Just OK

It read a bit juvenile and the characters kind of cheesy. Namely, Devin. Think you’re stereotypical demon and witch. All the things you’ve seen on TV.

Also, Devin kind of read as a try-hard romantic with a sensitive side, but it read as super cringe. Especially the text message interactions. 🥴🥴

I gave it 3 stars because it was not overly bad, but if didn’t vow me either. It was just a way to pass the time. Which was unfortunate because it had a strong start for me.

Shante and Devin were very sweet together and had instant chemistry. Their meeting was pretty disastrous, but Shante was able to see the real Devin pretty quickly when he wasn’t raging out. I liked the Shante always made an effort to check her biases about demons. She was very safe for Devin. Devin was dedicated to winning her even though she’d made it clear, and continued to make it clear that she didn’t want to date an Alpha. Both MCs had their own personal growth arcs involving self acceptance and overcoming fears. The overarching plot was interesting and rather depressing, with a lot of persecution and segregation of demons. The world had a lot of parallels to modern society and the continued aims of making some groups of people “othered”. I’m not the biggest fan of 3rd act breakup vibes, but it fit into the story.

Spice: 4.5/5

Triggers: violence, gore, dismemberment, violence and gore involving children, murder, death of innocent people including children, racism including segregation and unequal civil rights, classism, adoption trauma, discussion of child bullying, discussion of death of sibling, mind control, dubcon grinding (while MMC is not in control of his mind or body due to rage episode)

It Was Kinda Sweet but Didn't Feel Deep Enough

*****Spoilers*****

Devin is a berserker demon and a detective and Shante is a witch doctor who can heal with her powers or medicine, and she also has some minor mind control powers. The two meet when Shante and other aid-minded volunteers to go to demon territory after a hotel bombing terror attack on their community. Shante is magically healing injured demons and is running a bit low on power when she sees several beings wrestling with a demon on the ground. That demon is Devin. Shante figures her mind magic may be able to help get the demon under control so she trots over to assess. With the other beings barely holding him down, Devin is lost in his rage over the bombing but settles when Shante touches him. It's great for many reasons, the least of which because all of those beings were barely strong enough to keep him in place. With the cooling of Devin's berserker rage comes his Alpha senses and Shante smells like Omega and his. Still not quite back to his full mental coherence, Devin's instincts take over and he flips on top of Shante and cocoons them both within his wings, followed by a lustful inhale of her neck then a lick.

Shante is tempted to let Devin's Alpha claim her except she doesn't like alphas. They're good enough to help her though her omega heats but not for dating material. Part of the reason she's afraid of an alpha bond is because her sister died not long after her alpha mate did from heartbreak, and Shante doesn't want it to happen to her. Devin is insecure about his ability to control himself as a berserker demon because as a species they tend to thrive on it to the detriment of others and with no remorse. It doesn't help that his parents gave him up to human parents as a small child and he's not as aware of how to deal with his nature as he may be had he learned from them.

After their meeting, the rest of the book is Devin pursuing Shante, she resisting a relationship but agreeing to let Devin help her through her heat, and them building a relationship despite what Shante doesn't want to happen. There is some demon hating group that is sending demons all over that Shante and Devin fight a few times, mostly him, but in the final battle, Shante uses her mind power to help defeat the evil mage. However, Devin almost kills her in the process because he lost control of himself thanks to a crystal the evil mage was using to control demons. The evil mage managed to place a crystal on Devin at some point along the way.

As to my thoughts on the book itself, I think it could be better if there was more information and explanation. I felt like I was consistently missing something from the story in terms of knowledge. The sexy times I expected to be intense but were slowed down at the pivotal moments. The demon attacks had a flimsy purpose. I'm still not sure how strong Shante's mental powers are or even how they work. Devin is a berserker demon but there's really no other information about it that isn't a surface level explanation. Overall I was disappointed because I was expecting more.

