Forever, Never, After is the story of a marriage torn apart by lies and deceit, and how everything can change in the blink of an eye. Megan thought Dan was her forever. Ten years together and a three-year-old daughter meant they were pretty much settled and happy. That is until Dan gets attention from one of his university students. Ashley is used to getting what she wants, and she sets her sights on her married lecturer, stopping at nothing to make him hers. She’s beautiful, flirty, and daring, everything Dan didn’t think he needed until one night with Ashley makes him reevaluate his life and, most importantly, his marriage. When Meg’s world falls apart so unexpectedly, she has no choice but to face life as a single parent, something she never expected to be. Can she move forward while being forced to watch her husband move on? And what happens after the thrill of the affair becomes less exciting? Four lives are brought together—and torn apart—in a story of heartbreak, happiness, and love.

These two stars are for Hugo and a little bit of Zoe because she’s honestly an awesome friend.
I wish there were more Hugo and Meg scenes to balance the hurt. Scenes where we could see their future, maybe married, maybe with kids. I wished there was a karma for those two garbage characters who didn’t get their deserved comeuppance.
I also hate how Meg was portrayed when she was dealing with Dan. How she settled to split their assets in the middle when her dad and solicitor were encouraging she deserved more. How she helped them in the end.
I HATE that authors always ALWAYS write single mothers that is a victim of infidelity as a fuckin saint, goody two shoes, always thinks of others even if said others is the nasty piece of hot garbage bitch OW and the fugly, gross waste of space cheating husband. It’s honestly fuckin disgusting to portray women like that because this kind of portrayal is so rampant in these kind of books it is getting sickening. I want the female rage, all that anger, all that pettiness and then after it all, the indifference. Because if you’re trying to be realistic, this ain’t it.
I hate how Dan got out just slightly unscathed. Ashley will get her karma since the scumbag was on his way to cheat again lol not gonna lie I laughed on that. But in the end the author portrayed Ashley like she deserved to be redeemed. Her thoughts were nasty, she had no qualms about stealing a married asshole, she doesn’t care about their little girl. She doesn’t deserved any happiness. And Dan, Christ Almighty, he got everything! He got half of the settlement, he got his side piece, he got the baby with the nasty side piece, he got Meg’s compassion. I wish authors would stop it with the glorification of cheating and cheaters.
Another cheating book where the h is not petty. I don’t know why authors do this. After all, the h already has the moral high ground because she is not the cheating ho. I am not here to see her lecture her ex-husband about being nicer to the OW.
No. You cannot truly recover from cheating unless you are mega petty and triumph in all things. I expect, and deserve, at least a few of the following elements: – – Financial ruin for the ex-husband because he is an idiot or because he spent it all on the OW – – Premature aging for the husband and/ or the OW while the h looks better and more vital all the time – – The children barely tolerating the cheating ex-husband and completely ignoring or torturing the OW – – Ideally at least one scene where the ex-husband looks around at what he has lost and says, with tears in his eyes, “It’s really over, isn’t it?” – – Somehow, the ex-husband’s realization that the h is having the best sex of her life now. – – The ex-husband leaving the OW and begging the h to take him back, which she refuses to do, and the OW somehow being aware of this. – – Optional, but always nice: the h is hit on by all of her ex-husband’s friends and coworkers, and every fear he’s ever had about men who wanted her turns out to be true.
Is that too much to ask? I certainly don’t think so .

