For a party planner in awe of the royals, daydreams fit for a queen might come true in a captivating romantic comedy by Sariah Wilson, the USA Today bestselling author of The Hollywood Jinx.

For as long as she can remember, Everly Aprile has been obsessed with the Monterran royals, especially Queen elegant, self-possessed, and living a fairy-tale romance. As for Everly, her career as an event planner has stalled—and so has her love life. Then a wealthy new client wants a sweet-sixteen party that’s fit for an American princess. Practicing her “What Would Kat Do” mantra, Everly offers to bring it to life by immersing herself in everything Monterra.

Call it intervento divino when she meets dizzyingly handsome and charismatic Max Colby, who’s relocated stateside from the Monterran kingdom of her dreams. If Everly promises to be his New York City guide, he’ll teach her the customs and culture of Monterra so her party gets a boost of authenticity. Deal. As their friendship grows, Everly starts falling—but for what? Another unattainable obsession? Max is such a dreamboat that surely he sees her as just a friend.

Her royal to-do list is in order. She’s revamping her life and learning to believe in herself. Maybe, just maybe, there’s a chance for fate to bring Everly her happily ever after after all.

Listen to me when I tell you this:
1. This book is for the hardcore happily-ever-after romance readers who love reading romance novels for escapism.
2. The guy is gooeey strong and top notch romantic.
3. The heroine is a bit too perfectly imperfect. You will know what I mean when you get to know her. She needs to see she’s the main lead!
4. The chemistry is winter lit cosy warm fire. If you pick up this book when you desperately seek coziness and comfort, you will instantly get it.

There’s the weird but reliable best friend/roommate even us readers can totally rely on.

The book reads so easy and the romance is quite comforting. It feels safe and enjoyable. The plot is simple and familiar. You will enjoy this book more for its familiarity.

Some despicable male characters you will surely meet. But you know our hero is pretty reliable and he also does get in trouble somehow. But you will like this book for all the reasons above. I had a fun time reading this book as soon as I got the ARC.

Thank you, Montlake, for the advance reading copy.

I just don't have the space to read about a 22 or so young girl idolize a taken man who is just using her.

Like why am I 32% in and she still hasn't grown the backbone to standup to him? Instead she's lusting over a new unavailable man. Pass

Sariah Wilson fans rejoice!!! She has another book coming out! Woohoo!!! And to all of those readers who haven't read her books, if you love clean books full of chemistry and delightfully funny characters, pick one up!

She's an instant buy/pick up her books for me! The second that I saw this was available to review, I requested it and instead of waiting clear until the release date (which is a few months away) I had to read it! And I was hooked and loved it! Another win for this author with me!

Everly is one of those characters that you love rooting for because she's wonderful but she doesn't quite she her goodness and you're cheering her on as she goes through her character arc and discovers her strength and worth! And I can't forget to mention that she discovers and cherishes the sweet and incredible friendships she has and gains! Her roommate Vella is the best! She's a bit snarky in some moments but she doesn't let anyone push her around and she's a fierce cheerleader for Everly standing up for herself and going for what she truly wants. We all need someone like that in our lives!

And then there's Max. I loved Max. He's sooo good! And the perfect gentleman! You'll love the chemistry and cuteness between these two. But be warned, Everly takes some convincing that he really likes her. It's a bit of a slow burn sweet romance at first. Then sparks fly!

The event planning descriptions were super fun, especially the amazing baby shower! Wowsers!!! So fun! I loved the ending so much!!! *Happy Sigh*

This one releases July 30, 2024.

Content: Mostly sweet kisses. Some mild innuendo. There is a scene where the main characters are kissing and it becomes more heated, he takes his shirt off but then they stop kissing.

I received a copy from the publisher, Montlake, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

Happy Dance! I always get so excited when Ms. Wilson puts out a new book, she is a definite auto buy for me.

I thought this was an enjoyable read, I loved the characters of Everly and Max. I especially enjoyed the growth Everly goes through during this story. She's a likable heroine with a fun personality, but definitely not perfect. I liked that she does a lot of self-reflection to figure out just who she wants to be. Max is great, so good for Everly. I love seeing and reading about healthy relationships. I love when an author is able to show character falling in like, not just love. They actually like each other and like spending time together. They also have super great chemistry! Wowzers!

This was a great book to read while we were doing a family road trip, helped all those miles just fly by as I got caught up in Everly and Max's story.

