A wonderful collection of ten folktales specially chosen from around the globe. Stories are The Baobab Tree, Baba Yaga the Flying Witch, The Stonecutter, Dick Whittington, The Three Wishes, The Fish that Talked, King Midas and the Golden Touch, Brer Rabbit Down the Well, The Magic Pear Tree and Genie in the Bottle. Each story is brilliantly illustrated by artists from the Usborne Young Reading Programme.
Lesley dreamed of being a writer, but studied law as her mother insisted she had "something to fall back on". Since joining Usborne Publishing, she has written and edited hundreds of books, from funny rhyming stories to an award-winning history book. Nowadays, she is often found recording books, too, in Usborne's very own recording studio.
Excellent book... Beautiful stories... One anomoly though...the talking fish in the Indian story is supposed to be Vishnu and not Brahma. Breathtakingly lovely illustrations... Each story carrying the native elements of the story's locations.
Wuhuuuuu~~~!!!
Melegakan... :D
