Greylan Pace has been a mixed martial arts fighter most of his entire life, everything seemed to be looking up for him then one tragic mistake whilst out celebrating changed his life, he stepped in to save a red headed beauty Mollie, who he nic names "RED" set him on a path of worthless doubt from that night onwards he was never that same cocky fighter at the top of his game..
A brutal attack took everything that he fought and held dear in life away in just that one error of judgement..
And life as he knew it will be plagued by nightmares from this day forward..An eight by eight cell has been his home for near on five years..
Apon release he learns that his sister is engaged to none other than "Parker Harris" the up and coming MMA fighter..
So Greylan sets his life back on track again as an amateur fighter starting at the bottom of the rung again, to get back up to the top he needs to clear his head of all his demons and concentrate being the best of the best..
I must admit at the very beginning it was hard to get into this, until after the incident occurred is where I couldn't put it down, and now I have bags under my eyes due to reading it most of the night..Will definitely be holding out for the next book!!
Even though Greylan was a man of very few words you still got that connection, definitely a book worth reading..

Greylan Pace has spent of his life perfecting his craft in the MMA world. But as he reaches his peak, his world comes crashing down.
In the awakening on ONE.FATAL.MOMENT, he is arrested and loses EVERYTHING. Five years later, he is let out on parole while trying to piece everything back together.
That is, until fate steps him and he stumbles into the very reason for his incarceration: Mollie Andrews.
Will Greylan ever regain his claim to the top? What about Mollie, the red- headed vixen that he can’t seem to get out of his head? And will Greylan ever comes to terms with his demons?
My verdict?: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! This is my first read from Heather Allen (→ although I must admit to having her Just Breathe Trilogy just withering on my kindle *ducks head sheepishly*) and I LOVED IT!! It was so heartbreaking and captivating!!
I loved how much heart Greylan had even though he was dealt a terrible set of cards and the endless amounts of obstacles that he endures. He's just an all around incredible guy trying to make things right and live his life again while taking care of those important to him (his sister, Trinity, and now Mollie).
As for Mollie, eh, I don’t entirely get her but then again I don’t entirely get her and Greylan’s relationship to begin with. It’s kinda stunted a bit and seems more one sided with Greylan laying all the cards down at times.
I’m hoping for book two, HOLD ON, that there will be more progression in their relationship and that the big cliffy from this installment to be resolved! It kinda ripped my heart out to be honest!!
A DEFINITE BOOK SERIES I WILL BE IMPATIENTLY STALKING FOR MORE!! HEHE.
*ARC was graciously provided to me by the author for an honest review. Thank you!*
Greylan Pace has worked hard to get to the top as an MMA fighter.... but just when he is supposed to finally realize his dream and go pro, he accidentally killed a person while saving his close friend's girlfriend, Mollie, who incidentally he can't seem to stop thinking of since the first time he saw her....
5 Years later, he is out on parole.... he tries to get his life back, and worked hard to get back what he lost.
I love Greylan! Greylan is hot, compassionate, protective and just an amazing person! When he got out after doing his time in prison, he never blamed anyone, he was never angry or bitter, instead he started over.. though he is still dealing with his guilt and nightmares from what happened, which only makes him more endearing.
I get that Greylan would be attracted to Mollie but I don't get why he goes putty when it comes to her, they hardly even talk together, in fact I can count the times they saw each other. There is nothing that I like about Mollie except that she seems to be playing with Greylan! She didn't even see him when he was in jail from saving her!
And what's up with Meyer?!! Meyer is Greylan supposedly close friend who he also hasn't seen after the incident.
I say Greylan deserves better and that he needs to kick ass and fight not just in the ring!
The story, for me, moves in slow pace..... that is until Meyer came back with his girlfriend Mollie and brings back memories.... plus the fact that Greylan is still not over wanting Mollie, God knows why.
Then it got even more interesting when he finally went Vegas! And then secrets are revealed... and then bang, it's a cliffy!!!!
Though I kinda was expecting that at the pace it was going.