Content Rated PG+
Clean romance: kissing, some mild innuendo and one steamier make-out session that doesn't go too far. No language or violence. Some mild, casual drinking.

I have to admit that as much as I enjoy Sariah Wilson's novels, the premise of this one had me hesitating at first. I am not into royalty stuff or following the Royal Family or anything along those lines and I was worried that this novel was going to primarily focus on that. However, the cover is adorable and Sariah knows how to write a great romance, so I figured I'd try it out after all. I'm so glad I was wrong about what I was getting from the synopsis, because I really enjoyed this novel!

I loved the premise and characters. Max is my new book boyfriend. Soooo swoonworthy! Everly's best friend Vella reminded me of Meghan from Felicity. (I also thought of Heather from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend because the actress's name is Vella.) I actually found myself gasping out loud at times and then I ended up telling my teenage daughter what was going on because some things were so surprising (and sometimes wild) or I would get angry about something a character did. I didn't even mind the royalty references and ended up looking up the books Sariah wrote about these characters afterward.

I had a hard time putting this book down and read the majority of it in one day. Definitely a winner!

Movie casting suggestions:
Everly: Madison Lintz
Vella: Liza Soberano
Max: Jonah Hauer-King
Adrian: Ronen Rubinstein

Let's start with the good.
Max and Everly had good chemistry. I enjoyed the leadup to their relationship.
The roomate was also a highlight. I would read a book featured soley on her. She had enough backbone to make up for the rest of the characters. Unfortunately, that is the extent of the good.
The bad: Everyly was the most insecure lead character I have read in a long time. While I can appreciate self doubt, Everly was next level. I wanted nothing more than to get her a therapist.
The entire plot with the Royal family fell flat for me. That coupled with the fake name and accent was just a bizarre twist.
The way these two went from 0 to 180 and the ending dialogue was so corny it had me rolling my eyes.
It was a forgettable book.

This story was super cute and fun!

Sariah Wilson is one of those authors whose writing and sense of humor just clicks with me, and Party Favors is another winner.

Everly Aprile is a character you can’t help rooting for. She wants to become a professional event planner, but she has a crush on her boss who’s engaged to another woman. To help distract her from him, her roommate Vella takes her on a girls’ night out.

While they’re out, Everly meets Max Colby. He’s handsome, charming, and to Everly’s utter delight, he’s from Monterra — a fictional European country.

Everly is planning a Monterran themed party, so she and Max make a deal; Everly will be his New York City guide, and he’ll teach her the customs and culture of Monterra so her party will be more authentic.

The chemistry and romance between these two was fabulous! It’s a bit of a slow burn romance at first, but then the sparks fly.

As much as I adored Max and Everly, the highlight for me was Everly’s best friend and roommate, Vella. Her sass and sarcasm just made me so happy. She’s quirky, hilarious, and a wonderfully loyal friend. I’d love to see her get her own story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this closed door romances full of great chemistry, delightful characters, and an engaging storyline and a very happy ending.

Many thanks to the author for a gifted copy!

I’ve read almost all of Sariah Wilson’s books and I really enjoyed the Royals of Monterra series. This was a fun escape back in that world (even if not fully). My favorite parts were the banter between characters and well as their relatable senses of humor. A great Rom-Com.

Thanks for much for the ARC and the opportunity to read a little early.

A party planner obsessed with Monterran royalty can't believe her luck when she meets a Monterran local who has recently moved to her city. When he agrees to show her more of his culture, Everly is thrilled.

This was just an okay romance for me. I felt the royalty aspect dominated a lot of the storyline and I didn't like how insecure Everly was about herself, constantly putting herself down. On both these fronts, I struggled to feel the chemistry between our two main characters. I love reading Sariah's books though and will still eagerly look out for her next book.

😘 (some kissing, suggestive comments)

💭 overall thoughts:
This was a low-stakes, easy, feel-good read.
It’s romantic in a cheesy way, and sometimes that sort of escape just feels good 🥰

Everly is young & inexperienced with love/men, crushing on her older, taken boss. She’s his assistant, and he pretty much takes advantage of her, relying on her to do his work and not giving her the promotion she deserves.

When she meets Max at a bar, this man is like a dream. Attractive, kind, and wants to get to know her. She immediately puts him in the friend zone, before he can do the same.

They become friends, and Everly has a ton of growth, mostly because of this relationship. She begins to see what love truly can be, and how she’s worth so much more than she’s been made to believe.

