Leaving Miami was the plan, but Courtney never expected to do it behind the wheel of an archaic RV with the most hostile member of Team Rogue at her side.
Reed didn’t like her, which was fine. She didn’t necessarily like him. He was rigid. A stickler for the rules. Unamused by everything, especially her.
But the longer she’s stuck with him as her protector, the more Courtney starts to realize her impression of Reed might have been as wrong as his impression of her. And the harder it gets to ignore the chemistry burning between them.
Now, instead of oil and water they’re fire and gasoline, combustive and burning hot.
A flame neither of them wants to go out.
But the danger Courtney faced in Miami isn’t the only one threatening the happiness she never expected to be hers. Someone else is waiting in the shadows of Alaska, ready to test her commitment to claiming Reed, and all that comes with him, as her own.
Point of Contact is the final book in the Alaskan Security Team Rogue series and should be read after Line of Resistance.
It features: 🚍High-speed road trip in a stolen RV 🩹Hurt/Comfort 👿She's a total pain in his... 🍑There *might* be spankings 💞Enemies to lovers 🌶Dirty talking hero 👌🏻The banter is-chef's kiss-
Oh my gosh. This book was FANTASTIC. Fast paced, exciting, funny, and emotional, this story had everything I can hope for in a book. Reed and Courtney’s chemistry was so intense, I could practically feel the heat coming off the pages. Jemma/Janice is proving once again why she’s a one-click author for me.
This final book of the series follows Reed and Courtney on their way to their HEA. It is written in third person from an alternating dual POV. Though Reed and Courtney's story stands alone, as the final book in the series it wraps up some underlying plot points that cross the series. As a result, readers will get the most benefit from reading at least the last three books in the series (in order of publication) and saving this one for last. Reed has some complicated feelings about his job at Alaska Security. His eyes are opened to his feelings and judgements as he and Courtney get to know each other. I love his passion and snark. I love his fierce protectiveness of those he cares about. I adore his loyalty. Courtney helps him find his sense of humor and his compassion. Courtney was a lot different than I expected. Once I was able to see beneath her protective facade, I really admired her. She has a strong survival instinct and determination to succeed against the odds. She is observant, tough, and smart. She is also vulnerable., has abandonment issues, and a belief that she will never be enough for someone to actually like and care for her just for herself. Reading as Reed fell for her sassy, snarky self was fun. Reading as he builds up her confidence and floods her with love was a joy. Running from danger, they embark on a close quarter, high speed road trip from Florida to Alaska. Sparks fly the whole time with small eruptions of the heat between them. Once they make it there, then they finally take the heat up a couple notches and admit the feelings that they have developed. Fabulous dialogue, some heat, and a touch of suspense: this book perfectly ends this series by tying up loose ends and setting up some of the next things to come.
I loved this couple! I also loved this series and hate to see it end. I’m sure I’ll reread these books in the future. I must admit didn’t like Reed very much in the beginning but by the end of the book…that man is hot! He is a thinker and is angry about decisions he made so he could care for his elderly parents he’s also very Dom like if you know what I mean. The chemistry and steam in this one is off the charts. . He also a no nonsense person. Courtney is a poor little rich girl, never been loved, full of snark, not afraid to confront anyone and very feisty. She is like the boy who cried wolf. And when she really needed help no one believed her. After escaping two places being bombed these two set off on a journey from Florida to Alaska in a stolen ancient RV named Bernadette and the trip is hilarious. They have danger awaiting them in Alaska though as the attacks on Alaska Security come to a head.
I have loved every book in the Alaskan-Secutity series and Point of Contact is no exception.
Courtney is the perfect blend of resilient, snarky, head strong and persistent that finally wears Reed down makes him see beyond all of his preconceived judgements of her...and others. Reed has spent so much time and energy trying to compartmentalize and individualize every aspect of his life. But when he finally opens his eyes to the one who can handle it all, it changes everything.
A fine line between love and hate...
Courtney is the pain in the butt daughter of a drug lord in Miami, FL. She's like the girl who cried wolf at Alaskan-Security, calling out that her life is in danger....until it really is and they don't believe her... Reed never planned on this life, he wanted to be a cop. He saw everything in black and white, right or wrong ....until Courtney pushed past his wall....how far would he go to protect her?
