Omegas are prized.
Omegas are valuable.
Omegas are desired.

Or so the Council says.

I've been suppressing my inherent Omega nature since the damn Council member delivered the news of my designation in the spring of my Senior year of high school. I had dreams. I had travel plans. One stupid packet changed all of it.
Mostly.

Four years later, I'm finally letting the Council match me with a pack. One night to determine the rest of my life. I'm skeptical until Logan makes the night fun, Carter makes it unforgettable, and Jude makes it intriguing. The Council pairing me with them is a dream come true.

But what if they don't like me when I'm finally off my suppressors and learning how to be an Omega?
What if I'm a terrible Omega?
What if they decide to back out?

We have sixty days.
By day fifteen, I can't imagine living without them.
But will they still want me even after my heat?

For starters... Faedra is 22, Logan is 35, and both Carter and Jude are 40. For me personally I just found that super creepy and off putting. I don't mind age-gap romances, but I think for the mature ages of the guys A girl who was at least in her mid twenties (around 25) would have been better and less creepy than her early twenties.

On to the actual plot of the story, I liked the idea but I definitely found it lacking. The omegaverse aspect of the story was very subpar. I genuinely don't understand how Faedra knew basically nothing about her own designation, regardless of the fact that she was on suppressors, and how basically every beta mentioned had no understanding of the alpha/omega dynamic... like there was clearly no segregation between schooling and dynamics, so how can they be that uneducated? Is this like a terrible metaphor for how garbage American sex education is? At one point the guys wanted to get Faedra a stacking ring, but decided otherwise because her beta parents wouldn't understand... because apparently a stacking ring is such an obscure thing to have as a beta? I found that the entire book solidly put out the vibe that Betas were basically prejudice towards anything that wasn't something their own dynamic did, which was super annoying to read.

I do want to point out too that Faedra owned like zero pairs of pants. Literally every time her outfit was mentioned, she was wearing a skirt, dress, or slip. I just find that super weird, and it jlgives off a weird vibe.

Another issue I had is that the relationship between Faedra and the pack was weird. She very clearly gravitated towards Carter the most, and then with Logan the least. At no point in time could I understand how any of them actually developed feeling for each other. I found that a lot of aspects of that closeness was implied rather than written out, like Faedra spending the night with Logan for a week, but we don't actually witness that development. I also thought that the steamy scenes were quite lack luster, and considering that this is supposed to be a reverse harem omegaverse it was weird that they all slept with Faedra separately rather than as a group. Kinda gave off the vibe of 3 dudes that happen to sleep with the same chick, rather than feel like it was a pack dynamic. The time of her heat was brushed over and segregated, and the same thing went for her bonding... again, not something I except when it comes to an omegaverse story.

Also, the entire storyline was very flat and uninteresting. Basically nothing happens for the entire story, until the very end when the most cliche plot points occur that make you want to roll your eyes because of how teen fanfic they come across as. The entirety of the story was just Faedra acting like a kid honestly, and that just further solidifies the ick of her being 22 and being with 35-40 year old men.

Definitely wasn't a fan of this one, and I wouldn't recommend it either.

There were things I really liked about this book and then things I really didn’t. First off, I found all the Taylor Swift references very weird because this was an Omegaverse book. Taylor Swift exists in the Omegaverse? I found myself cringing once the mentions of her kept coming up. Also I really disliked the pregnancy at the end. Let the FMC grow and explore her interests before she has babies! Especially since she expressed wanting to wait for children. It made me feel so sad for her. Also I felt like the relationships felt a bit unequal at times, with Logan getting the least attention. Finally, the other woman drama was so infuriating. I can handle OW drama but in this the guys handled it so poorly that I was PISSED.

The good parts of this: it was low-angst, they were all committed right from the start, it was cute and full of fluff.

I loved the plot, I loved the MCs. I love the overall vibe.