There's just something missing. It seems like all the most recent books I've read are falling in this category and I don't know what to make of it honestly. To be fair, this is what I get from listening to the Booktok fans again. The books always fall flat in the worst way.

I wanted to like this book based on the way it was marketed and teased, but it was simply okay. This book isn't going to win any awards, which is unfortunate because the premise is intriguing. From what I've noticed as of late, a lot of these books appear to have a rather interesting premise but the execution is always a miss. That was the case with this book. Both Shante and Devin had their own emotional hang-ups when it comes to meaningful romantic connections and for good reason. However, I'm going to say that Shante's pain wasn't tangible enough for me to believe that her grief as a result of the loss of her sister was important to the story. This plot point appeared to be something that the author threw into the story to give Shante more complexity and dimension and it did not work AT ALL.

I didn't feel that Shante was as affected by that loss as the author would have you believe. There was a lot telling and not showing in this story, and that is the primary issue with this book. We were constantly being told about truly important things but we weren't shown any of that. We were told that Shante was affected by what happened but we didn't actually see it in practice. There was no moments where Shante was haunted by the loss in any way, shape, or form. Honestly, let's say you skipped the three or four lines where she mentioned her sister, you wouldn't even know that it was something that bothered her at all. On top of that, Devin isn't as haunted by his past as you would think either. For someone who's gun shy after being unlucky in love due to his demon status, he was far more willing to throw caution to the wind by chasing Shante and reminding her at every turn of just how great they could be together. Again, if you skipped any mention of his past traumas, you wouldn't think he had any issues in love either.

The third act break-up was way more interesting than the entire first half of the book and I find that shocking. I typically don't like angst and I hate third act break-ups even more but that was the only time that I found myself sitting up out of legit interest. That's where your meat and potatoes are found - in that moment when Devin walks away from Shante. From what I could tell, this author knows how to write but this book didn't necessarily reflect or showcase that in any way unfortunately. Also, the Big Bad terrorized the city for a few sporadic chapters and was defeated immediately after his identity was revealed. Talk about a lot of build-up and tension for nothing. There was no pay-off! Anyway, read it or don't. Do what you want but this is not one that I find myself rereading.

How to Fail at Avoiding an Alpha Demon is an Omegaverse standalone spin-off within the Love and Bonds series universe.

I am actually new to this series and so I wasn't sure what to expect. But, I freaking loved this. Not only were there plenty of action and steam but there's so much challenging social issue and also personal healing and growth involved. Plus, I'm a sucker for UF where humans knowing about the supes. It's makes for a fun and enjoyable read. Definitely interested in also checking out the Love and Bonds series.

Loved this standalone!
I was kind of worried to start with as a lot of omegaverse books are quite similar. Thankfully this wasn’t it was definitely different, I love how Shante wasn’t quick to be his, like a lot of omegaverse books this being because she had witnessed multiple situations where being with an alpha has destroyed an omega. She got to know him and eventually fell for him. But even though Devin was a demon alpha he was so sweet and protective which I absolutely loved.
So overall an amazing read and i 100 percent recommend!

This book had potential but leaned too heavily on spice and not enough on plot development. There were moments when the plot just seemed to have been forgotten completely. Pieces that were being put together failed to amount to much of anything. There was some positive character development for both protagonists but otherwise it fell kind of flat.

This being the fourth book in the series, it's not my favorite but it's still a good read. After seeing Shante "Te" pop up in the previous book I enjoyed getting to know her better in this one. She's a strong female lead who for once isn't ashamed to be an omega so that was refreshing. However, she still did have issues that she had to work through. And to be fair they were reasonable issues.

The MMC, Devin, is a demon. I've heard a little about demons in this series so I liked the more in-depth look at them. The differences, how they fit into this world, and so on. Devin was a good guy but he was also sort of coasting when it came to relationships. Funnily enough, the guy had more issues to overcome than the female lead which is a switch from the norm and so how they made a good pair.