I can't believe that I am at the end of my series binge read! Honestly - that is the best way to immerse yourself in these character's world.
Reed and Courtney have everything I love about this series, and I enjoyed their chemistry and steamy attraction to each other. The danger these two are running from puts them in some dangerous and unexpected situations. While Courtney has been a mention in this series before, I appreciated getting to understand her better. Her capabilities, ingenuity, and sense of self preservation were fun to follow. I love her style and spirit! While Reed professed his frustration with her sass and bratty behaviors, his underlying concern and affection for Courtney is sweet (and steamy).
I recommend this author and this series. I look forward to the next book associated with this world, and recommend reading others in this author's catalog. Worth your time, IMO.
The action in this book starts on page one and doesn't quit!
Courtney is a pistol in all the best ways, a spirit that won't be kept down. Snarky, cynical, sarcastic and attitude in spades but underneath it all a soft, kind heart. She doesn't back down from the shitstorm her life has become and we root for her every step of the way as she fights for something better.
This book had me ricocheting between arousal and full on laughter. Dang Jemma! You can write the heck out of those spicy scenes!! And the banter between Courtney and Reed is award-worthy!
And Reed! Holy hotness, where do I start with Reed?? Sizzling hot dirty talk and protectiveness off the chart! Watching him get to know the real Courtney, the woman behind the snark and sarcasm, and fall for her. OMG. Totally fascinating!!
Gah, Reed and Courtney were FIRE together. There's a fine line between love and hate and these two tangoed all over that line.
This book starts out fast and hard hitting as you get to see a different side of Courtney than we've seen in her cameos in previous Alaskan Security books and I was here for it all. Sure, she's a brat and spoiled Princess, but as she proves time and time again to Reed, she's also so much more.
As their story unfolds, Reed and Courtney unforgivingly break down each other's walls as they slowly realize they are exactly what each other needs.
I'm so sad to see the end of the Alaskan Security series with all their alpha men and bad@ss leading ladies, but I can't wait to see what Jemma has in store for us next!
Courtney daughter of a drug lord. (Princess). Reed works for Alaskan Security (Captain Sour Pants).
Courtney and Reed did not have an easy relationship. Courtney is a bit wild and wants attention. Reed is very stern and serious.
Reed and Courtney these two have explosive chemistry from the beginning. Courtney was in trouble, but has cried wolf so many times know one believes her, until she is a target twice. They left Miami heading to Alaska in an old wreck of an Can they make Alaska among all that is going on and have a Happily Ever After.
This book has action, suspense, danger and steamy hot scenes, an a chance at love.
I loved reading this book, escaping into the pages of Reed and Courtney’s story that was over way too quickly! Watching Reed fall and discovering the real Courtney. The layers revealed about both characters gave more incite to their personalities. Tenacity fuels their goals and protects their hearts. I expected plenty of twists and turns and got them. The action starts on page one and does not let up.
I loved this series, and while this book can stand alone, it is better if read in order.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Point of Contact is an exciting, steamy, funny, romantic suspense. The action starts from the first page, and has you not wanting to put this book down! Courtney is one feisty woman, and Reed finds out there is more to her than being a spoiled brat. Reed doesn't count on anyone but himself and doesn't let anyone close. But the more time he and Courtney spend together, the more they break down one another's walls. This was such a great read!
Just finished the book and loved it the suspense the drama and the chemistry between Courtney and reed was off the charts loved every minute of them together and I liked how Courtney was a strong character and did not give up on what she believed in.
Heat, heart and an HEA! This book couldn’t have been better! Reed and Courtney have been a part of the Alaskan Security world for a long time. They have been in the background, a bit elusive. Long-time readers have been waiting. Now it’s their turn!
The moment Courtney thought about how problematic she is, I knew I was going to adore her and this story! Jemma Westbrook AKA Janice Whiteaker is a master at creating problematic women that you want as your BFFs. Major thought shift about Courtney for long-time readers. She is not the same bratty woman who has been in the shadows. Loved seeing this tough, sassy woman become a survivor, willing to do whatever she needed to do, not just for herself but for Reed as well!
