Days from the Heart of the Home

Originally I wanted to call this book "The Day Book, Birthday Book, Diary, Journal, Calendar, Organization Book from the Heart of the Home!" A good descriptive name but maybe a little long. I decided Days would say it all. For years I have kept a little book where I jot down the day's happenings, my memories & now these books are just about the story of my life.

I'm the author of the Heart of the Home series of hand-written and watercolored books, and most recently, a three-part illustrated memoir that begins with The Fairy Tale Girl (as the appetizer), goes to Martha's Vineyard, Isle of Dreams (for main course), and then (for dessert) it's A Fine Romance, Falling in Love with the English Countryside. (You can take the girl out of the cookbook, but you can never take the cookbook out of the girl.) Hope you love them. I've been waiting a long time to tell this story.

I bookshelved this as non-fiction since it is like a mini journal. I've nicknamed it "The Small Plates of Sally".

Susan Branch's books are a personal favorite because of the charming collection of hand-lettered quotes as well as the lovely illustrations that are sprinkled throughout. Days from the Heart of the Home includes a perpetual calendar that allows the reader/owner of the book to pen in birthdays of family & friends.

I have used this book as my daily log/gratitude journal for 12 years. Yes, there are 12 copies of this book on my bookshelf. I am still using it! This is a beautiful and inspirational book to use as a daily log, appointment book, gratitude journal, or whatever your heart desires. There will be dozens of copies of this book upon my shelf as the years go on.

Susan Branch's cheerful, cozy illustrations are scattered throughout this lovely book of days. One's special days are wrapped in the love and care with which they are so obviously drawn.

I've used this in the past and loved it. Wish it was easier to find in Canada! I paid a fortune once to have it shipped from California to Ontario, Canada.
