Phenomenal book. Changed my understanding of ‘Australian’ music(ians) and the industry and what people make and why. I learned so much about the nuanced experiences of Aboriginal people in the public eye and country music and it has changed my life I think. Will be buying my own copy and the accompanying CD. I want to write a PhD about this. (Some language a bit dated but always respectful and with the best intent by the author) (thank you Bano and Kimba for putting me on to this !)

There are some very good insights and photographs of not well known aboriginal singers and musicians I had never heard of. Jimmy Little featured. These are unsung heroes and well worth reading about. The quality of the book is very high.
