Dark Love

Rate this book
One goal consumes Chazma Donnelly: find the dark sorcerer who murdered her parents.

When the trail leads her to Ireland, she takes a job cataloging a private library. But she doesn’t expect to find a manor house that eerily echoes one in her dreams, or an employer whose touch awakens a savage darkness in her.

The attraction between Chaz and Jethro McBain is volatile, but darkness surrounds his aura. Chaz doesn’t trust him, even though it is his voice she hears in her sleep, and his touch that sizzles the blood in her veins.

As Chazma’s investigation widens, a series of local murders shows the killer knows of her obsession.

Will Chaz’s need for revenge take her from the edge of evil into a black pit where she can no longer find herself? Or can she find love in the midst of darkness?

Ever wonder about what happens to the children born when one of the Fae decides to “have a little fun” with humans? Ever wondered what might happen to all of that inherited Faery magic if left untrained, boiling just under the surface, inside far too fragile human flesh?

Power so often corrupts and Conn’s latest heroine can feel the darkness inside her seeking release. Chazma Donnelly plays a dangerous game. The Fae power inside her is a growing darkness that she has no idea how to dispel. The wildness these powers stir in her blood nearly has her throwing herself at her new boss. It is embarrassing. NOW is just not the time for them to be running away on her.
Her parents have been brutally murdered by what seems to be a serial killer and she is consumed with the need to avenge them. There is a mystery to be solved if she is going to find their killer. Dealing with stirrings of power and lust are the last things she wants to be focused on. That is why she took this job in Ireland. The trail to the killer leads here, and to revenge. There is no room for anything else.

Oooo how Claudy Conn loves to place difficulties in the paths of her heroines and Darklove is no exception to this rule. Another thing that is also true of a Conn romance is - the man flesh, “gotta be tall, gotta be hot, and hubba-hubba handsome!” Lord Jethro McBain is all of that and more, a lot more. He is a man like no other she has ever encountered, but he is off limits and she is on a mission.

Chazma should trust him. Her grandmother totally set her up with the job organizing his library. Maybe that is part of the problem. This feels like a set-up, a distraction to keep her from focusing on catching the murderer. Not the distraction her Grandmother had hoped for, but a distraction no less. Let’s not fail to mention that Lord Jethro positively hums with power, not all of which feels like the light or Faery kind either. So, why is she drawn to him? Well, it could be the tall, hot and handsome thing, or it could be the wild woman within thing; all that magic turned dark roiling around in her pants seeking release . . . Take your pick, the forbidden or the forbidden, whichever fruit you prefer.

Another outstanding success for Claudy Conn! Darklove is steeped in passion.

Dark Love
What’s not to Love about Dark Love!!! Absolutely nothing!! This gem is pack full romance, tension, and suspense that will keep you biting your nails and on the edge of your seat. Chazma and Jethro have so much chemistry that it practically made my poor little e-reader sizzle!! Ugh, I can’t describe how much I enjoyed this book. I couldn’t put it down and I had classes, but I still managed to finish it in two days!! Such a phenomenal read that it is simply a must buy. The romance is nice and slow and not rushed like in some novel that jump right into it with no plot setup at all. Chaz and Jethro are two very easily loveable characters that you can’t help but love from beginning to end. The only qualm I had was that the ending felt a little rushed or maybe I just didn’t want it to end so quickly! Just pick it up and dive right in!!!

Ireland back drop, castles, romance and hot sex hmm what more can I say? haha I loved this book right from the beginning. I was pulled in with Claudy's vivid details. Claudy describes the magic so well you can imagine it in your mind with no problem.

I am a sucker for paranormal regency romance books. They are pretty much my favorite. I swear I was born in the time :)

There was something very enchanting and magical to this book. The love story was so sweet but there was also darkness to it as well "Darklove" describes it perfectly.

Chaz is a blonde, green eyed beauty who is coming into her own as a witch. Her parents were brutally murdered and she will not rest until she finds out who is responsible and makes them pay for it. That is until she meets Jethro.. He is handsome, dark and dangerous. He makes her feel things she has never felt before. Can she trust him? She knows he is hiding something from her.
Can they work together? Well read this book and find out!!!

