Never being a fan of 'self help' books, this one did not change my mind. As a beloved family member has recently been suggested to have (not professionally diagnosed as of yet), I wanted to read more about this insidious mental health disorder. This book was about one adult women's experience, who is married with children and working, which is much different from the circumstances of my family member. Also, with alcohol and prescription drug abuse as part of her situation, there is nothing here in that vein. So a disappointed not so good or particularly helpful for me, or her I believe.

Are you ready to take control of your life and embrace your unique strengths? I recently read this book which is about women with ADHD and it was a game-changer. The author does an incredible job of explaining what ADHD is and how it affects daily life. She takes you step-by-step through the symptoms and provides practical tips and tricks for overcoming common problems. What I loved most about this book is that it covers all aspects of daily life, from inner growth to work, relationships, and more. The author even includes a list of websites and apps that have been incredibly helpful for me. But what really sets this book apart is the author's sense of humor. Her wit and charm make reading this book an absolute delight. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to take control of their life and embrace their unique strengths. The author's approach is refreshing and empowering, and I have no doubt that her insights will resonate with many readers. She highlights the unique challenges that women with ADHD face and provides practical strategies for overcoming them. From harnessing the body-mind connection to tackling impostor syndrome at work, this book is a must-read for anyone looking to live their best life. I highly recommend it!

Tools Galore!

I went into this book not knowing much about the techbicals of ADHD at all. Rose's kind approach and informed writing was eye-opening to me. The book itself includes many techniques and even cute illustrations that added to the overall enjoyable experience. It was definitely a great place to start for somebody uninformed like myself, and I would highly recommend this to any woman dealing with ADHD, or those who are looking to learn more!

Was lucky enough to receive this book as an ARC and absolutely loved it. It was packed full of helpful tips and tricks to manage ADHD. It was so helpful that I immediately purchased a journal and a budgeting book in order to implement the tips from chapter 4 and 7. I highly recommend this book for those with ADHD or those who think they may have ADHD. Women tend to not be diagnosed until later in life and having this as guide is really great.

While I don’t personally have ADHD, I have many close friends and students who do! I know that women often get overlooked when it comes to diagnosis and treatment of ADHD, and I was excited to dive in and get some more information on the topic from someone who has ADHD and has also extensively researched it.

This book had several relevant ideas and tips in it, even for people who don’t necessarily have ADHD. I suffer from insomnia, anxiety, and many of the sensory issues brought up in chapter 3. I already use several of the ideas mentioned in the sleep section, and there were others that I’m going to try out and see if they help!

Overall, this book was a friendly and easy dive into how ADHD can impact many facets of life, as well as many ways to accommodate for it in everyday situations.

This book was so helpful even for someone who has been diagnosed for 30 years!

I have chronic migraines, so I've stopped taking ADHD meds to focus on my migraines and trying to find a treatment for that (thus far, I've been unsuccessful). But this book has given me new hope for my ADHD! I can't wait to introduce the supplements into my diet and try some of the insomnia tricks! I've been in therapy for a few years, which has been great, like the author has suggested. And my migraine diet is very similar to the diet suggested, which I love!

I loved the general layout of the book, too. Super easy to read, and the authors humor keeps your attention, even if you are a shiny-seeking squirrel.

A Witty and Heartfelt Journey to Self-Discovery

I was approached a couple of weeks ago and asked if I would be interested in reviewing a non-fiction book. Now, I must admit, I usually don't review non-fiction works; my literary adventures have mostly led me through the realms of fiction. However, when I was told that this particular book was all about women with ADHD, it was as if the universe was trying to send me a message. Just a few weeks prior, I had been diagnosed with ADHD myself, at the ripe old age of 31, which, as I discovered, isn't that uncommon for women like me. Did you know that the average age for males to be diagnosed with ADHD is 7 years old, while us women, on average, don't get diagnosed until we hit our 30s or 40s?

Jumping into Estelle Rose's "Empowered Women with ADHD" was like opening a treasure chest of understanding and self-awareness. It was not just witty and genuine; it became a guiding light that illuminated aspects of my personality and struggles that I had previously only seen through a fog. For so long, I had dealt with a myriad of health issues, and yet, nobody ever looked at the whole picture. “ADHD often coexists alongside other conditions. It’s like having a sidekick, but instead of Batman and Robin, it’s ADHD and anxiety in my case”. But here, in these pages, I found my holistic portrait, and it made me wish that this book had found its way into my life much earlier.

