Megan 'Meggie' Foy has had a tough life. Her home life is nothing as it seems. Living with her mother and step-father is a complete nightmare. They seem to have the perfect little family, but appearances can be deceiving and monsters are closer than you think. When her body and mind can take no more abuse at the hands of her step-father, Meggie finally decides to run, hoping her father, MC President of the Death Dwellers Joseph 'Boss' Foy, can save her and rescue her terrified mother from the clutches of her step-monster before it's too late for them.

Christopher 'Outlaw' Caldwell deals in a world of violence, sex, drugs, and crudity. As current president of the Death Dwellers' MC, he presides over a club in chaos after the death of their longtime president and his mentor, Boss. Outlaw is trying to keep everything with the club in his control. What happens when more trouble arises in the form of a blonde haired, 18 year old beauty with the same eyes as his former mentor?

Meggie discovers her daddy is gone and now there may be no one to save her and her mother. How will she feel when she finds out the man who killed him is the man she's falling in love with? Can Outlaw get past his demons to truly find love with Meggie and peace with the death of Boss?

Alliances will be made, loyalties tested, lives will be lost, but will love conquer all in the world of bikers and revenge?

Warning: For mature audiences only. Contains physical abuse, violence, rape, and excessive profanity.

I am slowly but surely learning to manage my time more effectively and getting back to writing and connecting with everyone. I'm not completely there yet, but it is slowly coming together. Misled and Misappropriate have been updated with additional chapters and POVs from a couple more characters. Both books have about 30,000 more words and new covers. I have new covers for all the books in the series. Recently Misled placed first in the Mystery, Suspense, and Thriller category on Chick Lit Cafe. The paperback will also be included in an upcoming Reveal Book Box. While working on Reckless, I am also updating the text in the original series. About Reckless - It will be filled with death and destruction, as usual. However, I will admit to being slightly shocked myself at some of the turn of events taking place. I have restarted my newsletter with a new name, KatChats. Until the end of the year, I plan to send it out weekly because of all the news I have to share. After that, I will switch to monthly. I also have a new website. It should be online in a couple of days once the domain transfer completes. I also have a website dedicated to the Death Dwellers. It is still in its early stages, but it is live: https://deathdwellersmc.com.
Meanwhile, if you have any questions, please send them my way.

Kathryn C. Kelly is a New Orleans native who has called southeast Texas home since 2005. She had intended to travel the world but always return to her beloved New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina had other plans. She is the mother of three beautiful daughters and the daughter of one gorgeous mother whose footsteps she followed in by becoming a writer.
Kathryn is the former owner and editor of Inside Rose Rich Magazine. She and her mother have been published by Jove Books as Christine Holden. The books have long been out of print but they got the rights back to the five novels and have plans to re-release them soon.
Kathryn is a cancer survivor. In 2010, she felt a small lump in her breast. In 2015, at the urging of her mother, she went in for her bi-yearly mammogram and was diagnosed with Stage 2b/3a HER2 positive breast cancer. On November 30, 2016, she rang the bell. During her treatment, she was also diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome.
In 2013, Christopher "Outlaw" Caldwell introduced himself to Kat in the most cliché way ever. He came to her in a dream. After the inauspicious meeting, he planted himself in her mind and the motherf...the gentleman hasn't left yet. In what was only supposed to be one book about the fictitious Death Dwellers MC, Outlaw has become a source of amusement, a well of frustration, and a bone of contention between Kat and one of her daughters.
She is hard at work on Reckless, the book that will bridge the OGs with a new generation of Death Dwellers. Her work has been included in several anthologies and she is looking forward to other upcoming single title releases, including Savage Suit from the Cocky Hero Club World created by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. She is a former RWA member. She also served as Vice President for the SOLA chapter of RWA.
She is a New Orleans Saints fan, but roots for the Texans, the Rockets, and the Coogs (U of H) as long as they aren't playing any Louisiana teams. She loves champagne and sparkling wine. One day, she will try Snoop's brand. She still loves Chivas Regal but had a chance to taste Sassenach Scotch. A #lifegoal is to one day buy herself an entire bottle and keep it all for herself.
In her head, she is a biker babe with a Harley in her garage, waiting for her to hit the road. In reality, she has yet to hop on a bike and ride. She loves Cards Against Humanity, has very strong opinions that she keeps to herself, has to take her time to talk in public so nothing untoward pops out, and always strives to see the best in people and in life.

TSTL CHARACTERS 101

Course Objective:
Identifying TSTL characters such as Christopher “Outlaw” Caldwell (H) & Megan “Meggie” Foy (h) in Kathryn Kelly’s, Misled (Death Dwellers MC #1).

description

TSTL (Too stupid to live): A mental and social disorder whereby characters lack the mental aptitude and social skills necessary to become productive members of society. ~ Urban Dictionary

PART 1:

description

#1. A TSTL HEROINE has stupid comebacks.

EXAMPLE:

Outlaw: “Don’t you walk out that fuckin’ door, Megan.”
Meggie: “Bite me. You overbearing, conceited rhinoceros.”
Outlaw: “Go back to your momma where little girls belong.”
Meggie: “Go back to hell where mean, cantankerous men belong.”