I like reading a cheating trope when it's done right. But ladies and gentlemen, this is not IT. I HATE it when the cheating scvmbag didn't end up in ruin. Like are you fvcking kidding me?! And redemption for the other woman who seduced a married man?! And oh, the wife who's portrayed as a forgiving woman? No, just no miss ma'am. I want slapping, kicking, hair-pulling, busting the cheater's balls so he could stop procreating and cheating—again. I live for revenge in cheating tropes but I never got one. Ugh.
In a book with this kind of betrayal, I prefer to see the husband and OW get what they deserve. I liked the fact that Ashley found out how it felt to know that Dan was already cheating on her; that was true karma. But, I REALLY didn’t like the fact that Dan was free to go his own way with his divorce in his pocket, half of their marital assets, joint custody of his daughter without joint responsibility, a brand new son, gorgeous young girlfriend and yet another mistress on the side. That took this book from 3.5 stars to 2 stars.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK or decent reads. ========================= S P O I L E R S . . . Megan = our heroine was betrayed and humiliated and yet she is nice to the two cheating scumbags who never considered her feelings. I would love for her to get revenge on them both in a memorable way by leaving them in the trash of their own creation.
Dan = Piece of shit who cheated on his wife with a young student and showed himself to be a bad character with no principles. I doubt he will change his path, he will probably collect countless exes, each one younger than the last and leave a trail of broken hearts. I don't feel sorry for them, because if he cheated on his wife with you, he will soon cheat on you with another.
Ashley = a homewrecker whore who didn't mind destroying a family as long as she got what she wanted and was with the man she knew was married and the father of a young child. I would like to see her totally screw up and get the karma she deserves.
Hugo = our real hero who was reluctant to open his heart to our heroine, but who proved to be a man of value. I loved his family and the warm way they welcomed our heroine.
So depressing. It's not the cheating so much as how quickly and how far the husband leaps from being a devoted husband and father to a cheating deadbeat that becomes anti-child. The opening scene where the three are playing together is shot down way too quickly.
And do cheaters, men or women, succumb to the machinations of the evil other somebody that quickly?
This was alright, but it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. I really thought it would be more focused on the h (Meg) overcoming her betrayal and moving on with her new man, but they didn’t get much of the page time.
In a nutshell this book has 3 main characters, 1 minor, and a slew of secondary friends/family. Meg- The wife that is cheated on. Dan- The cheating husband. Ashley- The homewrecker that purposely goes into it wanting to wreck the marriage. Hugo- The new love interest that seems like a nice guy but isn’t around a ton.
I don’t mind several POVs, I don’t even mind the OW’s POV. Jordan Silver does this all the time, but I don’t want her to have equal page time as the FMC. I just want snippets from her seeing her miserable as her life is falling apart. So, IMHO Dan and Ashley had WAY TOO much page time, and, too much consideration/chance for redemption.
The two were TERRIBLE people and deserved some comeuppance, not the h taking them under her wing and offering forgiveness. Where is the fun in that?
Bottom Line- The ingredients were there for a drama-llama ride, but the execution killed it. I didn’t want to sympathize with Ashley, I wanted to hate her. I wanted her and Dan to suffer. I also wanted more angst generated from Hugo being hung up on his dead wife. (I don’t think he was hung up at all) Regardless, too much page time was dedicated to Dan and Ashley’s POVs making Hugo and Meg’s relationship feel rushed and forced. They even took up most of the epilogue leaving us with no long-term HEA for Meg and Hugo. Pfft.

WOW! This book will make you cry, laugh, scream, and want to hit something. Then the ending pulls you back together again.
Meg is a Wife and Mother for over 10 years who dedicates all her time to her Family. She is blindsided in the worst possible way by her husband.
This is a Journey of what lies and deception does to you and how hard it is to move on once you've been betrayed. Then being able to finally heal and have peace.
This book has great side characters, as well as a hunk of a Hero with all the love in the world to give. *swoon*
The cheating in a nutshell-ish: @ +-40%: Heroine to her husband - not the hero: I caught you having sex with another woman in our home,” I add, shaking my head in disbelief. “You’ve spent the last few months sneaking around, making me think I was the crazy “one. You even turned it around on me, fully gaslighted me knowing I was getting closer to the truth. And even if I wanted to forgive you, I can’t, because I will never get the image of you and her fucking on my couch out of my head. You are not the man I married. I don’t know you anymore.”
The ow, Ash, the husband's affair partner, in a nutshell @ +- 45%: “Why haven’t you called or answered my messages?” “Meg . . . well, she’s not been well.” “I don’t care,” I scream. “I don’t care about your fucking wife.” He places his hands on his hips and stares hard at the ground. I’ve learned it’s his way of staying calm, but I want him to lose his shit. It’s when he speaks the truth. “She lost the baby,” he mutters. My mouth falls open in surprise, and I almost smile in relief before remembering myself…..” And: “I’m going to find a small place to rent for now, get the house on the market, and then we can look for somewhere.” “Wait, you’re renting?” I nod. “Meg is struggling having me around. She was going to move out—” “Then why didn’t you let her? I could have moved in, and we could’ve been together until the house sale.” I inwardly shudder at the thought of moving Ash into my marital home”
The hero in a nutshell @ +- 95%: SPOILERS❌❌❌ …“When I met Liz, I knew right away she was the one for me.” …“I was so angry when she died. I laid beside her on the bed for hours, refusing to let anyone come in and take her.” “And then one day, I was lost in my own head and I called my solicitor to finalise the details of my will, so that I could end it all after work that night. I wanted to be wherever Liz was, and I just needed the pain to stop.” Meg’s eyes are wide at my confession. “You wanted to kill yourself?” I nod. “But I bumped into you. I spilled your coffee, and everything just stopped. It was like we were the only two people in the park.”
NTS: SPOILERS: 1) check private notes… 2) double check shelves because a) Dan, heroine’s husband - om - is not the hero that she ends up with b) Ashley - OW is not the hero’s ow but the husband’s affair partner whom he ends up with c) Meg, the heroine, meets her hero, Hugo at just before halfway mark +-45% d) Liz - the deceased wife of Hugo, is his ow