What struck me most about this book was its profound relatability and heartfelt narrative. Estelle Rose deftly blends research with personal stories, allowing the reader to connect on a deeper level. It wasn't just a cold, clinical analysis of ADHD; it was a living, breathing account of women like me, facing the world with our unique strengths and challenges and that's where the true empowerment lies.

Within these pages, I discovered a treasure trove of tools and techniques to help me navigate the ADHD journey and become the heroine of my own story. The book wasn't just a collection of advice; it was a roadmap towards empowerment. It debunked myths that society often attaches to ADHD and instead presented genuine facts, shattering the misconceptions and stereotypes that have followed us for so long.

As I delved further, I found myself completely engulfed in the stories and knowledge this book had to offer. It became my go-to source for all I needed to understand my ADHD better. I felt a newfound sense of empowerment, embracing my creativity and realising that my sensitivity is not a weakness but a unique strength that sets me apart in the most wonderful way.

I can't help but think about all the friends and family members who need to read this book too. It's not just about me; it's about understanding and supporting the millions of women living with ADHD. By recommending this book to my loved ones, I'm giving them a glimpse into my world, an insight into why I am the way I am, and how they can be there for me and others like me.

"Empowered Women with ADHD" is more than just a must-read; it's a must-have for anyone who knows someone with ADHD or suspects they might have it themselves. It's a beacon of hope, compassion, and understanding, shining its light on the path towards embracing our unique neurodivergence. Thank you, Estelle Rose, for writing a book that has touched my heart, illuminated my mind, and made me realise that living with ADHD is not a burden but a gift waiting to be unwrapped.

Let me start by saying thank you for allowing me the opportunity to read this through an ARC. I'm so happy I got to read it before it was published.

I think there's a reason why I stumbled onto this book. Since I wasn't happy with the diagnosis my doctor gave me, I've been intending to have myself go through another round of testing. (By the way, I am clinically diagnosed with Bipolar II disorder) I adore this book because it helped me understand what ADHD is and provided tools for navigating the chaotic life of someone with ADHD. However, I must admit that it might have helped me realize that I might have been misdiagnosed because the majority of the topics covered in this book seem to apply to all the experiences I have had.

Moving on to the specifics of the book….

The chapters on empowered feelings and how one feels empowered at work, Chapters 5 and 7, are my favorites. These are the exact issues that I struggle with as someone with BP-II (which is also the same case with ADHD). These themes were extremely beneficial for me in managing my emotions, which are something I obviously struggle (hugely battle) with. I had never heard of emotional dysregulation or rejection sensitivity, so my sentiments seemed legitimate. Before reading the book, I was unaware that I was going through this, which made me wonder if I actually had BP-II or if the diagnosis had been incorrect all along.

I was particularly moved by the guide to managing emotions because it's clear to me right now that I'm finding it difficult to recognize and control my feelings, which makes those around me agitated and appear to be at a loss for words. These tactics are beneficial, and the most of them didn't even recognize that I was already using them, which provided me more ideas for improving the processes I am currently using.

I don't want to give anything away about the book's content, but all I can say is that it's a fantastic resource for learning about ADHD and getting methods to manage it. I would personally suggest this because I have a friend who has recently been diagnosed with one, making it simple for me to relate to her condition and offer support. Additionally, this demonstrates the importance of prioritizing mental health and the fact that doing so doesn't make you weaker than you may believe you are.

I have a lot to say about this book!! Feel free to message me to discuss.

I'll admit that I was super intrigued when the author reached out to see if I would review her book. My 13 year old was diagnosed with ADHD when she was in 3rd grade and in 6th she was diagnosed with a visual processing disorder (comorbidity). I jumped at the chance to learn more about how adults cope living with ADHD so that perhaps I could help her in the future and share this book. Little did a know that I would have some of the symptoms of ADHD. My daughter was also able to pick out the symptoms she has which I think is super important in understanding how to cope.

I loved the way the content was presented in this book. It was very informative and concise and very easy to skip chapters that don't apply to you or areas where to don't feel like you need help.

I definitely found it to be extremely helpful for me and I am planning to put to good use some of the recommendations in the book for the areas we struggle with - like disorganization and clutter.

I am not one to typically annotate books, but I was highlighting/making notes on this one like crazy. I wish I could put this book in the hands of all educators and administrators in the school system too because I can't tell you how many times we have heard the "everyone has ADHD symptoms." The reality is after 3 children you just know when one is struggling with things the others didn't.

I am a believer in the more you read, the more you know. Educate yourself and use this book to help yourself, your friends, your children etc. I certainly feel empowered after reading it.

