Magical Cures mystery series #7. Cozy. Paranormal witch, small town series. Best read in series order.
June Heal is the first witch in Whispering Falls to take their magic nationally. She is doing it solely to help the town since the last economic downturn had been hard on the small town. When June arrives at the factory and finds them using the wrong bottles, and she finds a body, June realizes she’s going to have to help find the killer so that magic isn’t exposed to the world. Plus she needs to figure out what day to have her wedding.
Fun cozy revisiting the town’s quirky characters. 🎧 Best format is by audiobook. This series is performed by Karen Savage who portrays the characters with humor and a bit of small town quaint. While I did speed up the playback, it wasn’t as fast as usual since she speaks with a faster tempo than most performers I’ve heard lately.
I will finish this series as time allows.
Fun, no angst, plenty of bodies for a cozy but no gore. Entertaining afternoon reads.

This is the seventh book in the Magical Cures Mystery series, but the first one that I have read. I now going to read the first book of the series soon. There is a lot of characters that I can tell that they had a past but I did feel the book held its own.
It was a cute murder mystery. Half the characters are witches with real talent. They even have their own city but they keep there secrets about their talents.
June Heal is a witch. She just found out in the last few years. She was raised by her Aunt. Her fiance Oscar is a cop. She has her own shop, but she has sold her hand lotion that reliefs stress to a national chain.
Her first day working at the plant goes all wrong. They are not using her bottles but cheap ones instead. The bottles have the magical part. So when she sneaks into the plant she is caught and the owner turns up dead.
June is told by plenty of people to stay out and let the cops do their job. She can't.
June has a cat that she named Mr. Prince Charming, she also has a snow globe that has a personality and works like a crystal ball.
I was guessing totally wrong about who the murder was and why he was killed. There was plenty of drama, romance and paranormal in the book. It was also a clean read.

This was another good mystery in the series. June is about to have some of her products produced and sold. Until somebody ends up dead in the factory. Now she has to fins out who is behind it and why. Just like always she is able to solve it and all is well for now.

I enjoyed reading this book, is a magical mystery fun, enjoyable and original: there are elements of magic, paranormal, so much action, some twists and a murderess to find.
June owns a shop where she sells her potions passing them off as homeopathic medicines. Her products and those of other shops in the village are sold only within their community. June is going to expand her activities to the whole nation. But one of her potions is stolen and must find it before it runs out. Also is found dead the co-owner of Head to Toe Work and she must investigate to help to find the culprit and restore peace and serenity in the village
I really enjoyed the setting, Whispering Falls. This small and serene village is really amazing, all its inhabitants have some magical power and are very good friends with each other, always willing to help themselves with each other.
June is fun and interesting and I really like her relationship with Oscar: will she decide to fix the date of the marriag ?. Oscar is a sheriff really fascinating, has always been a friend of June, no one knows her better than him. One of my favorite characters, however, is the cute cat, Mr. Prince Charming

The residents of Whispering Falls have trouble blowing in on the wind! June Heal is right at the center. Hoping to help the town's finances, June agrees to work with a national products company, Head To Toe Works, to make her stress reducing potion available outside of Whispering Falls. Of course the magical elements of the concoction are secret, to protect the secrets of June and her fellow residents.
Humans have a lot of secrets too, and when June is in the wrong place at the very wrong time, she must bring those secrets to light to solve the crime.
From the very start, things do not go as planned; from a black butterfly to the wrong bottles being used, to June's store being ransacked, to discovering a body! Extra tension in this story surrounds the upcoming nuptuals of June and Oscar
Money, greed, power and secrets make dangerous combinations.
I believe you will love this series and the colorful characters if you read them in series order. This is great escape and relaxation reading.
I did receive a copy of this book for a tour in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book follows June Heal as she is working on expanding her business with Head To Toe Works company as they are launching June's stress free lotion, what she doesn't count on was the head Burt Rossen to wind up dead all in a single day.
June has set out on a new mission to find out who killed Burt Rossen and why? Is it the grieving wife who has been getting abused by Burt or his mother who inherits more than half the company with the death of her son? Or is it an angry worker who now has no job. The answer to this will totally baffle you I know it did for me!
June is also looking forward to her wedding to Oscar Parks a local sheriff in town and her long time friend turned fiancé. What she didn't count on was how quick the news would be of their wedding or that they were betrothed together since childhood. Neither one of them knew.

