A hilarious, heart-tugging rom com about two people finding each other again one phone call at a time.
Hannah Gold never thought she’d speak to Ethan Reisner ever again. Getting dumped in high school will do that to you. But when she needs to find a beloved sweater in time for her parents’ 50th anniversary, she begins her search where she last saw it: Ethan’s childhood home.
She thought calling Ethan out of the blue would be the hardest part, but breaking fifteen years of silence was just the beginning. Why is Ethan being so friendly? And helpful? And funny? And is it possible for someone to be handsome over the phone?
As her feelings take her to unexpected places and her parents’ anniversary looms closer, Hannah will have to dig deep, find out what’s real, and decide exactly what she wants.

This was a super sweet and heartwarming listen, with funny dialogues from telephone conversations that managed to describe the MC previous relationship clearly. I had some real chuckles, especially when Hannah had to break into Ethan’s house. The ending was perfect, and I felt good about the world afterwards.
A quick and fun Audible novella. Some situations were a bit OTT, but it was overall a sweet second chance romance.
For the most part, the characters communicate over the phone and I think that both narrators did a wonderful job. Especially Andrew Eiden, his voice is dreamy. 😊 Excellent production and sound effects.
Ugh my gosh. This was SO cheesy and it was mostly bc of the audible readers voice and inflections. I was cringing so much throughout the whole book. Ethan was okay, at the most he was just kind of an awkward dude that wasn’t great at talking to women. He was funny though. And Hannah was just sooo weird and immature. And these are 30-something year old adults? I don’t believe it. It was a cool story about how they broke up then found new love as adults but this woman… did not seem like an adult. Also- this book had no other dialogue from any other characters. It was almost strictly their phone calls to eachother. I’m still cringing now thinking of how audible literally added in a kiss sound effect for their kiss at the end. PLEASE NO.
This is a cute romantic comedy audio. Novella length at just 2 hrs, 28 minutes. Perfect length for driving to/from work. I chuckled out loud a couple of times. Sometimes I need 1) a palate cleanser or 2) something short for my commute—this checked both of those boxes for me.
Great narration by Andrew Eiden and Luci Christian Bell.
Ok so I must look like a crazy person in the middle of a shopping centre smiling my face off!
I got this from audible plus catalog. I needed something to listen to while I was shopping. This is a short listen and was perfect like literally sooo perfect:
Ethan and Hannah were together when they were kids. Hannah needed to contact Ethan and soo a rekindling begins. A trip down numerous memory lanes, mothers and a cat flap later they manage to address a past both of them never actually got over 15 years ago.
Now if you got a spare 2 hours and need a pick me up, a smile and a fluffy warm feeling in your tummy, go download this.
Just don’t walk round the shopping centre smiling (surprised I wasn’t arrested)
Story 3.5 stars rounded up. Narration 4.5 stars Cute novella that takes place mainly via telephone calls with the exception of maybe thirty seconds. It’s second chance between a couple that broke up in high school and neither ever got over the other. It’s 15 years later. Not a lot goes on, but it was fairly enjoyable.
Audible Originals are a guilty pleasure of mine. They're short, sweet, and it's easy to feel like you're listening in on a friend's conversation, rather than listening to a book. There's an art to writing a book meant to be recorded - like a romance between prose and a script.
Oof. This was ok, a really cute concept and I loved the whole story being told through their phone calls. But oh boy was this cringey and suuuuuper juvenile.
idk how i feel about dolby atmos audio books 😬 it wasnt awful but i definitely was cringing a lot while listening. on the other hand it’s a quick audio book to pass time, easy to follow along, and it’s only dialogue/phone call so that’s interesting.
One of the worst books I’ve read. I think my main issue was the dialogue through the phone for the whole story. It was a quick read but I was not a fan of the plot and dialogue.
This was a very quick and cute second chance romance! Andrew Eiden and Luci Christian Bell narrated this novella wonderfully and their voices worked so well together. I loved the banter between Hannah and Ethan! The set up was a bit quirky and things moved quickly between the characters because it's a novella, but the shared history made it work. I really enjoyed this one!
What's it about? Two high school sweethearts, Hannah and Ethan, find themselves reconnecting over a series of phonecalls fifteen years after their break-up.
Best bits: When Hannah gets stuck in Ethan's cat door. Ethan, who was funny and sweet and just adorable. The two narrators were perfect and I will keep my eye out for more from each of them!
Worst bit: It's only available on Audible.
Recommended for: Anyone with two hours to spare who enjoys listening to second-chance rom-coms. This was so funny and so delightful! I listened to it on a Saturday morning as I started to bake a celebration cake and I spent the entire time with a grin on my face!
i’m not going to lie…the only reason i finished was because it was so short, so i might as well have. i know going into these audible originals similar to this that they’ll be cheesy. but my GOSH. this one was just so cringey. these 30 some year olds act like they are 16 still and the way they talk and how they interact and just awh all back together. oof. don’t recommend this one, sorry.
I am sure this audiobook has a niche audience. I am not that. I do love a good romcom. But this was not well written, and kind of felt a little tragic.
The audio narration was super lacking, and some of the background noise was strange. Finish it because I hoped that it would all come together, but it really missed the mark for me.
