When the Chaos Emeralds reappear in Mobius, Robotnik tells their guardian, Knuckles, that he is the good king, and that "Sonic the Evil One" is trying to steal the jewels
Michael Teitelbaum has been a writer and editor of children’s books for more than thirty years. He worked on staff as an editor at Golden Books, Grossett & Dunlop, and Macmillan. In addition to The Scary States of America, Michael’s fiction work includes The Very Hungry Zombie: A Parody, and The Very Thirsty Vampire: A Parody both done with artist extraordinaire Jon Apple, published by Skyhorse. His non-fiction work includes writing Jackie Robinson: Champion for Equality, published by Sterling, and The Baseball Hall of Fame, a 2-volume encyclopedia, published by Grolier. He is also the series editor of Great Escapes, true-life acts of incredible courage, published by Harper Collins. Michael has always had an interest in the paranormal, despite a rather normal childhood in Brooklyn, NY. These days, Michael lives with his wife, Sheleigah, and two talkative cats in an (as yet unhaunted) 180-year-old farmhouse in the beautiful Catskill Mountains of upstate New York.
The end of the series. (As far as I know) Overall I think it's under appreciated series of books. They are easy reading stories but what really get it is that our heroes don't always win. Sure they win some but there is a lot of loss and cost that happens in this series. More than you realize. If this is the last book it's really unfortunate. It really has quite a lot going for it. They are decent books.
Cover Every cover has been inspired and dedicated to embodying the theme. This one is no different and I love it.
Story Once again respecting the source material while slightly twisting it up a bit. I have to give them credit. The risk is through the roof. Revealing possible futures how far the steaks are isn't what I expected expected this series direction to take. I think this series was meant to become at least a cannon spinoff universe because it's really enjoyable and it's really focusing on the world building. Knuckles is what you would expect. Still gullible but he is a lot more aware and assertive than over versions. He isn't brain dead, but more thoughtful and more logical making him not as much dense doofus.
Series impression. First mainly our hero and villain groundwork, then came the freedom fighters, then some backstory and the reveal of more freedom fighters out in the world, then showing not everyone can be fully trusted outside Knothole Village, now introducing Knuckles and the Chaos Emeralds. The series overall is really great read.
The second in a series by Michael Teitelbaum. A fun read for kids and for people like me who are Sonic fans and are a little nostalgic. Interesting introduction of Knuckles the Echidna.
