read have turned out to be some of my very favorites... and this was no exception. I loved how much Jude cared about his family and was willing to go to such extremes to be there for them. While some of his initial interactions with Chantelle were...less than sweet...he won me over anyway. Chantelle was fantastically written as well. While I do not have OCD, I do have my own mental health struggles and know a little something about intrusive and spiraling thoughts. I love seeing all kinds of minds represented in fiction and find that so important and it was done so well here. And these two characters together? Absolute gold! I loved the fire between them--- both when they were fighting and when they weren't! That first kiss? Oh my goodness, so very good! This story had a lot going on, with so many secrets to keep track of... but it was done perfectly, and I found myself enjoying every single second.
Switch and Score is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. There is some light Christian content as well. (Mentions of characters praying, etc.)

Oh my goodness, what a fun book this is! When you were a kid, did you ever want to have an identical twin so you could switch places? Or was that just me? Well, Joel and Jude did that as kids, and decided to do so as adults, too. Like the author has said, you need to suspend reality for a bit, but oh what fun you have when you do!
And believe it or not, that's all I have to say about that! I loved it!
OH! But I am REALLY hoping Chantelle's biker buddies have a series of their own coming!

This was another book in the series that I thought was unrealistic. You mean to tell me that Jude and Joel pulled a parent trap and only ONE person noticed? Especially because figure skating and hockey are so different. And ESPECIALLY when Jude who is supposed to act as Joel (a married man) is flirting and saying all the wrong things to someone who knows Joel really well. Crazy!!! I don’t know how they got away with it for as long as they did.
I liked Chantelle and Jude though. They don’t really make sense together, but I think that adds charm to their relationship. Also, I have to point out that Chantelle is in a biker gang with random guys she met at a red light. I don’t know why that was funny to me, but it was completely out of the blue. It didn’t really add anything to the story. It was just so random that I started laughing while reading.

Wow! I loved this one!! Such a unique twist and fun storyline! The banter was top notch and the story flowed so well. I didn't want to put it down!
I loved how the story set up the characters and their personalities before they met. It made for a very fun meet cute! And it let the reader get to know their personality before the relationship. I was immediately intrigued by the storyline as well.
Chantelle and Jude were such great characters on their own as well as together! They had some great tension and fiery banter! I love that! That first kiss! What a great enemies to more first kiss. They have such a fun and exciting story and I couldn't get enough of it. They are so adorable together. They were there for each other that suited their individual personalities so well.
Also, I loved Chantelle's motorcycle group she rode with, that was such a fun way to get to know her character. Seeing Jude around the Dragon's teammates was so fun and I loved seeing the guys we have gotten to know over the last few books again.
This series is so great and I have loved reading these new-to-me authors!
I loved how the story set up the characters and their personalities before they met. It made for a very fun meet cute! And it let the reader get to know their personality before the relationship. I was immediately intrigued by the storyline as well.

Such a fun book! I loved it. Hockey player Joel didn’t want anyone to know that he couldn’t play for a while and convinced his identical twin brother, figure skater Jude, to stand-in as him. The coach’s hyper observant daughter Chantelle figured out the swap, but when Jude discovered a major secret of hers, a little blackmail led to mutual secret keeping. But the secrets were a big weight on both of them. “But that’s the thing about secrets. At first, you hide the truth because you think it’s the path of least resistance, then you quickly find that traveling down this road comes with a whole different set of problems ripe with a thick, dump truck-level layer of guilt.” As Jude continued to replace Joel, increased contact with Chantelle led to increased attraction. But it’s a little complicated falling in love with your brother’s coach’s daughter while pretending to be your very married brother. “Do not recommend trying to
fake a marriage with your sister-in-law. Zero out of ten stars.”
Truthfully, it all sounds pretty implausible, but the author totally made it work. Every time I thought, “Yeah, but what about….”, she addressed whatever I had on my mind. The romance was flirty, swoony, and had a good build-up through observation, confrontation, conflict, mutual understanding, and relationship. Jude and Chantelle had great chemistry and banter. They were wonderful main characters. Jude had so much to balance with assuming his brother’s identity, and Chantelle, besides hiding a big secret, struggled with obsessive and intrusive thoughts. Once they were together they were so sweet. “‘Like now that there’s you, there’s no going back to being just me. It’s us from here on out.’” The secondary characters were also great. The camaraderie and teasing within the team was so entertaining. I love a good team dynamic. It’s why the series is so fun. This book is part of a multi-author series focused on the Denver Dragons hockey team. There is quite a bit of character carryover between books, but each one can be read as a standalone. There are elements involved in the story of cancer, infertility, debt, and OCD thoughts and behaviours. Light faith themes are also included in the book. This is a sweet and clean story with mild innuendo and no harsh language.

If you’re not into secrets and alternate identities, this book may not be for you!
What would you do if you felt a sense of obligation to help your family, but it came at great risk to yourself?! You would help because that’s what family does or at least that was Jude’s rationale! Jude and his Denver Dragon hockey playing twin, Joel, are practically identical in all facets of life, so when asked if he would be willing to impersonate his brother for a few weeks, Jude reluctantly gives in! Too much at stake to not to take the risk, hopefully no one would be the none the wiser.
However, what neither Forshtay twin counted on was how keen, Coach Pratt’s daughter, Chantelle’s observations are! The girl has an eye for detail that borders on annoying, and her sassiness makes it nearly impossible to keep her mouth shut! Through some quick thinking on Jude’s part, he secures their little secret by means of blackmail! Not ideal, but at least nobody will find out that shouldn’t!
The twists and turns of this plot were a doozy, but a good doozy! While I don’t condone lying normally, I can understand why the secrets needed to be kept! Dulcie Dameron and this entire series does it again! I’m not sure what it is about these books but I read them in about a day or two. I just can’t put them down. I’m sad that after next month’s release this series will be over.