The plot was interesting. Demons being second-class citizens was talked about in greater detail, the laws and restrictions against them in particular. Things were very politically charged. Paranormal crime is on the rise, violent attacks, there are active demon hate groups, and a lot of the unfairness was talked about. However, it was the mystery that moved the plot forward. There was a big event, not to mention the murders and strange (unknown) magic. When things get revealed I was a little surprised because things didn't go the way I expected.

My theory may have been wrong but How To Fail At Avoiding An Alpha Demon was an enjoyable read, and it looks like there is more to come.

This was a fast fun read. Our FMC is an omega witch and our MMC is a sexy demon.

Demons get a bad rap.. But of course not all demons are bad. Amongst all supernaturals, demons are all lumped together as evil, power hungry, destructive, well…demons. MMC knows his breed of demon is viewed as especially horrifying. This doesn’t stop him from doing good as a police officer or wanting some of the same things every other species wants out of life. FMC is basically a magical therapist and helps him with his problems. He used that as an excuse to get close to her, but ends up making her fall for him. Swoon.

Oh. And that tail okay. Spicy.

So as you can see by my start and finish time, I ate this book up basically and one sitting between me working and going to school. I honestly could not get enough of this book because I love the alpha and Omega Trope and it was really nice to see it on black characters without a bunch of trauma porn. The backstory of the character was it was actually quite interesting so seeing them embark on the journey of forming that relationship and hit minor bumps in the road was really something that I enjoyed. I cannot wait until August 30 when her new book comes out because the previews on her Instagram already had me on the edge of my seat.

How To Fail At Bedtime: Read This Book (No Regrets)

Gleeful Goblin Review: This was my first book from this author and I cannot express in words how glad I am that I decided to go for this book based off of the title/cover art/blurb even though I hadn't read other books in the related world. I've been on a little bit of a demon kick but with a softer side lately and this book sounded like a fun time AND I WAS RIGHT. The story takes place in Baltimore and when I looked up the author apparently she is as well which makes sense given some of the fun small touches given in the world building. Our FMC is this bádáss Black woman just out here being a witch/doctor/psychiatrist/first responder type person **no big deal** and I ADORED how the author describes healing magic and the interplay between physical, mental, and the magical arenas when it comes to FMC's healing skills. The story opens on our FMC responding to a terror attack on a space known for demons who in this world are very much second class citizens at best and she comes into the aftermath having to use her healing magic, her mental influence style magic, as well as having standard training as a psychiatrist who once upon a time of course did go through medical school with rounds and everything. Once we have our meet cute between MCs and they're parting ways with FMC booking it like her life depends on it because she wants to avoid bonding this interaction goes down and I snort laughed the whole time: "I was a mess. I needed a cold shower, some food, and a very unromantic TV show to get my mind right. I jumped out of the car like my áss was on fire and jogged to my apartment’s glass automatic doors. “Nice meeting you, Shante!” Devin shouted. “Looking forward to seeing you again.” When was that going to happen? I lifted my hand in a dismissive wave goodbye and trotted inside. “You won’t,” I muttered. “I’ll make sure it happens. I owe you!” he shouted back, having heard me. Dear, God. “No, you don’t.” “I want to, anyway. See you soon.” “Only in your dreams.” “That was a given.” The way he said that last sentence was a low, bass-heavy tone that rudely vibrated my core. Don’t get turned on by the alpha. Don’t get turned on by the alpha."

I loved the fact that while of course the romance is a big part of this story it's certainly not the only story being told. There's a healthy arc of urban fantasy style thriller that reminds me of the Kate Daniels series mixed with Chicagoland Vampires in terms of general theme and those are two series I will re-read over and over. So seeing these two fall in lust, love, and everything in between while working through this whole other storyline was deeply satisfying. 5/5 Stars

This book has been on my "To Be Read" list for a long time, and now that I’ve finally read it, I can't wait to dive into the rest of the series. Although these stories can be read as standalones, its to my understanding that some characters were first introduced in the authors, "Love and Bonds: An Omegaverse Paranormal Romance" series. While reading those first might provide additional context, I was able to follow along just fine! I do plan to read that series, as the world-building in this story was phenomenal, and I’m eager to learn more about the omegaverse system the author has created.