I am a huge fan of Tonya's writing, especially of this series. June is such a fun character, and her family and friends in Whispering Falls add to the enjoyment. This is the seventh book of the series, so by the this time the relationships and characters are well-defined and well-developed.
This time around, June goes to work outside of Whispering Falls....and discovers a dead body her first day on the job! Naturally, she can't control her desire to solve the murder, which leads her into trouble. I found myself totally surprised by the revelation of the murderer and the motive, but was pleased with the way the story wrapped up. I can hardly wait to see what is going to happen in book 8!

A fun, magical, & fast read like always! This series is a winner for sure and I really can't wait for the next book so I can read all about the wedding I have been waiting for!

June Heal is back and is having a go on selling her product at the national level. Well, that is if her deal with Head to Toe Works stays true to their contract. June and Oscar still haven't set a date for their upcoming nuptials since they just haven't had the time. Well, that is until baby Orin is born, and now Oscar wants to start a family with June. Their aunts think the same thing. June and Oscar have their hands full with their competing aunts on what is right for their wedding. I adore June as she's a great character, and I always love seeing how each spiritualist's power works.

June met Burt and Tiffany Rossen at Christmas time in Whispering Falls. She just thought that the stress from Tiffany's overbearing mother-in-law made her stressed during the holidays. Everything June thought she knew about the Rossen family was wrong after she agreed to sell her stress-free lotion through their company. June finds Burt Rossen by accident, starting her second day of work at the factory. Everyone thinks she did it because she was doing some voodoo magic. Determining to figure out who killed Burt was first on June's list, along with her wedding plans.
June has a lot on her plate with figuring out who had the best motive to kill him besides his wife. Tiffany wouldn't do it, right?! I didn't figure it out until a couple of minutes before June figured out who the killer could be. How about you?

I enjoy this book series. For the most part it's easy to read and intriguing.
Why 3 stars? Tonya really needs an editor or a new one. The book has too many incomplete sentences, or even sentences with incorrect wording. I can get passed that, but the other errors are annoying. She can't remember what the characters are doing.
SPOILER ALERT
June finds out her marriage to Oscar was prearranged and he knew about it. Toward the end of the book he's just finding out about the prearranged marriage.
After her store had been burgled, Oscar tells everyone not to touch anything because they'll need to take prints, and the store would be closed a day. A paragraph later she's refilling bottles and making a new potion! What happened to taking prints and not opening the next day?
The cat was getting white hair all over her black shoes. A couple chapters later June is telling someone "he doesn't shed".
Mac becomes Max.
I keep hoping it'll get better. If I didn't have Kindle Unlimited and had to buy the books, I would have stopped reading them after the second one.

June Heal, Whispering Falls own potion spiritualist has signed a contract with a company to market and sell one of her potions/lotions. When she arrives her first day, things are not as they should be. Security does not have her on the list, she finds the lotions being dispensed in the wrong bottles that were specifically specified in the contract and the new owners have a heated argument.
The next day, one of the owners is found dead so of course, June feels she needs to assist in the investigation.
While working on the investigation, June is also being pressured by her Aunt and Oscar Park, her fiancé’s Aunt in setting a wedding date.

Fun series, great light listen. I love the concept of the small town with the different spiritualists and their corresponding shops, a new one introduced each book. Plots are pretty basic, but I enjoyed the guessing. I've read all of the main books up to this one. The main character has more attitude and arrogance in this book. June was Oscar the boyfriend-obsessed previously, but in this book now that they're together, she doesn't seem as excited to get married as I would have expected. The author over-uses certain phrases to an annoying degree (e.g. she eases up on "my intuition" this time, but "sneaky suspicion is still going way too strong. )

I've been audiobooking this series and this far in, I'm choosing to not finish the book or series because I'm so annoyed by the MC constantly choosing to prioritize solving the case over being honest with her closest friends and family. Literally lying to her fiancee about where she's going and what she's doing is right up there in the TSTL category for me. It's unrealistic for this behavior to be sustainable, and it keeps taking me out of the intended storyline.
The inconsistency in plot points in this book specifically were also confusing, especially about the arranged marriage and who knew what when.