Jude is a professional figure skater while Joel plays for the Denver Dragons Hockey team. It was all going to plan until the coaches daughter, Chantel starts to figure out something is up.
Once I learned this book was about identical twins switching roles. I knew I had to read it. I mean.. who hasn’t wished they could switch places with someone at some point in their life. Add romance in there and it’s perfect! I love the dynamic between Jude and Chantel. That if they weren’t in the situation they were in they might never have found each other.
This book has a strong importance on family. Which made it easy to relate to!

Okay, so Switch and Score by Dulcie Dameron…where do I even start? First of all, twin swaps? I’m so here for it. Figure skater Jude pretending to be his hockey-playing brother Joel? Genius. But also stressful. Very stressful. You can practically feel Jude sweating under the pressure, and as someone who can barely skate without falling on my face, I was living for the chaos.
Now, let’s talk about Chantelle. Girl is relentless. She’s the coach’s daughter and has a brain like a hockey encyclopedia. I mean, of course she’d notice when “Joel” starts skating like he’s ready for a triple axel. So, naturally, she does what any totally not-annoying person would do: she digs. And then she gets *blackmailed* into keeping Jude’s secret. Fun, right?
The banter? SPOT ON. Jude and Chantelle’s back-and-forths were like watching a tennis match with sparks flying everywhere. Enemies-to-lovers galore, with some of the best zingers. Honestly, I don’t even know how they went from wanting to rip each other apart to falling for each other…but it works. Mostly.
If you love enemies-to-lovers with lots of banter, some good twining, and just enough swoon to keep you invested, this book will hit the spot.

When you get a Dulcie Dameron book, you’re in for a great story. You’ll get sweet and funny, with heartwarming tenderness, and a good helping of sizzling chemistry.
Swooning over their fun and fiery banter, Jude and Chantelle are each other’s perfect match. There’s heat, there’s flirting, there’s understanding.
I loved Chantelle!!! I see a bit of myself in her, not to the same degree though. Hiding her true self due to fear of rejection. With Jude, she doesn’t have to hide for the first time. She’s able to let go and I loved seeing it!
Jude loves with his whole heart. He’ll do anything. Even go along with the insane plan his twin brother has. “Family comes first.”
I felt connected to Jude in this book too as I was a competitive roller skater, pairs and singles. I understood his connection to Kenzie. Yes, sometimes love can come of it, but most of the time it’s a brother/sister relationship full of trust with many highs and lows.
Don’t let this one pass you by. The twin switch/secrets is done superbly and it exceeded my hopes and expectations.

When I saw that this was a book about twins swapping places, I was a bit leery. I have read other twin swap stories and often they just aren't (IMHO) believable. That was not the case here. The reason for the swap made sense especially when you look at ALL the factors involved, understand the heart of the Forshtay family and the dynamic between Jude and Joel.
And then there is Chantelle. I love that she is so detail oriented. Something she sees as a negative has positive benefits too. My heart hurts for her as she struggles to keep her secret from her family fearing their reaction.
As with all Dulcie's books, there are the chemistry is amazing and there are some swoonworthy scenes for sure! I also love that Joel and Chantelle both struggle with the secrecy and desire to let the truth be known.
Another wonderful read in this great series!
OH One final note.. if you have seen or read the "Give a Bookish Girl a Biker" series, the characters in it are introduced here providing a fun tie in!

This book had me smiling so much! It’s such a sweet romance and I loved all of the banter and tension between Chantelle and Jude. Chantelle struggles with obsessive intrusive thoughts. That made me love her that much more as that’s also something I struggle with. I loved the way Jude would reassure and encourage her. Quick fun read!
I love the characters in this series and Jude and Chantelle did not disappoint!
Jude may be more of an introvert and posing as a grump at the beginning but he’s 100% a golden retriever/cinnamon role hero my favorite!
This wasn’t a laugh out loud rom/com but definitely had some good banter and memorable moments.
I loved all the little side stories and hope we see more of Chantelle’s biker group later.
I feel like there are LOTS of stories there.
Overall this is another win for the Denver Dragons!!

I absolutely loved this book!
The newest book of the Denver Dragons series was a page turner! Dulcie did a great job keeping the storyline entertaining and kept me wondering what was coming next!
Chantelle from Ronnie’s story was the FMC and Joel’s twin brother, Joel, was the MMC. Their chemistry and banter was so fun to read!
There was no swearing and no open door scenes, only sweet & sizzling kisses!
Overall, this book was a super easy read and an amazing addition to the Denver Dragons series! I 100% recommend grabbing a copy and reading it!

Great book! I have always loved stories about twins switching places, but in this instance, it's not to pull a prank but to put family first. I love that!
I also really enjoyed reading about our female main characters battle with OCD. That's not a subject that's touched on a lot in books, and I really appreciate it how it was done.
All that said, the tenderness Jude shows for Chantelle and the protectiveness she shows for him warmed my heart so much!
* Trigger warnings - There is some talk about infertility and miscarriage, nothing in detail on page, but it is mentioned briefly.

What a thrilling ride this story was! Just goes to show there really is a thin line between love and hate. Jude and Chantelle started out pretty hateful to each other, but it sure was fun watching them do a 180.
I don’t want to spoil anything with too much detail, but I was on the edge of my seat, waiting to see if the guys would get busted with the switch. In the meantime, the chemistry between Jude and Chantelle was off the charts. What a great story!