I think it just needed more description. I felt the transitions were a bit abrupt. Needed more info on the exes bc that felt kind thrown in there. The friends group felt thrown in there, like the introduction wasn’t really an intro. And then the ending before the epilogue was kind of left field IMO.

Could be worse.

It's not a godd book but it's decent. The plot is... ok and the characters are a bit shallow (depth wise) could even say not interesting.

The whole bonding and knoting is mentioned but lacks impact and just sounds like any other sex scene.

They have no respect for the h, they only want an omega.

OW drama.
One of them had sex with OM after meeting the h.

Barely any plot and the plot that had was boring and simplistic.

An easy to read omegaverse that kept me entertained. There's a little bit of drama involved, and it's quite predictable in the plot.

There's a fair amount of OW drama throughout the book. At times, it seemed a bit excessive.

Overall, it was a fun read but I won't be rushing to read the next book in the series anytime soon.

Ready or Knot

*********SPOILERS*********

Okay, who puts the content warnings at the END of the book? There is no warning for other women drama... a lot of drama from them psychos. Also, there were references to what would equate to SA off page. When a person takes advantage of a person when they are drunk or impaired and can not legally consent, it's assault. Whether it be a man or a woman. In this case, it was a man who was assaulted. I mean, he even mentioned how she preyed on him when he was at his lowest and weakest, and when he was drunk. That's assault. I was not impressed with how Jude handled the whole situation with his ex Mel. She took advantage of him first when his sister died, then when he ended things because he formed a pack when Jude and Carter added Logan. They see alphas they wanted pack life which includes an omega. Mel followed him to the college he teaches at and continued to stalk and harass him and try and pursue a sexual relationship with him that he didn't really want. Yet he did NOT tell her to f*** off or block her or report her until poor Fae catches them lip locked. And then when that b**** is fired for HER BEHAVIOR, she verbally attacks Fae and blames her, Jude DOES NOT DEFEND Fae, PERIOD. Then Carter, with his ex Harper, he should have gone above her head to HER BOSS about her inappropriate behavior, using work to stalk him and force him to have to see her when he didn't want to either. Both men were cowards who did not put an end to situations with either women, which shouldn't have even been happening when they were looking for an omega. H*ll Jude had s*x with that psycho AFTER meeting Fae. They should have put an end to that crap BEFORE finding an Omega to join their pack. Granted, they haven't had luck in the 4 or 5 years of looking until Fae, but they still liked her and were actively LOOKING. Fae started out as a strong female character only to become meek and not stand up for herself when faced with both women and other situations. Granted, her omega nature was new for her after suppressing her omega nature for years. So, not much of a shock, but she still didn't have a backbone when things went down with either woman or being direct with the men like she was in the beginning. Bit of a let down with that but overall it was an okay story. I really don't care for OWD in my books, but it wasn't the worst I've read, so 4 stars. Not too much spice but good scenes when it did happen. Overall if you don't mind OWD is an okay read.

I just ✨LOVE IT✨

Omegaverse is my guilty pleasure, I have been reading books on this subject for years and every time I am surprised by the genius of the authors to make this world their own, because yes, everyone is ruled by the same, but each author gives it their touch and I liked the author's touch in this world.

From the Omega that has to go to a dance to see if she is compatible with a pack of Alphas to the Consulate that approves the couples, it was a good journey to read this book. Faedra is our Omega, she has put aside looking for an Alpha (or several) for a few good years because she wanted to get ahead with her studies, she goes to the dance and feels attracted to a pack of Alphas, life surprises her and she is paired with them; these Alphas are Jude, Carter and Logan and they could not be more different from each other, each one has a personality that complements the other and as you read them you get to know them and you fall in love with them.

I thought the relationship of these four was good, a little slow for this whole world, but I liked that they took their time to get to know each other, that they understood Faedra's actions regarding her heat, I liked that they TALKED about everything, that they validated her feelings and I just thought, when will it be my turn for men like this? because I tell you, these three stole my heart 🥰

Without a doubt a good book in the good omegaverse style, I loved the whole pack dynamic, there was no big drama although there were some scenes that shocked me because I did not see them coming. I really like the way the author writes, I found this book by chance when I saw a little phrase the author posted on her social network and thank the gods for the little favors because I ended up loving this book 🫶🏻

Thanks to the author for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review!!

