Amy is about to graduate from high school and is a few months shy of her eighteenth birthday. She is planning to attend State in the fall, with her boyfriend Mitch, and has her life all planned out. The only problem is that life has an entirely different plan for her. Excerpt: Dragging my feet as I walk, I leave my room and head downstairs to face the firing squad. I step into the kitchen and my parents stop mid sentence and look at me. It's a weird feeling, almost like I'm a toy that is being inspected for faults. They are trying to decide if I pass and get to move on with my existence or I fail and get tossed to the bottom of a trash bin. Dad motions for me to take a seat across the table from him. My mom gets up and stands at the sink, looking out the window. I can already tell this isn't going to be good. I hang my head and wait for it to begin. "Where were you?" I swallow and turn to my dad. He looks disappointed, but compared to the look on my mother's face, he looks calm and collected. I shouldn't be surprised, he's always been the one who steadies the ship when the waves start. "I... I went to Mitch's house." My mom starts to cry. I instantly feel bad, even though I'm not sure why my sneaking out would cause her to be upset emotionally. I get that she's mad, however, this is not the response I was expecting. Why would me going to Mitch's house make her cry? It really makes no sense. My dad lets out a deep sigh and drums his fingers on the table. "What were you doing there?" I wrestle with telling them the truth. They are going to be pissed either way. Maybe I should just tell them about State. I take a deep breath and ready myself, emotionally, to deal with the slew of questions and judgment that is sure to follow.

{Spoilers!!} Crazy Love is about this girl named Amy who has recently finished high school with her boyfriend Mitch. After not making it into the state college, her life goes down from there. Her mom leaves her and her dad, and her dad gets drunk which causes Amy to go live with Mitch while he is training for football. She figures that she will go to a small community college in the area so she got a job. After a misunderstanding, Mitch and Amy break up and almost immediately after, Logan, who is another football player, started dating Amy. Everything is pretty much fine until the end of the story when Amy’s dad dies in a crash trying to take a paper to Amy to tell her she did get into state, after that Amy’s mom returned and forced her to live with her in LA.
Crazy Love is an interesting novel. It has lots of romance, suspense, and drama. The author, Emma Keene, truly knows how to make you feel like you are in Amy’s shoes. Amy’s life went from good to bad in the blink of one eye. I think Crazy Love did not need that many conflicts. It would have the same meaning if the book elaborated more on a few of Amy’s problems. Otherwise I think Crazy Love was a great novel.
Readers would enjoy this novel if they enjoy reading about love. This book mostly targets girl teen and young adult readers. Many girls can probably relate to the struggles of Amy’s relationship and personality. If you enjoy romance and girl drama you will like Crazy Love. I personally think Crazy Love is an excellent book.

Crazy Love Review
In the fictional story Crazy Love by Emma Keene, a 17 year old teen named Amy has her whole life planned out, but all of a sudden, everything changes. Amy and her boyfriend, Mitch, both graduate high school and plan to attend in State College, but when she receives a rejection letter, she is forced to make a new plan. Her life starts going downhill when she receives her rejection letter, her mom abandons her family, and Mitch starts to fade away. I did not enjoy this book as much as I had hoped to because even though I could relate with the characters, how they handled situations and how the author skipped over main parts of the story, bothered me as a reader.
I was not crazy about Crazy Love because the book was set up to be about a love story between Mitch and Amy, but when Mitch is too focused on football, and Logan, a guy from Salem, enters the story, you pretty much know they are done. Also, when Amy's mom left, her dad immediately started drinking and becoming abusive towards Amy which was not pleasing to me. Amy's first reaction was to run away and leave her dad completely alone. Mitch suggests to her, "Well...you could always run away," (Keene 73). When she comes to her senses, she moves in with a new girlfriend named Jess. Suddenly, she gets a new life in Salem with Jess and Logan, who she starts to have feelings for, and then her dad cleans up and just dies. Her mom then forces Amy to move to Hollywood and live with her and the man she left her family for. In the story, the author describes how bothered Amy is about moving, but Amy does not make a big deal about it to her mom; she just goes with the flow. Throughout the story, Amy is constantly changing her mind about all of her feelings.
In this story, Amy has a lot going on, but the author never spends enough time on one situation before moving on to the next. I rate this book a one out of five stars because of the lack of organization in the story and because of the way Amy deals with her problems...she does not. Crazy Love is not a book I would recommend because there were very few parts in the story that expressed real life feelings.