TRUE OR FALSE: A TSTL heroine thinks “conceited rhinoceros” & “mean, cantankerous men” are brilliant comebacks.

description

ANSWER: Umm… No! The answer is TRUE.

#2. A TSTL HEROINE is stupid.

EXAMPLE:

Outlaw: “We have church. It’s gonna be intense, so no women."
Meggie: “I want to go to church. I need to pray. It doesn’t matter how intense it gets.”

AND
K-P: “Christopher is president. That makes you first bitch.”
Meggie: “You mean first lady?”

AND
Meggie: “Traveler was the name of General Lee’s horse.”
Outlaw: “Up on Civil War history, are you?”
Meggie: “I love Gone With the Wind. ”

TRUE OR FALSE: A TSTL heroine knows lots.

description

ANSWER: Oh-Kay. But the answer is FALSE!

PART 2:

description

#1. A TSTL HERO does stupid shit.

EXAMPLE:

Outlaw: “Kiera and Ellen agreed to take you shoppin’ today.”
Meggie: “I’m not going anywhere with your girlfriend. I saw you together yesterday.”
Outlaw: “Megan. I never expected to have to tell you this. But I fucked Ellen, too.”

TRUE OR FALSE: A TSTL hero makes his heroine hang out with his sluts.

description

ANSWER: Noooo…? The answer is TRUE!

#2. A TSTL HERO says stupid shit at stupid times.

EXAMPLE:

Snake pointed a sawed-off shotgun toward them.

Outlaw: “My mother. You killed my mother.”
Snake: “My father. Your mother.”
Outlaw: “Megan ain’t my mother.”
Snake: “No, she’s my sister.”

TRUE OR FALSE: A TSTL hero discusses genealogy while held at gunpoint.

description

ANSWER: Um, that’s nice! But, the answer is TRUE.

I'm Greeted With Horror Shock Facts & Screwy Details

description

Sensitive readers beware, the opening chapter is some brutal shit...

• Step dad beating hell out of and raping the MC's mom.

• FMC is a self-harm cutter.

• FMC is beat, fondled, and sexually assaulted by step dad multiple times.

Listen, I have a hard time reading child abuse of any sort. The FMC is 17, a month from 18, but it's still very difficult for me.

I've learned that I can, will
read the details of such, but ONLY when it's absolutely pivotal to character & plot development.

It's simply not here, and that sickens me.

(((( Dear author, if you'd like to see how to take hardcore abuse and ensure that it's detailed enough for the reader to feel it in every bone in their body , but also written in a meaningful way to the character so that it doesn't sensationalize it for the sake of book shock ... See this https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25059121-we-were-one-once ))))))

The above should be a highly emotional chapter & scene, and the facts
most certainly are. It's the implausible and inconsistent details of those facts that have me so distracted and sickened with knowing this is just gore for the sake of gore.

Here's what I mean...

Fact:

She's lived with stepdad 5 years, all highly abusive. Graphic scene of him sticking his finger up her ass.

Details:

In all that time, stepdad hasn't had genital to genital sex with her because her mom won't put her on birth control. Say what? He's never heard of a condom? He beats these women senseless but can't manage to force some BC?

An abuser like this that hasn't gone further because his victim isn't on birth control is about as believable as a car thief asking if you have insurance on your car.

All this nonsense detail does is trivialize the fact that she's being brutalized by her stepdad brutality.

Fact:

She has a razor in her hand cutting her legs, arms, & hand. She's bleeding all over the fucking place as her stepdad is graphically molesting her.

Details :

Stepdad has zero concern about all this blood? No concern over the potential weapon she's using to cause it? Again, by adding such nonsense, my mind isn't on the MCs plight, but rather on how I'm being asked to read a horror wrapped in bubble gum paper.

I'm not even 5% in and this has been 50% horror for the sake of shock & 50% nonsensical and inconsistent detail of that horror shock shit.

AND IT JUST WONT STOP

This pattern of pairing shock facts with unbelievable or unbalanced details just continues throughout the book.

For example, we have to suffer through trigger after trigger - 1) written descriptions of the rape and murder of multiple women and how the MMC helped cover it up by disposing of bodies, 2) a detailed account of a woman's throat being slit 3) a vivid account of a 14-year-old girl's rape and murder.

For what? All that just to show that the FMC's dad who 1) abandoned her FIVE years ago 2) and has been dead a year isn't the white night she's imagined him as being & the MMC isn't a fuckwad for killing him.

description

Another example...

She's an abused self-harmer, but she has zero emotional problems when she starts having sex with the MMC, who has the emotional care of the devil himself, and her cutting just stops. So, if such triggers for readers aren't an important part of her character development/understanding, wtf make me read all the mfing gory details of it in chapter one?

description

I have zero, abso-fucking no, respect for how this author handled sexual abuse and cutting. NONE!

Meet Outlaw AKA The Dickweed

description

I have read some really bad MMCs, but this dickweed fucker takes the penis cake ...

description

.... shits on it, shoves it in your mouth, and then kicks you in the gut as you're trying to puke it up.

Please tell me why an author would intro an MMC having a detailed threesome?? Why? Do I want to know....

• he's had two ho's on a regular threesome for six months.

• at the very moment, he had "his dick in Keira and his tongue in Ellen."

• he "lapped her juices."