This definitely had me wanting to go back and read Sariah’s Royals of Monterra series - while it’s not at all necessary to enjoy this book, Everly’s obsession with them had me intrigued.

🤍side characters:
Obsessed with Vella, Everly’s roommate & best friend - she’s the perfect black cat/snarky character with hilarious one-liners!

🎙️ audio thoughts:
The audio was perfect, I felt like Bailey Carr totally embodied the sweetness of Everly, and really fit her character!

This was an INCREDIBLY cute book, and it reminded me a lot of Wilson's previous "The Chemistry of Love." I really appreciated Everly's character development, especially her growth in the direction of her career. Max was a swoon-worthy love interest who initially seems flawless, but I appreciated the revealing of some flaws in the end to make him more human--its nice to see BOTH the in-love characters grow together, not just one. For me, however, I think Vella was the standout person, a dark-humored best friend who had the BEST one-liners! People in love being clueless about things related to the people they are crushing on is something that has always frusterated me about rom coms in general, and this book strongly relies on that archetype. I also would have loved to see a more satisfying professional resolution to the whole situation with Adrian, who I wanted to punch multiple times. Overall, this was a delightful summer read with a sweet romance, and I definitely would recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre.

Overall this was a really cute and quick read finishing it in one sitting. Although I didn't find the characters or dynamics that unique, I enjoyed the FMC and MMC, plus the typical sassy roommate/friend trope.

Every was struggling a bit with failure to launch situation. Having an unrealistic crush on her boss when she is devastated to find out he was getting engaged. When crying in a bar she meets Matt. A gorgeous charming man that turns everyone heads. She is shocked he would even talk to her. Matt is very sweet and just an overall good guy, which made the third act conflict hard to really see the issue and why Every would be so upset with him. Every also struggles with body image and overall self love. She can't see what others would love her or find her desirable. This gets a bit old after awhile.

Lastly what didn't make this book a 5 stars for me was some of the tropes that were chosen. They just are some of my least favorite, one specifically about Every, that I felt was shared but then never really explored. I'm not sure why it was in the book.

I would definitely read from Sarah Wilson again. This was well written and I would interested to see what else she comes up with in the future.

I enjoyed this story immensely, so very much!! My daughter wanted to know why I kept laughing out loud. She didn’t see that not only was I reading this new book on Kindle Unlimited, but the free trial also allows me to listen through audible. I couldn’t stop laughing and then I was swooning!!
I have read a few books by Sariah Wilson and enjoyed them tremendously, but this one? This is the one that should propel her to the top of well known romance & rom/ com authors! This places her up there with all of my favorite romance and romance/ com go to authors. This one puts her in the line up with Sophie Kinsella (because they’re swoon worthy, but mostly closed door romances), funny as can be and up on my list with Katherine Center, Abby Jimenez, Christina Lauren, Ali Hazelwood, and all of the great rom/com writers!
This is a 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ book! You will NOT be disappointed!! You will also want to dive in deeply to her entire oeuvre of novels!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Another sweet, cozy, and romantic story from Sariah Wilson. I enjoyed this as much as "The Hollywood Jinx" and "Almost Like Being in Love". I really liked Everly and Max as well as the supporting cast of characters including Everly's boss who I loved to hate.

There are references to characters from "Royal Date" but this is a stand-alone story.

No profanity and PG kissing.

Party Favors was the most adorable happily ever after story.  It will give you all of those princess finds her knight in shining armor surrounded by a cute story vibe.  If you’re looking for a book that has all the Hallmark feels, add this one to your tbr!
Max Colby was completely out of my league.

Everly Aprile was so easy to like, even if she thought the world of her d-bag boss, Adrian.  But that’s because she had a lot of growing up to do.  She definitely made a few mistakes in these pages, but watching how far she came from that first page to the last was beautiful!  Also, I loved Everly’s relationship with her roommate Vella.  Vella cracked me up with her mannerisms and words.  I loved how she was so tough on the exterior, but then a big ol marshmallow when it came to Everly.
“Shall we?” he asked, and he offered me his arm.
It was so old- fashioned and romantic that I had to swallow back the nervous but excited lump in my throat. “We shall.”

