This is the military's first encounter with extra terrestrial life! Rae's tasked with interviewing the alien one-on-one.However, when she arrives to implement her mission of intelligence gathering, nothing goes as planned. She ends up kidnapped by Markar, who doesn't seem to know why he's so attracted to the small human, but he intends to find out!

Rae's always wanted a little more adventure in her life, but is this more than she can handle?

Markar came to Earth on a mission of diplomacy, knowing his species was superior to humans and that the Earthlings offered no threat to them. Now he knows the truth. Humans have one threat that could destroy the fabric of his species' females. But if they offer such a great threat, why can't he stay away from Rae?

This is a science fiction romance with plenty of action thrown in.

I really liked this book the Hero Markar is the optima of a possessive and jealous hero, he was my favorite part of this book he could be the definition of possessive and he even was when he didn't need to be I loved him. I liked the heroine Rae though I do think she thought she was tougher than she was and then(like most times in situation with a heroine like that) didn't think she needed help when she did **side rant what the crap, I hate that. I get being strong and an independent woman but when you need help you need help and just because your a woman w*o*m*a*n* doesn't mean you can do everything ** k side rant over lol. She didn't have tons of those but I am kind of sick of those situations in books. I wish we would have gotten the first sex scene from Markar's POV since she is the first woman he is ever with(which just created another great aspect of this story right there in an of itself).

The ending was way, way to fast and abrupt, it was almost like the author had to stay within a word count and got to it so the book ended, there are so many things left unfinished in this book that I really wanted the answers too because I think the author has a really great concept for this book and I wanted the questions answered and I also would love a book 2 about his brother which seemed to be the plan and now it seems the author isn't writing anymore(?) Overall I did like this one it easily could have been a 5 star read for me had the author added 30 more pages int he end I'm giving it a 4. I really enjoyed this author's writing style she easily created and new and interesting world and she also has a great writing style that easily sucked me in. I really hope I am wrong and that this author picks this series back up I feel like there is so much waiting for us int his world she created, and there is so much I want answers too. This is a very impressive book for a fist time author, and I hope we get the chance to see more from her.

Meh if not for the whiny TSTL heroine it would not have been so bad, story had promise but seriously just wanted to bitch slap Rae soo bad. Reviewer on amazon wax saying to a military person Rae seemed under prepared and consistently made dumb decisions lol news flash she seems dumb and under prepared to us non military background people too. So much promise screwed over by dumb ass heroine wouldn't really recommend this to anyone :( wish I had saved my money!

This could've been a really good book. But there was no attracting between the 2 main characters and you were made to feel as if Rae was more scared of Markar than attracted to him. The sex scene was mediocre. Disappointing

While I was reading the book, I did like it. It held my interest throughout and I didn't skip through it. I didn't enjoy certain tedious conversations, and certain situations but I did enjoy the idea behind this book and I was interested in the story. I did not like the ending - it felt very rushed to me and left me very unsatisfied. If the ending had been better, I would have rated it higher because this author does have talent.

Brief overview of the book:

*********SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!**********

Markar is a Morian, a race of beings that are all male and are reproduced through cloning. He has never seen or even heard of a female before. He travels the galaxy, studying different planets and species and evaluates if any of the new species he comes into contact with are a threat to his race. He has found Earth and is evaluating humans. He is held at an underground government facility under high security.

Rae is a human. She is an officer in the army and has been assigned the task of interviewing the alien. When Markar first sees Rae, yes he can see through the one way glass in the holding room, he feels strange and unfamiliar feelings. He decides to kidnap Rae and take her to his ship so he can further evaluate this "human".

While on his ship, Rae tells him about females and reproduction. He is greatly intrigued and develops strong and possessive feelings toward Rae. They kiss and she discovers that his saliva contains some kind of super chemical that really turns her on. They go to an earth-like planet so Markar can evaluate it and there Rae almost drowns. Within hours of her almost drowning, they make-love. They explore the planet some more, have another lovemaking session, and Rae almost dies - again. When she awakens, they have another discussion in which Rae decides she will be happy spending the rest of her life with Markar exploring the galaxy. The end.