The chemistry between Chaz and Jethro was sizzling hot.. Their encounter in the study was erotic and oh so sexy!!

This is a must read for all paranormal, regency and magic lovers :)

Darklove by Claudy Conn
Chazma Donnelly is out for vengeance. Some monster, literally, has killed her parents and she will not let it live. So off to Brionn, Ireland to hunt for Dark X, as she has named this beast. The tales of mystery from the magical Ireland are no stranger to Chaz as she’s not quite human herself. She expected her new employer, the lord of the Brionn, to be older. If only! As she focuses on her revenge she constantly fights her hormones for the not so old and definitely hot, Lord Jethro McBain.

Jethro is doing some fighting of his own when the young beauty comes to work for him. His grandmother had an intuition that Chazma needed to be the one he hired and she also wanted his promise to leave the lass alone. That promise may be harder than he thought.

This was another exciting paranormal by Claudy Conn where you enter a world of both darkness and light, magical and mystical and even a touch of Fae. Never quite sure if someone is the good or bad guy.

Chazma Donnelly will do anything to catch the person who killed her parents. Even if that means putting herself right in the middle if it all.

She takes a takes a job cataloging a private library in Ireland while searching for the person who murdered her parents. But when she arrives and finds Jethro McBain is not the old man she thought he was, but a Dark sexy man who pulls at the darkness that is in inside her.

Chaz soon finds herself in serious trouble, Her need for revenge for her parents death has taken her to a very dark place, a place she may never be able to come back from. But when all seems lost can Chaz find a love strong enough to save her?

Claudy Conn has written a Sexy, Dark and Addicting paranormal romance that will leave you breathless. This story is fast paced and full of action, Chaz and Jethro do not disappoint! I love the Darker feel to this book and I can't wait to ready what Claudy Conn

Chazma Donnelly is heartbroken about her parents murders so her grandmother gets her a job as a librarian for Lord Jethro McBain at an Irish Manor in Ireland. Chazma's main reason for taking the job is to find her parents murderer whom she's sure is in Ireland. Even though she has an ulterior motive for taking the job, she does enjoy it. She finds she has a strong attraction to Jethro and knows he's not quite human and neither is she since she has Fae powers herself. She fights the attraction because she's there for revenge and that's her priority but is having a hard time with her powers roiling inside her. So the story continues and true Claudy style, you get pulled into the story right from the beginning. The characters are true Claudy characters-beautiful and spunky heroine and a handsome, hunk of a hero. Lots of passion and suspense.

Nothing but Love for Dark Love by the fabulous Claudy Conn. This books slides right in to advance her current Far series. Filled with Fae, Witches, Warlocks and Daemons this books leaves the reader wanting more!

The story has a lush background and the characters are filled with charm and grace. This story is a fast paced and action packed adventure for Chazma and Jethro. Conn keeps the readers on the edge of their seat with just the right amount of suspense (spooky and romantic). This book has a darker feel than some of the other Claudy Conn books out there, yet she still manages to sneak in a happily ever after for the main crew.

Can't wait to see what Claudy Conn give us next!

Dark Love was exciting and some what mysterious, with memorable characters especially Chazma a powerful white witch. Chaz is determined to find her parents murderer despite her employer trying to keep her safe, and out of the way of the elusive killer. Besides the suspence there is also romance in store for Chaz during her summer in Ireland at the home of Jethro McBain, a gorgeous man that she can't quiet figure out, but she can't stop the attraction she has to him. This book holds your attention and keeps you guessing to the very end!

This book had me from the very beginning and I found it impossible to put down. Claudy has a way of pulling you into every story that she writes, and this one was no different. I loved the chemistry between Chaz and Jethro and the way they interacted with one another was very entertaining and hot!!! I definitely recommend this book and would've given it more stars if it was an option. :)

This book was amazing! It has everything that readers look for in books. Romance, adventure, action, mystery as well as a bit of drama. Claudy knows how to keep her readers interested in the book without missing a beat. I couldn’t put the book down.

