Celina Myers is a bright young artist from Canada which rose as a Paranormal Writer and Tiktok Star. She's also a Model and Instagram Star. She has appeared in many Videos and is known for her Humor. She is among one of the most trending girls in tiktok and is primarily famous for comedy video clips, dancing videos and performs lip-syncs on TikTok( Musical.ly).
It's a really entertaining, listen, consumed in two sittings whilst dog walking. The stories were just the right length, and the narration was amazing! Love you, Celina!
I listened to "Spooky Boo's Night Frights" on Audible and the audiobook was both thrilling and haunting. This book is an anthology of five short horror stories; and in addition to the actual story itself, there was a performance for each one that offered readers appropriate and noisy sound effects.
The five short stories are titled "Dollhouse", "New Roots", "Darling", "The Paradox", and "Devil's Night". The stories focus on witches, ghosts, hauntings, and strange things that go bump in the night. I enjoyed each story but I had two that particularly appealed to me and they were "Dollhouse", and "Darling". "Dollhouse" enthralled me in a story about a caretaker's new job that offered more than she bargained for; and "Darling" fascinated me with a tale of two sisters who purchase a new to them house that already has residents of it's own.
The description of the book says that it offers readers an "audio life in fully immersive Dolby Atmos soundscapes", and I was definitely imerssed from start to finish.
Author Celina Myers is known as "TikTok's horror and paranormal queen, celebrated by more than 30 million souls across the social media universe. Written and told by viral Canadian horror TikTok star Celina SpookyBoo". I have now read two books by Celina Myers, the first book being "The Home Reader", which was a another anthology that focused on some very interesting creepy tales of Canada's, specifically Ontario's, strangest paranormal activity.
Love this. Love her videos and her books. Love the sound of her voice it tells the stories so well and sets the tone to match. “Darling” and “The Paradox” are my favorites. Could listen to this endlessly.
I loved these short stories, and they are perfect for spooky season or any other time you want to listen to a story. Also, Celina did a fantastic job narrating these stories, and I definitely recommend listening to these stories!
I have woken my husband up from his deep slumber on a few occasions now when I watch Celina's videos when in bed. I try not to laugh out loud but then I just end up belly shaking my internal laughter and my husband wakes up wondering wtf I am doing shaking the bed lol...I also loooove her voice so when I learned about this audio book, I knew I had to listen!
I liked the short story format so it was easy to hold my attention. Celina's voice really makes the audiobook. I was a bit irked at some of the big pauses in between reading. I realize sometimes it was for the cool effects in the background but sometimes it just seemed like a long silent pause. Maybe for suspense build up? Perhaps.
Love the spooky stories. Love the narration. Four solid stars.
About: Paranormal Horror 5 Short Stories Audiobook
These Short Stories were perfect for Halloween! Creepy & bone chilling. If you're a fan of light horror, ghosts, and the paranormal in general, I think you will absolutely love this audiobook!
I think Celina did an amazing job with the narration and really brought her short stories to life! Dollhouse & Darling were definitely the ones that stuck out to me. Bone chilling is an understatement!
I like Celina I do watch some of her podcast. She has a soothing voice as she tells these short stories they’re supposed to be scary. I didn’t find them scary. They were definitely interesting though. I believe she even wrote the stories but the sound effects are amazing. I think that was the only part that was scary. Especially when you’re driving, which is usually when I will listen to an audible. Overall, I think they’re fun stories that are meant to sound scary.
I LOVED these stories. I listened on audible and Celina's voice paired with the ambiance of the sound effects was *chef's kiss*! Now I have to go listen and buy everything else she has on there, and I must get copies of her books for my bookshelf! I found myself listening in every spare moment I could just to stay in her immersion and though I never reread or listen to a book more than once, I can safely say I will be listening again and again. Bravo Ms. SpookyBoo! Bravo!
Overall 4 out of 5 stars Performance 5 out of 5 stars Story 4 out of 5 stars
Creepy! This collection of short stories from Celina was pretty creepy! But I'd expect nothing less from Celina SpookyBoo! Some of these were definitely odd, but entertaining.
Celina should look into narrating other books, I'd grab them just to listen to her!
The way it was made it creepier!! I definitely prefer reading horror books to listening to them. 😂 overall a good set of stories that just flowed naturally.
I had been wanting read one of Celine’s books and now I have. Plus, I love that it was narrated by her, felt like I was watching one of her videos. 🖤
I devoured the short story format like a hungry teenager at an all-you-can-eat buffet. Celina's voice was the cherry on top, but those awkward pauses in between reading? Yeah, those were a bit of a mood killer. I'm assuming they were for the fancy sound effects, but other times it just felt like an uncomfortable silence. Maybe it was supposed to be suspenseful or something?
I like Celina - whenever her videos pop up on my feed, I stop my scroll and watch. This audiobook though kinda missed the mark for me. Some of the stories were a bit predictable. And sometimes the audio itself was weird - the narration would be loud, but the characters lines were too soft. Overall, I had wanted a bit more of a spooky vibe than it gave me
HORROR STORIES with Dolby Atmos HELL YES! It was literally and amazing DRAMATISED version of a horror story collection and I am so sad it only was under 4h long. I loved every second of it and for sure I'll listen it again for Halloween after a few years when I forget the details.
Masterpiece is an understatement. I strongly recommend this!
I loved the whole experience of the book and the way the author ready it. Each story had its own creepy feel to it and you were left feeling unsettled after each one. I would definitely recommend the audible version of this book!!
I've come to find if you have a werewolf story in your anthology of short stories I'm here for it and want more of it. This had that. The rest of the stories were very well done with interesting twists. I like the added sound effects for this as well, it helps with immersion for sure.
Fun to listen to. Each story was different and interesting. I liked the second story about the witches and the last one about the kids. Each one worked well as a short. Fun for fans of mild horror.
Each story stood out on its own, and got better and better as it went on . Celina does amazing job with her voices as she reads the stories. She also did a brilliant job writing the stories as well. I can’t wait to hear more and read more of her work.
Well read and entertaining but ultimately all the short stories were unoriginal and lacked everything apart from the basic plot. They felt like a storyboard and didn't have enough details to create suspense.
The sounds and mixing definitely help and contribute to the stories.
Absoulutely loved this one! Darling is my favorite story in the collection. Devils night is my least favorite but not because of lack of spooky. It just got under my skin as intended.
This is one that I would listen to again and again.
Each story is written with such skill its as if you are really there. You feel what they do. You see what they do. Twists and turns are abound. You got the spooky. You got the intrique. You also have resolution.
And! Its narrated by none other than Celina Spooky Boo herself! I absoulutely adore her and all her works. This one is no different.
