My family has played god with shifters for over eight centuries. They've conquered in silence, have gathered and saved power for themselves, failing their people.
No more.
The draca live. All four of us are alive, on the same timeline, and we have what it takes to summon the Ether, bring back the balance of elements in our world. Give the people back their magic. Put a stop to the Azarius reign.
Except the Ether might not be who we think he is...
Will summoning him really be the beginning of a new, better world?
Ella is horrible. She spent the entire book crying. Seriously, you are a dragon! Grow a backbone! I stand by my previous opinions in saying that this series could have been one solid book instead of this drawn-out boring drivel. The last 5 to 10 chapters are the only parts worth reading.
This series just gets better and better. I absolutely can’t get enough of Lucien & Ella. Them trying to get back to each other was definitely an adventure in itself. Honestly once you start reading you will not want too stop. Another amazing read that everyone must read.
The FMC starts to get exhausting because she is most of the time a weeping mess. Some of the drama felt a bit unnecessary or at least how the FMC chose to deal with it. For a 20 year old who lives her 7th life she acts a lot childishly.
The romance aspect improved, it doesn't feel reduced to the physical aspect anymore. Though the passion and romantic feelings are expressed a lot at inappropriate times.
The mating was finally explained - I wished it would have been done in the first book. The mating concept confused me before because in every fantasy book the mating is done differently, it's not self-explanatory.
I still appreciate the duality Ella's parents are given and how torn she feels about them. And I love the different types of dragons added to the story.
The end again was not so surprising because of the not so subtle foreshadowing but it still was entertaining.
Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. WOW...just wow! We met Princess Ella in previous books as her trying to find a way to get to Lucian. She keeps having dreams of a man telling her to "find the wrym". She has no idea how to do that. She remembers asking Alexandra, her ancestor to help her. Thr next thing Ella knows she wakes up in a forest with a woman demanding how she found her. There is more to this woman than meets the eye and then it clicks...how she looks...someone whom Ella didn't know exist until recently. She meets another girl Mikhaila who is sick as well and they team up to get to Springfield. Ella is spotted by her father's men and runs. She finds her way back to Lucien in the hands of his brother...whoa! Now planning starts to dethrone her father, find this wrym but most importantly meet and heal the man whose been speaking to her in her dreams. So much to do in so little time. Ella is fighting to stop her father and bring forth thr Ether. Can she do it and not lose herself or will her father win and it's ends game
She cried. The FMC cried so. Damn. Much. She cried over every little thing, and I almost couldn't take it anymore. Somehow, I finished the book, mostly for the plot, but even that dwindled in this book.
I started the next book in the series, and after she cried fifteen times in the first 50 pages, I gave up.
The first two books were great, though. Really sad I will never know the ending (though I can probably guess)
I’m not loving this series. I think about DNFing them quite frequently. But then something happens which hooks me - normally within the last few chapters of the book and I need to know what happens next. I have just started the final book and I honestly can’t wait to finish. Captivating- but normally just at the end 😂
I really love this storyline and series so far, but I wish there was A LOT less crying from FMC. It seemed like she had tears or full-on crying fits every couple pages.
These books were really going somewhere, and I couldn't possibly point you in a direction.
What? Who? Why? All questions I asked myself repeatedly as plot twist after plot twist was dropped on me. Most of them felt like psych-outs. Apparently the abusive piece of dragon garbage that sort-of raised Ella might not be the bad guy? Apparently he's sort of worthy of the scrap of love Ella has for him?
Agree to disagree, Ella, but what do I know? I'm no dragon shifter.
Speaking of Draca, Ella is on the hunt for a new dragon-pal. She's literally dropped on top of a new character, and they shortly part ways as if there would be any other reason for Ella's path to cross with some rando in the American countryside. I was SCREAMING.
Ella and Lucien's reunion was sweet. Some continued amazing bedroom chemistry, though Ella ended up crying through most of it (as well as the rest of the book). Their mating scene was less epic than I expected. But Lucien is an Ella-stan until the day he dies so major kudos to him for supporting her through a bunch of bad ideas.
We get a quick glimpse of a bunch of characters from the first book, and they all kind of suck. They are steadfast in ignoring the fact that Ella was a captive of theirs and now seek to punish her for lying to them about her real identity? Weird.
Overall, loved Ella and Lucien (mostly Lucien). John was a weirdo. Jack remained cool. Greta was there? Trevor was BACK baby, his role still undefined. Might not pick up the next book.