Chazma Donnelly lost her parents in a horrible killing and was left with a sense of retaliation against the person that killed her parents, who she refers to as Dark X. Her remaining living relative wants her to go to Ireland for the summer with a job working on organizing a library for a Lord Jethro McBain. When she reaches the Manor she’s not prepared for how young the Lord of the manor neither is she prepared for how handsome he is. They start by laying the ground rules, the do’s and don’ts of the manor, where she can go where she can’t, the basics. She finds herself with the weekend off and gets invited to explore the town with Jethro. While the pair is out she meets a few of the natives and dances with Tom Murphy, the local inspector. Chazma wants to seek out Dark X and end him just like he ended her parents but Dark X wants to “play” with her first and she just isn’t having that. In her effort not to give into the attraction between herself and Jethro she goes on a few dates the young Dr. James Dunboyne, but Dr. Dunboyne has his own secret that he doesn’t want getting out.

Jethro McBain is a Druid priest with a long family history of magic. When grandmother asks him to allow a dear old friend of hers granddaughter to work for him over the summer he is very much against it but wants to make grandmother happy, he is worried about the gossipers will talk seeing as how he is a single bachelor with a single female in his house. However when he meets Chazma he can’t help but be attracted to her even if he knows that there is darkness in her. He tries to keep his distance but that only works so far, when the two of them finally do come together it is epic to say the very least. He finds himself coming to her rescue when she finds herself without a knight in shining armor after a late night meal with Dr. James Dunboyne. He seems to know just where to be and when to be there when it comes to Chazma.

The attraction of these two is something that will keep you wanting more and more. The story is believable, honest, and action packed with characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. I can’t wait to read more from Mrs. Claudy Conn.

Andrea received a review copy from the publisher in exchange for her honest review. Her review was first posted at Romancing the Book.

I am a huge fan of paranormal romance. Right now it is the genre I read the most and I am a sucker for a steamy, get-your-heart-racing, feel the blush on my cheeks romance.

Our heroine is Chazma, who under the guise of a new job, travels to Ireland to track down the killer of her parents. She immediately meets the man of the house, and her new boss, Lord Jethro McBain, who is tall, dark and oh-so-handsome! He immediately gets her blood boiling and so starts this romance.

Chazma and Lord Jethro are H-O-T! They follow the normal romance equation of promises to stay away from each other but constantly being pulled together but an unseen force. Their moments are highly emotional, to say the least. They have misunderstandings, tell white lies and give each other a lot of longing looks from underneath eyelashes. Jethro is an ultimate alpha male – taking what he wants and making no excuses. He’s the very rich Lord of the house, is not questioned by anyone (well…almost anyone) as to what he does or how he does it.

Unfortunately, the book was a big confusing. Chazma is introduced and quickly on her journey but there wasn’t much background as to who she really is. I felt like I was always trying to catch up. We eventually find out who the “big bad” is but I feel like it was so hurried at the end that we didn’t really get to know what his motivation was. Also, the book was set in Ireland, one of the most gorgeous countries on this planet, and I didn’t feel connected to the environment at all.

Even with those few things, the book was enjoyable. The romance was excellent and the scenes between Chaz and Jethro were sizzling.

REVIEW
Finally I was able to read this book… And Oh boy am I glad I finally got to it..!!!
Chaz aka Chazma Donnelly has powers which to her are not normal. She has very vivid dark dreams . Her parents were supposedly killed by a serial killer in New York and it has consumed her to seek revenge for their deaths. Chaz gets offered a job to organize a library at a mansion in Ireland. It is Jethro McBain the owner that has offered the job and it is with Chaz’s grandmother that she accepts the position. Jethro McBain lives in Brionn Ireland and for Chaz this is perfect as she has figured out or at least she thinks this is where to begin her search for her parents death.
Will Chazma be able to control the darkness that is building inside her and threatening her powers to over flow. What about the Oh So Sexy Jethro McBain? They both have figured out each others powers . Now they must fight a very dark warlock. Can they come out of this unharmed? Can they keep fighting their attraction to each other or will it end up as more?
Grab your copy of the book and get reading !!
Tons of suspense and Oh so hot and heavy chemistry !!!
Another great book !!!