During a chance meeting, when Everly was extremely low, she met Max Colby.  And Max was suave and charming to say the least.  From there a friendship formed that was heartwarming.  Especially since Max was such a good guy that was sigh worthy.  He was protective, caring, thoughtful and I loved how kind he was to Everly.  Their interactions were adorable, fun, and I loved watching their friendship progress to more.
There was so much love in his bright blue eyes as he looked at me, gently caressing my face. “You know how our fairy tale ends. Happy Everly after.”

Party Favors was a story that will cheer you up, has the most fabulous happily ever after, a kind book boyfriend and a heroine you’ll love to watch grow.  This book was an easy read, and I loved listening to the audio in KU too.  I always enjoy a book by Wilson and can’t wait to see what she writes next!

First thought: A lot of little girls want to grow up and be a princess and find Prince Charming, this book is a love story to that little girl. It is a very sweet & cute read but be warned it is a very slow burn. I liked the party planning aspect a lot it was fun. I would recommend this book if you like any of these tropes.

Everly is a southern girl who grew up watching the royal family of Monterran, she knows she’s not going to marry a prince but she could hope right. She moved to NYC to work as an event planner and she is thriving in all things works. But her social life is another thing, she’s been crushing on her boss. Who just uses her and the final blow was when she helped with errands so he could fly off to propose to his girlfriend. That’s ok Everly will move on, she got an opportunity to lead an event and plan it on her own - this is her time to shine.

Max couldn’t resist a woman in a bar curled up crying with his dog, he didn’t know what drew him to her but he had to go over there. That’s when he found out the women’s an event planner and trying to plan a Monterran theme party. Max so happened to know a thing about that having grown up there, so he offered to help. One thing lead to another and their time sitting at the bar lead to an unlikely friendship.

Could Everly have found more than a friend in Max? Could he secretly be her Monterran Prince she always wanted, it’s hard to tell as she keeps getting mixed signals. You have to read this one to see how it all unfolds.

Literally Themes you’ll find:

* Strangers to Friends to Lovers
* Event Planner x Philanthropist
* Slow Burn
* Based in NYC
* Virgin FMC
* Hidden Identity MMC
* Fairytale Vibes
* Single POV
* Only Kissing 💋

I didn't look into this. Sariah Wilson has written a few books I really enjoyed so I decided going in blind would be perfect.

A party planner in awe of the royal family of Monterra, Everly April is eager to get her career off to a solid start by pitching her first event to one of her company's clients - a Monterra themed royal birthday for a 16 year old. When she lands the event contract, her roommate takes her to a Monterra themed bar to soak up all things Monterra. There she meets a man that seems too good to be true. Max Colby has the sweetest accent and is from Monterra. They connect, and the entire time Everly is convinced he isn't attracted to her. But spoiler alert - he is - and that's not even the biggest hurdle they'll have to clear.

This was a bit too corny in the narration for my liking. It just seemed like the narrator was a teenage girl daydreaming about her perfect prince. I might have connected with it 20+ years ago, but now I'm not the right audience for this type of romance.

Overall, Party Favors is a cute story that is very much in the typical vein of Sariah Wilson. It was a tad cutesy for my taste, and I thought Vella (our heroine’s best friend) added some nice levity and humor to the story. I had a very hard time with how insecure Everly was, constantly thinking about and telling Max how she wasn’t good enough, no one ever liked her, and she couldn’t believe he would be interested.

I was given the lovely opportunity to read this book in advance, but got a little distracted in July so I didn’t finish before it released, but that’s good because now y’all don’t have to wait to go read it! I loved this book! It was just the sweetest story full of heart warming moments. Don’t get me wrong, there were a few tense moments and I got a little nervous watching the page count (IYKYK) but the epilogue was EVERYTHING!!!! I will never pass up a Sariah Wilson romcom!

I love how Sariah was able to build the world of Monterra into this story. I have missed Nico and Kat!

This was a wonderful tale of misunderstandings and fear of truly being in love. The heroine worked through a lot in order to see the value of a true friend AND what real love is.

If you need to sit back, relax, and enjoy witty banter and a very supportive, if not a little quirky, best friend, pick up Party Favors! It is a perfect book for your summer reading plans!

I love a good RomCom so I had high hopes for this book. I had a very different takeaway than most of the other reviews so it could be a me thing lol The two MC’s were just too cheesy and naive for me. I had a hard time hanging in there with the storyline and almost quit reading it several times. With that said Vella, the BFF, was my very favorite characters and I’d probably read a book about her. I also like how the author touched on women supporting women in the work place. If you love a good cheesy Hallmark movie you’d like this book😊
