My daughter and I literally read this one to pieces, taped it back together, and read it to pieces again. I like the positivity it exudes. Look on the bright side, Piglet! Also, the rhyme scheme is all over the place and just gives up on trying to rhyme altogether in the middle, and that amuses me more than it should.

(My Pooh Project: I love Winnie the Pooh, and so does my wife. Having a daughter gave us a chance to indoctrinate her into the cult by buying and reading her every Pooh book we came across. How many is that? I’m going to count them this year by reading and reviewing one every day and seeing which month I finally run out. Track my progress here:

Piglet Feels Small by Jennifer Liberts Weinberg is a nicely illustrated Early Reader book with a great message. This story is about how, although Piglet is small, there are many great things he can do. This book would be great for really early learners, like preschool age. (EDUC 412, assign. #1)

I loved that this book had a note to the parents at the beginning. It helped remind me to have them involved in the story during story time. We went through the book a little slower and I asked questions about what they thought was going on with Piglet, and then we read to see if they were right. My kids are both at the very beginning stages of reading, they don't feel confident enough yet to read a whole sentence but they will try a few words and try to guess from the content. This book was great we enjoyed it. This was a confidence building book.

A cute little book about how small doesn't have to be bad. If you are dealing with a child who is struggling with not being able to do things, this might be a good choice.
