I won this book from a Goodreads giveaway and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived in the mail. I don’t know much about Ayurveda beyond the basics. So, it’s a really lovely book to look at. I wish I had the bandwidth to learn all the terminology so I didn’t have to constantly look everything up. I don’t know whether it is a great option for those new to Ayurveda; it didn’t feel like a tough read, but it wasn’t easy. I didn’t become any more interested in Ayurveda nor inspired to try any of the recipes or health care advice after reading it, which is why I gave it 3 stars.

Kate O’Donnell’s cookbooks are so informative, practical and filled with delicious, easy to make recipes. She makes Ayurvedic cooking easy. When this book came out I bought and read through it right away. I’ve been practicing Ayurveda for 3 years now, and have committed a year of my life to study to become an Ayurvedic Health Councilor, and have read countless books on Ayurveda… this book addresses Women’s health so practically and concisely. I love the recipes and find they are easy to incorporate into my routine. And the guidance on following Moon rhythms have never felt more clear. I have bought his book for my daughter and daughter-in-law. I highly recommend!

An introduction to Ayurveda for Western audiences (women). I got a lot out of this book, particularly:
- basic concepts of Ayurveda
- recipes and practices for stages of the menstrual/lunar cycles
- recipes and practices for seasons of life (pregnancy, postpartum, householding, and perimenopause/menopause and beyond)
- The "Living Radiantly" piece vis-a-vis discussion of aging and the vedic approach to life stages was really thought provoking.

And also, this book is beautiful to look at.

I’ve read many books on Ayurveda throughout the years, but never one that really goes this in depth about women’s health.

I loved the way it touches on so many parts of a women’s health (ie. cycle, fertility, miscarriage, pregnancy, self-care for new mom’s & menopause)
There are fabulous practices and foods to help nourish the body and keep your hormones working for you not against you and create optimal health.

It’s an easy read and engaging enough you won’t want to put it down. The photography is an added bonus! Great reference book as well to keep coming back to.

This book is very much outside my wheelhouse. I don't believe or practice Ayurveda, but some of the concepts were interesting and I may try some of the recipes. In the end it was too out there for me but it was beautifully put together.

This book has some decent stuff to say and I am going to try out some of the recipes - I am also going to make fun of it just a little because it seems that this white lady needed to go to India just to learn it’s okay to fart.