---

This was fine enough. I feel like I got dropped into a world that wasn't explained super well. What is the Council? How does it operate? Why does it exist at all? Why is she only going to one ball? Why is sex referred to as knotting? Why is there such a short time frame to confirm pack relationships? Lots of little stuff added up to make feel this was not as fully realized as it could have been.

I'm also not sure I read a romance story. It felt more like a book about people becoming comfortable with each other and deciding to be together for practicality sake. There was a bit too much internal exposition instead of dialogue. Faedra's personality felt inconsistent. At the beginning she's very up front and blunt, but then becomes almost shy and afraid. I didn't love this pack. Their personalities weren't strong and I wasn't able to keep everyone straight even at the end. The OW drama and life-threatening injury was drama for drama sake. I think I may read Violet's story, but this doesn't leave me very hopeful that I'll love it.

And what was with all the commenting and highlighting everyone's ear piercings???

This eARC I received is my omegaverse introduction & I am happy to have arrived!! A little blurb about the story:

Faedra is an omega that has always suppressed her urges and never allowed herself to explore what being an omega is about. Right before graduating college she goes to a matching party with her bff Violet and meets a pack that she immediately hits it off with. We then get taken along her journey of letting her omega self come to life and all that entails!

Ready or Knot is a reverse harem with plenty of spice but no sharing scenes. There are a few trigger warnings so make sure to read those before beginning! My favorite thing was the communication between the pack. I loved the lack of judgement and the immediate acceptance of how Faedra was feeling at any point. I 100% recommend this book if you’re looking for smut, healthy communication, a twist at the end & personal nicknames from each alpha 🥵.

Author's first book falls flat

1. This book was boring. Nothing really happened. There was a "twist" at the end but it felt very forced and like the author was told to add more drama and that's the best they could do in the 11th hour.
2. ***THIS IS AN AGE GAP ROMANCE*** but there was absolutely *no* mention of it in the blurb or content warnings. The FMC is 22 and the MMCs are 35, 40, and 40. It was jarring to have this young omega suddenly smitten with a guy who was repeatedly described as 'salt and pepper' with no preamble.
3. The characters felt very one-dimensional. All of the MMCs seemed the same. We barely get any explanation of their jobs and only get the history of one of them. No other mention of their families (or lack thereof).
4. There were several side characters that just appear with no explanation as to how they know the MMCs. People like Doug, Gina, Ashlynn, Willa, etc. At first I thought they might have been sisters but it turns out they met hiking? This explanation is t provided until after the characters have cropped up a few times and I even did a search in the book thinking I missed a paragraph explaining who they were.
5. Some minor typos like 'locket' instead of 'pocket' and 'peaked' instead of 'peeked'. But bonus points for no incorrect use of apostrophes!
6. The story line felt a little choppy. There would be scene changes without any logic and thing jumped around a lot.
7. The author is *OBSESSED* with ear piercings. Like, to the point of making me wonder if it's a fetish. Multiple characters were constantly described as playing with, touching, rotating, etc. their various ear piercings. I don't know why it was mentioned so often but it was really weird and definitely took me out of the story.
8. Can we please get rid of the 'v!rgin bleeds after her first time having sex' BS??? Sure, Fae hadn't had sex with a human before but it was mentioned that she used v!brators and m@$turbated. Chances are that she no longer had a hym3n that would have caused any bleeding--it's increasingly common in this modern age where people are more active and the hym3n breaks/tears naturally. The author tried to call out one of the characters by mentioning it was patriarchal BS but still the description was there and was blech.
9. No spoilers but I was very disappointed in the ending. The author had an opportunity to change the narrative of the genre a little bit but eventually chose not to. Felt like a cop out.