Warden of Water brings together all the elements our crew has been searching for and bringing with them the clarity of where to go from here - or so we were all hoping. The twists and turns in this book are deliciously fantastic and kept me on the edge of my seat!
DNf 40% After reading both of the previous books I'm so frustrated
The FMC has cried or had tears so many times in this book throughout the series but specifically this book, I can't even think of an analogy It's so many times.
I'm a fan of like a damsel in distress I don't mind a main character crying I like an FMC with flaws I don't want to marry Sue, I want a character to feel emotion I like exploring depression or being upset but it just goes very surfacy with This character nothing's ever fully explored and then a specifically in this book she just cries constantly. Like even after she's reunited with her love like there's some reason for her to tear up.
The crying isn't my major issue it's just that's the point I'm at currently where I'm like really Maybe I could have kept going but that's the Jenga piece, It's the last straw I'm over the edge.
It doesn't get better, It gets worse The FMC is insufferable, They are very few FMCs that I have disliked as much as I dislike this one. She's not likeable, she's repetitive. The whole book is repetitive. Everything is said the same way and multiple different ways over and over again, repeated beaten and beaten to death. See what I did there...
The MC is very flat doesn't have a personality. None of these characters really have much of a personality.
There's a lack of consistency in every character.
I kept a reading because the storyline had potential but it needs a content editor a real one who isn't afraid to tell the author what's what and like fix it
I saw good reviews so I gave it a try. Had Alexa read it to me so I did it while doing stuff, If it had been the primary thing that I was doing I don't think I would have made it this far. I almost gave up so many times.
The fact In book two it took until like 80% for the miscommunication trope to clear up. And she kept almost telling him so many times you can only fake out a reader so many times. And then once you clear up the miscommunication trope you need to have a strong enough story and character to keep the reader sucked in. And I think that's why some of these books make it drag because that's all they have. Don't get me wrong Like I said I liked the plot I felt like there was potential for the story but it just gets dragged down by everything else, I like I kept trying but it's the repetitiveness it's the character's Not just them not getting better or having an arc, But then literally getting worse.
This is an example of the miscommunication trope down all wrong. There were easy and simple fixes to make it less frustrating for readers. Should have been stronger reasoning for why they didn't talk to each other. But it was always flimsy and the FMC always gave a very flimsy reason one of the hundred times she almost told the MC.
It definitely relied too heavily on the steamy scenes, felt the main characters lacked chemistry and lacked romance and their relationship with basically built on steam. And I feel like it's lazy writing to Hope a book gets big just based on steam alone otherwise like go read erotica. It has to have balance. And that's the thing there was a plot here there is a plot here but it is dragged down by relying on easy yet frustrating tropes, keeping things surface level never exploring and anything fully, repeating everything over and over, And when they need an excuse not to talk just have steam.
If fourth wing has taught us anything That even if it's a series you can have a satisfying first book without relying on frustrating things like the miscommunication trope and that you can actually like your FMC. They can be strong and vulnerable at the same time. This is not that.
Barely do I write negative reviews on Amazon or Goodreads like if I don't like it I just keep it to myself if someone asks an opinion I'll tell them or I'll try to give the positives sandwiched with some constructive criticism but I just I can't with this one. I think it's the books that had potential that really get me.
Also the titles in the covers completely give away the fact that there are other dragons. Like Jack isn't so mysterious in book two , soon as you learn his earth it's pretty obvious he's the earth dragon that's on the cover. As he was introduced in that book he's earth and he's powerful and mysterious.
I just don't know how I made it this long. And I guess I'm going to be repetitive myself and saying that it had potential, It truly just needs a good content editor who isn't afraid to make piece of work better, help shape this into what it could be.
Giving it two stars because I didn't DNF till now, ig had something to keep me at this point. And that's something was a potentially good plot/a good concepta good concept, but It was never fully realized, I gave it long enough, gets dragged down by the writing.
I enjoyed the first two books. I read them one after the other, staying up late to finish them.
This book however...the amount of crying the main female character does made me want to stab my eyeballs out.
It. Never. Stops.
And it isn't even an established fact that she cries a lot. She wasn't like this in the first two books. My only thought was maybe the author decided to write this in because this was the water element book.
There were at least some indications of self awareness.
"gods, do you ever stop crying?"
"so strange that I still hadn't run out of tears"
"I was beginning to think there would never come a time when I wouldn't be crying my eyes out"
You may be asking yourself why does this matter? Does it take away from the book?