There’s a lot more to Reed than you think there is. At first, he seemed rigid and hard, but his loyalty, devotion, and surprisingly sentimental ways appeared as he relaxed with Courtney. A little bit at a time, his story and background are revealed. Admittedly, I cried as he shared his parent’s story. I loved his personal growth as his assumptions and beliefs about others fell away, and he let Courtney and everyone in.
Holy smokes, Courtney knows how to flirt, and Reed is her target! Reed and Courtney quickly became one of my favorite couples in any book I’ve read. What begins as flirty/antagonistic banter between the two hides a smoldering, physical attraction that eventually burned as intense as you could imagine. Some of the lines that she utters are the best I’ve read in a long time. She’s smart, sassy, and fluent in sarcasm!
The suspense is as good as it’s been in every book in this series! Just when you think you know what’s going on, there’s a twist that was an unexpected surprise. As usual, the Alaskan Security family, Courtney included, handled it all in their own way. It was a perfect wrap-up to events from the previous book.
I’ve enjoyed every book in this series, but Point of Contact is a special one! I was surprised by the emotional attachment I had to Reed and Courtney by the end. They turned pain into strength, and I wanted to hug them both! These two opposites bring together sarcastic vs. grumpy in an absolutely can’t resist way. Throw in a stolen RV named Bernadette, and I was hooked from beginning to end! Keep the books coming!
As seen on my blog ( Jessie's Reading Corner): TITLE: Point of Contact AUTHOR: Jemma Westbrook SERIES: Alaskan Security-Team Rogue SERIES ORDER: 11 of 11 PUBLISHED DATE: 12/22/2023 GENRE: Romantic Suspense RATING: ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 ----------------- I got this book as an ARC to read, but then life decided to crap all over me the final two months of 2023 so I was a bit delayed in finishing this book.
DISCLAIMER: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Point of Contact is the final book in the Alaskan Security-Team Rogue series. However, it is not the last Alaskan Security book. There are quite a few teams that Janice Whiteaker/Jemma Westbrook will be writing about in the near future: Shadow, Ghost, Beta, and I think Alpha is the other one, but don’t quote me on it! lol
This story had everything I came to expect when reading a Jemma Westbrook story; thrilling action, lots of suspense and a steamy love story!
If you’ve been with Alaskan Security since the beginning, you would know that Courtney had been one of their assignments early on. But it wasn’t quite her time to have her story told. Until now. And Reed, the final lone Rogue member, is her perfect counterpart! Their banter was perfect! I was laughing up a storm at their antics and playfulness! I loved that Courtney got Reed to smile, even when he didn’t want to! I loved how they took care of each other, and just how real they were!
The action in this book is super intense! I was holding my breath quite a few times throughout the book! I love how Janice/Jemma uses her words during these scenes! I honestly felt like I was watching a movie play out in my head while reading. (Passionflix, Netflix, I really think you need to look into making this into a TV series because it is fire!!)
I loved getting reacquainted with the other members of Team Rogue and I absolutely loved the heart to heart that Nate and Reed have later in the book. Something that Nate said to Reed that’s stuck with me is, “It’s almost like you can’t fall in love in your comfort zone," and I just thought that so profound as a perpetually single hopeless romantic!
I loved the scenes with Ghost too! It’s always fun when Team Rogue riles up Ghost and it’s members, especially Vincent!
I am really looking forward to reading more from Jemma about the other Alaskan Security teams. I especially can’t wait for Vincent and Zeke’s stories, based off of what we’ve been teased with! I’m not sure what story is actually next in the Alaskan Security world, but I can’t wait to find out!
Thank you Janice and Julie for the advance copy! I apologize again for my delay!
I love when an author makes their characters really work for their HEA. Jemma Westbrook is one of the best when it comes to that, and she really pulled out all the stops for Reed and Courtney. Point of Contact absolutely brought it all. Energy, action, epic banter, steam, and a ton of heart.
I loved watching Reed, the last single man standing in Westbrook’s Alaskan Security- Team Rogue series, meet his match. Especially from a heroine like Courtney. Because if you’re a fan of Westbrook, you know all about Courtney. But do you really? I mean, Reed thought he did. And, well, maybe that wasn’t quite the case.