• he'd make one of them his old lady if not "for her whoring."

description

Want to know how he's intro'd to the FMC?

He literally just moments ago had his fingers all up in the ho duo before meeting the FMC and "rubbing his thumb over her lips."

description

At 28%, and scene after scene of how different Megan is, readers have to suffer through him getting a blowjob from one of his ho' duo.

More on the lovely dickweed...

Bitch is his favorite word for everyone except his mom. There's a language warning, and I'm the last person to EVER say shit about cursing, but these numbers make even my potty mouth pucker:

• bitch - 180
•fuck - 687
•cock - 43
•dick - 92
•pussy - 109
•motherfucker - 101
•goddamn - 14
•shit - 168

He labels the FMC an angel, an innocent. Yet, he says shit like this at 22%...

"He should've just left Megan by the creek. Or thrown her the fuck in so she could join the father she searched for. Then, again, maybe no. Boss was burning in hell. Megan deserved a place in heaven."

description

He parades his ho duo in front of the FMC; she reacts poorly to say the least, calls him a rhino, and throws beer and the shoes he bought her (same as the ho' duo have on) at him. His response...

"You ain't staying here, bitch. You fuckin' right. Go back to your momma's where little girls like you belong."

description

He proceeds to shake her, tell her that he'd knock her out if she was anyone else, and call her a "fuckin' little piece of baggage."

^ Yes, he knows stepdad beats her. Ain't he just such a winning catch ?!?

description

Oh, he's not done. No, he asks her in front of the entire MClub and his ho duo ...

"That's why you lookin' for Boss, yeah? Your step-fuckhead tryin' to take your pussy?

Apparently, this book skipped all Friday's.

description

Listen, I'm at chapter 19 and this piece of shit is still contemplating OW; hasn't developed any meaningful, even civil, mfing feelings for the FMC; and is still just as big of a dickweed as ever. I'm done ~ period.

Meggie

description

description

BGurl covered TSTL so throughly on fruit loop Meg that there's little more I can say. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1557551892?book_show_action=false

I mean this chick has been at the MClub searching, waiting for her father, the MClub PRESIDENT, for DAYS and NO ONE will give her a straight answer. All of a sudden marshmallows hit her fruit loop brain and she asks why Outlaw has been in THE PRESIDENT office and wearing THE PRESIDENT cut when that's dad's office and cut.

So, yeah - Fruit loop.

Anyway...

After the above boot throwing showdown, what does Meggie ultimately do in response to this dickweed? She sits her ass down & ponders how safe he makes her and how hot he is, of course.

Her character can be summed up as...

description

It's an endless cycle of her basically begging for his dick. Being denied the dick by the dick. Crying over all the places the sick has been and will be that's not her. Finally getting said dick. Him being a dick and sticking his dick elsewhere. Her pouting and crying about all the above dick action. Her getting more dick. And we start over.

One question for the author on her characters...

description

Could This Get Any More Nonsensical? Gross? Unromantic?

One would think so, but it can and does.

The Nonsensical...

I'd be hard pressed to find a book with plot points and character actions any less logical.

The MClub gets shot up. Dead people everywhere. The MMC, who's the president mind you, is shot to hell and on death's doorstep. While he's laying around bleeding and dying, his brothers are cleaning up the dead people. Not helping their breathing for now president stop bleeding. Not carrying him to a hospital. Cleaning. Out. The. Dead. People.

The Gross

One of the ho' duo, Kiera, goes to see the MMC in the hospital after he just woke up from a fucking 6 day COMA! First thing she does? Mention his dick. Second thing she does? Stick her tongue down into his mouth. SIX day old mouth funk

description

The Unromantic

His thoughts at 37%...

"In the big picture, Kiera was a sweet girl, just the type of girl he deserved and wanted. Sweet but not innocent. Tough but not vicious."

How the fuck do you EVER want me to buy some romance between the MCs with him saying shit like this about OW after the FMC has sat by his bedside for days?

Oh, wait, I guess I'm not supposed to be buying a romance between any one, even almost half way through the book...

"I ain't makin' love to you or no bitch, Megan," inserting a finger into her tight pussy but going only so far. "You want me? Then we fuckin.'

They have oral sex. He degrades her. She's hurt. He leaves for days. The next time she sees him, he has one of the ho duo bent over his desk. He "chuckles," strolls over to the door with his dick swinging, and slams the door in the FMC's face.

description

I thought this was a romance, not a mfing horror book ~

description

This dickweed then has the nerve to enlist the ho duo to be the FMC's new BFFs to make her feel "at ease and safe" and take her shopping where she will have to ask them for money to buy what she wants.

Her response is to bitch and moan, but ultimately ...

description

He goes to the FMC & informs her he wants her "pussy" if she is going to stay. The fruit loop chick that she is asks if that would make her his girlfriend...

description

Her: "What would I be?"
Him: "Some ass, I guess."

description

She missed that memo. Her response...

Well, wouldn't you softly grab his dick as a yes I'll be your "some ass?"

The kicker?

All his BS is supposedly because he doesn't want commitment and responsibility, okay? Yet, he keeps telling her he is gonna put his kid in her belly, and they don't use protection once they "fuck."

description

Wtf does he think will happen once he has a kid?

I digress ..

After she returns from her friendly shopping trip with his ho duo, out of the mfing wild blue yonder, he says...

