An illustrated companion to the Threshold Series by Christa Kinde. Angels have alwaysserved in pairs, but Baird is sure there must be some mistake when Kester shows up on his doorstep. The vividly energetic redhead couldn’t have been more different from his genteel new apprentice. Yet their rocky beginnings give way to a unique balance, proving that friendship can flourish in the unlikeliest of places, given time, trust, and the Twelve Days of Christmas.
*Christmas 2016 - Authorial reread, which was a hoot ... since I don't think I've read this one since I wrote it. Yay, bedtime stories. With voices. Because I can.
*Christmas 2017 reread. Because I found myself missing Baird.
*Christmas 2019 reread. Because I'm still all kinds of fond.
Kester and Baird are two of my favorite characters with one of my favorite relationships from the threshold series and it was fun to take a look into their world.
One of my favorite things about reading is that even when the stories are fake, there are aspects of the stories that are real and that we can learn from. An even better part of this story is that angels actually ARE real (I believe)! I enjoyed this story that had real struggles but shows how friends can come together and lift each other up when needed, and how much God will guide and help us if we let Him.
This story had laugh-out-loud moments and I loved reading about Kester and Baird's friendship. It definitely hits the spot if you're looking for a feel-good story.
This is basically a two-part short story. The first half covers how Baird and Kester first met, and the second half takes place shortly before Christmas and covers a holiday challenge between the two Worshipers (and actually fills in a missing piece from the Threshold novels, mainly, what Prissie ended up giving all her angelic friends for Christmas).
Like all the shorter pieces, this was a good look into the more personal side of some of the angels. Baird's mostly enthusiastic in the novels, but here we see another side of him: someone whose mood can swing down almost as far as it goes up (Kester, in contrast, is extremely steady). Between Ephron's capture and some of the hazards of life on earth, Baird can't always maintain a smile. Kester, in contrast, is longing for a chance to be a mentor himself, but he takes his current apprenticeship with good grace, and aims to support Baird as best he can.
The second half can be a bit jerky due to the quick transitions, but all in all this is still a really fun piece. Currently this one is also free. Recommended.
The Threshold series focuses on Prissy. ANGELS IN HARMONY gives a little information about the guys. Angels have always gone in pairs. Kester shows up on Baird's doorstep and Kester is surprised. The redhead was very vibrant and energetic. and was totally the opposite from his genteel new apprentice. It takes a while but their rough beginning turns into a nice good balance. The author shows us that friendship can bloom in strange places. All we need is time, faith and the Twelve Days of Christmas. It is so easy to relate to the angels because they are so human like, down on the human level.
The author, Christa Kinde writes some of the most charming, lovable stories and all have a lesson in them somewhere. These books are not just for children, they are wonderful reads for adults too.
I was given complimentary copies of both books from the author, Christa Kinde for my personal opinion. No other compensation took place.
Angels In Harmony: Baird and Kester had a rocky start when Kester was Sent to Baird as his apprentice … without Baird knowing about it. But that all happened in summer. By Christmas time, they are the best of friends. Then, Baird decides that he and Kester should have a little fun, by celebrating the twelve days of Christmas in a very creative way.
I loved this story SO much, especially since it is all about Baird and Kester, two of my favorite Threshold characters. This is probably my favorite short story that Christa Kinde has written. The majority of the story takes place around the same time that The Broken Window does. I think it is written for all ages.
A Short story based on the threshold series about Guardian Angels who protect the Pomeroy family. Miss Kinde really knows how to develop characters that absorb the reader into the story. Warm and emotional both children and adults will enjoy learning about the Flight that developed a beautiful bond with the Pomeroy family.
Angels in Harmony shows behind the scenes of the character Baird. As he is paired with kind hearted and punctual Kester, Baird is forced to not spend his time alone. As Kester and Baird form a friendship, it will bring smiles to your face.
I loved this inside look at what could be considered minor characters in this series. It is always fun to see a beloved story from a new perspective. Also Baird and Kester work perfectly together and really show how we can learn and grow from those different from us.
This was a wonderful short story that complements The Broken Window. Baird and Kester are completely different but have the same purpose. They come up with a wonderful gift giving game revolving around "The Twelve Days of Christmas" I might try it with my family this Christmas!