For me the main problem with this book was that I felt like it was simply copied from Karen Moning's Fever Series.
A blond girl from Souther USA goes to Dublin to investigate her parents murder, she meets a handsome, rich, dark man who just happens to be a druid and even a Garda is invovled.
Almost immediately when I read the name Jethro I was about ready to quit this book. Seriously? Jerricho Barrons turned to Jethro MacBain. And while on the subject of names; Chazma was a name a little too strange for my liking. Everytime I read it I cringed.
Maybe if I hadn't read the Fever Series, which is one of my favorites ever, I would have liked this book. But the way it is I was only annoyed at the obvious copycat and couldn't warm up to the story.

im gonna begin with, this book was just ok.
Now, this book is a rip off from my favorite series of all time the Fever Series by Karen Moning. The main girl (Chaz) is from north carolina, travels to dublin because her parents were murdered and she wants to find the killer. meets the main guy Jethro who is hiring her to work in his huge library. she meets several other hot irish guys, one in the garda and one who is helping the bad guy. oh and Jethro is a druid. the similarities don't end there, but you get my point.

so I give this 2.5 stars for itself, but officially 1 star because of the copycat effect.

Well this book by Claudy Conn, as usual, doesn't disappoint. This was an amazing paranormal romance with witches, Fae, and a hunky Druid Priest. Intrigue, mystery, and murder were the main part of the plot; furthermore, the dabble of romance between Jet and Chaz was just an added bonus.

Whoever writes the Bookbub descriptions for Claudy Conn novels does a great job. They always hook me on the daily emails, then I realize I haven't even read the ones I already own. I have a habit of downloading a lot of free and $.99 books - too many to read. So, now, to correct that first shortcoming (the other is probably a hopeless addiction, but at least it's cheap).

Here's what I thought of my latest Conn download: A lot of words for so little story - kind of repetitive. Some of the language choices are odd, almost to the point of misuse. Tedious in the beginning; not much happens for a while. The sex also takes a looong time to actually happen and is not all that steamy. The plot is OK, but would be better if more concisely written. The characters are also OK; nothing to write home about.

I do like that the novel is set in Ireland (love the brogue!), the male MC, and that it involves magic and Fae. However, the description and use of those elements feels glossed over, as if the writer is just following the current trend of turning traditional romance into paranormal romance. All in all, not a terrible book, but I'm glad it was free.

1.7 Stars. I needed a little more context in the beginning of the story to really get into it or even by the first third of the book. It's nice you like to be mysterious and I know something bad is coming but a hint about what we should be afraid of and why the main characters have to hide what they are would be nice. And yes thank you I know you're horny thanks for sharing...over and over again. I skimmed to the end but everything seemed to have been explained... Reasons being power, Fae, and family. I can see why people really liked the book I'm just not one of them. I would give the author another try I might just not have been in the mood to read a book like this.

I'm not sure what I feel about this one.

It kinda reminded me of the Fever series, with Jethro Baron (Yumm!) because of how dark and mysterious this Jethro (shocker) was.

And come to think of it... that book was set in Ireland too... huh.

So like I said, very similar in some ways and not so much in others.

But an okay book for free.

I love Claudy Conn's stories. She can weave a fantastic tale that takes you and your breath away. Here we have Chazma & Jethro (our F/M leads) and their fights, against their attraction for each other and against the dark wizard. Ms. Conn once again crafts a fantastic tale around the Fae and Druids. Loved it.

Another great read. First book introducing Claudy's Fae series. Chazma's whom's Grandfather is a Royal Fae wants revenge for her parents murderer by an evil man bent on obtaining the elixir of immorality. You'll never guess who he turns out to be. Oh my.... She falls in love with a powerful Druid Priest and the adventures begin.