That said, can't wait to read what happens next! Written under Greylan's POV.

Greylan Pace is at the top of his game as a MMA fighter. He has everything going for him, until one night he makes a terrible mistake and everything crumbles. On a night that he wins a MMA title fight, he meets beautiful Redhead, Mollie (RED), and he has this controllable urge to protect her. Their meeting was the beginning of his downfall. On that fatal night, he is arrested and loses everything…his freedom, his title and family. Five years later, he is released on parole and determined to get his life back.
I enjoyed watching Greylan fight for his life. Although everything was stacked against him, he did not give up. He endured so much but it did not stop him. Who does not love a true Rocky story? (I was there signing the Rocky Theme song!) When you think MMA fighter you think mean, jerk and a womanizer BUT this was not the case. He’s an outstanding down to earth guy putting back the pieces to his life. He had three things in life he loved and that was the fight, his sister Trinity and Mollie.
Mollie Andrews is an enigma to me and I really am not a fan of hers. I did not get her relationship with Greylan at all. She was always with his childhood friend Meyer (so that was weird) but claims that she is not dating him. Right there my red flags were on alert. I am all who the hell is this chick and what the hell does she have that has Greylan all messed up? You see Greylan loves this woman and will do anything to make her happy to keep her at his side. When you read their relationship you will think to yourself, does Mollie really want him?
I did not connect with this character, until 85% into the book and everything comes out. You know what I got?! A cliffhanger, and not a little one…a BIG one. I was left skimming the next couple of pages seeing if I got more, and we do not.
Will Greylan get to the top? Will Mollie and Greylan survive what life throws at them? I will say if you like a good MMA book then this is the book for you. As far as a romantic feel, I am undecided because I felt it was love for Greylan and the jury is still out on Mollie. I will tell you that the author Heather Allen has me wanting to read book 2 to find out how things will turn out. Believe me, once you get to that part of the book, everything clicks and you will be LIKE WTF…I knew it! I found myself going back and looking for clues. Heather Allen wrote a great book, and the story line flowed. I really enjoyed it and at the end I was left with a roller coaster of emotions.

5 Flaming Fighter Stars!!!!
Greylan Pace, Ahhhhh such a great name, for a thoughtful, big hearted, strong, affectionate hot guy!!!!!
Such a shame, when he is trying to do a good deed, helping someone out, his whole life changes, in just a blink of an eye. But he did what he had to do, and stood strong, and the outcome was worth it, are so we think.
He's a good man, trying hard to fulfil his mom's last wish, taking care of Trinity, his sister, until he has to go away.
I really enjoyed this book, the great writing, the characters, as in RED, she really is a blessing for Grey, up until the very end. Which by the way about gave me a mini stroke. I was like WTHHHHHH, ughhhh, I wanted to punch something, lol.
Anyway, I cannot wait until Hold On gets into my hands!!!! I am just hoping Grey can get out the crazy shit his so called life long friend Meyer got him into. I had a feeling something was gonna be bad, but did not see all that coming. Great way to keep us hooked Heather.
Thank you for the ARC. And would love to get one for Hold On.
I loved having this book in Greylan's point of view I just wished some of the chapters were in Mollie's I would have loved to get her perspective on things. I loved how Greylan is always the good guy trying to do the right thing, even if it kills him, "Mollie, I want nothing more, but when you and I make love, it will be something I want you to remember and tonight," he looks down to their hands, "it's not the right time." He can be so bossy as well, "I'm not going to ask you this time. I'm telling you that I'm going to take the rest of your clothes off and then I'm going to explore every inch of your body." I though this book was a stand alone so imagine my shock when I get to the end and find out there's a cliffhanger, I mean this cliffhanger I could live with so I don't need to kill the author but it still surprised me.
3 I didn't understand anything until the end STARS
Story... Grey has just won a fight that is going to send him to Vegas to start fighting as a Pro, his life is just about to start and he has a whole team and a sister going along with him for the ride. But that night something goes horribly wrong and instead of going to Vegas and becoming the next big MMA Fighter he is sent to jail for 5 years.