The whole Crazy Love story was terrible tragedy. But, I can't lie that I wasn't enjoy the story entirely.
" Everything happens for a reason. The universe has a plan for all of us, so just hang on, life is a wild ride."
I had lots of positive feelings about the story when I noticed the Crazy Love book for the first time. I actually did like the front cover, it is kind of cute. And when I began to read the story, the first second chapters were "Okay" with me. Plaintive beginning wasn't too bad for a story........ When I read furthermore, chapter by chapter, that childish Amy fell more misery out of misery....., disappointed feelings started to flying across my heart. Somehow, I managed to finish my reading, regardless of the few simple errors I noticed while reading.

I feel like that there was a deficiency of character-development. As well as lack of inter-combination between the situations of the story. And hardly realistic.
By astonishingly, I was enjoy the story little bit. I wonder that Amy girl ever have had any courage to stand against her agony, her mom....., what so ever she going through. She only knew to cry... cry... cry.... Easily giving-up. If she ever stand and fought for what she wants, the whole story would be a success. Believe me, end of the story was really sucks. And, I have a little hope about the second book of the series Tainted Love will be more success than this. I do need to read it to know that miracle ever going be happen.

I semi-loathed this book. It was absolutely unrealistic. I mean, I know there are a lot of people out there who have really awful lives, and there are some truly terrible people around, but this book just kind of rolled a bunch of awful events into a couple hundred pages, made the characters react in completely inane and unrealistic (to my way of thinking) ways. However, I kept reading to the end, because I wanted to see what happened. And the ending was just as bad as the rest, leaving you hanging and unfulfilled and obviously trying to get you to buy the next book.
The story had potential, the events could have even been somewhat believable if the characters had just been allowed to react in a reasonable way. As it is, there is very little introspection, the main girl just doesn't want to think about what's happening. I wish the author had tried to really let the girl examine her emotions, explain her thoughts, and try to rationalize or at least think about the actions of those around her. But no, the author just barrels through, not spending much time developing the characters and relationships.
I wish it had been a better book, because it had an interesting premise that could have provided a lot of really emotional reading, but all the events were just kind of thrown at the reader and I kind of felt like I was reading the newspaper, disconnected from the people in the story.

I had a hard time wanting to finish this but I have never not finished a book so I didn't give up.. I did not like this book very much. I usually try to find something good in every book, but that was challenging for this book.
It bothered me that the main character, who had the vocabulary of a very mature adult though she was only 17, acted extremely immature and ridiculous and oblivious throughout the book... She also seemed to have no clue about dating and guys, while at the same time seeming to sort of play games. The unexpected leaving of her mother and then her just showing back up, it is all a mess with a lot of nonsense honestly. And she does not fight for anything for herself, she just cries and acts weak and runs away...

Also, I really do not like when a book ends in a way that forces you to read the next book... This book does that. I want to read the next book because I enjoyed the first and want to read on, not because The first one ends and leaves you hanging... I will not read the next one of these though... Not interested. At least this book was free and I did not waste any money on it

I could barely finish this book. It went extremely fast and the main character was so naïve and overdramatic at times! I mean really some of the stuff she did made no sense at all! Sneaking out of a restaurant cause you think a man who bought you a burger wants to sleep with you!!!! Who does that??? It wasn't like he bought you prime rib! Then the whole thing with her dad was over-the-top dramatic. She had the stupidest reasons ever for half the stuff she did and it made her look foolish. The ending was sucky, you can run away from your father but have to go with your mom because???
The only two characters with any sense was Logan and Jessica. All the other characters seem to dislike the main character for reasons unknown. It seemed like everyone was a basketcase for no good reason at all.

“Crazy Love” by Emma Keene was one of the worst books that I have ever read. You know how when you see a car accident that you can’t help but watch as you drive by? There is just an innate curiosity and you find yourself fixated on something that you really shouldn’t? That’s why I kept reading this book.