It definitely didn’t take me long to fall in love with both of them. Reed and Courtney are so freaking steamy. Incendiary in the most incredible way. They’re both fiercely strong-headed, determined to do what they need to do to protect their lives and their hearts. They’re also both individually restrained by their pasts, until they find a way and a reason to move forward together. The layers they uncover and fight through prove just how powerful love, respect, and a little forced proximity can be.
Everyone knows Courtney is just a spoiled pain in the butt, but behind that snarky, entitled exterior, there’s also a determined and resourceful woman. One who’s also hiding some intense vulnerability and a craving to be seen and wanted, valued as more than just a pretty piggy-bank. And Reed—stoic, unflappable, detached Reed. He keeps everyone at arm’s length. It’s all too perfect that his walls are finally shattered by the one person he thought exemplified everything he should hate and fight against.
This story keeps you on the edge of your seat for many reasons. It’s also heartwarming and seriously swoony. And readers should be prepared for multiple twists and turns from the very beginning. Westbrook certainly starts and ends Point of Contact with a bang, and while Courtney and Reed’s HEA is completely contained within the novel, I definitely recommend binging the series as well. For one, it’s a fantastic series. But honestly, those little twists will have just that much more spark when you follow the fuse from the start.
This was an exciting book from page one. Courtney and Reed were the perfect enemies to lovers couple. Courtney was the daughter of a Miami drug lord and Reed was the strait-laced, rule following member of Alaskan Security who had been tasked with being Courtney’s bodyguard over the last two years.
I loved the banter between Courtney and Reed. They both loved to push each other’s buttons, but with Courtney being in real danger, Reed was able to see another side to the bratty, spoiled girl that had faked danger in the past. This book was a little different than the other Alaskan Security books. Reed kept himself separate from the other men and tried to keep his work and private life separate. In examining why he’d misjudged Courtney in the first place, he also had to acknowledge his resentment in working for Alaskan Security instead of as a policeman.
I loved the cross country road trip in the stolen RV. It brought Courtney and Reed closer together and allowed them to open up about the things they never vocalized. Reed learned that Courtney had never had a relationship she didn’t have to buy. And Courtney learned Reed had given up his dream to help his parents. Once they had a better understanding of each other, their chemistry exploded.
I also loved Reed’s mom. She was harsh and brash, but her love for Reed was very evident. I loved that she accepted Courtney so readily and was willing to become her family. Her interactions with Courtney were so endearing and I was almost rooting for their relationship more than Reed and Courtney’s.
This was a great way to end the series. I love that everything was explained and all the couples got their HEA.
Since every relationship she’d ever had was about money or power and she hadn’t paid anyone to save her from being a weapon to be used against her father, drug cartel princess Courtney Vasquez was going to have to solve this particular problem on her own. Escaping the thugs as her house exploded Courtney could only hope her Alaskan Security escort got here soon and if there is a God, it wouldn’t be the cute but rule following Reed
Reed always wanted to be a cop and resents working for Alaskan Security but the money and benefits let him do what needs to for a good life; he’s unhappy about being drafted to personally cut ties between princess Courtney and Alaskan! Reed’s surprised there’s police and fire surrounding Courtney’s house and her neighbors gaping, he’s more surprised when Courtney awakens him iin his hotel room. But realizes how badly she needs his help when he hears men sneaking toward his hotel room. Reed and Courtney escape minutes before the hotel is blown up.
Believing the spoiled, attention getting princess is telling the truth, Reed decides he can’t leave even Courtney on his own. During the trip from Florida to Alaska, the pair learn a lot about each other, Reed learns a lot about Courtney and just as much about himself while Courtney thinks maybe she’s found what she’s always wanted. Meanwhile, Alaskan is under fire from an unknown group, plus Pierce and Vincent can’t reach an agreement.
Though there are pieces to make this one of the better outings, to this reader’s taste, the outing didn’t reach it’s potential. Reed and Courtney work as a couple, Reed’s faults that are underscored had a successfully heroic save worked but the copious coupling and the rushed mystery didn’t.. Rating: 4.25stars
Walking the line between love and hate like a tightrope!
