Fathom Vol 3 #o is purely a summary of the entire series so far. This isn’t a comic issue at all, it’s a recap.
I really wanted to like this. The artwork was really pretty; it seemed dark, it seemed pretty gritty… but it was just a total flop, to be honest. This didn’t make me want to read on, or read back, it didn’t make me want to learn about the characters; it just made me want to flick as quickly as I could through the pages and get this read over with.
Fathom seems to have some really interesting characters, and they come across really amazing… but this really isn’t for me, and I wouldn’t recommend it. If you’re gonna read this, I suggest just starting straight off with Vol 1 and starting from the beginning. Don’t be fooled by this free comic issue. Definitely was not worth the five minutes it took to read this.
Let's face it, Fathom has some wonderful eye candy. That is why it always catches my eye. But all I really know about the series is that it involves a race (races?) of underwater dwellers. I also think that that at least one character is some mix of underwater and land dweller. Unlike a lot of eye candy comics, there seems to be a lot of script so there must be some story there. But for me, it boils down to scantily clad comic book hotties.( Sorry but I at least admit to being a pig at times.)
So I can definitely say this works for me. While I can not be sure, it also looks like it should appeal to fans. But I am guessing this story(preview) can be found elsewhere as well and it would probably be better to go with the longer version.
