PBS’s successful animated show Wild Kratts joins the adventures of zoologists Chris and Martin Kratt as they travel to animal habitats around the globe. Along the way, they encounter incredible creatures while combining science education and fun. Boys and girls ages 4 to 6 will dive into this Step 2 Reader with the Kratt brothers as they activate their Creature Power Suits to swim with sharks, whales, and other wild sea creatures! Step 2 Readers use basic vocabulary and short sentences to tell simple stories. For children who recognize familiar words and can sound out new words with help.
High quality educational/informative book. One of the better books in this series (which is pretty good overall, so that's saying something).
The art is a flat, matte, cartoon style. Art works well with text. Good layout. I liked the page on Mako sharks and the one on Tiger sharks. Also includes Great Whites, Goblin Sharks, Bull Sharks, Cat Sharks, Salmon Sharks, etc. This book also covers shark teeth, shark lifecycles, the texture of shark skin, and ocean conservation.
The Kratt Brothers use their special powers to dive into the ocean, where they share details about such creatures as tiger sharks, sea turtles, blowfish, and squid. Each page has large type, short sentences, and entertaining illustrations to help young readers, although children may need help with such complex words as "activate," "predators," and "tentacles." While the book reads like fiction, with the Kratt Brothers inviting readers along on their adventure, fans of nonfiction and of sea creatures will appreciate the numerous interesting facts throughout the book.
Watching Wild Kratts was my favorite thing to do while I was in Kindergarten. I have almost all of the Wild Kratt Books, they are super easy to read and you can learn cool facts about sea creatures in this one.... They always have amazing pictures. Highly recommend it for anybody who likes to read about animals.

Go on an adventure with the Kratt Brothers and learn about ocean creatures and their amazing “creature powers”! Fans of the show will certainly enjoy this book, and learn a few cool creature facts as they practice their emerging reader skills.
The Wild Kratts and their creature powers go exploring under the sea. They encounters sharks and sea turtles and dolphins and other such things. No real story.
This step two Wild Sea Creatures: Sharks, Whales and Dolphins! (Wild Kratts) by Martin and Chris Pratt is a non-fiction reader for preschool all the way through grade one. Wild Sea Creatures Sharks, Whales, and Dolphins by Martin and Chris Pratt uses the famous Wild Kratt brothers to help students learn facts about different topics in this case animals though a fun story line. They use their creature power suits to swim through the sea and exploring different animals from dolphins, sharks, sea turtles, squids, blowfish, crabs, and eels. They present facts like where they live, eat, predators, and habitats about the different animals. This step two reader did a great job of presenting nonfiction information to children using characters from a TV show that they are familiar with. They were able to explore with two of their favorite characters. The illustrations are just as powerful because they are animated and colorful which allows for the younger reader to be engaged or draw conclusions if they struggle with the text. This book was composed of multiple short simple sentences, sight words, and provided a topic heading for each different animal throughout the story making it easy to follow. This book would be great to use in the classroom for both younger and older grades for animal research or just for fun as gateway to nonfiction text.