It does. Because there is never ever any truly emotional impact. There's a moment in the end which should have had a massive emotional impact on her and it did but the reader doesn't feel it. It's soul shattering and she breaks and her soul is in pieces around her...except that happened every chapter in the book so this is just another day for her. She is constantly breaking, her soul is constantly shattering, she's always in pieces around herself, she's always falling apart.
Aside from constantly crying, the book feels slow. It's not that nothing happens until the end, thinking back there were quite a few important things, it's just that there were a lot of filler scenes. I found myself skimming, bored and wanting to get to a point where anything at all was happening. Im not even a plot dependent person. There is value in scenes that don't drive the plot forward because they help paint the world and the characters with more depth and rich detail.
I would not recommend this book and I'm only reading book 4 because I am genuinely interested in the plot.
So overall the story/plot itself is pretty good. However, I have found that a whole lot of nothing has happened in the last 2 books. At least nothing that makes the plot feel like it’s moving forward. It’s like we are given little bits throughout and it’s obvious that they are going to be important at some point, but they don’t feel like they move the story forward bc the FMC doesn’t understand what they mean. I think the author wanted to make it mysterious, but it really just felt like no movement in plot until the last 5% and then you take a leap forward where the little details make sense, all though not all the secrets/mysteries were revealed so I worry it will be more of the same in the next book, very little plot movement until the very end when everything comes together and it’s over. I ended up skimming a lot of the last 2 books bc there was so many non consequential scenes.
The FMC is very hard to like. She is crying nonstop and I mean nonstop. Every scene has her crying and that is not an exaggeration, she literally cry’s in every scene, even in some of the sex scenes she’s crying. We are now three quarters through the over all story and the character growth is next to nothing. She’s the same insecure whiny cry baby she was in the first book. She repeats the same mistakes over and over and never learns and then cries when it doesn’t work out. At this point I’m not sure I want to read the last book. I’m so close to the end, but I’m not sure the ending will be worth my time if it’s more of the same. I enjoyed the first book (4/5 stars), was highly disappointed with the second (2.5/5 stars) and the third (3/5 stars) wasn’t the comeback I was hoping for.

🥹 súper mono, intenso y me encanta.

4.25⭐️/5 ~🇬🇧 ✨Advance copy in exchange for an honest review✨
~As always the ending is very cool, looking forward to read the next one. Thank goodness the author is taking pity on us and it won't take long for the next book to be published🤭 ~As for the female protagonist, she's still one of my favourites. Everything she does and doesn't do makes sense, she's not impulsive and repellent like so many others (😂), so I give her points. ~The male lead is... 🥹 super cute, intense and I love him. Really, he's a sweetheart😍 ~The plot, although I liked it less because it's slower than the other two previous books, it's still dynamic and reads very fast. You go from chapter to chapter as if nothing had happened, it doesn't get tiring and that's very important. ~To finish, I would like to say that I really like the way the writer writes, I don't know why, but I love the way she does it😍
Best in the series so far- I loved Jack from book 2 and the give and take between Jack and Lucien. Now we get to meet Jack’s twin, John and they are such fun. In fact, we also get Lucien’s brother, Rowan, and he’s another breath of fresh air to the cast of characters.
Ella is actually likable this time around, and Lucien is still hot, but he’s as dominant as ever. Now that Lucien and Ella are reunited there are sex scenes yet again, but not as much as before (thank goodness) and the flirt between Lucien’s Wyvern and Ella’s Dragoness is adorable.
There is a lot that happens here, more action than before and as the mystery leaps into high gear we are left on quite the cliffhanger so be sure to have the final book ready to jump into.
And yes, the story has got a hold on me now, however I wish Ella would stop being so back and forth about if her father is really good or evil. It’s getting annoying as her opinions pinball around far too much which just makes her feel like the weakest link in the chain of collaborators.
Oh, and the reveal of who the real Angel of Death has been and the time loop was well done. Glad it’s been fairly out to rest, though Ella’s emotional reaction to it doesn’t do her credit at all but is yet another reminder that she’s more of an emotional wreck than anyone seems to realize.
I read all 4 books in this series. This covers the whole series.
Overall I really enjoy DN Hoxa 's stories. So many great ideas. While I liked the series, it's not my favorite. And by book 4 I was rather annoyed with how the events played out.
Ella wasn't my favorite FMC. While she has good traits. But I find her character more often annoying than likeable. In the first book I understand she was super sheltered. But over the course of the series, she never improves. Estella, show some growth girl!