First of all, when you’re writing a book getting the words out on paper is an important part of the process. Another VERY important part is to have someone else read those words and help you edit out mistakes. If anyone was wondering, there’s = there is. So when you’re talking about multiple things, you should use there’re. Because you wouldn’t say there is ten tables. You would say there are ten tables. Basic grammatical rules – if you don’t know them, you need to have someone who does know them read your work before you publish. That’s just a stupid mistake and it was made over and over again in “Crazy Love”.

But for a really good story, I can overlook those things. The difference being that “Crazy Love” was not a really good story. What makes a really good story? Well to start, you need characters. When you are writing a novel, your characters are the most important part of your story. If no one likes your characters, you’d be hard pressed to find someone that likes the book. People like characters that they can relate to or that they will love to hate or that remind them of someone in their life. So to make a solid character, you need to develop them. This is where Emma Keene failed epically. Her characters were barely one-dimensional. It almost seemed like after writing the first few chapters, Keene decided to go a completely different direction with the book but didn’t want to bother changing the characters to reflect that. For example, in the beginning of the book Amy’s parents appear to be on the rocks with each other, but good parents overall. Then all of a sudden, her mom leaves her dad and her to move to Hollywood with a guy she met. So now Amy’s dad is depressed all the time. Then without any provocation, her dad is suddenly drunk in the hall trying to break into her room, becoming physically violent when he never has been before. I felt like this was something that Keene threw in there for a shock value. She didn’t take the time to build up to anything, it was just all of a sudden Amy’s dad tries to break down her door and do God knows what. Same with her boyfriend. They were on great terms and she calls him after her dad’s scary behavior and he leaves football camp to come get her, arranges for her to stay at his parents house if she wants, and then ultimately helps her pack her bags and move in with him for a few days. Then suddenly, he dumps her and that’s the last you hear from him. It was like instead of having anything naturally occur between her characters, she forced the story along with shock value hoping that no one would notice.

Would I recommend this book? Maybe as an example to aspiring writers on what not to do, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a good book to read. It was awful. I would never pick up anything by this author again. This was one of those situations where the free ebook was totally not worth it. Never again.

I think that Amy is a good girl. She seems really nice. I feel really bad for her because she got a letter in the mail saying she didn't get accepted to the same college as her boyfriend, then her mom leaves her and her dad, from that her dad becomes an alcoholic, and then her boyfriend breaks up with her. I think she is a really strong girl and I like how she always stays positive.

I thought this book was really good. I loved the ending but it made me tear up a little. I thought it was very cruel of what her mother did. I really hope Logan waits for that month to be over.

Wonderful Coming Of Age Story
This is a mesmerizing coming of age story. I was very disappointed to find out it is a cliffhanger. So far, there are 12 episodes in this series and this is the first. This would be a good series to read on KU. I will read more of her work as she is a very good author.

Book Review- Crazy Love by Emma Keene

Amy finds out that she wasn’t accepted into the State University like she planned. Her boyfriend is going to play football there. So all her plans are ruined. She can’t believe how her life is going. Then things get worse. Her mother leaves and pretty much doesn’t look back. She and her dad are left reeling. Her dad can’t handle it and turns to drinking after work to medicate his pain.
Amy can handle him until he gets physical with her boss and pounds on her bedroom door full of anger. She decides to follow Mitch’s advice and move out. She moves to Salem with Mitch. She has to stay in the football housing with the team. She is shocked when she walks in on a guy in the bathroom. He smiles and she flees. Mitch has to help her. Amy is uncomfortable and decides she needs a job and her own place. She walks around the new town then comes face to face with the guy from the bathroom. He invites her to go get something to eat. She is speechless but agrees. Logan takes her to a new place and attempts conversation. Amy eventually allows her guilt to get to her and flees.
Things start working out as Amy finds what she needs, a job and a place to live with a roommate named Jessica. She is feeling good about things until everything falls apart.
This book definitely has the right title. It was crazy. Amy’s life is not going well. Things keep going wrong. The reader really feels for her. Then she is able to get on her feet and start her life in a good direction. You cheer her on during that point of the storyline. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long.
It was a wild ride. I can’t believe her parents. They are completely horrible. I loved Mitch at first until his true nature starts shining through. Logan was incredibly sweet and I find him and Jessica as my favorite characters. They really become a support Amy. They made the story as Amy had to work through her complete mess of a life. The ending was sad but doable. It leaves you hanging a little by hints to how things are going to happen. I truly enjoyed reading this and find the emotional ride worth the read. A great book I give it a 5 out of 5.