Thank you to @rosalipublishing for the #gifted copy.

I am not someone who reads a lot of non-fiction books. I find them boring or I stop reading halfway through because too much information is given or the writing style is not easy to read. That is certainly not the case with this book!

While I am not diagnosed as someone with ADHD, I am diagnosed with autism since two years. I am also a social work student.
I was curious to know if I would recognise similarities and If reading this book gives me insightful information for my study.

Firstoff, the way it is written makes that  reading is easy and enjoyable. I like how the book is structured. You first get information and then tips and tools. You immediteally get a glips in the heads of women with ADHD and it makes me curious to read more.

I recognize myself in things that women with ADHD struggle with like getting a diagnose very late and that their is lack of diagnose of reseach with women with ADHD and also autism.

This book makes you feel less alone. It recognize you as a person and human being.
The tips and tools, which are a lot of them, are very helpfull. If something doesn't work for you, there is another tool that can work for you.

As a Social Work student this book can really give you the information and dept on this theme.

I really recommened to read this book. This books is for everyone who has ADHD and especially women, knows someone with ADHD, wants to know about this subject or works with people with ADHD.

I got diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, which was a bit of a shock but it was also cathartic - because I finally knew why my brain worked the way it did. I did a lot of deep diving (hyperfocusing) into learning how ADHD worked and how to manage my ADHD and here I am, a year later - a mini ADHD expert.

This book is best suited for people who are in the beginner stages of their ADHD journey or do not know where to start. Maybe newly diagnosed. People who want to get an overview of the basics of ADHD management. As someone who has done significant research on ADHD, I didn't feel this book resonated with me as much as it would someone else. The writing style of the author is very basic/simple/informal, with lots of humor. If you prefer a more scientific/academic/formal discussion of ADHD, this book isn't for you.

The book is very helpful in that it breaks down different areas ADHDers may struggle with: food, sleep, money, etc. It is a nice go-to guide that you can easily go back and reference. There are many app recommendations if that is your thing. A great resource for management strategies if you cannot or do not want to do medication.

When the author of this book reached out about an exchange/collaboration—an ebook in exchange for a review, I didn’t expect—actually I don’t know what I expected. I’m not someone that usually enjoys reading anything other than romance, fantasy, and smut I have to say that this book intrigued me because, well I am someone that was diagnosed with ADHD and I for one do not enjoy being medicated for it.

There was so much information about ADHD that I did not know about and I really enjoyed learning throughout this 📖. I appreciated the author’s humor throughout the chapters and the integrated illustrations because, let’s be honest, my brain would immediately wander off without it. I cannot wait to implement some if not all of the techniques mentioned in this book to help manage my ADHD starting with a change in my diet.

If you are someone who struggles with ADHD I definitely recommend giving this book a try, you might find some way to help you manage your ADHD.

Disclaimer: Although the author gifted the ebook, my thoughts are my own and this is my honest review.

I was lucky enough to read this one early, and though I am not one to read self help or empowerment books, this one really spoke to my inner self as a 37 Year old woman discovering what life with ADHD looks like. Estelle has a down to earth but fun way of breaking it all down so that you feel like it’s a friend cheering you on and giving you the best tools to get through the madness. I also loved finding out that I was already doing so many of the things that are recommended and that it didn’t feel like it was helping out of the blue. It was my inner self telling my brain that these tips actually work. I have a long way to go still but I know I can always come back to this book to recharge as the best How to ADHD companion. Thank you for giving us the space and time to understand ourselves better!!!

When i was asked to read this book.
I didn’t want to say yes. I’m not a huge fan of non-fiction or self help books. (They tend to feel like school for me) but me being the people pleaser that i am (one of the many things that i do that is addressed in this book) i agreed because i just cannot say no. I’m so glad this was one of those time my people pleasing came in handy because this was the most helpful book when it comes to being a woman with ADHD. I’ve not officially been diagnosed but any test i take all comes down to this. Although the same symptoms can be said for anxiety and depression i figured why not read anyways because my 11 year old has ADHD this might be a useful tool.
The layout of this book was great. It didn’t feel overwhelming, everything had sections and cute pictures which got my attention. I think the chapters on “Empowered Feelings, and Empowered Social life” were two huge ones for me. I felt seen while reading this. Every time i read something whether it was outburst while having conversation with people, emotional spending ,emotional dysregulation , or sensory overload, these just to name a few i felt like “wow I’m not the only one going through this!” The tips were not only practical if you have ADHD but i felt they were practical even if you’re just a mom or wife or if you know someone who has ADHD. Not only that , but there were multiple tips in case one option didn’t work you could try another. I feel like everyone can benefit from a book like this and it’s sectioned nicely so that if it’s a chapter not pertaining to you you could skip to the next. Lastly the graphics at the end of each chapter were so cute. Like a little summery of what you read. I definitely on buying a copy just to be able to reference when I’m struggling.
Thank you Rosali Publishing for gifting a copy of this book to be able to read in exchange for a review!