I will not be reading the next book in the series.

This was a sweet, super low angst, and pretty straight forward omegaverse charmer. I did really enjoy it overall. Plenty of omega dynamics, a large age gap, and rampant sweetness and tenderness from some super obsessed alphas. It's mostly pretty low plot over all- the only real drama is some OW drama, so haters of that beware), and the rest is just her settling into this pack pretty easily as she learns about her omega-ness. The first part started very strong, and then I felt it was a bit longer than needed- or perhaps it just needed more dynamics (ups/downs) to keep it more engaging until the bonding and heating and finale drama. I was actually also super excited about the age gap dynamic, but it didn't pain out to be much of a forbidden aspect, despite a little hesitancy from her family. Felt like her being so much younger and inexperience (not just sexually but in life) could have been a cool chemistry builder/point of unexplored tension. Two of the guys felt so similar to me I kept having to remind myself who they were LOL- but overall they are cute.

The audio is also enjoyable- I didn't quite see the male narrator in one of the roles but he had three to perform so I'll cut him some slack. And the female narrator was engaging and emotive.

jillian’s one of my favorite omegaverse authors and for good reason! she does an amazing job with plot & pacing, and the spice is always fantastic. i loved faedra, she’s career focused & knows what she wants. carter, logan, and jude were the perfect trio to balance her out. the hiking was a fun add to the story, making it unique as i’ve never had that in my omegaverse stories. i enjoyed this book immensely!

p.s i loved the shoutout to madison & green bay, from a wisco reviewer!!

This book had an overall chill and mellow vibe. The story was at a slower pace and I liked it as it worked well with the fact that our FMC had to learn to be an omega after suppressing her designation for years.

However, for me, her first heat scene was underwhelming. Transitions between scenes did not flow well and sometimes felt like they ended abruptly. Side characters were introduced without a mention on who they were. Just a quick ‘Gina, our friend’ would have been helpful.

I thought this book was a really interesting take on the Omega "universe." I like that they're governing body for Omegas is taken seriously and it wasn't used for dramatic effect, like breaking up their bonded group, etc. Reading about how their group comes together and ends up falling in love was really sweet and well written too. The biggest issue that I have is that when Faedra decides to chemically stimulate her heat with medicine, she pops the pill the second she's thinking of it. She could have taken it at literally any time, but chose to take it while she was still out in public at one of their jobs? So stupid. The guys had all been prepping at their jobs. They could have had a discussion about it and chosen when she took it instead of upending all of the schedules and lives. Seemed really unnecessary to the story line. The third act twist was pretty interesting as well, and I didn't see it coming. I would recommend this book, who doesn't love a smut filled, HEA story?

An age gap is one thing, but, an age gap where the fmc is a childlike virgin paired with three men who are middle aged and act like her dads (I got the most overwhelming ick when she got into photography programs and the vibe was 'our baby girl got into her dream college' on the same day one of them swiped her v-card in his office. Just. No.) was something I couldn't get over. The emphasis on calling her 'little Omega' and how little she understands about her own body just further underscored the overall sense of something .....groomer-y and explicitly patriarchal in this dynamic. Matt Gaetz would love this book. Is what I'm sayin. The fmc feels like a thing or an object they've acquired. She never feels like an actual person.

You know how you read an Omegaverse for the first time and you find yourself going:

They have scents that can be anything from trees to pastries?
They “perfume” when they’re excited?
Slick?
The Omegas need to have physical contact all the time?
The Omegas need to nest to feel comfortable?
They get super horny when they’re in heat?

Yeah, I didn’t ask those either, but these 20-something and 40-something main characters sure as hell are. Legit, these are all questions they have asked. I kid you not, the omega didn’t know males had scents. She's constantly like, "I love your cologne." Girl, he even told you it was his scent. Has she never read a book? I get that when she designated she went on suppressants, but what kind of idiot wouldn’t read up on their designation so they knew what to expect when they finally came off them? Apparently, this idiot.