I typically enjoy the charming cures series. While the main plot and storyline was what I’d come to expect and enjoy, it was riddled with grammatical errors. I can deal with a couple here and there, but when there are several in a page or every other page, it just takes away from the reading experience.
This book is 7th in the series and continues with June Heal and Oscar Park’s engagement. Their love is steadfast and genuine. June finds herself in the midst of yet another death and plays detective in search of the killer. Mr. Prince Charming and Madam Torres continue as June’s helpers.

Such a really good book. June is excited about being able to put her stress lotion out into the world and help keep whispering falls on its feet. But things start to unravel. The company tried using inferior jars, then the manager of the company is murdered, then someone breaks into June’s whispering falls business and steals the last of her moms potion, and it just keeps going. June has to get this all figured out, plus figure out things about her wedding. Poor thing. Will she make it through?

June wants to take one of her products nationally, but it doesn't seem to work out the way she thought it would. She thought she would do this to benefit the town and herself. But, she barely gets started on this new venture when one of the people involved is killed. She is getting conflicting messages about the dead man and isn't sure who to believe. She is also trying to get her wedding plans started. The two aunts are arguing about how it should be. She just needs a little time to get things together. Can she solve this mystery and plan the wedding she and Oscar want?

Very solid addition to the Magical Cures series. June has grown so much over the course of the series, and I love she always has taking care of the town of Whispering Falls in her heart. I also adore June and Owen together, and really love the number of friends June has made since moving to Whispering Falls. I feel like June didn't have a friend other than Owen growing up, and I feel like her friendship with other women is part of her growth.
Very strong mystery in this one. I didn't figure it out, and hats off to Ms. Kappes for keeping me guessing.

A Charming Fatality
: Tonya Kappes
This is book seven in the series, but the first one I've listened to. A bit of murder mystery, suspense, magic and romance rolled into one tale. It was a bit confusing without backstory, but entertaining all the same. When I have more time I will go back to the beginning and see where it all began.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Karen Savage gave a good performance.

June is on the verge of greatness; having her stress releasing lotion sold all over the US, she is sure to be an instant success. But it doesn’t take long for that to backfire and become a huge problem. The world could use a really good stress relieving lotion, too bad that didn’t happen. I’ll take a case!!
It’s no wonder that Ms Kappes is such a success she has an incredible imagination and she’s a great writer. This is such a fun series, I really enjoy it!!

One of my favorite authors and series
I just love the small town and the one-of-a-kind characters of this series. Somehow different from other witchy stories, it is fascinating with the healing potions and familiars that are not your run of the mill kind. Thank you Ms Kappes for another very entertaining read!

Awesome Series
I can't stop reading. This series has me anticipating the next adventure and happily its always in a different direction and somehow makes the characters bloom a little more. Madame Torres is a hoot! And those "June's Jems" sound so good. Just such a fun series to read

Basically, June gets a money deal to mass produce her stress lotion. Unfortunately, one of the owners of the national chain is found dead. June decides to figure out who killed him. In the meantime, plans are being put further into place for June and Oscar to marry. The author certainly kept me guessing on the murderer. All in all, it was an enjoyable story.

June has made a deal to have one of her potions massed produced by a company in Locus Grove. Part of her profits will go towards Whispering Falls. Unfortunately, things are quite not as they seem. There are mysteries to unravel and June’s intuition will be put to the test. Good news – Gerard & Petunia have a baby!

Oh thank Goddess that this book was so much better than the last 2 in the series! Yes June is still doing silly things but at least she is listening to those around her more than before. Who knew that beauty products could be deadly! Hoping there will be a wedding in the next book :)

Fun to see June and Amethyst develop a friendship and work together. Always enjoy reading about all the folks in Whispering Falls. The planning for the quickly approaching wedding is fun to read. Good mystery and no shortage of suspects. Can't wait to start the next book.