Crazy Love by Emma keene is a book that follows Amy and her family as she tries to get into her dream school so she can be with her boyfriend Mitch at State but she doesn’t get in so her plans have to change and she’s not taking the reality of it all well at all. Her mom doesn’t take the reality of Amy not getting into state well at all either. I liked the book because it had a good story line and it showed a lot about the characters and how they have developed over the course of  the book. There was a lot of imagery used throughout the book that helped paint a picture of what was happening in the book. “Dragging my feet as I walk, I leave my room and head downstairs to face the firing squad. I step into the kitchen and my parents stop mid sentence and look at me. It’s a weird feeling, almost like I’m a toy that is being inspected for faults.” This shows how she uses imagery to show how she was dreading seeing her parents and how she feels like a toy that needs to be checked  for faults. Another one of the ways the book stays interesting is foreshadowing. She hints at what is gonna happen in the book and keeps everything on edge and the reader hooked.  Amy talks about having to break the news of not getting into state to her parents. She hints it’s not gonna go well. It keeps you wondering how well her parents are gonna take it. “My mom gets up and stands at the sink, looking out the window. I can already tell this isn’t going to be good. I hang my head and wait for it to begin.” The last way Emma Keene keeps the reader reading her book  is irony. She lets the readers know things before Amy’s parents know. Like when Amy finds out she didn’t get into state and she didn’t wanna tell her parents

I received this book in a book exchange this summer and read it as part of a challenge to clear my shelf. I probably would have enjoyed it as a teenager but as an adult it was hard to get past the amateurish writing style. Also, the main character, Amy, was almost unbelievably stupid. The book also had so many editing mistakes with constant misuse of verb tense and pronouns. The only takeaway from this was a reminder of how hard it can be for young adults who do not have a supportive family when starting out in the world.

Interesting

I have mixed thoughts about this book. On one hand, I liked the author's style. The line is interesting. The characters are well chosen and well developed. The main character is young and just starting her way in the world. The author allows her to be innocent and somewhat naive without appearing childish or superficial. Nice touch. On the other hand, a cliffhanger. Just don't like them.

From the overcomplicated yet slow moving plot and quickly forming yet lacking passion romance of the book, to the overly naive, melancholy protagonist and the failure of the author to elaborate on random supposed foreshadowing details, everything about this book seemed forced and disappointingly lackluster. I know the book was free, but I guess I just expect a little more - more in terms of romantic tension, character relatability, and story arc.

This book... I just didn't love it, I felt so bad for the girl, but at the same time she made so many horrible decisions that I couldn't make excuses for her. This is a pretty long series and I'm sad to say I'm not sure I'm up for the drama that this will be... but I may try one more time and see how it goes with the next book who knows.

Two stars is probably generous for this book.

The plot was contrived at best, the dialogue stilted, the plot predictable, and after all that it, ended on a very abrupt cliff hanger!

From what I can tell from investigating the rest of the series the only likeable character essentially disappears in the next book never to be heard from again.

Depressing

Unfortunately this book just kept getting more and more depressing. It started out light hearted enough but soon went downhill. I kept thinking that things would get better for Amy and there would at least be a happy ending. Worse, it leaves you hanging. The summary gives no clue about the sadness of the story.

Ok read

This book was just ok to me. There was a lot of misspellings and then sometimes things didn't make since. For instance Amy told Nancy the funeral is tomorrow at 11 which the funeral was the same day she said it. So anyways I won't be reading the next book because of this.

Solid storyline. Decent book overall. Here's what killed the book! 1. Simple spelling errors. 2. Need more proofreaders. The simple mistakes really took away from the story.

This book just lacked a lot of detail. The writing was very kiddish and very simple. The storyline was good but I just wish the author would have written it with more details and slowed the book down. Everything happens so fast.

