The moon and the star gods have given me my mates…but one of them is my enemy.
When I finally have a place to call home, I’m taken away from it just as the fae launch their attack on the pack. Rueven—the dark prince of the fae—sweeps me off to his home and says he is never letting me go. He showed me mercy but now he wants my heart.
My alphas will come for me. They won’t let me go either. And yet as I explore the beautiful and magical world of the fae, everything I have learnt about is thrown into question. Are they the villains? Or can they be so much more?
I might be the first omega in decades, but I’m also the first fated mate to cross the stars in centuries. When I go into heat, I need my mates close to me, now more than ever, even if they all don’t get along…
Even if they want to kill each other.
I’m Verena Redrook, half wolf, half fae, and I’m going to fix this vicious world.
These Vicious fae is a full-length Omegaverse romance with possessive alpha males, found family, strong female characters, and a main character doesn’t have to choose. This is book two in the Chrysalis Pack series duology.
G. Bailey is a USA Today bestselling author of books that are filled with everything from dragons to pirates. Plus, fantasy worlds and breath-taking adventures. Oh, and some swoon-worthy men that no girl could forget. G. Bailey is from the very rainy U.K. where she lives with her husband, two children and three cheeky dogs.
This second book definitely felt like it needed some work. The conviction between characters felt stilted and didn't flow well. The MMCs felt a little Gary Stu-ish, with opinions and prejudices falling away like magic. It just didn't work for me overall.
How bad it got! 🧐 I didn't understand the transition between the end of the first book and the beginning of this one...🤷🏻♀️ What was real? Then I lost quickly interest...
I read both books in the Duet back to back in 3 days! I really enjoyed the story and that everything gets wrapped up nicely.
We pick up where book 1 left off with Rune taking Verena to the fae lands. But she is quickly reunited with a familiar face and tries to get back to her Alpha Mates. Verena also starts to go into heat and confirms that she has 3 fated mates.
This book brings the romance, the heartache and the action.
I loved the premise of this book but the execution did not work for me. Everything felt rushed and like something was missing. The characters, especially ones introduced in this second book, felt very flat. I think the authors were trying to have too much happen in too short a book. The beginning in particular didn't quite match up with the ending events of the last book. For me, I'd say this book is just okay.

I loved the plot of these books but just felt like everything was too rushed, especially this second book. These books could’ve been incredible if spread out over 3-4 books.
PSA: I am not a seasoned reader or great at articulating my thoughts. This is just my opinion. Love what you love!
Actual Rating: 2.5 Stars
I'm not going to go into my usual detail on this book as I did the first because it was so short. I'm really not sure why the series wasn't just made into one larger book but it is what it is. I was surprised that this book was better than the first one, but maybe it was because I had lower expectations.

~*~*~*~Character Reviews~*~*~*~
All of the character stuff that I mentioned for book 1 is pretty much the same. We get verification that Rueven is also Verena's mate so she has three going on by the end of the series. I saw this one coming from the initial story and how lusty she got after him despite everything going on. I must have known at some point this book was a reverse harem but forgot between finding it on romance.io and adding it to my 'to read' list here.
I love the brief introduction of Elemence and Kris 2.0. Even if they came in at the very end of the book, their addition was sweet and welcomed. Elemence was adorable and probably the best character in the book save original Kris. .
~*~*~*~The Good and the Bad~*~*~*~
The Positives: The positives were mentioned above with the additional supporting characters. There was a bit more action in this one that flowed better than the first book. I liked that this book was shorter as I was able to get through it pretty quickly once I sat down to read it. I think the concept for this whole world and story was really interesting, it was why I picked it up in the first place, I just wish the execution had been better.
The Negatives: All the negatives from the first are still there, as I said above. The characters are all very surface level and the insta-love just has me rolling my eyes. Everyone is totally cool with sharing and suddenly best friends/brothers after years of hating each other. The author is very much a 'tell don't show' kind of writer. She doesn't show the Alphas being bad-asses, she has to have them explain it on their POV chapters and puff themselves up as they think about how amazing they are (and yet Verena is always getting hurt or kidnapped on their watch). The bad guys are so over the top and prove their badness by calling Verena a whore every chance they get. Can we be a bit more creative than just calling a female a bitch or a whore?
~*~*~*~Questions to Consider~*~*~*~
Would I Buy the Book? No. This was just a quick read to finish off the series.
Would I Re-Read the Book? No. I debated even reading this but really wanted to find out what happened in the series.
Will I Continue the Series? No. This is the end of the series and I am not interested in reading anything else by the author.
"Until you meet me here, in the stars, with the moon watching."
I liked this book, it was simple, no complex layered problems. They had an enemy, they had a plan, and when push comes to shove a Heroine saves the day. Actually, 2 females save the day. It was in multiple point of view, but it didn’t tell you who it was. It became obvious the longer you read into the chapter. It wasn’t amazing, but it was really good. The whole omega/knotting thing wasn’t a thing in the book even though it had been previously mentioned. There was a few things that varied from different alpha omega books, this one included fae, the female lead character being half of each and also an omega. It’s explained why omegas are so rare when other books just talk about how it’s rare to birth omegas. Being a hybrid gives her a unique coat of fur? Or crystals? Crystal fur? Trying to imagine it is kinda fun. It as a decent book. I enjoyed how the climax matched the build up and tension throughout the 2 books. I felt it had an appropriate length that allowed the reader to see the good guys prevail. I enjoyed the epilogue, getting to see their life after the battle, it ended perfectly.
"These Vicious Fae" delivers a compelling blend of romance, heartache, and action. The battle scenes are intense, and the depiction of potential peace is hopeful. This fantasy reverse harem novel features possessive alpha males, found family, and strong female characters. Verena, with her family loyalty and bravado, is a character readers will admire and root for.
The plot, which picks up from the first book, immerses you in a captivating fantasy world that makes you forget reality. I devoured both books in the duology back to back in just three days! The story is engaging, and the conclusion wraps up everything nicely, leaving readers satisfied.
If you're a fan of Omegaverse romance with a fantastical twist, "These Vicious Fae" is a must-read. It’s a beautifully written, super fun adventure filled with romance, action, and unforgettable characters.