5 years later and Grey is a free man. His sister Trinity is waiting for him as he gets out and wants him to stay with her, she also has a surprise for Grey... A fiance who is also a fighter. Grey isn't happy that she has a fiance at all but especially not happy the fiance is a fighter.
Grey needs to get his life back on track, he starts by seeing his old coach and manager but he starts to realise that everything has changed and when he went to jail it affected everyone not just Grey.
Grey gets a new job behind a bar and meets Christina. Grey and Christina hit it off and become very close friends. Grey starts fighting again with a new coach and he's making new friends, life seems to be going really well with Grey. But one night at the bar, one of Grey's oldest friends shows up and Grey isn't happy about it. Grey blames Meyer for part of the reason he went to jail and when Grey needed him most Meyer left him with only a letter saying how sorry he is. Grey isn't interested in hearing his excuses.
Grey starts winning his fights and soon enough he is off to Vegas to go Pro. Grey wins his fight and moves to Vegas to keep fighting. He gets a sponsorship, but Grey soon finds out that his sponsorship comes at a price and the consequences could be that he loses something that Grey loves very much.
Is this a love/romance story... I'm going to say a big fat NO!. There is a relationship but it starts about 90%. They meet right at the beginning, Mollie is part of the reason for Grey making a mistake. But they barely talk in the book at all. I would say they got 3 or 4 pages all together before they get together at 90% most of the book is about Grey's fighting and dealing with his guilt. I did not connect with Mollie at all, when she was in the book all she did was talk cryptic, every time!!!
What I liked... Grey was level headed, strong character who always put family first. Even after jail time Grey was a soft sensitive person who put other's first. I liked reading about the fights and his past.
Why only 3 stars... Does this review kind of confuse you? Not much info there or nothing that really follows a pattern of where the story was going? Yeah well that's how I feel about the book. Nothing added up the whole way through. There is a cliffhanger and that made some of the book make sense but honestly I was VERY close to DNF many times because nothing made sense!!! I mean if there were little crumbs of what was happening on the outside it would have made so much difference to the story but otherwise all the information I was given has nothing to do with what was really going on in the background and that's why the cliffy is so surprising because it comes out of nowhere. I couldn't even be shocked at the cliffhanger because who the cliffhanger involves was barely in the book so I got no connection to the character at all. But don't get me wrong it's a GOOD cliffy, very good and definitely teases you of what's to come in book 2.
Let Go never bored me it kept me interested but I spent most of the book confused and thinking it was going nowhere, had there been some hints as to what was going on in the background I would have understood characters better and possibly connected with them and it would have had me on the edge to find out what was going on.
Suspenseful and intriguing. No Regrets was definitely a book that kept me on my toes wondering A LOT of things, asking myself A LOT of questions.
“My dream just came true. Is it possible that I won and lost it all within the same night?”
The prologue started with Greylan Pace or Grey, as his friends and family called him, winning a fight that put him on the fast lane to success. With that win, he had gotten everything he’d worked so hard for, everything he’d dreamed of his entire life. On his way out that night, he happened to meet a woman….Red, as he nicknamed her. Upon seeing her, he felt a strong attraction towards her that was beyond anything he could explain. He couldn’t understand how she had taken permanent residency in his mind. Especially when she was his friend’s girl…… Or was she? That same night he seemed to have it all, he also seemed to have lost it. It was the night the incident occurred.
Five years later, chapter one begun. I found this to be very symbolic since Grey, too, was starting up again from the very beginning….all the way back to chapter one. Five years was a long time though, and things were definitely different now. For starters, his sister was living with the now MMA champion – a title that once belonged to Greylan himself.
Grey started things off by getting a job. He needed to get back on his feet and fast, so he started working at a bar. A bar where he met his new best friend, Christina. I absolutely LOVED her. She was a strong character, witty, down to earth, honest, and an all-round good person just like Greylan. I actually rooted for them to take things to the next level! I wanted them together…badly! Unfortunately, despite their friends with benefits relationship, they decided to take the benefits part out of the equation. Christina was still hung up on her ex-boyfriend and Grey had his mind still firmly wrapped around the idea of Red.