Empowered Women with ADHD | Estelle Rose | Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐.5

While certain commonly known symptoms of ADHD [Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder] apply to almost all of us {forgetting minor details, starting a task with enthusiasm and abandoning it midway to start something else, procrastinating and leaving things for the last minute}, I picked this one up especially for my husband, who although never clinically diagnosed, shows all the classic symptoms of hyperactive-impulsive ADHD (showing off my knowledge after reading this 🤣).
While this book is a very good resource for navigating a life with ADHD, especially for women, it's equally applicable and useful for cis-men.

Right from suggesting appropriate lifestyle changes, best food choices for battling ADHD to tips for impulse control, managing budget, managing relationships, optimising professional performance, this book is a treasure trove of information for anyone neuro-diverse, in any degree, to traverse the complex norms of a neuro-typical society.

It also does a wonderful job in successfully emphasizing the bright side of being neuro-divergent. Not being "normal" or neuro-typical, is not always a bane and most extraordinary people tend to stray from "normalcy" in some way or form.

Written in a very easy to read prose, with absolutely adorable info-graphics, what I liked most about this book is that it's not your typical, ordinary self-helf book handing out commonsensical yet unrealistic advice.
This instead relies on implementing very practical and useful practices and concepts in your daily life. Concepts, which are backed by credible medical research and strong empirical evidence, e.g.: curious accountability.

Whether you think you or someone close to you suffer from ADHD or not, you can give this a read just to organize your life better and maybe curb that shopping habit. 😉

¡Chica, sé tú sin disculpas! 💖✨🌸

Empowered Women With ADHD✨

REVIEW:

My favorite line from the book-
“Just remember that ADHD doesn’t have to hold you back. You are so much more than your diagnosis, and with the right tools and support, you can learn to manage the overwhelm, calm your mind, make peace with your brain, and achieve your goals in both work and relationships”

As a woman diagnosed late in life with ADHD, I resonated with this book and found it extremely enlightening.
So many women are misdiagnosed, diagnosed late in life or never even receive the diagnosis of ADHD.
ADHD is complicated. Anyone who has it knows. But Estelle really breaks things down in her book. She goes over various strategies to combat your ADHD symptoms and gives you tools to help in your day to day life.
I was specifically interested the topic of hormones and ADHD. I know a woman’s hormones affects EVERYTHING but the discussion of it and ADHD made some things click.
Estelle doesn’t make you feel like your symptoms are wrong or makes you feel like you need to medicate to get rid of them. Instead she teaches you how to harness and navigate your symptoms.
I highly recommend this to anyone who has ADHD, not just women but certainly I think this will benefit women the most. It’s an easy read and actually makes you laugh at some points. Go to Amazon and check this out!

I’m a big advocate for neurodiversity, which is why when I received this as an arc I was very excited to dive in. The past few years I’ve really worked on educating myself on the topic of autism among the autistic community and my intention for this arc was to expand my knowledge of neurodiversity and go further into another topic-ADHD.

First of all, I think it’s very important to learn about neurotypes from those who experience it themselves and not just from those who are on the outside looking in so thank you to Estelle Rose for taking the time to write this very informative guide into what it is like as a woman with ADHD.

Her writing style was so easy to follow and she organized and explained everything in the simplest way. She was very straight forward with her message and added bits of humor in the right places. I love
that she starts off with clear definitions and differentiates myths from facts. I hope this guide helps others understand the differences that people with ADHD experience. This was a very good read and would recommend it to those who want to be educated or who have family/friends with ADHD.

I personally do not have ADHD, but my youngest sister does, and as a teacher, I had many students with ADHD enter my classroom. So, I found this extremely informative and interesting to read.

Since I have been around others with ADHD, I knew there were different types, but I didn't know the names of each subgenre; Inattentive type, Hyperactive-impulsive type, combined type.

I loved the way this book was written. I didn't feel like I was reading a textbook that was droaning on, but instead I was engaged, interested, and even laughed at a few of the antidotes.

"Just remember that ADHD doesn't have to hold you back. You are so much more than your diagnosis..."