This series desperately needed longer books or even a third one. Each book is around 200 pages or less. I loved the characters but there just wasn't enough development for our FMC to go from " I don't want mates" to "I love them". This story is well written but it was really missing some key details.
We have one character introduced without much fanfare only to be red-shirted. That was disappointing.
Just needed more in the relationship development, character development, and plot that slowly comes together. What exactly happened to Bane and his dad? That felt unsatisfying.
It's just short of a 5 star read for me. I hope the authors decide to come back and expand on these characters. Ms. Bailey seems to have a couple releases this month and I wonder if this series was an afterthought, because that would be a shame.
Imagine my surprise when These Vicious Fae was announced, I've been waiting forever for the next book Chrysalis Pack Book. As it turns out it's a duology and this is the final book.
Bailey and Snow really created a beautiful backdrop in this one. Laz's pack lands was a place of wonder and the perfect backdrop for a fantasy read. This story was fast-paced and somehow managed to wrap up all the loose threads. The Harem has finally come together and I loved seeing Verena in action. Plus, we get some much-needed answers about her. There were a few emotional moments and the epilogue was great.
This was a quick read with little angst, a little steam, and a lot of adventure. These Vicious Fae wraps up G. Bailey's and Scarlett Snow's Chrysalis Pack duology perfectly.
I really liked this final book within the Chrysalis Pack series. Taken away from her other mates by Rune and spirited away to the Fae lands, Verena’s wolf finally emerges. While there, she sees her adopted mother again who helps her get back to her other mates, and they end up in Lazuri’s territory. While there, Verena ends up going into her heat and thankfully Rune wasn’t too far away since she needs all of her mates to make it thru this.
And of course, they have a big fight on their hands with Rune’s father who brings the fight to them. I loved the ending with a look into the future.
When Rueven steals Verna away from Lazuri and Elias things could have went horribly wrong. Luckily with the help of her adopted mom she's able to find her way back to her Alpha mate's. But when she finally gets the chance to talk to another Omega she finds out that when she goes into heat she's not going to need just one or two of her mates but all three. Get War is on the horizon. I was sad to see this book and because I enjoyed it and the characters.

The conclusion to this duet was amazing. I truly enjoyed reading this book and was sad to see it end. This book was packed with action, emotion and steam. The conclusion was well worth the wait. I can't wait to see what this amazing author will bring us next.

In this book my emotions were up and down, sometimes due to joy and other times due to sadness. In general, the story is good, although in my opinion everything happened a little fast, but it is worth reading both books on this biology if you want something short and don't know what to read. The characters were great. super recommended.
The story is a good one but I feel like so much more could have been done. I love the concept of the half-wolf half-fae wolves being powerful and having crystals. It was neat. I just think that it needed more...
Verena is back and so are her mates as they have a few problems to deal with. Her pack is attacked, mates to the rescue with some action, steam, and drama. Just a fun and entertaining read. Had to see how it would end and the trouble everyone must go through to get their happy ending.
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters. I'm glad everything worked out for them and they got rid of the fae king for what he was doing to the half wolf and half fae.
This book let the duology down in my opinion. Too short for all the plot it was trying to fit in. Was so sad as it had all the makings of a great story.
The first part was a repeat of the ending of book 1 but they don't match. Their other books are better x
The transition between book 1 and book 2 was really confusing and I felt like from that point on things didn’t exactly line up with the first book. I finished it anyway but it was nearly a DNF.
I was lowkey looking forward to them catching that nonsense Alpheris and Bane, so she can finally get her revenge. I’m disappointed that didn’t happen.
3.5 Pasan demasiadas cosas para lo corto que es ... Me ha gustado pero hay muchas cosas que se sienten súper precipitadas no se, un ppco raro todo... meh