"I love makin' love to you."

description

No fear!!! 10 minutes later he's back to telling her he will fuck other bitches blah blah blah.

ScRew TSTL. This dude is TSTD(ie). The devil would send his ass straight back and blockade the gates of hell. No joke.

Bottom Line

description

The mighty Thor himself could offer me a private and extensive tour of his magic hammer in exchange for awarding this book just one star... I'd tell him to shove his hammer up his ass.

I don't think I've ever read a book where I couldn't come up with one, just one single, positive word for author, character, or plot. I can't here.

At 60%, it was either get shitface drunk at 9:30 in the morning to stomach this or call it quits. Sober as a judge.

****Bgurl... Your hilarious review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1557551892?book_show_action=false
gave me the wonderful idea that I could get a good laugh at the Gone With The Wind TSTL. The last few hours of mfing torturous hell reading is apparently the penance I get for being an evil bitch wanting to laugh at stupid chicks. Never again will I laugh at TSTL *shivers.* From hence forth, I shall run hard in the other direction of any book with "TSTL" in the review.

I am not a fan of writing negative reviews so I will keep this short, and list my reasons why this book did not personally work for me.

1 I didn't connect to the characters. The heroine was eighteen years old, but behaved like a ten year old for most of the book. Most of all she had no backbone and allowed the hero to completely control her.

2 The hero was an absolute pig most of the time, right up to the very end I still found nothing redeemable about him.

3 They are almost killed and the first thing the hero thinks of doing is having sex. Are you kidding me??? How about you find the nearest hospital and treat your injuries.

4 There was too much over the top drama. It just kept going on and on and I got a headache from it all.

5 I know they are bikers and have filthy mouths but there was an overuse of F bombs that were just not needed.

6 Most of it didn't feel quite believable or real. I know its fiction but the storyline just felt too over the top. *see number 4*

7 I couldn't understand why the hero who's supposed to be so tough and bad ass still behaved like an infant because of his last name. Everyone seemed to move past it except him. *see number 2*

8 Why did the heroine never think to go to the authorities when her step father started abusing her and her mother? Why didn't she tell her friends or someone at her school? Surely someone would've helped them especially since her mom is an Assistant Principal.

9 How could the heroine so easily accept that the man she loves killed her father, and just let him back in so easily? Oh wait *see number 1*

10 Insta-lust!!!! Need I say more? I was not invested in the story and I almost DNF six... yes six times :( *see numbers 1-9*

Please keep in mind this is simply my honest opinions about this book.

Now, this is what I call a 'biker book.' And it's definitely not for the fainthearted. It's very dark and violent but surprisingly, it has a lot of lighthearted moments too. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Full review to come closer to the release date.

Meggie had a gun in her face, pointed at her head.

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute!!! Are you saying the gun was pointed at her face AND at her head???!!!

The man holding the gun could be a sex symbol women all over the world drooled after.

If you don't believe her, just take a closer look at the cover.

The inescapable work of art slapped you in the eyes the moment you stepped through the door and looked to the left.

Is it a cuckoo clock?

Meggie kept her head bowed, slurping up the soup like the starving maniac she was.

I don't think "maniac" means what she thinks it means.

It was going to be a fucking tedious [motorcycle] ride with her unconscious.

So what did he do? Hogtie her to the bitch seat? I really would like to know the logistics of carrying an unconscious girl on a motorcycle.

Outlaw could only be thankful Rack hadn't raped her.

This after he conducted an in-depth medical and forensics examination consisting of wiping her down with some wet towels.

And, finally, the piece de resistance:

Balancing her plate on top of the can, she pushed open the door. The food and drink slipped out of her hands and her greeting died on her lips, her stomach sinking to her toes. Christopher leaned over Kiera, bent over the desk, both of them naked.

(...)

Christopher chuckled and pulled away from her. "Wait a minute," he murmured. Unashamed in his nudity, he sauntered toward Meggie, sidestepping her lost supper. Grabbing her by the arms, he backed her out of the room and slammed the door in her face.

Meggie swiped at her tears then ran to Christopher's room. The time had come for her to leave...

Really, ya think???!!! But instead, that very same night:

He stroked her soft cheek, stained pink, warm beneath his caress. She sighed and leaned into his touch.

"I ain't gonna say this shit but one fuckin' more time, so listen. You in my bed. If I sleep in here, we're fuckin'. Ain't no ifs or buts about it. So you think long about that before you answer me. If I leave, I'm gonna go fuck Kiera..."

(...)

She chewed on her lower lip. "What would I be?"

"Some ass, I guess."

Clearly an offer she couldn't refuse.

I am not rating this because for me, even one star is too much!

OMG, I cannot believe I read this:( I actually read in disgust the first 50%...yeah, I cannot even believe I continued but I kept giving the benefit of the doubt that this complete douchebag would turn it around for me but no there was no coming back from how he treated Megan and talked to her from the start. I am still in shock. He was a complete douche and she was just a complete freaking moron!

I skimmed the rest and cannot believe I did that either but it was like a train wreck, I didn't want to continue on but felt I had to because I thought this girl cannot be that much of an idiot and yep, she sure was! Ughhhhh, this was just really bad for me personally!