First things first, I loved that the story takes place in Baltimore, my second home! I was familiar with many of the locations mentioned. And whew! the characters! Devin, the main male character, who is a police officer, has now become my top monster book boyfriend—LOL! He might be a demon, but he's such a cinnamon roll: sweet, hilarious, charming, and he can cook! However, the man can destroy someone in a split second! Despite being a good guy, his "Berserker" nature made him feel defeated in many aspects, ultimately affecting his relationship with Shante.

Shante, the main female character, is a witch and a therapist who heals people with her magic. I felt for Shante as she was grappling with a fear that interfered with her relationship with Devin. Still, their growth, which led to a happily ever after, was everything! I loved the banter between them (the text messages had me laughing out loud), and the love-making scenes were exquisite. Their journey together had me sighing, giggling, and weeping; it was such an emotional ride.

I found it intriguing how the author wove a tale about supernaturals and humans living alongside each other, reflecting real-life issues like racism, violence, and prejudice. This theme was presented in a way that was interesting but not overwhelming, still leaving me with thought-provoking insights. I can't wait to delve further into this omegaverse. To the author, Liz E. Cooper, aka C.C. Solomon, you have gained a new fan!

How To Fail At Avoiding An Alpha Demon: An Alpha and Omega Paranormal Romance by Liz E. Cooper is a sweet omegaverse. This story takes place in an alternate reality where magical beings exists alongside humans. Shante is a witch with magical healing power and the ability to control emotions. When out on a call in demon territory she helps an out of control alpha demon. However the alpha senses her omega status and decides to pursue her. Shante has no desire to be with an alpha ,so Devin requests her help in controlling his berserker side, something she can't refuse. However the closer they get the more she questions her decision to not be with an alpha. As a dark force is using demons to attack innocents it's more important than ever for Devin to have control. Can Devin gain control and will it be enough to be with Shante?
The world-building is wonderful. Readers see a magical world filled with stereotypes and racism similar to our own. I loved the characters. Devon is a cinnamon roll alpha demon and Shante is a strong independent omega witch. They both have pasts that make it hard for them to consider a relationship but their pull to one another may not give them a choice. As they both work to overcome their fears to try to make things work will it be enough? There is quite a bit of action as there are attack on demons and innocents that appear.to have a supernatural origin.
I rated How To Fail At Avoiding An Alpha Demon 5 out of 5 stars. I loved the characters, they are imperfectly perfect! Their relationship is sweet, but as with many, fear can sometimes cause one to miss out on some great things. If you enjoy omegaverses with cinnamon roll men and strong curvy females and relationships that slow build with lots of spice you will love this story!

I can't let just anybody hold me, you're the one that lives in me...I want no one but you...

Yin and yang, alpha and omega, action and passion these two are quite literally destined for each other; and, their differences compliment one another. This story takes place in the omegaverse with two supernatural beings---one being a witch with psychic healing powers, and the other a brawny robust demon that works on the police force.

Incidentally these two meet up on site in the city of Chicago where the demon, Devin, goes berserk and loses control of himself. The witch, hey hey Shante, gets wrapped up by him and turned on, while trying to calm down the berseker demon from killing his comrades around the area. This in turn surprises Devin who normally does not react to a person's touch, and therefore, knows there is something uniquely special about Shante. Not only is she beautiful, but her literal essense as an omega makes her irrestible to Devin as an alpha. Even though Shante finds Devin equally attractive she really doesn't want to get involved with him because of past personal experiences dealing with alphas that resulted in death, pain, and suffering for her and her family.

