Every year, the FOOD & WINE Test Kitchen evaluates over 150 cookbooks to select the 25 most outstanding ones. We single out the most exciting and failsafe recipes from each and compile more than 110 of them into one incredible volume. This year's Best of the Best collection celebrates these winning dishes from superstar authors such as Michael Symon, Ming Tsai and April Bloomfield. To round out the collection, there's also a never before published bonus recipe from each author, plus easy, accessible wine pairings.
I have not had an opportunity yet to attempt any of the recipes, but there is a spectrum of difficulty. Some recipes call for common ingredients, while others merit a visit to a specialty store. In addition, some can be weekday dinners, while others would dazzle for special occasions. The book itself is organized by the spotlighted cookbooks rather than meal type. However, there is a table of contents that lists the different types these recipes fall under (e.g., dessert or breakfast). I am excited to give one of these recipes a try!