I have no real words here, I am in shock that I even read as much as I did:(

MISLED is totally different than any of the other biker books I have read. I can't really put my finger on what makes it different, but it has a totally unique vibe. The lead male is absolutely unrefined and rough around the edges - not unlike other biker book characters, but Christopher, aka Outlaw is somehow different, and I like it!

The characters use lots of variety when it comes to using the "f" word - sometimes I thought it got in the way of whatever they were trying to convey, but totally in line with their over all personas.

Christopher is kind of raunchy, but I quite enjoyed his dirty mouth and he just might make it on my best dirty talkers list... I have to review his rhetoric before making that final decision on that. But here is a teaser of one of my favorite scenes that might make your panties melt, so you might as well go ahead and take them off – and if you don’t, just know that you have been warned!
What are you doing?”
“I’m about to eat your pussy,” he muttered, pulling her legs apart and sniffing the
musky aroma of her arousal combined with his cum.
“You can’t possibly want to do that now.”
She sounded horrified and embarrassed. He tipped his head back to look at her
face. He chuckled, finding her look matched her tone. Keeping his gaze on her, he ran
his nose along her slit.
“What are you doing?” she squealed in outrage.
“What the fuck you think? Smellin’ your pussy.”
She wriggled her body up, but he wrapped his arms around her thighs and pulled
her down.
She covered her face with her hands. “Oh, God. Kill me now.”
He laughed at how dramatic she was being.
She raised up on her elbows. “I need a shower,” she said with a prissy little sniff.
He licked the top of her mound and she shivered. “Don’t wanna smell soap, Megan.
I want to smell your just fucked cunt filled with my cum.”
“My God! Why?” she wailed, giving up her losing battle and plopping down on the
mattress.
“Trust me, sweetheart,” he said gruffly, taking pity on her. “I promise you you ain’t
gonna give a fuck what condition your pussy is in once I start lickin’ you.”
“Doubtful,” she mumbled. She stayed focused on the ceiling. “Just get it over with.”
Unable to stop his smile, Christopher pushed her legs open further and watched his
cum drip out of her. He gathered the moisture up and worked it back inside her with
his finger.
“Please, stop staring at that part of me.”
“What part of you?”
“There!”
He laughed harder. “I don’t know where the fuck there is, Megan.”
“My vagina,” she snapped.
He laid his head against her hip and guffawed. “I guess my dick is a penis to you,
huh?” He didn’t remember the last time he’d laughed so hard. “I’ll give you lessons on
the proper terms for our anatomy on another day. Quick refresher. You have tits and a
pussy or a cunt. I have a cock or a dick. Got me? I don’t fuck vaginas. That shit
sounds borin’. Hot vagina. No. That shit sounds ridiculous. Hot pussy. Hot pussy is much better.”
She giggled and nodded, her tension easing.

See what I mean? Hot-Ass-Dirty-Talker! I totally love that author Kathryn Kelly was able to incorporate some humor with that naughty rhetoric – that takes special talent and she has it in spades. If you are looking for the next best biker book, then you have got to get this! You are going to love it!!

5+ Fucking Awesome Stars!!

Misled now joins the ranks of my favorite MC books ranging from:
1) Own the Wind by Kristen Ashley
2) Last Riders Series by Jamie Begley
3) Craving Constellations (The Aces, #1) by Nicole Jacquelyn
4) Sam Crescent's The Skulls Series
5) Reaper's Property by Joanna Wylde

If I missed any, it was merely because either I: haven't heard of it, didn't read it, thought it was just okay, or just simply classified it as absolute crap. Sorry.

Misled tells the story of 18 year old Megan who runs away to her father's MC club after being preyed upon and abused by her stepfather. She meets Outlaw, the current MC president, and sparks immediately fly.

Only... Outlaw has a deep and dark secret..one that could forever change things between them and that could put both of their lives at danger...

And even more so, Outlaw refuses to commit to just one woman and yet he feels an intense claim over Megan. Sounds like a walking contradiction doesn't he?

What will become of these two? Will Megan's stepdad catch her? How will Megan deal with Outlaw's secret? Will Outlaw ever commit to her? And will Outlaw's secret unleash some deadly out lash?

Read and you will find out!

An AWESOME, AWESOME READ!! :) :)

Well...

Female main character : naïve

Male main character: Idiot

All I was thinking...

You can see my following review also here: http://loveandlivetoread.wordpress.co...

I really wanted to like this book. I read the blurb and I thought:”Well, this story must be good. Heart-breaking and difficult to read, but good”. The truth? The idea of this story was very good but the characters very problematic and not in a good way! This book has to many messed up situations and I was very uncomfortable reading some of them.

Megan left her house because of her abusive stepfather and she went to her dad’s MC in order to be safe. Soon, she learns not only that her father is dead but that the man who is responsible of his murder is the man she comes to love.

I will start with Megan. This girl was driving me crazy through the whole story! Really, naïve is a too kind word to describe her! She’s eighteen, she left her house (the only right thing she did, of course!), she went to a MC and when she realized that her dad is dead, she didn’t press for answers. Also, she hasn’t any dreams at all and she didn’t even finish school! What else? She had unprotected sex with a guy she barely knew and she was acting like a fourteen-years-old girl! Of course, she ends up pregnant and only then she learned all the truth for the man she loves! And, surprise-surprise, at the end of the book she’s a pregnant eighteen-years-old girl getting married to a biker she barely knew!