Lucien as an MMC is perfectly fine. Nothing great, but he didn't suck.
**spoilers for book 4**
Now this whole plot starts out cool. Very original. I enjoyed the world building. But by the time we figure out what's happening and it's "too late". Now I'm seriously pissed off. It takes the miscommunication trope to a 10. Not in a good way. Ella's parents suck. Abhorrent!! Oh we want to protect her for as long as possible. Beat your beloved daughter so she won't get close. So much emotional and physical abuse only for book 4 to show him as a loving father. For 3 full books, the King is depicted as the most horrible creature, but on book 4 it's all, oh no I wasn't like that at all. And I'm supposed to see him as the good guy. No. Whether that was the plan the whole time, it feels like a switch in plans in book 3.

I like how every book focuses on the different dragons, I think it’s a clever idea especially with the titles.
This book definitely upped the tension and lowkey stressed my out the more the plot developed lol. I could see the set up for some revelations that sometimes made me impatient for the characters to catch the hints but it didn’t bother me much.
This was nice but I felt more engrossed in the first two books. For some reason, Ella was always in tears for this book? I understand that we had a lot of emotional moments and had her world turned upside more than once but after the 10th time she had tears rolling down her face, it became too noticeable that it drew me out of the story. She wasn’t this weepy in the previous books so it seemed out of character. It also felt like a cop out tbh to have her cry every time something big or emotional happened. There could have been better descriptions to express what she was feeling and not just tears whenever she was happy, sad, shocked, relieved, and mad.
I felt a lot more stressed in this book because of all the dire situations and I think that made it less fun for me lol but still a good book.
I enjoyed this book far more than the first two books. I finished it within a few days, having devoured the first third in the first sitting, & I didn’t want to put it down! As someone who enjoys the world-building/mythology/adventure aspects of the fantasy genre, as with the first two books, I did not care for the sex scenes. I don’t mind a little spice here & there (I’m far from a prude), but at some point you have to ask yourself where should the line be drawn between erotica & straight-up porn? They’re not only uncomfortable scenes to read, they slow down the action of the rest of the story. That’s the only reason I gave this four stars instead of five, because other than that I really enjoyed this one. The writing is solid, but when you’re building up this fantasy universe & you’ve reached a point where major answers are being revealed, it does the story a major disservice by suddenly stopping the action just so the main characters can bang for 3-4 chapters straight. That being said, I look forward to reading book 4 & seeing how all the loose ends tie up.
She did what she needed to do to save not only herself, but to save Jack and Lucien too. She awakens in a place she has never been with a woman looking at her in a way that is not at all friendly, but in a way Estella can’t comprehend, seems oddly familiar. She will be surprised and then heartbroken when she learns the truth but Estella can’t linger, she has to make her way to Lucien. Much to her surprise she will realize, hopefully not too late, who the last of the four dragons is and races to save the life of the woman who helped her. Unfortunately, her father’s men will find them. Exciting and action packed, magic, sizzling romance, and shifters with unexpected twists in the plot. Fascinating and unique characters trying to save their world from a madman only to realize that they probably made a terrible mistake. Fantastic book, and I highly recommend it.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
CLIFFHANGER!!!! again. fuck, this all three books can be ONE, 400 pages but we have so much water... too much boring parts, too much crying FMC... like she's crying ALL THE TIME! even when she's fucking sssssoooooo waste of my time, can't believe I hoped it will be better and close to the third book. thanks to my friend for this book, i would cry too if i had to buy it.
dragon scene was good spicy scenes was disturbed my overmelming tears and overthinking of FMC her breeding dragoness moment was more hot than all three bed scenes
and the end... gooooosh...
I will not believe that in all fucking internet we have NOT EVEN ONE page about this fucking man who they search all fucking book!
first 100 pages was tears drama and other not interesting things no character growth, no action...
For the love of all things holy!!! I mean THAT ENDING! I. Don’t. Know. What. To. Say!!! This book was a roller coaster of feelings. I was not prepared at all LOL! First- I love that at theme of each book now, we get a little snippet from Lucien. Second- so many things and people have changed. Some for the good, some for the bad. I knew Alexandra coming into play was going to be devastating, I just didn’t realize how much. I love this little group Ella has formed. She made her own family and I love it. That other shoe on that other foot is about to drop because the end is coming. Book 4 ends it and I’m stuck between needing to devour it as fast as possible and yet trying to go slow because I don’t want it to end. But I NEED to know. I have so many feelings and thoughts and questions. In case you’re in the fence, do yourself a favor and just grab this series. It’s worth every single word!!!
