Sweet story with both Carolena and Valentino having obstacles to overcome. They are introduced when she joins her friend Abby and Prince Vincenzo for a combination vacation and business meeting. She and Val are immediately attracted to each other but a relationship is impossible. Val is engaged to a princess in an arranged marriage required for him to become king. Carolena has never recovered from the guilt that she feels over her fiance's death and has vowed never to marry.
I really liked Val. Even though he has a reputation as a playboy prince there is a lot more to him. He is a volcanologist who has a real passion for his work. He wants to be able to protect his people in the event of an eruption. When he meets Carolena he is bowled over by her beauty, and then entranced by her intelligence and enthusiasm. He knows he should stay away from her but he can't. The more time he spends with her the more he realizes his unwillingness to enter a loveless marriage. He has to convince Carolena that marriage between them is possible. I loved his determination to win her over. He showed sensitivity to her fears, but he wasn't going to let them get in the way of their future. I loved seeing him slowly break down her walls. He seemed to know when to push and when to back off.
Carolena is a beautiful and intelligent woman but she has closed herself off from emotional entanglements. She lost her fiance in an accident that she feels responsible for. She doesn't want to get involved with someone and risk that kind of loss again. Her immediate attraction to Val is so strong that it scares her. The more she gets to know him, the better she likes him. I loved her enthusiasm for his work and the way she made her admiration clear. She also sees how much he is loved and respected as the crown prince. She can't stand the idea of him giving it all up for her, certain that he would resent it eventually. She keeps trying to push him away but he won't go. Carolena has to learn to separate the man from the prince in order to see what they can have together.
I loved seeing the two of them together. Val was a real romantic and I really liked all the special touches of their time together. Carolena may have been resisting the idea of loving Val, but it was obvious that she did. Her trip to the volcano with him was just one way that showed her feelings. There was a really interesting twist to the problem of Val's engagement and I enjoyed seeing his reaction to it. I liked seeing Carolena finally take steps to deal with her issues and loved the confidence it gave her.

Carolena bersedia menemani Abby sahabatnya untuk berkunjung ke Gemelli, sebuah kerajaan tempat Valentino (sahabat dari Vincenzo, suami Abby). Bianca, ratu kerajaan Gemelli sendiri adalah mantan mertua Vincenzo. Di sana Carolena bertemu dengan pangeran Valentino, putra mahkota kerajaan Gemelli. Diantara Carolena dan Valentino terjadi chemistry yang cukup kuat. Hanya saja Carolena tahu diri, karena Valentino telah ditunangkan dengan seorang putri dan akan menikah saat penobatannya nanti.
Meski demikian, Valentino ternyata rela melepaskan takhtanya demi Carolena. Berkali-kali Valentino mendekati Carolena, tapi Carolena memilih menjauh. Btw, novel HQ yang satu ini "cukup bersih", palingan hanya ciuman antara Carolena dan Valentino saja. Tapi ceritanya menarik sih

This Crown prince Valentino is hot, charming, caring, hard working and romantic. He has a job that is fascinating to me and different from what most princes do.
I really like the characters and how deep they got in their lives. I love characters that I can care about what happens to them.
Carolena Baretti is a lawyer who is on vacation with friend Abby and her husband Crown Prince Vincenzo Di Laurentis or Arancia they were going to neighboring Gemelli. Carolena is bright, is not looking to marry.
Lots of drama, romance and family relationships. Did not want to put back till I was finished.
Valentino has been engaged for years to someone his parents picked. He promised when the time came for him to rule he would be married. He also promised that the day the date was announced he would be faithful to the princess.
Valentino sees Carolena diving into the pool and stops in his tracks to meet her. Carolena does not want his attention and does not want to be around him. Valentino does not want to leave her.
Their first date he takes her up to Mount Etna where the public can't go and shares his love of volcanoes with her. They get into deep personal subjects. They feel very strong for each other.
The Queen tells Prince Valentino that next week they will announce his wedding date. He will then be crowned after the wedding.
Valentino always keeps his promises. Now he wants to break them. He tells Carolena and gives her the power to decide there future.
I liked this story. Did not want to see it end.
I will read more of Rebecca's novels in the future based on this book.

But soon her plans to stay single are thrown out the window that minute she meets Crown Prince Valentino while vacationing with her best-friend Abby and her husband Vincenzo. The attraction between the two begins right from the start, and as the two start to spend more time together, the more she realizes just how much she is attracted to Valentino. Crown Prince Valentino knows the he has a duty to the crown and his family. After been betrothed to marry a princess for a while, it's already set that his destiny is to become a king one day. But his long interest in volcanoes has made him think twice about becoming a king and giving up on his dream profession. His mother has made it clear to him that he is to marry soon, but after seeing Carolena for the first time, he must decide whether or not it's worth giving up the throne to marry the one he loves.
I really enjoyed reading Becoming the Prince's Wife, it was a sweet yet fast-paced romance story. The characters had their troubles and they had to learn to overcome their pasts in order to be able to move on. Carolena's character was a bit frustrating to read, it took her a while to finally accept her feelings for Valentino. Whereas Valentino's character is sweet and romantic, he is definitely a true prince that wants to please Carolena and give up everything for her. While both characters had their personalities, the writing style felt a bit too rushed, especially the ending. I'm still not sure if I liked the writing as much. But the overall was good and the ending was satisfying to read.

Carolena is on holiday with her best friend’s family when she met with Crown Prince Valentino. She sworn off marriage and is happy to stay single with her work as an attorney to accompanied her. All that started to change when she met Prince Valentino. The attraction between them begins from the moment they met each other and as they spent time together, the harder she fall for him. Prince Valentino have duty to his country. He is engaged to someone that his parent and country approved off. But he is holding back till it is time for him to take the next step. But his feeling for Carolena is crowding his decision and action.
I like Carolena and Valentino. Both of them have their story that brought them to where they are in the story. Valentino is a romantic, loyal to his family and responsible to his country and because of that, he have difficulty to make a decision when it comes to his love for Carolena. Both of them have their trouble and they need to learn to overcome their pasts in order for them to have the happy ending that they want. I love reading about them together. Overall, it is a sweet read for me and I like the ending of the story very much.
