Celebrating the incredible diversity of life in the South American jungle, "Amazon Alphabet" provides an extraordinary glimpse into this special world. Simple text draws children into the accompanying paintings, whose brilliance will engage and enthrall them. From the Agouti eating Brazil nuts to the mysterious Zorro, this unique alphabet will intrigue readers of all ages.
It features beautiful large oil paintings of Amazonian animals, some familiar and some not. It has the alphabet in upper and lower case followed by the animal and an activity that it performs or something to do with its habitat. There is a glossary of more information on the animals in the back of the book. My two favorite illustrations/texts are those of the Giant Armadillo "Gg is for Giant Armadillo snuffling for ants" and Frog "Ff is for Frog leaping from a leaf", because that is one enormous armadillo that can grow up to 5 ft long according the info in the back of the book, and the frogs because I've always been fascinated by frogs (esp the poison dart frogs).
The book Amazon Alphabet, by Tanis Jordan is a colorful book that teaches you about the lower and uppercase alphabets. It gives an illustration of beautiful paintings of animals. On each page the animals are doing a activity that goes along with the alphabet. The book can be used to teach students the upper and lower case alphabets.
A beautifully illustrated alphabet and concept book. This book takes the reader through the animals living in the Amazon alphabetically. Each animal has a drawing of it and most pages have how to pronounce the name.
