Alexander Comfort, M.D., Ph.D. (10 February 1920 – 26 March 2000) was a medical professional, gerontologist, anarchist, pacifist, conscientious objector and writer, best known for The Joy of Sex, which played a part in what is often called the sexual revolution. He was also the author of many other books on a variety of topics.

Here's the deal with this book—I bought it when I was in college to try to spice up things with my boyfriend. Did it work? Not really, but not because of the book. I then sent it to one of my best friends when she got engaged because I knew she was holding out for marriage. She sent it back to me. I still don't know if she actually read it, but I know she appreciated my desire to share knowledge with her. There are lots of drawings of hippies doing the hibbidity dibbidity, but nothing I would consider out of the norm for most people. I still have it on my bookshelf, but I haven't looked at it for years and years and years. You get the idea. I'd recommend it to someone who feels they aren't as well-versed in sex as they'd like to be. But, honestly, if there's something you'd like to know, you can ask me because I probably know the answer.

Very outdated, doesn’t seem to educate much in 2024. I guess it could be good for general knowledge on the subject for young people, but I would still try and find something more up-to-date. Beautiful pictures though.

A good companion to the first but much more about relationship. There are dated concepts and therefore it is not always politically correct. A thought-provoking and instructional read.

I read this while I was married. This is a great book for keeping the passion alive in a relationship. It's not merely a guide book on positions, but a lesson in communication with your lover. While the pictures within are somewhat helpful, they almost work more as inspiration as (at least to me) they fall into a theme more as art and sometimes lack the detail one may require for a solely tutorial nature. All in all, if you are searching for a book to help you understand your lover better then More Joy of Sex is a great tool for such an endeavor.

I bought this & its companion book from some remaindered book catalog while I was in college. The illustrations were great! So dated and 70s! Any revised editions would really ruin the magic, I don't want to know.