I’m so upset that I read this book. Even after skipping most parts I’m just pissed. My review will not be in any coherent form.
I’d like to start this by stating I enjoy cheating tropes when a) the H does a shit ton of grovelling and earns forgiveness or b) h ends up with a better H and ex’s life falls to shit. What is the fucking point when everyone gets a HEA??
Dan is a shit cum stain who should have been left to dry on his mom’s carpet. Not only does he gaslight and cheat, repeatedly, on his wife with his student who is 10 years younger, he moves in with her after his wife caught them fucking in their marital home and on their couch. Once, I might add while his daughter was in hospital then he goes straight back to his home wrecking cum dump and fucks her again. And then gets her pregnant, and still tries to “win” back his wife, after he’s proposed to side piece with his wife’s original engagement ring.
The walking roach side bitch does not view his daughter as a package deal, and the stain lets her.
The divorce took way tooo long to be brought up let alone actually finalized.
All of Ashley’s friends are trash and I’m pissed they were made quite prominent side characters.
Dan needs to die.
I hate how side chick got her pregnancy to term but Meg lost hers. I hate how Meg then had to deliver Ashley’s baby.
I hate how we didn’t see the after effect of Ashley getting her just desserts because Dan was doing to her what they did to Meg.
I hate how Dan seemed more interested in the fact he now had a son.
I had how there was no vengeance or true karma.
I hate how Hugo and all things good didn’t get more screen time.
I hated this book.

I really l8ke Nicola Janes MC Club series. Yes the MMCs are complete Aholes but they typically redeem themselves and theres a HEA. I hesitated to read this book because from the summary and reviews I knew there was no redemption coming and the MMC wasnt necessarily the husband.
I was relieved that the fmc was a powerhouse and snagged herself a winner whole some other scummy mistress had to deal with the loser she shedded..I just wished the ex and the monsteress ( not I did not mispell the word mistress) were delivered more karma and the fmc wasnt so gracious with them . They deserved not a bit of grace or forgiveness. I feel most sad for the children amd yeah to Hugo for saving the day.

Was an honest look from the point of view of each person involved in the dissolution of a marriage, due to cheating. I got mad, then sad, but I couldn’t put it down. Each characters emotion was written carefully.
The author did a great job of showing an unfiltered view of an affair and the aftermath. I totally despised the hero. Absolute shit human. I liked seeing the heroine grow and the support she got from her family and friends. I also really liked that it was so realistic, no holding back the pain but not making it gratuitous. I absolutely loved her eventual HEA.
Binged this is in one day and definitely recommend if you enjoy your stories full of angst.
This book isn’t about a marriage in trouble. The couple is happily married, but the husband (zero) is tempted by one of his students (OW). It doesn’t take her much effort to persuade him. Soon he crosses a line, start lying to his wife (h) and the cheating gets worse and worse. He even smexes OW in public at a party where the h can see. They have no shame.
The OW is a complete b!tch. While reading her POV it’s impossible to have any sympathy for her. Same goes for the zero, he changed from a devoting husband to a lying cheater, even hurting the h with his actions and words, it’s unheard of. He tries to “win” the h back, but his actions show otherwise. He moves in with OW, has sex with her and even gets her pregnant. All the while saying he wants to fight for his marriage, but being in presence of his side piece, he falls back into bed with her instantly. Thankfully this zero isn’t the hero.
The h meets an amazing new man (H) but unfortunately the author made him a grieving widow. His storyline is realistic and it’s understandable the way he acts and even messed up at one point (no cheating whatsoever). But with the love for his late wife and the fact they would still be a happy married couple if she hadn’t died, it’s hard not to believe the h will always be second best.
The cheaters have a hfn ending, but with the way the book ended he’s cheating on OW already, while she’s in labour… he didn’t learn anything but OW is so desperate she wants to keep him at all costs. The ending didn’t satisfy me. Call me petty, but I want the cheaters to end up miserable. I hoped the zero wouldn’t be the father of OW’s baby. She slept with OM after an argument with the zero. Why include this plot when it’s never mentioned again? The zero knew and never asked for a paternity test. It was totally swiped under the rug. I want the zero to be depressed, sick with regret and guilt and being in pieces. And some comeuppance for the OW. The fact she got cheated on, only makes up for it slightly. I want full force karma, no sugar coating. The h and H have a sort of hea ending, where the h declared the H is her one. But I preferred the epilogue to be further into the future and also partly from the H’s perspective.
Pros: * Heroine doesn’t take the cheating husband back * OM is the hero
Cons: * Heroine is way too kind and yielding to the cheaters * Hero loved his wife and she was the one, heroine felt like second best * No real karma for the cheaters * No grovel from the zero * The way the heroine suffered after the cheating and how cruel the zero was, there wasn’t enough comeuppance * Hero made his appearance almost half way into the book
Safety: Not safe * Cheating (not between h and H) * OW drama * On page descriptive sex scenes zero and OW * Pregnant OW
Trigger: miscarriage (h)

