A collection of poems focussed on a family theme; a mix of humour and seriousness as it covers various aspects of family life from babyhood to old age.

Small brothers blame you; Big ones skulk; Mothers shame you; Sisters sulk; Dad’s won’t budge unless you shove ‘em. But they’re family; You might as well love ‘em.
I'm still in hospital at the moment and one of the excellent NHS ward staff found this book on the Ward. I joked that I would read the book and then write a review. And here we are.
How To Avoid Kissing Your Parents In Public is a beautiful collection of poems about family; parents, siblings, uncles and aunts, babies, grandparents. Nobody is spared in this often funny book, which also deals with maritaI Issues, and even life in the family after divorce.
Every poem skillfully written from the child's perspective.,although I would recommend It to adults, especially parents, to see how the world of the family affects our youngest members. I gave How To Avoid Kissing Your Parents In Public four stars.
This is a good book for children I think, the poems are written from a child's perspective or to help children in embarrassing situations. Some of them are funny, there are a few that are quite serious and some that just don't make any sense but most of them are very clever.
This book was funny, becuase basically just poems but i love poems, however i dont think that the title is appropriate. Because it doesnt tell you how to avoid kissing your parents in public.
Probably the first and only poetry book I've read. I got it free in a cereal box when I was 7 and used to read it all the time! It was quite funny, with funny poems about family and friends.
