Is gorgeous billionaire Da Silva finally off the market?
Reclusive billionaire Cesar Da Silva hits the headlines! Not only are his family secrets about to be exposed, but he's been caught kissing Lexie Anderson on the set of her latest movie, being shot at his imposing castillo!
Publicity-shy Da Silva has certainly smashed his own rules by romancing the high-profile actress. A reliable source suggests Da Silva is helping Miss Anderson over her last heartbreak with a string of dazzling dates. And if their chemistry so far is anything to go by, this is one match that's bound to be explosive!
Abby Green spent her teens reading Mills & Boon romances. She then spent many years working in the Film and TV industry as an Assistant Director. One day while standing outside an actor's trailer in the rain, she thought: "there has to be more than this". So she sent off a partial to Mills & Boon. After numerous rewrites, they accepted her first book and an author was born. She lives in Dublin, Ireland and you can find out more here www.abby-green.com
Another disappointing book by AG. I'm sorry but when I read a HP I don't expect my heroine being raped, then pregnant and then her child being taken away from her. This is a very dark story which would be suitable for another line but not for "Presents".
The heroine had such a tragic pass and I felt her pain as she tried to carry on with her life.
The hero did not endear himself to me in the beginning. His reaction to when the heroine tells him about her past was cruel and heartless. He should have shown some empathy but he did not.
However, I did enjoy the development of their story and liked the way they found happiness together.
I didn't mind that heroine had a dark past..and especially loved that she'd had counseling. So many HP heroes have abusive childhoods resulting in their cold manHo personas.... Actually, It was a better explanation for a 28 year old woman who'd never felt desire before than any other virginal HP heroine trope (notwithstanding the lack of a hymen, I view the heroine as a virgin). I loved hero's developing feelings, heroine's risk taking as they come to know each other. There was real beauty in their HEA.
Nice story, full of angst. We have an actress and a billionaire, they fall in insta lust. And when I say instalust I mean literally. He sees her and jumps like a tiger, kissing her and touching her like there’s no tomorrow. Didn’t even say hello. They are caught by a paparazzi and decide to pretend to be a couple for some time. She’ll have some publicity for her movie, he will have attention on that instead of the scandal regarding his mother. They are a troubled pair, she has an awful past, he too. Eventually they will find love and peace. I loved them both. The heroine was really brave, she was raped when she was 15 by her uncle and got pregnant, she gave her son for adoption because her parents abandoned her. A terrible story, something that unfortunately happens in real life. The hero was abandoned by his mother when he was a child and she had other children so he felt rejected. I loved how AG managed to put them together, despite their past. I would recommend it to those who have not issues with rape and adoption.

This is the last in a trilogy about three half brothers. Cesar is the oldest and the most damaged as his mother abandoned to his stuck, noble grandparents.
The heroine, Lexie, is equally damaged from a rape when she was a teen.
Overall, well done insta-lust romance where the characters find out more about each other as well as themselves. Questions about Cesar's mother are not really answered which is probably the most realistic aspect of the story.
Still, all in all, it could have been better developed.
When Da Silva Breaks the Rules is the third and final part of the Blood Brothers trilogy by Abby Green and can be easily read as a standalone. The previous books in the series were good but this one was excellent and my absolute favorite. Abby Green is her usual best in this one and I loved everything about the book. Right from the characterization to the hot romance, everything was perfect. Read More
3.5*. The reason this series came on my radar is that RT Books Reviews have this 3rd book as a top pick. I was a little tentative going into it because having checked out the other reviews I wasn't too hopeful. I'm not a fan of NA books and I thought I didn't want to read some pseudo NA type tale.
It took a little while to build but I soon wrapped up in the romance between the H and the h. Given pretty likeable characters, the fly in the ointment is the back-story, especially the h's. In this case it was harsh and dark but I could see where Abby Green was going with it. In order for the conflict to play out there had to be some resonance between the H and the h's past. In this case, and while there's always some issues, I felt that in the main this worked. The Epilogue brings the conclusion in a very typical HP schmaltzy style.
Possibly reading other reviews and the fore warning on the plot line may have helped set expectations and I enjoyed it. If I had gone in expecting all sweetness and light I may have been disappointed.
The HP books I enjoy tend to be because of a few reasons. They're well written. This was. That they resonate with me on an emotional level. This didn't. They tell a good tale of romance, with high glamour and glitz thrown in, and the guaranteed HEA that makes my heart melt. This did.
This is my first time to read a romance pocket book. I got it on a blind book date. It honestly scared me because I really don't read books like this. I read new adult but not hardcore romance. This is really new for me and you know, I like it.
I didn't know this is part of a trilogy. It felt like a stand-alone novel. (The first two are about Cesar Da Silva's halfbrothers.) This is about Cesar, rich hot Spanish bachelor, and Lexie Anderson, beautiful actress. They started an affair due to a really hot first meeting that the paparazzi has a photo of. (Reading that part made me go "WTF". It happened so fast.) It was sexy affair. They had a difficult time holding back but once they have started to make love, they slowly understood each other and grew fons of one another.
Getting to know both Cesar and Lexie was interesting, a tad bit predictable but still interesting. You can see how lust slowly changed into love and how their lives changed because of each other. Love wins!
Overall, I think this book is nice. I do thank Myra (my blind book date partner) for this book.