I love a good cheating book and this one is 🤌🏻🔥 we get the story from 4 points of view. Yes the cheater, the other woman, the wife, and someone who the wife meets. It’s fantastic. Prepare to rage read because the AUDACITY of that man!! Best read of the year so far and one of my favorite Nicola Jane books ever. I would even read the secondary characters stories, hint hint.
The cheating trope is one I love but it is not often that the reader gets the perspective of all the parties involved. Knowing that we would get all the gory details of the affair made me so happy.
The author had warned that this would be a rage read and she wasn't wrong. The book shows the start of the affair between Dan and his student Ashley and the ramifications of their actions when his marriage to Megan implodes. I loved the way the author played with my emotions. The pure rage and anger I felt towards Dan and Ashley and the empathy and admiration I had for Megan hit me at various times as I was reading. I was happy she took time to evaluate what she wanted and wasn't pushed into a reconciliation from friends and family.
There is a realism to this story as I am sure lots of readers will resonate with aspects of this book. Ashley and Dan both come across as selfish and uncaring of how others will be affected. There were at least a couple of scenes where I wouldn't have been able to restrain myself from exacting some form of retribution 😡 If they did have any self awareness I didn't feel it. Megan somehow manages to retain her dignity and put her daughter above her own understandable feelings of anger and betrayal. I absolutely loved how patient and understanding Hugo was towards her. He really was the perfect man at the right time. There are four main characters and I will say they all ended up getting the life they deserved. Ashley may feel like she won the prize but I can't help feeling her life may not end up being all she envisioned. The only thing that was missing for me was a look at Megan and Hugo in the future which I would have loved to see. This was a great read that had me hooked from the start.
Ok, first and foremost, can we give Hugo a round of applause 👏. It takes a lot to love a damaged woman with baggage.
If cheating is a trigger, this is NOT the book for you.. but if finding love after heartbreak tickles your pickle. Grab a box of tissues and saddle up for the ride.
Dan- a supposed "happily " married man of 10 years to Megan with a 3 year old, he gets ( IMO) easily persuaded by his 22 year old student to take a walk on the wild side. " No one has to know" call it a middle age problem or just stupidity.. Dan let himself get wrapped up in Ashley and ended up getting caught by Meg in their own home.
Meg - 1 of the things I love is she never lost her compassionate heart, no matter how hurt she was or how much Dan tried to gaslight her or blame her for his wrong doing she still thought about what was best for her daughter and surrounding family and friends. She never let Dan bring her down even tho he tried his hardest.
The only issue I had is I really wish we could have seen Hue and Meg married with kids later in life.. but still a 5 star read all the same.
This is my first Nicola Jane book , but it won't be my last.
Do not even think about it! Everyday authors choose to write weak FMCs with no backbone. So forgiving, so kind, let’s move on blah blah blah…NO! I want petty. I want financial ruin for the MMC. I want his affair to ruin him so bad. When all of that has happened and he now has a receding hairline, no money, no relationship with his friend and kids, then and only then can we take a peak at forgiveness.
Women are not weak. We are resilient, and yes, sometimes we need a moment for the strength to set in after the tears. We aren’t mean but we are certainly not pushovers. For authors to continue to portray us as weak is a crying shame and I for one will not be participating in giving this book anything but a one star. Start writing shrewd ruthless women, who deal with divorce like a billionaire deals with their business. Because that’s how some of us deal with things that no longer serve us or betray us. We take the trash out but do so ruthlessly. Tbh I wish I could give it a -100 star rating but I’ll not be too cheeky. I’ll be forgiving. See, I know how to forgive…I just have to be petty first.😘
I can handle cheating stories where the couple doesn’t get back together and the hero suffers. I’m a little undecided on this one.
For one, I would’ve preferred way less of Dan cheating and being in his head before Meg finds out.
I do like that she isn’t a doormat, but by the end she is pretty forgiving and maybe I’m petty but I think you can be mature without being saint like? Oh well. For most of the book, she hates his guts so that’s good. (Although he could’ve suffered wayyy more. You’ll hate him 😂)
Anyway. She did get a new love interest, thankfully. He’s not given too much page time, but unfortunately I just haaaate a widow trope in books. Meg had to suffer so much with Dan to then be given a hero who loved his dead wife to pieces, feels guilty moving on, and was going to kill himself after her death. Yes, Hugo ends up being loving and attentive and you can tell he loves Meg, but I just personally hate that trope so it bothered me.
So overall, it did keep me interested and it has plenty of angst if you’re wanting that. Some things weren’t to my taste, so it was just ok for me!

