I ordered this book from TikTok shop during a Black Friday deal. I just got around to reading it. Although it did have a slow start, it was just amazing. I think it felt slow because I had to learn so many characters in the beginning. Once I figured out who everyone was, it ran so smoothly. Aedrik is the ruler of West Jesimae, which is considered the criminal world. He along with his twin brother Aedrain, and their sister Ashdan, are kidnapping Prince Emyr. But you learn the so called bad guys are actually the good guys and they’re trying to help their country and do not plan to harm him. His father, the king is not good, but it’s The Daeva that seems to really be behind all of the trouble. It’s sort of Robin Hood with more than one hero, not stealing to help the poor, but trying to fix the country so that it’s better. Of course with some magic it turns it into such an amazing fantasy book. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

If you like epic adventure fantasy that keeps you guessing at every turn you need to read this book!
I laughed, cried, shouted, danced on the f'ing spot with excitement reading this book. I only put it down because I had to work. All the characters now hold my heart in a vice. I NEED book 2 like I need to breathe!
And the ending broke me in the best and worst ways! There is a cliffhanger, so fair warning if that is not your thing, but it's perfect for the story so far and sets up perfectly for the next installment.
S E Zell has captured my heart with this book and I look forward to her future work. There aren't many authors I would say I will read whatever they publish, but for this author I will!

Looking for a quick read on the fantasy side of things, this is definitely a must grab. I love all these relatable moments, sibling banter, chosen family and not forgetting lessons within from betrayal given by those closest to us. Bed bound and I still couldnt put it down till maybe my head stopped throbbing, the pull was too strong I just had to finish it within the day. I was taken on an adventure, discovering Jesimae with the twins Aedrik & Adrian, along side their bada$$ younger sister Ashdan, as they set out on a mission to kidnap the crown prince. Well it wouldn't be a good book if everything was smooth sailing would it? They met their fair share of obstacles along the way, split ways, but all roads led to one destination. Past truths uncovered and true identities revealed. Will the bond between the siblings be strong enough to survive the biggest betrayal thrown their way? Read to find out more ..... Can't wait to dive into book 2 ❤️❤️

This book was action-packed, and I love a strong FMC! Cliffhanger incoming, though, so we'll have to wait for book 2 to see what happens!

An amazing debut Novel by Zell!
I love some skullduggery and magic, and this book delivers in troves.
Following a group of roguish magic users as they try to uncover who has been disrupting their hold on the underworld.
The pace is fast from the word go, and the journey you are taken on has constant twists and turns.
An amazing read, and I'm super glad I don't have to wait long for the next!

captivating story!
Love this entire book! The magic system is a fresh twist. My one “complaint” is that I wish it was longer; with several main characters I really wanted to delve deeper and get to know each one more. Honestly this book could be 500 pages and I would happily read it all.

This was a great read. It flowed well and the author did a good job distinguishing differences between all the characters. Loved the fight scenes too!
