Lost & Found: The Complete Series is now available as one book!
We’ll find each other somehow. We’re not lost anymore…
Maria's life was torn apart when she was fifteen, and for seven years, she's kept her terrible secret hidden from the world. Now, in her final semester of college, she still struggles against paralyzing fear just trying to speak up in class, and the terror and helplessness linger on in her nightmares.
Across campus, Owen sees his scars in the mirror every morning while he gets ready for class. They remind him of the broken home he left behind, the father he hates and fears, and the little sister he couldn't protect. Now, in his final semester of college, he's scared that he may have to return to the hell he called home after staying away for almost five years.
Fate has plans for Maria and Owen. Big plans.
When they finally meet, the two find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other. As they learn each other's secrets and grow closer, they realize that although they may be lost, they're not alone anymore. The past can’t hurt them as long as they’re together.
…or can it? They’re about to find out.
Will the love and happiness Maria and Owen found be enough to hold them together as their lives fall apart around them, or will their relationship slip away and be lost forever?

I tried to like this one. I wanted to like this one. I loved the premise, but no matter how many times I picked this one up, I could not get into it.
I wanted to connect to the characters, but I didn't. I think it was the writing style. It was too wordy for me. Too much information where it was not needed.
Everything was over-dramatized. They just met each other and everything was about how they could not stop thinking about the other even though they barely said two words to each other.
Owen's tone is very similar to Maria's POV. I had to go back and see which POV I was reading. I would have stuck to one POV. I am assuming it is difficult to write a male POV, so to be safe stick with one. As I mentioned before, the switch happened too quickly. Took away from the story. You know what each character is thinking. Leaves the tension of the story out. Some scenes were repeated. Too much. I loved the premise, but poor execution. Too wordy. I loved the premise. I love stories with broken characters, but this did not work for me.
My opinion. You may love this one. Reading is subjective.
This book is depicted so realistically and with brutal honesty. It was a very difficult read due to the subject matter. Thank god there was an HEA at the end.
I really liked both of these books or Parts. Part 2 picked up right where part 1 left off. I really liked the characters. Their stories were hard to read because of the very delicate topics. The raw emotions & feelings broke my heart. I really liked how the characters thoughts were in italics, that was nice to have. I do wish that Part 2 had more of something. It seemed to repeat some conversations or thoughts from Part 1. I wanted Owen to have more support from home, a neighbor, a classmate, something. I wanted the story to get deeper for Maria, I don’t know how but she needed something else going on as well. It also seemed like the couple had the same conversations every day. There were several typos in both parts but I can get over those. The story was good, raw & emotional. Overall I really liked the books, the storylines & all the characters, well except for a few. If you can’t handle sensitive subjects then these books are not for you.
This story really brought up some emotional issues of rape and abuse. Maria and Owen are two very strong characters and how they overcome their situations with each other is amazing. This story really tears at your heart and I wondered how the characters were going to overcome their situations. I could not put this book down. The author writes with raw emotion that I could feel how the characters were feeling.
I feel that the only way the book deserves five stars is if it is shelved as young adult, as good as the book is it is not what I would consider adult romance.
You people should just read this book yourselves and write your own review on this novel yourself and I really enjoyed reading this book very much so. Shelley MA
Full disclosure, I skimmed read this book due to the subject matter. I've had both books on my wishlist so when both were available together for free on Amazon, I couldn't help myself, I 1-clicked.
I read for fun and escape so usually avoid books with this kind of heavy story line, hence the skimming. I did read the last 25% of the second book and have to say it was amazing.
There are some really good reviews up on Amazon that help me understand why people like this book so much :)
The alternating POV is interesting (I love it when it's done right), and not always easy to pull off, but I think Nadia Simonenko did. She also was really creative with the flow of the story, using dates & times.
I'd like to see a story featuring Micah, the heroine's brother and catch up with Maria and Owen to see how their future life turns out.
Wow, this series completely blew me away. I was so invested in what was going to happen to Maria and Owen that I could hardly put my Kindle down while reading these books. The story has stuck with me and will continue to do so long after reading the final words of it.
I commend the author on an extremely well-written series. The dialogue and descriptions flowed perfectly. She brought the characters' fears and emotions to life on the page so that I felt every bit of their pain and heartache as they tried to move on from the darkness of their pasts. The dual point of view was exactly what I needed to understand and experience the characters' plights.
This is the perfect story of two broken people coming together to overcome their fears and their pasts to help put themselves back together. It's an emotional and heart-wrenching read with some humorous moments mixed in as well, and I absolutely loved every word of it.