Now, let’s talk about Christopher. He’s not a badass biker. He’s just a jerk. He’s possessive but not in a cute way and, I have to admit that I didn’t see any special love from his part. Lust, yes. Passion, yes. Love? Sorry, I didn’t see such thing! He was acting like a barbarian in the whole book. He said to Megan that he was going to cheat her, he treated her like a child (weird if you think that they had a lot of sex) and he left her alone with his cousin for days because he wanted to see if they were going to have sex! I won’t tell anything about the fact that he killed her father because he was a bastard also after what he did but the fact that he slept with her without telling her the truth speaks volumes about what kind of man he is.

So, although, I liked the concept of this book, the characters were a huge disappointment. I love books with bikers but in this one something was missing, unfortunately. Maybe the next of this series will be better!

Went on a reading binge this weekend....hmmm...let's see, I read one really good biker story and one that didn't quite work up to snuff. Guess which one this is...
description

This one was raunchy as hell though(I got caught up at one point in the grit of it...and...the sex of it (LOL).

But the heroine wasn't my cup of tea, and with a moderate douche bag as a hero, I put out enough eye rolls at some of the nonsense.

The hero, Christopher, was almost as much of a douche as Deuce from Undeniable, but I understood him more than I got Deuce... in one book.

Now this is how I like my MC books to be! Hard and gritty. Outlaw (Christopher) and Megan's story just sucked me in from page one. I new after the prologue that this was definitely not going to be a "soft" MC book. There were some mild editing issues but aside from that, this was a really great story and I'm definitely looking forward to continuing this series.

Wow loved this book one of the best biker books I have read this year! Megan was a little bit whiny and immature but I let that go as she was only 18 so it didn't annoy me as it normally would. Christopher was foul mouthed but so hot with it that I actually missed it when he was trying to temper it down! Well worth the read and def a keeper!

"You are who you are." "The choices you made might not be the perfect ones, but they were the ones you needed for the place you were at in your life."

My casting:

She was good, an angel in the midst of hell.

Megan 'Meggie' Foy
Damn, if Megan didn't annoyed the crap out of me! I mean, she was abused, yet she freaking let Christopher damn near abuse her too! In the start when they first meet each other, she goes and touch him like a lover!?! I mean, who the fuck does that when minutes ago he had a fucking gun to your head!?! She was an incompetent, naive, annoying kid!!!!

Conceived in violence, live in violence, and I’m sure I’ll fucking die in violence.

Christopher 'Outlaw' Caldwell, well I don't know how to describe him other than big muscles and a man who fucking curses all the fucking time with 'fuck', 'fucking', 'fucker'...ect.. Damn, I might have liked him if he didn't curses like three times in one sentence! I mean come on!

Christopher felt as if the sun had walked out of his life and sank into oblivion.

You have any idea how many times I wanted to quit this book? Soooo many times! But damn, if I have come so far, I sure as hell was going to finish it even if it was almost the death of me! I just hate when the blurb looks good, but the book is nothing but a disappointment :/ I'm sure many would like it, however, this book was NOT for me. Will I ever give it another chance?

Rate: 2.5 stars.

Ugh. Okay. So the whole book without one little section is 3 stars.

Didn't like that part at all. But the rest of the book? Every time you got around her not having a spine, the book was good. Every time she was a withering, as my friend, G would say, TSTL girl, then it was annoying.

I understand - we're all different when it comes to shape, size and color so why not inner strength as well? Not every woman is strong and that's understandable... but dammit, she was still annoying.

Misled is the story of Outlaw/Christopher Caldwell, 32 yr old President of the Death Dwellers MC, and Meggie, an 18 yr old abused virgin.

Misled is gritty, violent and action packed. The relationship between Christopher and Meggie is what you'd expect... Christopher is inexplicably drawn and repelled by Meggie's innocence while Meggie is drawn to Christopher's rough protectiveness.

The MC plotline in Misled certainly didn't reinvent the wheel but it was entertaining enough. A couple of dropped plot threads really annoyed me though. I can't stand when an author creates a mystery but actively avoids logical follow through to solve said mystery. Secondary character development was on the weaker side. The author really doesn't flesh out the other members of the MC so they seemed interchangeable to me.

Another reviewer said that Misled is unlike any other MC book they've read, but she couldn't exactly put her finger on why. While I believe she meant that in a positive manner, it rings true for me but with a bit more of a negative spin. Something was keeping me from connecting with these characters and I finally figured it out. There was no Brotherhood. This MC was more of a gang. We learned through backstory, that the Death Dwellers had almost imploded under the leadership of a crazy, drug addicted ex-President and was now crippled by internal power struggles and distrust. The "brotherhood" in Misled seemed almost non-existent. And that was reflected in the way they treated each other as well as Meggie when the club discovers her identity. That missing component proved to be a major block for me. I didn't feel the world which detracted from my overall enjoyment.

DiDi's review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Where to start where to start....I love MC romances, I love the grittiness, the drama, the intensity, the sexy alpha-douche. I have read pretty much all that is out there and anxiously wait for new books to pop up. Color me excited when I saw Misled pop up over the weekend and that it looked interesting. I have to say there are a few of the many MC romances popping up that are just meh, ok no they are just horrible, so I was a little nervous about buying Misled becauseI hate being excited then being let down.