I also enjoyed all of the tips and tricks. Even as a mother and teacher, I constantly have to write down in my planner, so I believe how important this could be for those who have an overactive mind. But the part I loved most was the daily affirmations..

"It could be something simple like, "I am capable" or "I am worthy of love and respect."

This was so important for my students and something I brought into my classroom , but for my students with ADHD, it always encouraged them and started them off on the right foot.

Do I have ADHD who knows but it's likely. I read this workbook and finally felt understood. There are so many great things about this book. I loved the checklist that you can go back to and add on to and adjust. The worksheets are great to have going in tandem with the chapters. I highly recommend having an iPad/kobo or kindle going with them so you can type and check things off as you go and make notes.
I found I related to the finance and parenting chapters the most and will definitely apply what I realized about myself to my everyday choices. I found that I have sensory issues and loud noises severely affect my mood and responses.
There are chapters on diet and hormones at different ages including menopause. I found it extremely interesting that women are diagnosed later in life due to the type and presentation of their ADHD. I will be referring back to this often and trying to slowly adapt these changes to my life.
Highly recommend even if you don't have an ADHD diagnosis. I feel these techniques can be adapted to all 'women'.

Empowered Women With ADHD
By Estelle Rose
When I was approached by Rosali Publishing to read this book, I was a little nervous, I’ve never reviewed a non-fiction book before but I have to say it was a complete pleasure and very helpful. Thank you Rosali Publishing and Estelle Rose for the opportunity. I’ve never been diagnosed with ADHD, but as a middle age woman ( gosh I hate saying that) I’ve wondered about it, I do have a lot of the symptoms and both my adult children have been diagnosed at point in their lives, my son as a child and my daughter as an adult. Which I’ve learned from this book is quite common. This book is a “guide/handbook”, that gives awesome suggestions and tools on how to organize your life and deal with the symptoms those with ADHD struggle with daily. As I was reading this book I kept thinking I need a box of these to share share with certain people in my lives. Make sure you don’t forget to grab yours today!!!!

I generally stay away from books that fall in self-help category because it can be overwhelming for me. I’m the type that will do nothing for days then want to do a complete overhaul over anything I’ve ever wanted to accomplish in its entirety. And complete them in an afternoon.

This book is written in a clear, concise way, with inclusive language and an understanding for people (women, gender non conforming, and yes even men) with ADHD. There are so many tools in here that you can implement for a more structured life and better understanding of what ADHD looks like for you.

I wash a little surprised at how many I had already found worked for me through trial and error but there were so many helpful tips I think I hi-lighted on every single page.

Improving you doesn’t have to start on January first. It doesn’t have to be huge. It can be one thing at a time that you add onto things you already do.

I went into this book knowing that it wouldn't be targeted at me at all. I don't personally have ADHD but have close family and friends that do. I thought this book was really informative and I learnt technical things about ADHD that I never knew about previously, however I think some of the tips and tricks within this book are one's that most people with ADHD already know about and use, and after talking with some of those friends they agreed with me. That doesn't mean however that there weren't tips in there that aren't helpful, some of them were even helpful for me.

I do think this was a great, informative book but it's only a 3 star as I personally don't feel like I can rate it any higher. But if you are someone who has ADHD or wants to learn a bit more about it I do reccommend this book.

Thank you to Rosali Publishing for sending me a free digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is exactly the type of nonfiction book I like, it was informative and useful. The approach to ADHD and the tips was engaging, it makes you feel like you are talking to a trusted friend and that friend is sharing their journey while making you feel comfortable in your own. I do not have ADHD but I found strategies that I plan to add to my life.

The book is full of strategies for women with ADHD to not only survive in all aspects of their life but to thrive. The strategies are thoughtful and practical and the author encourages readers to take the strategies they want and need and leave the rest. The book also includes cute sketches that go along with the information that enhance the experience.

This book, while targeted for women with ADHD, will be useful for anyone with ADHD or those who have friends and family with ADHD.

Thank you to Rosali Publishing for providing a copy for my honest review.

I loved that this is organized by themes (career, emotions, brain, self-esteem, etc.), and then further broken down by numbered headers and lots of bullet point lists. For me, that makes this a resource that I can draw from in areas where I want to make a change, rather than something that I'd read from cover to cover. For example, if I've been having a hard time working and completing projects, I can draw from her list of tools to banish distractions and list of tips for self-care for the long-haul to help prevent burnout).

I found the organization of the workbook side of the book to be more my jam, since it intersperses content from the first part of the book with questions, activities, and take-action assignments.

This will continue to be a go-to reference for me for years to come!