Red….Mollie Andrews.
She was an ever loving mystery throughout the book…that’s for sure. A lot of things didn’t make sense, I kept asking myself a lot of questions like: “Why did they do that?” or “Why did they say that?” or the most frequent one: “What the hell is going on!?” Now mind you, it all has a purpose, I assure you. This book was basically focused on Gey getting his life back on track, but everything around him is one big mystery…until the very end when it all comes to light. That plot twist definitely answered A LOT of my questions, but also left me heavily wondering how it will all go down in book two! Grey’s fight is far from over, to say the least!
No Regrets first draws you in with the cover and then with the main characters name, Greylan Pace-double swoon! Add to that he is a nice guy, almost too nice and you have quite the fighter story in your hands.
Greylan Pace is a lower lever cage fighter making his way to the pro circuit. He lives with his little sister Trinity, the only family he has left. His extended family includes a shifty best friend Meyer, trainer Carlo and manager Jimmy T. After winning the last fight to make him a pro, Grey heads out for the night to celebrate. After meeting a beautiful redhead, Mollie at a bar with Meyer, he can't stop thinking about her, which leads him into more trouble than he ever expected.
From pro to nothing in a blink of an eye. Now Greylan has to start back at the bottom and work his way up yet again. The nice guy in him has brought him nothing but trouble and sometimes you wonder what exactly is going on in that thick head of his. The entire scene around him has changed now, including his sister.
Trying to get back into the swing of things isn't easy and now having to take a tending position at a bar, Grey meets Christina and things actually start to look up. He isn't after anything serious and neither is she, just a friends with benefits thing works for them. Christina is the best thing to happen to Grey, so you know it isn't going to last. This guy can't catch a break to save his life.
As Grey works himself back into the fighting scene, more and more information starts to come out and you just don't know who you hate more, the shifty friend, that b-word Mollie or Parker, the sister's boyfriend. So many times I wished Grey would have grown a pair and finally did something for himself. That is probably be the most annoying thing about this story, Grey's door mat personality. He lets everybody walk all over him and does nothing about it.
The book is well written and I hope is the set up for a second one where everybody gets exactly what they have coming to them. Especially that creep Meyer.
~~I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review~~
This is the first book that I have read by Heather Allen. I can say that this isn't the last book that I will read by her. I really liked this book, I didn't love this book, but I liked this book alot. I enjoyed reading about Greylan's journey, going up through the levels to become a Pro MMA fighter. I felt his pain when he was trying to make a comeback. I also liked that he was very protective of his sister. This book, I didn't read it straight through the night, I could put it down then come back to it, but I had to pick it back up within a few hours because I just had to know what was going to happen. There were parts to this book that I figured out without reading, but that doesn't giveaway the many twists and turns that Heather put into this book.
I am giving this book 4 kisses or 4 stars because I loved this book, but I was also, at times bored. There weren't many bored times, but there were a few that were slow. Greylan has two love interests, the red head named Mollie, and Christina, the coworker from Juno's. I personally love him with Christina, she doesn't take any crap from anyone, and she can relate with Greylan somewhat. Mollie, comes and goes in his life, she is sporadic and has a hold on Greylan. Throughout this book Greylan is fighting with his demons, he has nightmares, and can't get somethings out of his head.
Can Greylan overcome his demons? Can he be happy with his decisions? Read this book and find out! Heather writes like she sits ring side at the MMA fights, she is descriptive, and you read it like you are watching the fight on the TV. Pick up this book, you will not be disappointed!
I actually rated this book 4.5 stars, but when leaving reviews on sites such as goodreads, Amazon, etc... I round to the next highest star. ***
Just when Greylan Pace was at the top of his game, the unthinkable happens. 5 years later he is working his way back up in the cage fighting industry. Only the past doesn't want to leave well enough alone...