The males are almost as bad. They didn’t tell any of their ex/ current girlfriends that “Oh, by the way, got an omega now so no more sex with you!” So these biotches keep showin up and the poor FMC is like WTF? Not to mention that the guys referred to cleaning their cum off her as aftercare. Hate to be the one to tell you this, but aftercare is also cuddles, light conversation, gentle touches, not just wiping your mess up and skipping out. One guy even says he had to EAT the mess the other guy made. If it's a chore, you're doing something wrong. In fact, I can't call this fluff because there isn't really anything soft that happens.

I was laughing so freaking hard! They took her on a 40-mile hike with her having ZERO experience and knocking on the edge of a heat LMAO. Idiots. She was so sore and tired, and they were just like, meh, she'll be fine. It's like they continued on with their normal life and just happened to have an omega now. For being a pack that had been turned down so many times, they don't value her very much.

This whole book felt like a diagnosis book. Like she got diagnosed with something and had to "come to terms" with how different and horrible her life was now that she was an omega. It was the least enjoyable version of an omega I have read yet.

There are SO many contradictions in this book. The guys said they didn't want a typical omega because they hated constant contact. She started needing constant contact because she went off the suppressants, and they were right there, knowing what she needed and giving it to her. They said they'd knot her all together, they didn't. She said she never wanted Annnd so on.

Her parents are 47 and 49...two of the MMCs are 40. That's a little yucky. She's nearly HALF their age. They're knocking on retirement, and she's just finished one degree in college (which she does nothing with because she's a GENIUS with photography and just sells her photos instead).

That ending
I told my husband near the middle of the book, "She's either going to get knocked up and want to keep it, or those exes are going to cause problems." Wouldn't you know it; And there is no closure there! What happened to them? Did they go to prison? Is there a court hearing? Did the males murder them when they got released? Probably not the last one...pansies. Again, it was like a big thing got thrown in and then quickly thrown out. Drama for the sake of drama. Sigh.

Good job on the (audiobook) reading, though. It's always better to have a dude read the guys' POV and a chick do the girls'.

I really loved that book. I read a lot of Omegaverse books, because it's my favorite genre. There are always common denominators in the Omegaverse, like scents, bonding and heats, and so on.

But still, it's interesting how each author has their own take on it and makes differences or touch the genre up in different ways.

So, when I found this book, I was excited, because the author is a new one for me, and I'm always interested in seeing how it will turn out.

I can tell you, I loved it. The characters were great. I liked Faedra, our Omega FMC in this story. I could always relate to her and her feelings. The story in general didn't start out as many others. She isn't denying her Omega status, though she is insecure about what it entails to be an Omega, which was explained reasonable. All her family are Betas. And because of her taking suppressants for many years, she never really learned to understand her Omega nature. Still, she accepts that she is an Omega and makes the best out of it. She is confident and blunt.

She postponed the matching process to Alphas, because of her wanting to have her degree first. But when she finally goes to the matching Gala the council conducts, she meets the Alphas Jude, Carter, and Logan. They had their own issues, being one of the oldest packs there and tried to be matched for four years, but were always overlooked by other Omegas. They are disheartened and don't believe in finding an Omega anymore, since they were never chosen in all these years. And they had given up hope. They can't believe it, when Faedra selected them. Each of them is different in their personalities. I really liked them and the dynamic between them.

It is an emotional ride throughout the story. I love how the author made a point to take her time with them coming together as a pack. It's slower than it is usually done in the Omegaverse. The attraction was definitely there from the start, but Faedra had to learn about Omega nature. And the guys had some things too.

Really, the author touched a lot. They learn about each other, talk about their lives and the guys talk Faedra through her feelings and make her see, that they don't want to control her and that she can make her own choices and decisions. That she has every right to be herself and decide what she wants from life.

There was little drama, and a lot of spicy ones, but not too much. It was really well-balanced, which I liked.

