Recovering from a devastating heartbreak, Bailey Hart has sworn off all relationships and is determined to focus on her future away from Milton, Oklahoma. Everything is going according to plan until a mysterious new guy moves to her small town. Ty Jacobs is everything Baily wants to avoid however she finds herself drawn to him in ways she can't explain. Will Bailey's stubbornness force her to stay on the path she has laid out for herself or will Ty find his way into her already broken heart?
Let me start off my saying that I’ve already read the second book in the series and it feels like it could have been one story complete rather than having it spread across two books. There was a lot of overly angsty repetition that would likely have made it a better book all around.
Bailey finds her boyfriend has cheated on her. So knowing that she doesn’t have much more time in her small town of Milton before she heads off to college, she decides to avoid the distraction of boys. Enter Ty, the new guy in town that is sent to live with his aunt an uncle because of some trouble he got into back in his hometown of Detroit. The relationship gets hot and heavy quickly (which honestly squicked me out about because the characters were underage) and angst ensues.
The book is told through Bailey and Ty’s perspective and they came off as very immature and not particularly complex. We’re left with a HFN ending that will read right into the next book, so there is a definite cliffhanger ending. I almost want to say that it’s a spicy YA novel because of the immaturity. It’s human nature to want to know how it resolve so it’s on to the next volume to see how it plays out.
2 stars is pushing it.. really. It was juvenile and the main female character was incredibly immature throughout the entire story. I actually stopped reading at 33% and skipped to the last chapter and then read the Epilogue....seriously think that was the most interesting part of the book. Soo... I went back and skimmed through the rest of it and was still incredibly disappointed. There's a second part and the only reason I'm even considering reading it is because of this epilogue...but I'm not quite convinced it's worth my .99¢ and that alone is sad!!
Granted, I’m old. But none of this ever happened in my high school. Of course it was a Catholic school, but still. Lived close enough to the border that Tijuana was definitely an option when we all turned 18. Never happened. Except one girl got pregnant right after graduation.
Memory lane aside, this was just full of teenagers being mean, like the BFF who banged the FL’s boyfriend. Some crazy girl who tried to physically attack the FL while playing basketball. The new guy, who turns out to be the ML, getting miffed over her not telling him something within minutes of it happening. Pure angst…
Writing is good and the characters seem like teenagers, so I’m off to the next one. The cliffhanger is a good one…
After being betrayed and getting her heart broken by both her best friend and her boyfriend, Bailey Hart has sworn off guys. She will spend her summer focusing on basketball and her future, which hopefully takes her away from Milton, Oklahoma – a small town where everyone knows everyone and rumors run rampant. But then she sees him – who is this attractive new stranger in town?
Ty Jacobs is the new guy in town. He moved from Detroit to finish his senior year in Milton but one knows why – and he’s not willing to share that information. When he sees Bailey running one afternoon, he’s determined he has to meet her. He doesn’t know what the attraction is, but he’s not letting it go. Bailey is still holding strong on her vow to stay away from boys, but she can’t deny her attraction to Ty. She wants to trust him, but she can’t shake the feeling that he is hiding something from her. Can Ty convince Bailey that not all guys are like her ex? Will she give him the chance to prove it?
Stay With Me is a sweet story of love and learning to forgive, but I think it was a little bit much to be considered YA. I felt like everything kept moving too fast and some major situations just kind of got glossed over like it was no big deal. I loved the characters and the author did a great job of developing them, but sometimes they spoke and acted waaay too mature to be in high school. All in all, I enjoyed the story and it is a great debut novel from Abigail Kerber! I am looking forward to more, especially with that ending…I hate cliffhangers! ;-)
Stay with Me is the first book by Abigail Kerber. I loved this book. However, I found it hard to believe this book was set in high school considering it was filled with drama, sex and drinking.
Bailey grew up and lives in a small town filled with traditional values and gossip. Bailey has sworn off relationships after her last boyfriend slept with her then best friend. While running she meets a new boy in town, Ty. They hit it off and eventually date but drama follows. I liked Bailey she seemed down to earth considering she was from the wealthiest family in town. She was not snobby and seemed to go out of her way to be nice to everyone around her unless they hurt her first.
Ty is the new man in town in the small community. Ty falls for Bailey at first sight. He is hot, sexy and athletic. The chemistry between Ty and Bailey is blistering hot. The drama that Ty and Bailey manage to get themselves into is amazing.
Overall, this is a combination of fantasy and reality of what high school is. I loved it and I can’t wait for the sequel!
Stay With Me was amazing. I loved that although it was YA the teens in this story wasn't so hyped up on fashion and style, however they were teens so the party scene was still there but a little more realistic at least where I'm from. Abigail Kerber has a very well written story here and I can not wait to read the sequel. Stay With Me was very entertaining and full of excitement. It was a short read, I wish there was more, I could have read about Ty and Bailey forever. My only complaint would be the cliff hanger but that's because I NEED to know what is happening or going to happen, I mean WOW I so did not see that coming!!
Bailey has sworn off guys after her last break up, that was until she saw the new guy in town Ty. He soon lets her see not all guys are out to her and break you. Bailey wants to trust Ty but she doesn't know him well enough and he has secrets of his own that he's not ready to tell.
I absolutely enjoyed reading this book, though it was set in his school time. I will have to admit the author sure got the writing down as a highschooler. It is obvious this is her debut novel. But I have seen a lot of bad ones, though this isn't one of the best it is on it's way there.
I was hooked on the first page, and honestly could not put it down, I wanted to finish it.
It has drama, with a few character's, love between a few character's.
Though I feel she could have added more depth, and details on the character's. I'm not sure if it was a short novel or not but the chapters seemed very short. Also making the story fast paced and rushed, but not rushed where you were like 'what's going on? ' It all blended together.
As for the ending, I am very mad. Seriously the way she ended the book actually made me mad, that has never happened before. But the plus side there's a second book.
Bailey has been betrayed by two important persons in her life: her boyfriend Jeremy and friend Jessica. They betrayed her when they hooked up. With they betrayal the plans she had with him were gone.
She loves to play basketball and to run.
Ty is new guy in the town. Since they met, they were drawn to each other. They wanted each other.
But she is still broken. She needs to let go past behind her so she could trust Ty.
Some things happen and their love is put on the test. Will they be able overcome the obstacles? Is their love worth fighting for?
The ending was just wow. Definitely didn´t expect it. I hope that there will be next book because the ending left unfinished business.
A beautiful story that will make you want more.

>>>ARC received in exchange for an honest review<<<
The storyline was about cheaters. How Bailey gets cheated on twice by Jeremy and Ty. The writing and the characters were too immature. No connections whatsoever between Bailey and Ty. Instant love. At least Jeremy didn't get the other girl pregnant like Ty did. No HE A. It seemed this book and the next promote cheaters. I peaked at book two and it started with Ty reasoning out that he only slept with Andrea cuz he was at a vulnerable state right after he just finish talking to Bailey on the phone. I hated how I even read this book. I don't recommend this book. I would give this zero rating for promoting cheaters.
When you've been heartbroken, can you learn to love again? Bailey has been hurt by her ex and decides to put dating on hold. But, when sexy Ty comes to town, she has "these" feelings. Ty likes Bailey from the start and knows what he wants.
Very tender story of learning to trust again and I am really hoping there will be more to this story!!
When I started this book, I was thinking "oh great another high school/college drama." Well it is, but it sucked me in, and even though I wanted to slap Baily a few times, I did enjoy this book. The ending was OMG, so now I can't wait to read book 2!