I really was taken with this book. From the start you get hooked and it is not one to let you go so easily. And that was ok by me. I loved hearing about the world of fighting and wondering what was really going on in Greylan's head. And trust me…there is a lot going on up there. A lot of issues that he needs to work through.
I wasn't crazy about Mollie. Even from the start I just wasn't sure about her. She seemed to be hiding something that wasn't good and I didn't want Greylan having any part of it. Then as the story progressed it was like she was stringing him along. I just did not like this chick! And I hated how Grey succumbed to her charms with just a look. Don't fall for her Grey!! Don’t do it!
All in all I loved the read! It was a perfectly paced read through most of book that kept my interest the whole time. I will say the end got a bit fast paced, like Allen was trying to hurry the story up to end. But I definitely look forward to more of this series as it left me wondering what would happen next. 4.5 Stars!
Let Go by Heather Allen has it all – a sexy MMA fighter with a troubled past, steamy chemistry, and unexpected twists that leave you guessing what will come next.
Greylan Pace is seeking redemption and working his way back up the MMA ranks. Once at the top of his game, he lost it all when playing hero made him an enemy of the legal system. I loved his adversity, sex appeal, and selflessness. He risked it all for Mollie Andrews and would do it all again given the chance.
Years have passed and life has moved on without Greylan. It was interesting to watch Greylan ease back into normal life, develop a routine and find his niche again in the MMA circuit. I loved that I never knew which old acquaintances to trust and which enemies could turn into allies. The author has incorporated this tone of mystery and suspense throughout the story, which builds to one hell of a cliffhanger. Sparks ignite. Relationships crumble and are renewed. No one is immune to betrayal. You will definitely be left in shock and dying for the next installment in the Pace of Love Series.
If you’re looking story with a hunky MMA fighter, loads of drama and intrigue, and thick sexual tension, one-click your copy of Let Go by Heather Allen.
Yep...Numb. As in not feeling. Blessing or Curse? You don't hurt. But you aren't happy either.
Grey Pace is a MMA fighter. One that made a mistake and has paid for it for the last 5 years. Grey is numb. He has been to jail for that mistake. He has lost the only girl that really intrigued him. He has missed out on 5 years of his life, his sister's life and the career he mapping out. He is now trying to rebuild that life. He has to figure out what to do now. What to do next. How to rebuild and start living again.
This is where is gets complicated. Normally I would introduce the girl. The heroine. But this story really doesn't have one. The girl that Grey can't forget. She floats in and out of the story with no connection to Grey.
There are a bunch of characters. Grey is not sure who to trust and neither are you. I didn't feel the connection to anyone. I did like Grey, but I got no emotion from him. I wanted to love the book because I have enjoyed Ms Allen's other books. This one breaks some rules. You don't get the meet and fall in love story. You get a meet and then life turns to shit story. I just could not feel it. Sorry. Numb.
On the brink of the big time in the world of cage fighting, Greylan Pace makes a mistake that sees him go away for 5 years.
This fast paced story shows his struggles when he is released from prison, dealing with the guilt over the night that forever changed his life, guilt over leaving his younger sister to cope alone while he is incarcerated and her choice of another fighter as a husband and his attempt to get back the life he lost.
Heather Allen goes into a lot of detail in her descriptions of the fights which made me go cross-eyed as the scenes played out in my head. There is no doubt that Greylan is one sexy, tough guy while being loving and protective of those he cares about, especially his little sister Trinity and his new Best friend, Christina. Both woman are strong and not afraid to call him out but their unwavering loyalty to him when others around him seem more than a little shady.
I don't usually like an entire story in the 1st person, this book is an exception for me. I really enjoyed this one. Be warned though - you are left with a cliff hanger and I cant wait to see what happens in the next installment.