I was not let down with Misled. I started it Saturday and couldn't put it down. Before I go into my review, I will admit there are some editing issues AND the way the guys "talk" bothered me a little, kinda like the brothers from BDB meets Kristen Ashley's HOT GUYS meets Duece from Undeniable meets wanna be gangstas...but it didn't bother me enough to put the book down.

Misled is not a sweet story with rainbows and ponies, but it is a love story that will steal your heart. There are some pretty dramatic and ugly scenes right in the first chapter. It's a story about a girl who is abused by her step father and witnesses the rape and abuse of her mother. A young girl who realizes if she doesn't run away she will die, so she runs in search of her father, a man she hold in high regard, President of the Death Dwellers MC. Unbeknownst to Megan her father is dead she ends up living on the streets alone and scared, but brave enough to not give up. Megan accidentally runs into trouble with some members of the Death Dwellers MC.

Her run in leads her to meet the new President, Outlaw. She is automatically drawn to him. Outlaw feels the attraction immediately as well, but he fights it because of her age, but more importantly because of the fact he killed her beloved father and he doesn't want to hurt her when she finds out. Out law is SEXY and a dirty boy ;-) He is an alpha-douche, a womanizer, but he is also a bad ass with an inner soft heart. He is caring and has his own horrible childhood that has shaped him into the man he becomes. Even at the times he pissed me off the most, I still loved him.

I'm not going to go into the plot, you need to experience it on your own. BUT I will tell you there is heartache, laughs, heartache, sexy times, tears and happiness.

Is this a perfectly flowing, flawless book? No, but in my opinion it's a damn good debut and an intriguing addicting story. I loved Meggie and Outlaw and truly hope to get to read more about the Death Dwellers MC.

I tried looking up a website for Kathryn Kelly but was unable to find one. Ms. Kelly if you read this, contact me at didi@guiltypleasuresbookreviews.com I would love to interview you or have you do a guest blog. I also want to find out more about your future plans.

As a fan of motorcycle romances, I didn't know what to expect with this one, given the warning attached to it. Let me start by saying: TAKE HEED OF THAT WARNING. When Ms. Kelly says excessive profanity, she means it. Misled isn't for the squeamish or the faint of heart.
Christopher "Outlaw" Caldwell is trying to rein in the Death Dwellers Motorcycle Club. He inherited the presidency upon the death of Joseph "Boss" "Big Joe" Foy. Loyalties are split because it was Outlaw himself who killed Boss, his idol and mentor. Outlaw knows no other life but that of the Death Dwellers and doesn't expect to ever find anyone he wants as his own.
Megan Foy escapes her mother's house after a particularly violent episode with her stepfather. She fears Thomas is going to kill her and her mother. Meggie runs away, believing her father wants her with him and will get her mother out of the violent situation she finds herself in. Once she arrives in Hortensia, Washington, she isn't allowed on the MC's property and no one will tell her where her father is, leaving her to live the next month by a creek. Her path collides with Outlaw's when she steals five dollars from another Death Dweller member and she is brought to the club.
Meggie is the angel to Outlaw's devil. She's young but has endured a lot. It has given her the strength she needs to survive her stepfather's brutality, life on the streets, and Outlaw himself. This girl never listens to one freaking thing Outlaw orders her to do, unless it suits her, which usually it doesn't. The man is a big, sexy biker who is used to having his every word obeyed. Misled is violent. Ms. Kelly lets us know this is an MC in chaos within the ranks and at war outside. The body count is high with one particularly heartbreaking. The profanity Outlaw uses is excessive, but it fits his character. Once he falls under Megan's spell, there's no going back and he turns into this super sexy Me-Caveman-This-My-Woman. He lets everyone, male and female, know that if Meggie tells them to jump, they ask how high and get right to jumping. Yet, he knows exactly who he is, and wrestles with his conscience. I had to admire Meggie's strength during this time. I surely wouldn't have been as strong and would've given in to every urge I had.
Misled gripped me from the opening pages. I found Chapter 1 hardest to read. Misled is emotional, sexy, violent, and, surprisingly, humorous in a couple spots. Other spots are completely heartbreaking. This is a must read for all readers of MC romances.

This was a pretty good read. This was book 1 in the "Death Dwellers" series. Megan Foy needs help she runs away from home after years of abuse at the hands of her step-father she has been beaten and sexually abused and so has her mother who doesn't have a back bone. When she leaves she runs to the club where her father Big Joe is the president only to get their she finds out that he is dead and that Christopher “Outlaw” Caldwell is the new president and he wants her. Outlaw is a hot sexy biker who treated her like crap and she took it I really didn't like him for it. When her step-father comes after her Outlaw gives him a beat down but the man doesn't know when to quit. This was a pretty good read with lots of action and violence in it. This was my first time reading this author this book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I really liked this book, very close to MC's real kinda stories. Sometimes I thought that Megan was bit naive, but she is also very young so it's granted and Outlaw was complete jerkface but I really liked it, well I love everything with biker in it :)

People who enjoy MC books go and buy this one !!!