I enjoyed the book, “Crazy Love”, written by Emma Keene. I really liked how I was able to connect with the main character, Amy, throughout the whole story. The relationship between Amy and her boyfriend, Mitch, reminded me a lot of my relationships. The love the two of them shared for each other was unconditional. I loved the fact that Amy was the typical type of high school graduate that has a perfect family. It caught me off guard when Amy didn’t get accepted into State University, she had made it sound like it was a guarantee. I just couldn't believe that her mom left her and her father the day of her graduation. Amy’s mom divorced her father to go be with a movie producer. When i was younger my mom divorced my dad and ever since then I have felt the same way Amy had felt about the situation. Things just never seemed to be getting better. The one major thing Amy and I had in common was our father's deaths. They were both killed unexpectedly which made it very difficult. I thought it was very stupid how Amy’s mom forced her to move to Hollywood for a month until her eighteenth birthday. After Amy and her father's fight she moved and started a life in Salem and then it was over all because of her mom. I just feel like her mom should have listened to her explanation of why she didn't want to move into Dexter’s house. It seemed weird and awkward for Amy.

In the story the main characters were: Amy, Mitch, Jess, Logan, Dexter, Amy’s mom, and Amy’s dad. Amy was the high school graduate that had her whole life planned out with her boyfriend Mitch. She expected to go to college and have a life after with the love of her life. Mitch was Amy’s first love that did not like the fact that she wouldn’t have sex with him. In return Mitch broke up with her and moved onto some other girl the next day, just because the new girl would put out. Amy found out and decided to move out, and started to rent a room from Jess, Amy’s new best friend. Jess is the one friend that Amy has actually been able to call a best friend. Logan was the guy that Amy ran into in the bathroom when she first had gotten to Salem. He was also the guy that was there for Amy when she found out about what Mitch had done to her. Logan became the only thing that Amy would think about. She then had fallen in love with him, even though she never even wanted to talk to him. Amy’s mom’s boyfriend, Dexter, was actually really nice. Amy hated him for breaking up her family, but after getting to know him she realized that he was nicer than her mom ever has been. He actually cared about her unlike her mom. Amy’s mom was nice in the beginning, but after she moved to Hollywood with Dexter she turned into a very, rich, mean lady. Amy’s mom acted like Amy wasn’t even her daughter anymore, which killed Amy inside. Lastly, Amy’s dad was one of the nicest guys she had ever met. One night he came home drunk and seemed to have become abusive. Amy locked herself in her room and refused to talk to him. Amy’s dad ended up dying in a carjacking on the way to Salem to see Amy.

The setting of this story started out in the small town of Greenville. Once Amy graduated she moved to Salem where the State University is located. Her mother then forced her to move to Hollywood after Amy’s father died since she wasn’t eighteen years old yet. It all took place in the year 2014 and the year after.

I would recommend this book to any teenage girl from the age fourteen to nineteen. It is a very simple read. The author made it very easy to connect with the main character, Amy, and all of her life issues that she had to face. The book is about the typical teenage girl that graduate high school and faces the biggest challenges of her life. A life just like any one of us girls.

