You're The Star! 15 Exciting Endings!  The Race Is On !

You are  a motocross racer driving in your first big race.  As the race heats up, you are among the leaders.  Suddenly, the rider just ahead of you skids out of  control and goes down. He looks as though he may  be badly injured. Should you drop out of the race  to try to help? Or would it be safer to leave him  to the medics, who will arrive  shortly?

If you stop to help, turn to page 63. If you  keep riding, turn to page 33. Decide carefully!  You could be the only chance the other rider has  if the medics don't arrive in time. But will you  really be able to save his life-or just endanger  your own?

What happens next in the  story? It all depends on the choices you make.  How does the story end? Only you can find out!  And the best part is that you can keep reading and  rereading until you've had not one but many  incredibly daring experiences!

I picked this book up from the library as a kid, not expecting much and though I'm not into motocross racing at all, I actually loved it. Upon rereading it, I still love it! The story goes that your character is a motocross racer trying to win a sponsorship and you run into some criminals at the track. Montgomery's writing is engaging and fun and he comes up with a lot of interesting scenes; however, he is infamous for his vague endings, and this book shows him at his worst. There is literally an ending where you are kidnapped. You don't know who your kidnappers are or where they're going. The End. Sorry, but that's not an ending, that's a middle finger that says, "I don't know how to end this scene, so I'm just going to stop here." Other than a few awful bad endings, the good endings are satisfying and work well with the choices you make. Like I mentioned before, the writing is great and fast-paced. Frank Bolle's illustrations are sufficiently detailed and realistic. An all-around fun CYOA that I would recommend for anyone.