G&J: 3 Stars

Gitte:
So, we LOVE our MC books don’t we Jenny. Alpha male characters who talk filth and are rough and ready, the dirty – ugly and sexy. Yeah, all of the above were present in Misled. The story-line had passion, violence and abuse. Also, everyone needed their mouth cleaned out with soap. It certainly wasn’t an easy read at times. However, they make for the better MC books in my opinion. Seems more realistic somehow?!

“You are who you are,…” “The choices you made might not be the perfect ones, but they were the ones you needed for the place you were at in your life.”

Misled was a pretty intense ride, some I enjoyed and some I really didn’t. I think this is a bit of a marmite book perhaps? However, despite the fact that I had a few issues, I still couldn’t put it down. It was very addictive reading!

I thought it started really great, what with our heroine making a run for it after a tragic home life, trying to find her long lost Dad who’s the President of a MC. A whole new world opens up to her and intrigue and passion quite frankly erupted (pun intended) and sizzled for want of a better word. I kind of wished more attention had been paid to fleshing out the characters though, so a bond could have been formed with us, the readers!

What did you think Jenny?

Jenny: Hmmm….I’m not sure what I thought about this one to be honest G. I know I couldn’t put it down and was eager to find out exactly where this author was taking us with Misled because we certainly do love our bikers books G. There’s something about the rough, raw biker, set amidst the brotherhood of the MC that really has us connecting with the story and its characters…and most of the time we’re swept away with it all. There really is something enticing about a tough guy biker who finds that woman who steals his heart. We’re definitely suckers for them.

‘Everything now depended on a God Outlaw had stopped believing in years ago.’ – Outlaw

You’re spot on G. Misled definitely falls under the Marmite category and readers will either love it or not. Sadly, I have to say I fall in the latter category. Whilst I like some parts of Misled, unfortunately for some reason this one just didn’t hit the mark for me. I didn’t completely connect with the characters, the sex scenes didn’t always hit the mark and the brotherhood of the Motorcycle Club was non-existent which I really missed in this story.

“Do you gotta touch me all the fuckin’ time?” – Outlaw

Part of what I love about these biker stories is the camaraderie between the brotherhood but in Misled the infighting, disloyalty and mistrust all detracted from “family unit” that is the MC Club.

Gitte: Misled is about the Death Dwellers MC of which Christopher ‘Outlaw’ Caldwell is the president. His story was quite emotional and disturbing, with violence, drugs and abuse. I thought he was a good character. He wasn’t a nice and sweet guy, rather he was a complete filthy arse and I guess you wouldn’t expect anything less. I have to say I was wholeheartedly drawn to him, though he did piss me off immensely at times, only then suddenly, for his compassion and hidden vulnerability to show, making it all better for a while.

‘Christopher felt as if the sun had walked out of his life and sank into oblivion.’

I think if I’m honest he is one of the main reasons I was hooked and kept reading as I had quite a few issues with the MC as a whole and our heroine Meggie.

Talking about Meggie, I know she was only meant to be eighteen but….I don’t know, for someone who’s had such a shitty life too, I just didn’t find her character that likeable. I’ll hand her character over to you Jenny….

Jenny: Thanks G. Where do I start with Meggie? I didn’t connect to Meggie at all. In fact, I found the whole scenario with her and Outlaw strange. Outlaws (Christopher’s) personality took a complete shift change that just didn’t fit with the story or his character and whilst I am a sucker for the innocent girl falling for the big tough biker, these two just didn’t gel with me. Then again, we didn’t get a whole lot of backstory to really connect with these characters. I did like Outlaw and I actually enjoyed the premise that this guy was a ruthless, no holds barred biker who lived by biker rules. He lived hard and rode hard and made no excuses which is why I found the relationship with Outlaw and 18 year old virgin Meggie so strange and unbelievable. She could throw a tantrum better than a 2 year old in a sweet shop and her whole demeanour was off. Her emotions were all over the show and whilst I sympathised with her home life and her reasons for running away, I found her to be an un-relatable character overall.

‘She was good, an angel in the midst of hell.’ – Outlaw

That this woman could come in and dictate the way she did to not only Outlaw but the rest of the MC just didn’t gel with me. There was also one aspect in particular in the demands on her by Outlaw that threw me off – just what was that all about?

G&J: Whilst we weren’t completely enthralled with this story, we did enjoy the rawness of it. This book made no apologies and was more of a gripping tale because of it.

‘Conceived in violence, live in violence, and I’m sure I’ll fucking die in violence.” – Outlaw

Once we started we couldn’t put Misled down. We were drawn to it like moths to a flame and HAD to see how it concluded. Whilst it didn’t wow us overall there were certainly parts of Misled which made it a potent, gritty and raw read. Unfortunately it lacked the character development and MC ties, bonds and interactions that we have come to love in our biker books.

“My conscience left me a long time ago. Sorta like my soul. If I ever had either.” – Outlaw

We have to mention as per fairness that the story did also have quite a few editing issues which affected our rating.

“ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review”

The book held my interest but the dialogue was difficult to get into…. It’s the same problem I have when Authors try too hard with a southern accent. For me —just write the words, tell me where the character is from and let my imagination do the rest. You don’t have to show me…. I guess that’s the problem I had with this book. The way the MMC’s dialog was written kept my imagination from making the book come alive.
