Lena Sharpe wants her life to be the fabulous kind that movies are made of. She works in television, so she's familiar with the heroine, the hook and when to break for commercial. The problem is, she's always telling other people's stories. When will it be her turn?

When Lena meets Colin, the perfect guy, she's on cloud nine. Suddenly, she has the life she's always wanted, complete with a new circle of fabulous friendsmuch to the chagrin of her old circle of fabulous friends. He even encourages her to quit her job and follow her dream. Is this love or just another fantasy? And what's up next? Diamond ring or reality check? To find out, tune in to Live from New York, It's Lena Sharpe!

Choppy and hard to follow

There were several times in this book I thought that I had skipped ahead pages or something had happened in editing because the subject and characters changed so dramatically in a paragraph. One minute she’s drinking with jake and the next line she’s eating breakfast with Tess. What happened. Why no transition. This type of jump happened several times and it interrupts the flow of the story. The story also should have had more of a wrapped up ending and not just a end of paragraph what the hell happened. It’s like the author declared I will just stop here. Maybe write another book later but I’m bored with them so....

I wanted to like this.
I did, at first.

Well, I actually loved Courtney Litz's writing style.
It's quick, sharp, and clever. This is why I found Lena
endearing in the beginning.

But about 30% of the way through, the story fell flat.
There wasn't much of a plot, and the characters seemed
a little...empty. I couldn't relate to any of them.

It's embarrassingly predictable.

Too bad.

Meh. I sometimes enjoy fluffy "single girl in NY" stories for obvious reasons, but I feel like so many of them are the same. All about designer labels, rich guys in the Hamptons, dinner at Nobu. I don't care.

Great, quick read. I felt myself identifying with the main character on several levels and that made it easier to enjoy the book. I would highly recommend this one.

This book was great! Funny, kept me turning pages to see what happened to the main character! Would make a good chic flick.

It's like eating a bag of peanut butter cups, they taste good but there is no nutritional value.

I liked this book much more than I imagined. Cute and funny. Flew through it.