Undeterred by her quick dismissal for a date Devin pulls out all the stops and convinces Shante to work with him. Lonely and curious about this big sexy demon Shante agrees to this arrangement against her better judgement. I'm so glad she did. She takes us on a literal ride while trying to solve the mysteries of the demons losing control while navigating the politics of the city council and neighborhood. I could not put this book down and I love how they explore and care for one another. These two sexy supernaturals are bursting at the seams for contact---and walk away with a little bit more than they anticipated. It's a great love story, with great intimacy, and great kinship.

How to Fail at Avoiding an Alpha Demon is an alpha/omega romance with a lot of themes of prejudice and a background of violent attacks. Shante is an omega witch healer who works in a hospital and is on call to help others during emergencies. When she journeys to one in the demon area of town, she uses her mind magic to help settle a man who has hulked out in his demon form and lost control. This is how she meets Devin, a berserker demon.

The various scenes of emergencies described are pretty gritty and awful. Themes of prejudice against demons as a species can be pretty grim, with discussions about violence against demons, them being forced to live in run-down neighborhoods and being unwelcome in many establishments.

Shante is an omega who doesn't want to be claimed - a permanent bond that would tie her to an alpha for life. I can appreciate how Devin is drawn to Shante because she's amazing, as well as being pushed by his alpha nature. But I wasn't really feeling generous about some of his internal dialogue. He was quick to lie to her about his intentions and limits to get her to give him a chance. It was realistic but not particularly likeable.

There is a lot of different themes and tropes thrown together in this book. The witches can use magic, the demons come from the underworld, and humans too. Alpha and omegas are drawn together and there's power dynamic issues. Violence aimed at demons, or perpetrated by demons. Police officers and hospital workers. Mates - being claimed for life - not being in control of your future. It can be a lot but overall Devin and Shante are real - sometimes flawed, but interesting and caring.

Not only is this book written in a way I dislike - simple, shallow, sentences in the dialogue beginning with "Yeah,..." - there was no depth to the characters or their relationship. Their feelings felt purely based on the alpha/omega dynamic from Devin's side, and Shante seemed to only find him physically attractive, and liked that he cooked for her and didn't care about her weight. The spice felt so cringey to me too, it just wasn't sexy or intimate.

Plot wise, it was fine, but again so very bland and shallow overall, there was no real resolution.

I didn't like the third act break up that only lasted two chapters and was followed by the epilogue. All it did was reaffirm Shante's fears of falling in love with an alpha and being left by him.

There are also references to subjects that should be emotional, like Shante's sister's death, but this was mentioned almost like an afterthought, and just didn't have the desired effect. It made this book feel like a sequel, like the reader should already know what has happened previously, almost like things were only mentioned as reminders.

I also had an issue with the initial dynamic between Shante and Devin, how she was helping him out on an almost medical professional level despite their initial attraction, only to end up in a sexual relationship together. I know this is fiction, but it just felt incredibly inappropriate and unethical to me.

I am aware that an alpha demon romance doesn't need to be a literary masterpiece, but there was genuinely very little that I liked in this story.

This book had me hooked from page one. The plot is super compelling, blending romance, fantasy, and suspense in a way that kept me up way too late turning pages.

Shante, a therapist with magical abilities (and an omega), is doing everything she can to avoid alphas—especially after a heartbreaking loss. But then comes Devin, a demon detective who’s barely keeping his berserker rage in check. He needs her help, and despite all her best efforts to keep her distance, the pull between them is undeniable. Their dynamic is electric, full of tension, slow-burn chemistry, and some seriously steamy moments that had me swooning.

The characters in this book are so well-developed, and their arcs feel real. Shante is such a strong, layered heroine, and Devin? Let’s just say he’s the kind of persistent, protective, emotionally complex alpha that makes your heart race. Their relationship isn’t just about the heat (though there’s plenty of that!); it’s also about healing, trust, and facing past wounds.

And can we talk about the world-building? The tension between demons and non-demons adds such an intriguing layer to the story, making the stakes feel even higher. The mix of supernatural politics, danger, and romance is just chef’s kiss.