There was a lot of emotion in this one. Both H and h had traumatic backstories which heavily impacted their relationship. Their physical attraction was really strong from the off. I was very taken with their first meeting when Cesar (in jodhpurs - LOVE a man in jodhpurs) encounters Lexie in historical corset (she's an actor on location at his castillo) in the stable. Hot instalust. Nice bit of tourism in Salamanca and Lisbon. A lot to like. Don't read many modern HPs but I've tried a couple by this author and found them pretty good. Vintage remains my true love, however ;)
Cesar membuat kesepakatan untuk menjalin affair bersama lexie karna dy tidak mw media tw ttg dy dan saudara2 ny...dy tidak mw kalo media tw dialah putra yang tak diinginkan...yg dtinggalkan... dy mw media hanya fokus ttg affair ny dgn lexie dr pd mereka mengorek2 masa laluny...
epilooognyaa maniiiis sangaaat.... mereka pada kumpul semua... :)
oke,,series terakhir dari blood brothers...Da Silva datang sbg hero bertemu dg Lexie Anderson, sang aktris yg terkenal dan santer dg "hot" gosip. digambarkan spt cerita blood brothers lainnya, ketika Da Silva ketemu dg Anderson, reaksi kimia mereka sangat kuat. Sekali sentuh lsg wuzzz kebablasan sampai akhirnya aksi mereka terekam oleh paparazi yg berhasil masuk ke kawasan Da Silva. dari sinilah dimulai kesepakatan yg membawa mrk semakin dlm utk slg mengenal dan mengetahui masa lalu masing-masing. lebih sweet yah utk cerita mereka ini dibanding 2 novel sebelumnya walo gw masih penasaran dg nasib Caesar, sang cameo yg hadir di akhir2 cerita.
Surpisingly very good.
Definitely better than the first in the series, but not as much fun as the second. While I was sympathetic to the man's damage, and obviously to the woman's, overall I found their accumulated damage to be too much of a downer to really like the book.
If you can manage the angst, the story itself is otherwise enjoyable. Though the epilogue was just very..babysplosiony and that's never my cup of tea.
Brilliant! I like how this book tackles real life issues, like dyslexia and sexual abuse (if you have issues with mention of the word rape, don't read this book). The heroine will not be walked over. The hero grows (a LOT). Also, there was a really good ending that tied off all three books in the trilogy.
Lexie is on the set at Cesar's estate but is in the stables. Cesar sees her and is attracted but is interrupted by a photographer taking pictures. Cesar doesn't want family press nor does Lexie want another made up story. Together they work to keep their reputation clean but in the end, love finds them happily
De los tres libros, es el que más me ha gustado. Es el que ha provocado más emociones y es un poco diferente de los primero dos, que ha mi gusto se parece un poco la historia. Este tercer libro ha sido un buen cierre.
Didn't like it, I didn't like how tragic of a past heroine had and that hero left her and dumped her (not because of it but because he was scared of emotions). She let him know he was her only from since she was raped and just left,.of course he comes back. P.
this is the third and final in the series the blood brothers.
Cesar is the oldest of the half brothers, Rafaele and Alexio. He is a billionaire and very very successful. When he arrives home after the wedding of Alexio and Sidonie, he meets Lexie who is an actress and working on a movie, which is being filmed on his ranch.
The attraction is instant for both of them. Cesar, like his brothers, has trust issues with women, which also stems from the abandonment of himself by his mother when he was a very young boy.
Cesar and Lexie become lovers and they both agree to keep it with a no strings attached policy. However, it becomes harder for them both as the weeks progress and they both feel that something is drawing them to love, but neither one of them admits it to the other.
I really liked Cesar throughout the book. Even though he didnt believe in love, he never treated Lexie with disrespect.
Lexie was a beautiful person inside and out. She has a very troubled past. She was raped at the age of 14 by a family member and a pregnancy resulted from that. The baby was put up for adoption and she has come to terms with it.
The hardest thing Lexie did was to open up to Cesar about the rape and adoption. I loved the way that he felt so hurt by her story that he was falling apart inside.
They eventually had their HEA. The epilogue was beautifully written, including Rafael, Samantha, Alexio and Sidone and their families. Out of the three books in this series. This is my favourite one. All the brothers were great, but Cesar wins hands down in my opinion. I highly recommend this book and the others in this series. And it really helps if you read them in order as :
WHEN FALCONE'S WORLD STOPS TURNING WHEN CHRISTAKOS MEETS HIS MATCH WHEN DA SILVA BREAKS THE RULES
When Da Silva Breaks the Rules: I Didn’t care for this book that much, it’s not one of Abby Green’s best. I never warmed up to Cesar Da Silva. Lexie was plain annoying and I didn’t like her. Maybe the problem was that this was the third book I read this month that our heroine had been a victim of rape. Already it hits a sour note on a topic that has little romance. There was very little conflict and it took me forever to finish it. Still it was not a total bomb and I did finish it.
"Green’s lust-at-first-sight-leads to-love story is genuinely heartfelt. Her intuitive narrative brings readers into the story. The gothic castillo is the perfect backdrop for her broken hero and heroine and their sizzling romps (RT Book Reviews)". 4 1/2 stars
I think I liked this best of the Blood Brothers series.
Though I'd say a trigger warning as it tackles difficult topics such as rape and child abandonment though in a well written and believable way while still retaining the romantic elements.