“Crazy Love” is a novel written by Emma Keene. It starts off when Amy and her boyfriend, Mitch, are planning on graduating high school and going to the same college together (state). Amy gets home from school one day, and sees her letter from State. She opens it, and it says “We regret to inform you that based on your High school cumulative GPA and your SAT scores, you have not been accepted at this time. We wish you the best in furthering your education at another institution of higher learning and thank you for taking the time to apply.” Amy is crushed. Her plans for the next few years are ruined. Her mom then comes home, and Amy stuffs the letter in between the couch cushions. She knows that her mom has the right to know, but she doesn’t have the heart to tell her, because her mom was so confident that Amy would get in.
Amy texts Mitch, and asks him if he's busy. He is, so she will sneak out later that night to go to his house and tell him what happened. Once she's out, she gets there and tells him what happened. He hugs her, she starts to cry, and he comforts her. They then lay down on the couch to watch movies, and before they both know it, Amy and Mitch fall asleep. Amy wakes up the next morning, totally shocked. She wakes up Mitch, and he quickly drives her home. When Amy sneaks back in her bedroom window, and there are her parents, standing in her room before her. She tells them everything, even about the letter from State. Amy’s parents hug her, and suddenly she realizes everything will be okay.
Later on in the story, Mitch gets into State. Amy knows she should be happy for him. Eventually, Amy’s parents start to fight and her mom leaves, and her dad totally loses it. Mitch takes Amy and they leave, and she moves in with him at his college dorm/house. Amy meets a guy named Logan, who lives with Mitch.
Logan and Amy go to lunch, and Mitch finds out and gets very upset. He breaks up with Amy, and she's very upset. They had a life plan to get married, and he just ruined that all! Logan is there for Amy through all of this, and she appreciates this but she knows she can't be with him. Amy looks for a short time apartment/housing complex but she doesn't find much. One day when she's leaving work, she sees a sign that says that a girl named Jess is renting out a room from her house. Amy and Jess talk, and they really hit it off. Later that day, Jess and Logan help Amy get all her things from Mitch's room, and shortly after she's settled in. She keeps getting texts from her dad, which she doesn't answer.
Later on in the story, maybe after a few months, she realizes she should tell her dad where she is and what she doing. She calls him and explain what happened, and he understands and she decides to go home. When she gets there, she tells him what went on with Mitch and State, and he is very sympathetic. When she looks outside, she sees the car that was there when Logan dropped her off is still there. She asks her dad, and it ends up to be that Logan goes and asks what they want. It's her mom, and she wants to take Amy away with her and her new fiancé back to California. After they argue, Amy's mom wins and she takes her away from her dad, and most importantly Logan. She's very upset with her mother, who has changed drastically since she last saw her. Once she gets there, she is amazed by the beauty there. Amy eases up a little, and calms down. She talks to Logan everyday, and after a while she realizes everything will be alright.

The book, Crazy Love, is about a girl named Amy who had her whole life planned out. Amy and her boyfriend, Mitch, both want to go to the same college but when Amy does not get accepted, they are both devastated. Mitch tells Amy that it will be okay and everything will work itself out. But then Mitch starts to act weird and fades away from her life. Her mom starts to act strange too and leaves her family to go to Hollywood. Amy's dad starts to drink, due to this, and then shows up at her work drunk. He threw Amy's manager on the ground and gave Amy a pretty bad bruise on her arm. Amy decides to call Mitch and he said,"I want you to head over to my house. I'll call my mom and tell her you're coming over...I'll leave as soon as I can. It'll be a few hours until I can get there though." Mitch felt so bad for Amy that he said that she could come and live in his dorm at State.
When Mitch and Amy go to his dorm there was no girls bathroom and they both had to sleep in a twin bed. Mitch went to football practice so Amy went out. She came back to the dorm and was reading the texts from her dad when a guy named Logan came up to her. He asked Amy to go and eat with him. She knew she should not but she said yes anyways. At the end of the "date" Logan said,"So, do you have a boyfriend?" and she said that she had to go to the bathroom. Amy ran out the back door and never looked back. The next day she went out and found a job at a small diner, like the one in Greenville.
While Amy was on her way back from her new job, she sees a girl put a sign up for a room to rent. Amy goes and meets the girl named Jessica. Jessica says Amy can have the room and will help her get all of her stuff from Mitch's dorm. When they get there Mitch starts to act really strange. Then out of no where Mitch texts dumps her. But then Amy realizes, he was cheating on her.
One night Logan was at Amy house when they get a call saying her dad died due to someone trying to steal his car. The police officer also said that Amy's dad was going to see her and that he had some documents that he was going to give her. One of the letters was from State saying that Amy actually did get accepted and the other one was a personal letter from her dad. Since Amy's dad died, she was going to go back to Greenville for her dad's funeral. Logan said that he would drive her. After the funeral for her dad, Amy's mom shows up unexpectedly. She said that Amy had to go live with her until she turns eighteen. Logan and Amy were devastated but she had to leave.
The book Crazy Love really does live up to its title. By this I mean, Amy's love life is really crazy. A reason I don't like this book is it is so unrealistic. How would Amy's mom know that her ex husband just died? On the other hand, I like this book because it is about two people who fall in love and go through rough times together. I can't really relate to this book because I am only in seventh grade and do not have a love life.
This book is in between good and bad. A bad thing is the main character is only seventeen and the author gives her so many responsibilities that only an adult would have. One good thing the book teaches is it makes you appreciate your family and life. I have not read the other books in the series but I plan to. I would recommend Crazy Love to a classmate because it is cute how Logan and Amy deal with their bumps in the road and still end up together.