If you love paranormal romance with strong characters, a gripping plot, and plenty of heat, you need to read this book. Liz E. Cooper absolutely knocked it out of the park, and I cannot wait for the next one!

It was nice to see Shante find her an Alpha of her own. Shante is a witch healer and also a part of the same coven as Billie. Shante is content with her life as an Omega and doesn't want an Alpha. Things change when she saves Devin an Alpha demon from going full Berserker after a demon attack.

Devin's life was never easy. Its bad enough demons are treated as 2nd class citizens, but Devin has also struggled with racism and prejudice from simply being a black man when in his human form. Devin almost loses control and release his Berserker when investigating an attack on a demon bar where many demons were killed or seriously harmed. No one was able to hold down the out-of-control Berserker that is until Shante came to help. One touch and she was able to calm the savage beast and from that point on Devin was in hot pursuit of his Omega.

Through this series we see that something big and sinister is at play. Billie and her guys were dealing with it in Love and Bonds, her best friend Lila and her mates were privy to the strange things happening involving their coven members and now Shante and Devin are on the Dream Team. We had a couple of cameos from two of our favorite Alphas Lance and Kai, but the battle is far from over and Shante, Devin as well as their friends are gearing up for battle.

This book could so easily have gotten as dark as what we see in the news these days, but it didn’t. And that’s all thanks to the author’s snarky, sassy, tongue-in-cheek humor that snuck into the most unexpected of places and lightened the whole thing up. Also, if you’re like me and haven’t (yet) read the trilogy that occurs before this book, the author’s got you covered. Shante and Devin’s journey reads perfectly well as a stand-alone, though I can tell there are some things that would take on additional meaning if I knew the full history behind what had happened previously. But, let me get to the best part of the book: the chemistry between Shante and Devin. It is overpowering and irresistible. They both try to fight it at different times and for different reasons, but it still keeps pulling them back together. I loved the message I’m taking away from this story: that even the most insurmountable obstacles can be overcome with determination and the right incentive. And the love between Shante and Devin is the right incentive to move mountains. Now, I believe I need to go invest in a few more books so I’m ready to tackle the next in this world once it’s available.
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.

The title of this book is a mouthfull, but I have to admit I like it. It paints the atmosphere of this book quite nicely, with a touch of humor and some bittersweet moments. I absolutely loved the start of this book; it was a very nice meet-up between the two main characters and it immediately created the instant connection that was needed for a standalone that's on the shorter side. Both characters, our alpha demon Devin and our witch Shante, have some personal struggles to overcome even though it's clear from the start to everyone else they were made for each other.

I don't believe it's necessary to have read the other books in the "Love and Bonds" series, but it does help to understand some parts of the story. Also, if you have, it's nice to see some characters again from the previous books. All in all, this was a nice paranormal omegaverse MF story, with some spicy scenes and a beautiful connection between two characters. The only reason I ended up with a four star rating, is that I started to get annoyed with Shante at some point, maybe because I've recently read more of these push-and-pull stories and as a result, my patience with the characters was running a little thin.

This book is part of the Love and Bonds series by Liz E. Cooper. I haven’t read all of the previous books in the series, but I was able to delve right in & enjoy this one without feeling like I was missing important beats. I enjoyed this story enough that I’m going to go back and read the others though, because I was intrigued by the world & characters’ stories that were part of the previous books!

That said, this book is the story of Shante (aka Te) and Devin. Shante is a doctor, as well as an Omega witch, who uses her abilities to care for the sick & injured among the local supernatural community. Devin is an alpha demon, who also happens to be a berserker. They are drawn to each other, but both of them are dealing with past traumas and insecurities that they must work through in order to establish a healthy relationship.

There’s a lot of spice & steam in the book, and it was a great read. I couldn’t put it down - I was very interested in seeing how the external issues the supernatural community is facing impacted & influenced Te and Devin both as individuals and as a couple.

I would very much recommend the book!