Reed thought he knew Courtney, knew exactly what she was...a needy, spoilt brat who had the he world handed to her on a platter. How wrong can you be? A road trip shows Reed not only how wrong he is about Courtney, but just how judgemental and unfair he has been to a number of people, it is definitely a journey of self discovery! And not all his realisations are good ones, he has some soul searching to do and a woman to woo. Reed and Courtney's relationship has always been combative and confrontational, but all of a sudden the smart mouth and sassy comebacks are more like foreplay and Reed cannot resist! Once they both relax their walls a little and we see the true Reed and Courtney, you will struggle to not fall for them, she softens his edges and makes him smile when he would normally grouch. And he gives her a safe place to land, he will always tell her the truth, but equally allows her to find her new self without judgement and with unconditional love. They are a really sweet couple together and I love how quickly Courtney falls for his mum and dad too...the family she never had but always craved. A fantastic read on Kindle Unlimited, although I am devastated it is the final book in the series. There is a new series starting next year and hopefully this will also be in Alaska focusing on some people we may have already met!

Courtney has been mentioned in prior books, but when we get to see her story up close it's actually quite different than how she appeared previously. She's tough and amazing and still kind and soft inside. She's got exactly the right mix of sharp and sweet for Reed. He learns a lot about himself as he gets to know Courtney. They are a perfect match in how they push each other and care for each other at the same time.
The mystery with Courtney and the team is interesting and fast-paced. Reed's parents are so sweet and the way they immediately embrace Courtney is so heart-warming. The rest of the team makes some cameo appearances so we can say good bye to them in this final book in the series. i'm sad to see the end of the Team Rogue series but it has been a great series to read!! i'm eagerly awaiting the reveal of who the focus is of the next book that has a title but no details yet! Authors that write suspense know how to keep their readers in suspense!
"Point of Contact" wraps up Jemma Westbrook's Alaskan Security-Team Rogue series in style, and it's a bittersweet goodbye to characters we've grown to love. This 11th book focuses on Reed and Courtney, a pair who couldn't be more different. Reed's all serious and about duty, while Courtney seems like your typical rich girl, but there's way more to her than meets the eye. The book starts with a literal bang and doesn't let up. As Reed and Courtney navigate their rocky relationship, we see there's a tough, vulnerable woman behind Courtney's rich-girl facade, and Reed, Mr. Unflappable, gets his world rocked by the last person he expected.
Westbrook's storytelling is a wild ride of ups and downs, making you root for Courtney and Reed all the way. Their love story is full of surprises and layers that show how love and understanding can break down even the toughest walls. While you can jump straight into this book, diving into the whole series is worth it for all the extra twists and turns. It's not just a romance; it's an adventure that keeps you hooked until the very end.
Did we read the same book? This started with some excitement, then went rogue, or non-Rogue. Nobody asks Courtney about what happened, although Rogue is usually pretty concerned with fact-gathering, since they're competent. They don't care who's responsible or how she escaped. I get that she regularly causes trouble, but forgoing information because you don't like the victim is downright stupid, and not like Rogue. Did the authors have to change the company to portray Courtney as more of a misunderstood, abandoned child? I think this really damaged the plot. After a brief chase from presumably the same attackers Courtney's story just stopped without any resolution. We never know who was after her. And I'm pretty sure even bad guys leave inheritances, but not in this world. And the big bad was so obvious in this book after the cabin explosion. The banter had its moments, but the underlying reasons for it made it less funny. Over all, this novel tried to do too much emotionally and not nearly enough with the plot.

Reading about Courtney in previous books, I thought I wasn't going to like her. Boy, was I wrong! I was hooked from the first page. Yes, she was portrayed as a entitled brat in previous books, but the more I got to know her, the more I understood her, much like Reed. She just wanted someone to like, no love her for who she is and not for what she could do for you, and she eventually found that with Reed and the rest of his team and their wives. Reed knew that he was one of the people that assumed to know Courtney as the brat she portrayed, but as they were on their journey he saw the real Courtney and fell in love. I have to mention the best scene in the book is where Courtney attacked Ghost with a chair to "save" Reed. That was epic! Another great book from Jemma Westbrook. Being the last book in Rogue, I cannot wait for the next "chapter" in the Alaskan Security team series.
