My family moved to Australia just after I was born but returned to England in time for me to start school. I was educated in Surrey and lived there until I got married. I now live in the south of England with my husband and our three children. We used to live on a fish farm, which we shared with 300,000 rainbow trout. We share our current home with a few goldfish and a white wolf cunningly disguised as a dog.
Jobs:
I’ve worked in a kennels, shops, pubs and on a mushroom farm. My first full-time job was as a laboratory technician and after that a teacher. I’m now a full time writer.

Favourite Things:
Family, friends, Spring (the season not the bouncy sort although bouncing is good, too), cappuccino, Danish pastries, Cornwall, the sea, books, animals, chocolate.

Litter, vandals, cleaning the house, having NOTHING to read.
Hobbies:
Reading, walking, cooking, hanging out in cafés.

Santa has a cold, so a talking cat and a talking mouse say "Bless you" to him a lot as his sneezes cause things to fly wildly around his home and workshop.
My daughter liked this when she was four, but we're both bored by it here twenty years later.

It's Christmas eve and Santa's caught a cold. How will he ever get the toys done in time? Luckily Santa's cat, mouse reindeer and other animal friends put Santa in bed to recuperate and they all pitch in to make the rest of the toys.
If you are looking for a cute holiday book that will bring on the giggles then pick this one up. My daughter apparently has a thing for sneezing characters and finds them hilarious (like in Mo Willems' Pigs Make Me Sneeze). She refers to this book as the Santa has the sneezes book. The story line is very basic but the illustrations are wonderful. Each page shows a different sneeze of what happens when Santa sneezes. Balls fall over, stars go flying and rockets tip over. In the end all of Santa's helpers complete the toys and Santa is feeling better by Christmas and is able to deliver the toys around the world. Unfortunately though the sneezes has been passed on to his friends. The last sneeze of the book ends up with everyone covered in snow. This is by far my daughter's favorite page in the story as she tries to find all the animals in the snow.

A funny story about Santa. He wakes up one morning and sneezes cornflakes everywhere. Everyone at the North Pole helps him get ready for Christmas so he can rest and get better. Cute illustrations.

My 4-year-old loved all the "mishaps" Santa had in this story. Santa has a cold and my child loved that every time Santa sneezed he blew things everywhere (his cereal, toy beads, pile of balls, etc) and he loved that after he delivered all the presents, Santa's cat came down with his cold. He sneezed so hard a pile of snow fell off a tree and buried everyone.

Santa gets a terrible cold on Christmas Eve. His animal friends save the day by putting the extra work into present preparation. By the time Santa feels better, all of the toys are ready to be delivered just in time for Christmas! My students love reading about Santa, especially this close to Christmas. Good book!

How absolutely cute! I am in love with that cat with the starry antennue. This is a wonderful story of helping your friends at the holidays.I want to give extra kudos to the illustrator for fun pictures that make the story!

I, as well as my 1st graders, loved this book. It was great book to read during the Christmastime! Also a great book to engage students b/c they can read along (everytime Santa sneezes)!:)

I thought this was kind of silly. Since when does Santa only have talking animals to keep him company? Where was the Mrs? And the elves?

Santa has come down with a terrible cold. His animal friends convince him to rest up while they finish up the last minute toys so that he's ready for his big night of deliveries.