This entire book minus maybe 3 chapters of actual plot was nothing but fluff. The interest in the plot itself will be enough to get me to read the fourth book. However, there really is no need for this plot to stretch across four books. There is so. Much. Fluff. So many unnecessary scenes that do nothing to progress the storyline or the dimension of the characters. It is nice to finally get a glimpse at Lucien’s POV instead of just more of Ella crying for whatever reason. But there is also the addition of more characters without really exploring them. Each book seems that its focus is on the next elements draca/ character. But. They are still nothing more than a one dimensional side character. It would be one thing if it was that characters POV and exploring their story that led them to this point but it’s not. It’s a little bit of plot with a lot of tears and steamy scenes that are actually getting to be too overdone.
Another good installment in this series. While there are things happening in this book, it seems like there's less happening than the previous two. There are some plot holes I'm hoping will be answered in the next book, but since they weren't answered in this one it made me enjoy it a little less (not going to specify because of potential spoilers!) I also predicted parts of the plotline, and it wasn't as twisty as I was hoping.
Ella's emotions are complex and all over the place, but that makes complete sense based on what's happened and happening. Lucian continues to be great, and I enjoyed the introduction of various other characters (not going to mention and spoil lol)
It's definitely worth reading this 3rd installment of the series, and again, I can't wait for #4- which I hope gets released just as quickly as the previous books. THAT CLIFFHANGER THOUGH.
This was really good! I really like Mikhaila. I knew from the second she showed up that she was going to be important, and when Ella tried to do the water trick? Yeah, that was obvious. She’s a bit slow lol. I also really enjoyed finally getting to meet Lucien’s brother, Rowan, and Jack’s brother, John. Honestly though, John’s character was kind of a let down. I thought I’d like him more. I’m still so confused about the king, probably more so than I was before. I KNEW that something bad would happen when they brought back the Ether! They just assumed that he would come and solve all their problems, but I knew differently! It would’ve been too easy if he were a good guy. I’m so ready to start the next book.
✨Fantasy ❤️🔥Enemies to Lovers 🐲Shifters 👑Royalty 🐦🔥Reincarnation (kind of)
I didn’t enjoy this book. I found it to be highly repetitive (especially the sex scenes), overkill on narration (describing so many things unnecessarily), and so much crying for an alleged dragon it was OTT.
I really don’t understand why the father is made out to be this absolute villain in the first and second books where he is physically abusing his daughter, slapping her around, dismissing her, degrading her, and yet we’re supposed to hold on to him having some redeeming qualities that will shine through later in the series?! If the author wanted us to believe that, she shouldn’t have made him evil because no matter what happens in book 4, there’s no way to discount what he did to her in all 7 lives. It doesn’t make her look emotional or vulnerable or “strong,” it makes her dumb.
Where do I start!? This book picks up right after that incredible ending in book 2! Estella and Lucien are separated. There’s a crazy ancestor possibly on the loose and pulling everybody’s strings. They’re suppose to summon an ancient element, and kill the king. No biggie. This book was so fast paced. There was constantly something happening which kept it moving and made it a definite page turner. Lucien, of course is still my favorite! He’s powerful, dominant and a total alpha. Ella was an emotional basket case in this book, which was a little different from how we’ve seen her in the previous books. We get the addition of a few new characters, and some deeper insight into some old ones. I’m so excited for book 4 and see where Ms Hoxa takes us in this journey!
This one was a crazy ride! Despite the crazy ending, I definitely wasn't entirely surprised...Estella hasn't changed enough for that to have ended differently.
I'm not entirely happy with that particular cliffhanger ending....so here's to hoping the next book ties it all together! Also really hoping they'll get a bit of time to relax in the next book 🤣 I'm ready for some less stressful reading 🤣
Absolutely beautiful, brilliant, stunning… just no words to describe all the emotions and stuns and the shock… OMG.. every books so far in this series has thrown me for a loop. The spice is TOP TIER. Beautifully written. The plot is fantastic, the characters amazing, and the world building is brilliant. Lucien and Ella’s relationship hit an all time high, and I have hopes it only goes higher ;) the twist and turns were so unexpected, especially the ending.
I would highly recommend this series to anyone who is a lover of fantasy or romance. One of the best fantasy romance series I have ever encouraged. I can’t wait to start the final book of the series!