Courtney has been mentioned in many of the previous Alaskan Security books and never in a positive light. So the way that the author has this character grow into someone who is so different from where she started from is just amazing. The Courtney we hear about earlier is spoiled, manipulative and has driven Reed crazy in the past. Here we learn that Courtney has grown as a person and learned from her past actions. Reed doesn’t see it at first and starts off treating her as the brat that she’s acted like in the past. As he gets to know her he realizes that there is so much more to Courtney. She breaks through the barriers he’s put up and watching that transformation is perfect! I’m still surprised at how much I loved these two! The banter is amazing and sassy, and when they get together, the spice is off the charts! Of course Jemma Westbrook writes her usual high level of suspense here so you’ll have a hard time putting this book down!
The moment I read the blurb to this book, I knew I needed to read the book! This book was incredible.
Courtney is definitely one of a kind. She has an attitude, she’s snarky, sarcastic and not easy to get along with but deep down there is another side to her and that side I love. She showed resilience and strength and showed that she isn’t one to back down from anything… she is a fighter.
Reed is delicious! He’s a dirty-talking, protective alpha hole that I couldn’t help but love.
Seeing how Reed and Courtney are together and their chemistry together, especially when Courtney’s guard is down and he can see the real Courtney. I can’t help but swoon!
This book was epic. I couldn’t put it down. It was full of action, passion, humour and heat!… those sexy scenes *Chefs kiss*
What a corker Jemma/Janice has given us for the final book in the Rogue series.
Reed and Courtney’s is a hot one in so many ways! They both drive wash other crazy and rub one another the wrong way.
Courtney, being a previous client to Alaskan Security has a bit of a reputation, daughter of a notorious drug lord, and total pain in everyone’s arse, who has a habit of crying wolf!
When Reed is sent to protect her, again, he’s the least bit amused, however on arrival finding out this time she really was a target throws a spanner on the works.
This was a great finish to a fabulous series, close proximity, plenty of banter, lots of heated moments, then finding out who is attacking Alaskan Security bringing this to a fitting end.
So sad this is finally over, I love this gang of misfits…..lets see what the next team has in store for us 😏
You're really going to hate these characters. Then you're going to love them so much you don't want their story to end. Courtney's been the bain of the security teams existence for what seems like forever. But maybe there's a reason why she behaves the way she does, and maybe just maybe underneath that thick cartel built skin of hers there might be someone willing to do whatever it takes to protect those she cares about. But you need to read this to find out what makes a woman like Courtney tick or fight. I promise you'll love it. I swear I even heard a WWE announcer in my head during on particular scene towards the end. Thank you so much for these great characters and their stories.
Courtney is infamous to the Alaska Security operatives as the girl who cried wolf. Reed despises her while she loves to rile him. When it turns out she is in mortal danger, Reed agrees to take her to the Alaska Security compound. Courtney and Reed's cross country road trip has everything: action, romance, heart, heat and laughs. As she fights for her life, Reed quickly learns the face Courtney shows the world is simply a facade. He finds the stripped down version irresistible and she challenges and excites him. We also get to see the other Alaska Security couples and the set-up for the next book (spin-off?) eases the sting of the end of this series.
I really enjoyed reading this book and can see me reading it again. Courtney is a firecracker with a lonely upbringing who acts out with all she meets. Reed, along with the other Alaskan Security team is tired of her shenanigans. They are snippy with each other and he doesn’t put up with her bullsh*t, which she actually likes. They bond together while on the run from the bad guys who keeps trying to blow her up. He gets to know her and realizes there’s a lot more to her. I love their witty and snarky banter and enjoyed watching them get to know each other and fall in love. It’s wonderful how sweet and understanding Reed can be. She’s also very reliable and loyal. They make a great couple. I recommend this book and this series.
I really enjoy the Alaskan Security books! They are fast-paced with strong/sassy FMC and ultra protective MMCs.
Courtney and Reed's journey definitely started with a bang (literally!). It had me hooked, and I wasn't able to put it down! I definitely enjoyed the road-trip aspect and the connection the two MCs were building while they were on the road (and after).
I felt like there were some unanswered questions to Courtney's story, so hopefully those will be answered in the next series! I can't wait to read more!
Thank you so much to Janice Whiteaker/Jemma Westbrook for providing a copy of this book to read and provide my opinions on.