Dan, was pure trash. Ashely was childish and immature. Meg was boring. Hugo was okay, but I lowkey didn't want him to move on lmao.
I do enjoy cheating trope books where the heroine is the ow - I really like the forbidden and the hiding aspect, it is hot af. But not here.
I didn't like Dan at all. He was pure trash, trying to get the better deal of the situation; be it with Ashley or with Megan. He lit had unprotected sex with Ashely then went home and had unprotected sex with Megan in the shower, I mean.... pig.
Ashely was flighty and selfish - She was young, I understand but she didn't care nor felt guilty in breaking a marriage, she wanted it, and she got it. Kinda felt sorry for her, because she ended up pregnant and married to Dan, it kinda looks that everything was okay but then when she was in labour, Dan was nowhere to be found and Meg and Hugo helped Ashely with the baby and when Dan finally appeared he was with his mistress, lmao, piggggg.
Megan, was meh. I really liked she didn't believe Dan nor took him back for once we say hurray! But her character itself was meh.
Hugo, is the real Hero here and I liked him. A bit boring as well lol. He lost his wife due to an illness and was ready to end his life and then he met Meg and voila. He kind of felt guilty but eventually, he fell in love with Megan. Meh, me wanted him to never move on 😇
This book was told in four POV‘s. The cheating husband, flip-flopped between wife and mistress most of the book. It was hard to read. The mistress set her sites on this man. He didn’t have to accept her advances, but he did. I couldn’t understand how this wife would be able to forgive him, especially after she caught him with the mistress, the love interest you think she’ll get with…then plot twist. The h and the cheating husband go their separate ways. I would add more, but I don’t want to spoil it too much because if you go on Facebook and look at some of the Facebook pages, there are people there that tell you just about every line of the book. I like a light spoiler but I don’t even know why people would read it after being told the whole book. rant over.

Okay, Meg was one amazing character, she was so strong, and had such grace, gosh! Hugo, wow oh wow! I wish everyone could find a Hugo after such a betrayal. Dan? Gosh I hated him from the 2nd chapter on, he was the biggest bag of dicks ever. Ashley? She deserves the ending honestly.
Please do not read this if you don’t like spoilers and swear words because this review is going to have them.
This fucking piece of garbage book was a waste of 4hrs to read. This fucking author honestly wasted my time and I wish I could bleach my eyes and brains. It really makes me think while reading this that this author probably experienced this book in real life as the other woman fucking Ashley. It’s because she paints in a view that Ashley should be forgiven because Daniel was a biggest piece of shit in this book.
The lowkey internalised misogyny was also peeving me off. Why is it that the wife has to be a saint towards others when she was the one that was cheated on? And that ending was fucking atrocious. It felt rushed and made the story distasteful.
And the fucking divorce was draaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggging. I was 70% into the book and not once had they divorced. And when they do it’s because he finally wants the divorce. I don’t know who I wanted to slap some sense into. Meg for being a fucking drag or the author for writing this obnoxious pull and tug I had to experience.
Believe me, the beginning was amazing!! The angst the betrayal was there and honestly I only read it through because I was expecting some sort of justice at the end. Instead I get the typical ending these authors with a warped mentality thinking it’s okay to make Dan have his cake and side piece was also ending fucking another new person.
I was soooooo disappointed with this book it was gold at first then turned into absolute garbage.
This would have been 4 stars if the h didn't become friendly with her ex husband and the ow at the end. Also I was hoping that that her ex and the ow would have had some sort of comeuppance but they didn't but you got the hint that he was cheating on the ow so she was feeling the same way as his wife did when he was cheating on her. That did make me smile also I would have liked to have seen her get revenge by taking everything away from him but she didn't. I thought she was far too lenient so the ending was not satisfying because he seemed to be the one who was left smiling as he had a house, a girlfriend, a baby boy, a daughter a friendly ex wife, a mistress.