Free download. Well this was recommended by a goodreads friend. I have to say its not usually a book I would read but I absolutely loved it. Maria and Owens stories as so heartbreaking, they have both been through terrible experiences which nobody should have to deal with, however this has also brought them together revealing a love which seems fated. Individually you get all the background to each character along with the supporting characters so you know exactly what's happened to everyone and why they are so damaged. This story is amazingly written with a very empathetic mind which takes you right into the heart of both characters turmoil. You can understand their heartache regardless of your own experiences. Overall a tidal wave of emotions throughout the books which makes for an amazing story that I highly recommend.
So this book did not do it for me at all. The only reason I'm not rating it a 1 star is because of Owen's story. I could truly believe his suffering. He dealt with physical abuse his entire life and had absolutely no-one to turn too..Noone. Then the people that did know didn't do anything to help him.
As for the female lead..I can't even remember her name, sorry I couldn't connect with her situation. She had an antire family to tell and she wouldn't. The brother she was so incredibly close with she didn't say anything too, all because her mother made a comment one day. Honestly her nightmares and freak outs seemed to be self imposed. For victims of assault there are so many avenues to pursue for help and she didn't use one of them until almost the very end of the book. Sorry I just couldn't connect with her at all.
The premise to this story was wonderful...two young people, physically and emotionally scarred, find each other and in the finding discover they are stronger than they know as they confront their demons and heal their hurts. It could have been great. The author did a wonderful job conveying the events that damaged Marie and Owen. Their pain was real...agonizingly so at times. But, given the gravity of the events in their lives and the magnitude of their suffering, the suddenness of their feelings for one another and, worse, the insta-trust displayed was not believable. I usually love this type of story. I liked it but did not love it. Maybe I will try to read it again at some point and see if I perceive it differently the next time.
The story was good, it addresses some pretty heavy issues for both Owen and Maria. The author took two very under reported problems and brought their issues together. There were times when I had to stop reading because of the weight of Owen's feelings of guilt and Maria's anxiety. The greatest thing about this story is that Maria and Owen come to the realization that they cannot get over there pasts on their own, many people don't seek help and the outcomes are so much different..
I was engrossed by these 2 stories. Maria is the victim of a teenage rape; Owen is a victim of parental abuse. They meet during Maria's senior year at college and recognize the vulnerability of each other. Together they climb from hell to heaven with each others' help.
This is a love story, but a dark one, not the usual. It's an excellent read.
Amazing. I loved it. I couldn't believe how real her characters were. So many abused and broken people fail to get the help they need or find some one that identifies with them so closely. Vicious cycles can be broken and there is a light at the end to the tunnel. Maria's and Owens story is horrifying yet amazing. Well done.
if your ready for your body & mind to go through a roller coaster of emotions this is a must read....one minute I was crying next I was laughing. ..fantastic read just love Maria & Owen great characters x
This book will drag tears out of you! It is so true to life and gut wrenching. I still can't get over parents who abuse their children. What a testament this book is to the effects that can have on older children. So much pain in this book. Loved the journey.
New Adult romance about two wounded people finding each other and beginning to heal. It wasn't the best book I've ever read, but it held my interest and very few books are doing that these days. I would read more by this author. The book includes a trigger warning for rape and abuse.
It was free on Amazon. It was an ok story about two people with dark pasts that open up and find each other/overcome their demons. The writing was not the most polished, and I HATE when I can find spelling errors/left out words in a book.
Touches on difficult subjects, but brilliantly dealt with! Read both books in a week as I was desperate to know how the story ended. May not be enjoyed by all due to the subjects of rape and abuse, but all in all a very well written story.
Loved the two stories. The book is very emotional. Owen and Maria has a pass and very hard to overcome. They faces fear and was afraid. Trying to live beyond that until they meet each other and realize they weren't alone. They realize they can help each other.
This book grabbed me from the beginning and never let go. Maria and Owen were so broken apart, what or who would it take to make them whole again? The characters were deep and easy to connect with. Such a great story of finding the other half that will fix you!
What a beautiful story of love, hope, and resilience! Following both central characters to recovery is truly an exercise in the ability to survive the seemingly impossible.
This is the story of 2 damaged souls who blossom from their tragedies together. It's definitively an easier read than some of the other books out there involving rape and physical abuse. Really enjoyed it
Whilst I enjoyed the emotional aspects of the story and the journey that Owen and Maria went on to face their pasts and start living, there were aspects to this story that didn't sit right with me. However, it was well written and dealt with sensitively.
A well written beautiful love story about two broken souls finding each other, the subject matter was dark and hard to read at times, (tissues were needed!) but it was worth it to really understand both Owens and Maria's pain. Definitely would recommend it.