I wished the council in the world was explained, though. It was never said how it came, that they matched Alphas and Omegas and what the government and all looks like. Or why most Betas don't know much about Omegas and Alphas, despite them living together. I would think they would be schooled about the dynamics at least. But they only seem to know the bare minimum. It's apparent with her parents and brother. They know about Faedra needing a pack, but they don't seem to understand how it works.

Another thing I found a bit confusing was that the trigger warnings were at the end of the book instead in the beginning. It doesn't make sense to me.

Overall, I give it 5 stars out of 5. I will follow this author and read the next books in this series.

"..end of life, but not of love." pg. 80

I have to admit, I wasn't sure about this one at first, but I am glad I pushed through my uncertainty. It was pretty good. I think my favorite part was that Faedra was slowly going off suppressants which meant she kind of slowly was developing omega instincts. One day she is sure she is not big on being touched all the time, then as she spends time with the alphas and goes off the suppressants she does start craving their touch and leaning into them without even being aware.

I didn't like that we were soooo close to the end and nothing had really... happened? Like I was waiting for some kind of climax of something dramatic to happen and then it finally did and it was just so... it didn't really work? Like it seemed so extreme and we didn't really know the characters starting the trouble well enough to know if it was out of character but because of how extreme it was, it did seem out of character.

Also the fact that betas were sooo unaware and uncomfortable with alpha and omega was a little weird? I've never read an omegaverse where the beta were so loosely? exposed? To alphas and omega that they seemed to have no real knowledge about them. And then later on with how there are things like matching galas why wouldn't beta be aware of how alphas and omega act? I don't know if it was a plot hole or what but it just kind of didn't work well with the rest of the plot. That being said I do like the idea of betas acting that way! It just didn't really make sense.

(Side note... the amount of times we had to read about Faedra's piercings was completely unnecessary.)

However, the office scene? Ugh. Perfect. I loovvveee good drama.

That being said, I really liked Faedra. And not just because her name is super cool and unique. She is a sweet omega that is a little insecure but willing to put that all aside to get to know the alphas she met at the Matching Gala better. The alphas are older especially since they have been to a lot of the ceremonies looking for an omega that fits their pack with no luck. But Faedra doesn't seem to mind that or their quirks other omegas didn't appreciate. Jude is the oldest at 40 and professor. Logan is the youngest at 35 most personable of the group, which makes sense since his job is signing athletes. Carter is 39 and a quieter alpha.

This book was a little dull. The first 30% is just a day in the life recounting. They get ready for the gala. They go for the gala. Faedra writes her finals. They fill out paperwork. They talk on the phone. They have brunch. They pack up her apartment. She flies on a plane. They have dinner.

Even after they’re together, there’s a lot of recounting of daily doldrums. She sews her quilt. They go hiking. They eat out.

Faedra slowly descends into a whiny, childlike Omega.

No exceptional events or plot occur. The only items of note are two jealous ex girlfriends. Jude’s “ex” is a particularly unpleasant storyline because he’s been on again off again with Melanie for 5 years. Sure their relationship is toxic, but he slept with her as recently as a month ago, and he’s never blocked her or cut off contact. Then he complains to his chair and she gets fired. Sure, she’s a nasty bitch, but I’m not sure Jude is the good guy here.

Faedra randomly takes her heat stimulant pill at Jude’s workplace. Why? Who knows. She’s not very smart.

The book uses the psychotic killer ex girlfriend trope. We don’t know why the exes, who appeared to be fully functional human beings, degenerate into homicidal insanity, nor do we find out what happens to them afterward. Faedra is brutally attacked for no literary reason, as the book does not explore the trauma, nor the legal drama. It simply ends.

It seems to me that this book happened in reverse order to how a good book would proceed. In a good book, the psycho girlfriend stalking would happen sooner and have a bit of mystery, the stabbing would happen much earlier, then the romance and relationship would deal with the difficult issues of the crime and trauma.
