Newsflash: Deployments are tough on marriages. People change after traumatic life experiences. Overall, a good guide for military spouses trying to prepare for life's changes. Good tips on how to help kids deal with deployment.

I really tried to find the good in this book and although there were some things I agreed with wholeheartedly, I found sooo much of this content very troubling. Particularly the infidelity chapter is upsetting because the author more or less tells the reader that cheating on your S/O is forgivable and can even make your marriage stronger. I really think that is the LAST thing that service members and their spouses should be told.

I am really enjoying this book! It does talk about some very common sense topics, however sometimes you need to read or be told about things that would otherwise be common sense when in a stressful situation. My soon to be husband is deployed as of now. Being apart is not something new to us, as we have been long distance quite a bit in our 4 years together, but reading this book helps put things in a different perspective. I have learned quite a bit from this book so far. I am looking forward to finishing it soon!

I would definitely recommend this book to any military spouse. It is very easy to read and provides some serious topics to talk over with your deployed spouse before he goes to make it easier while they are gone.

This was an infomative and insightful guide to how to survive deployments and military relationships in general. Didn't agree with every word, but her description of the "stages of deployment" were on par. Plus her ideas and list of resources were fantastic! Highly recommend it.

Back in 2005 my husband gave this book the day he left for another deployment. Great book.