How to Fail at Avoiding an Alpha Demon jumps right in, into both the action and the relationship between the two leads, Shante and Devin. After an explosive first meeting following which Shante shuts him down hard, Devin begins to pursue Shante, intent on convincing her to give him a chance. This isn't my favorite trope ever since it can sometimes seem kind of creepy, but there's enough early insight into Shante's mind that it becomes clear she's truly interested and just fighting her attraction. The steamy scenes between them were the perfect blend of spice and romance.

This book had a bit of a slow start for me, and it took some time to warm up to all the characters. There were clearly references to previous stories in this universe, but even without having read them I was able to follow along just fine. That being said, having that prior knowledge might improve enjoyment as this story kicks off.

There were a few spelling/grammar errors and a couple places where idioms were used incorrectly, but overall it was a fun read!

I enjoyed this book. They are two people who love each other, but both did things they regretted and ended up separating. Three years later…. Jalisa is set up in an arranged marriage to create strong potential Alpha/omega bonds from two realms after a war. She is an omega Fae and He is an alpha Dragon. For many years his kind were treated like slaves. This caused many harsh treatments and even deaths between their families.
Both of their families are against the union and at one point her family tried to have someone forcefully mate mark her.
They decide to have a fake wedding so she doesn’t have to marry Jacob(Her arranged mate)
He eventually starts to lose his memories of her and they go in search of finding a cure while avoiding attacks to both of them.
There are fights and some bad guys die and they make promises to fix things.
So her family changes how they treated dragons even though her father was not like his ancestors. They come to care about their daughter and help her with her mate and eventually it was they who were able to help her mate regain his memories.

How To Fail At Avoiding An Alpha Demon is one of my favorite reads of 2024 so far! I was addicted from page one and was unable to put this epic read down! Readers are introduced to Shante, a witch and doctor who used her powers to heal people. When she meets Devin, a detective and a demon with an uncontrollable rage as a berserker, she is able to help him take back control, but he is getting closer to losing it forever. Adding on another element to this pair, Devin is an alpha, and he feels something for Shante that goes beyond anything he has ever felt, which is also dangerous given his berserker nature. Beyond the romantic tension, there is also a mystery pushing the story along as demons are being targeted. I really enjoyed learning more about this ever expanding world. The explanation of the nature of demons and how they are treated in this society was really eye opening to the character development. I look forward to reading more from this world!

New Hardcore Fan!!! | Such loveable characters & hot as heck

I love love loved this book - I devoured it in one night and was definitely sleep deprived at work today 🤣

First - I’m the kinda girl who loves reading erotic romance for the erotica. And it DELIVERED. All these books from booktok/reddit have been tiring me out with the NONEXISTENT/lackluster “spice.” So if you’re like me, PLEASE pick up this book because it’s everything and more! The sexual tension was PALPABLE, the payoff was ELECTRIC, and on top of that - the actual romance was so heartwarming.

Also, I never expected to read an erotic romance with 1) a black FMC, 2) a black-presenting nonhuman MMC, 3) interspecies racism, 4) OMEGAVERSE????, and 5) kdrama references????

It was a breath of fresh air and I felt so seen in every way 🤣

I know what I’ll be doing tonight - looking for other books by this author to put on my kindle 🫶🏾

Te and Devin the Demon 😈

This is my first time reading one of your books Liz and girl you ATE!! This was such a good story and while they’re supernatural it was such relatable characteristics and I cackled so many times ! I love when an author can make me really see a character and relate to their thoughts and actions.

I loved both Devin and his beserker sides because my boy was a catch both ways. Their growth and working through their fears were well thought and written out so well. Your ideas and the world that you build came across amazing.
Te gave me all the feels too. She was hell bent on not messing with & alpha. That heat was snowballed her straight to his 🪢!

And give another applause for their rut and head.give it up for the the KNOT and honorable mention to the TAIL MaAM!! Their spice burned HOT and I enjoyed a few re reading of each time lol and my girl tried to ward him off and boom 😂 I enjoyed this so much. On to book two with high expectations 🥰💕