*****End Spoiler*****

If that synapsis sounds good to you, you will probably like this book. If you are looking for more - you will be disappointed.

After reading...

Well, this was interesting. It really was.

I just finished it and I really liked it. I liked that they actually spent some time with each other, albeit I don't agree with how they did get to spend time together, before getting down to "business". And even in those instances the book didn't really put too much focus on sex with pages and pages of more same-old-once-you-read-it-once-it's-all-the-same-and-I-will-skip-it. It showed me enough and then it moved along.

The writing was good, although there were noticeable spelling mistakes, like,

“How would you heel?”

which was sort of weird since the word was spelled correctly just a few lines before.

I also liked Rae. She wasn't annoying like some other female characters in the same situation. And even in her "hazed" moments, she was a strong enough woman to pull away. Some of the times anyway...lol Although, she's far from perfect. She does make some very bad decisions... like when she ran in the forest. She should have known better than that. I knew better than that. *SMH*

I'm wondering if there will be a second book with them. I'm really hoping there will be. I'm curious to see how the ending "question" will be approached. I'm also wondering if maybe Jakar's story will be told. That whole "testosterone" questioning part was too funny and a perfect way to get even with his brother.

alien scifi capture erotica- 68% couldn't finish. Premise was interesting alien civilization reproduces by cloning - doesn't have females, meets first female human and is overwhelmed. It had promise but many plot points were not well thought out. They had been observing earth but had never seen a female until one was brought to his "interrogation-interview room? Seems very unlikely. Maybe if that and other inconsistencies were worked out I could have enjoyed it

The summary of the plot sounded interesting, but the actual story fell somewhat short. Characters are shallow, the chemistry was not very sizzly.

The heroine who is supposed to be a cool army chick, does exhibit some pretty idiotic behaviour, often demanding like a spoiled child to stay on a proven dangerous new planet. And despite the constant highlighting of her "joining the army" or being "highly trained", throughout the story she doesn't really show any cool/ highly trained characteristics at all. For a soldier who has been abducted into space by an alien race never before encountered, she is remarkably blase about the whole affair.

Hero started off as a promising alpha male, warrior type hunk of burning love.... turns into a wussy bumbling virgin who has to be sexually educated by the heroine, and gives in to all of her ridiculous (life endangering) demands. Awkward, awkward, awkward.

The only thing I took away from this story is that if you've never had sexytime before, the first person to make your dingly doodads tingle must be your one true love.

Hated Rea: Childish, headstrong, conceited, selfish, unnecessary risk taker, no common sence, a chip on her shoulder, and shd had a death wish. Uncaring if she put others in danger as long her she got her way usually by stomping her feet and yelling. (like a child) If she really was as high up in the military as this story tyed to make us believe we would be doomed as a species if aliens every did come to visit.

The premise for the story was good. But a few things need to be worked out. 1st - consistency. The main female captain was a military officer always commenting on her training. Yet the way she responded to different situations did not reflect that training. If you constantly say your character is a phenomenal soldier, the her actions should reflect it. 2nd - the story needs to be fleshed out more. The title is war games not how to get away with kidnapping.

I enjoyed the book and would like to read more. It seemed to me that it ended rather suddenly and I find that unsettling. I like a story to have a clear finish so I can move on to the next story. Does anyone know if there is to be another book. If so I hope she continues with Rae and Markar.

I liked it but it kinda just felt like it ended without a true ending. It felt a little abrupt to me.

"She couldn’t deny that he was very attractive, in an alien sort of way."

Calling an alien attractive...in an alien sort of way??

I couldn't stand the heroine, so this one was a very quick DNF for me. I quit after that very line I quoted, which was within the first few chapters.