Cover – 5/5 Story line – 5/5 Character – Greylan- OMG he is so freaking hot and sweet!! Mollie – I look forward to see her more in book 2 but I am loving her developing character. Romance – Steamy and Sweet Heat Factor 4/5 (in my opinion) Drama – HELL YES! Laughs- Some Tears- Some Suspense - Some
Where do I start, Greylan is such a dynamic character, after going through what he did you expect him to be a hard arse and an arsehole but he is so far from that he just makes me want to swoon and melt at his feet. I loved how this story pretty much centred on him and building up his life again after the ordeal he went through 5 years ago. Heather has done an amazing job setting up for book two where we will see much more about what happens with Grey and Mollie. There are defiantly some steamy moments in this book and I cannot wait to see where this story ends up. I am so excited for part 2!!! Overall Book Addict Mumma Highly Recommended 5 Stars!
**Given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review**
Let Go, nice story and characters. Interesting concept and the flow is good. It’s easy to understand and follow.
The characters are good. Grey, a fierce fighter and a loving brother. I love how he takes things seriously especially in coming to the ones he loved. Mollie, a mysterious woman that really intrigues me. Christina, a supportive friend and I love how she treats and supports Grey in the things that she knew is best for him. She’s always there for him, even in bad times.
The story, I love how things started and the twist and turns on how it ended. There are times that I want to strangle Christina and Mollie but gah!! These characters made the story more interesting. Gah!! I never see that revelation coming!! It blows my mind. Love the way it ended!! Interesting and intriguing!!! Can’t wait to read of this story!
This book has great potential. It started really strong with the character, Greyson, a fighter going to jail for rescuing his friend's girl; he accidentally killed the guy. Then five years later, he's out and reunited with all the people from his past as he tries to get back into the game.
Immediately, I noticed the lack of commas before a name in the dialogue, and how the author uses no Showing. Everything is Telling. It got bland and annoying, especially when Greyson spoke of his feelings. We need vivid descriptions!
As for the plot, it was very interesting. At first. As the novel went on, I actually found it getting worse and worse. Everything was rushed, and it was just...ugh, no.
Written differently, it'd be a great plot. The only good thing about this book is the cliffhanger ending--it is the last thing you'd think of, and sure adds a good twist.
I just have to say I didn’t care for this book. I finished only because I can’t stand not to complete a book, I am always thinking it could get better, in this case I am sorry to say it didn’t. For a ROMANCE BOOK it didn’t have very much romance between the H/H, very little dialog between these two characters, didn’t even really get together until towards the end of the book. I am not saying the author didn’t do a good job of making me like Greylan, he had a lot of good qualities that I like in a guy but there was just not enough interaction between the two characters and by the time there was I was just DONE and then here comes the cliffhanger from hell. Unfortunately I am not invested enough in the characters to care about buying book two...
I was so bored by this book. After a third of the way through, I didn't care about any of the characters. I have many other interesting books to read other than this one.
I just couldn't connect with any of the characters The "main" girl is not really part of the book, and after the prologue we don't hear from her til like, half of the book... boring..
I thought this book had a very interesting premise and the first 30% or so was really well done.
After that, I thought it got a little slow and redundant and I must say that Greylan was really starting to get on my nerves. I didn't think that it was plausible that a tough MMA fighter would be having the inner thoughts he was having. I get the PTSD and the nightmares, but the way he was acting towards Red seemed more like the way a woman would react. For someone who had to take care of himself and his sister from such a young age, he didn't seem very street smart, in fact, he seemed pretty naïve. And he didn't seem to really have his head in the fighting.
We don't actually get to know her or any other the other characters that well either. There wasn't enough character development for me. He was in love with Red after a couple of sex scenes. He knew absolutely nothing about her. I get lust, but love? Really?
The end was pretty anticlimactic too. After all that buildup....I know it was a cliffhanger, but it was over so fast, I almost missed it. Hopefully book two will clear up a bunch of things and be a little more fleshed out.
Couple things- This same story has more than one title all listed under the same number so it's a little confusing. I'm not even really sure how to tag this story. It has sex, but it's not a romance, at least not in book 1 of this series.
Without giving too much information away this story is a clusterf**k. Grey can not catch a break and he is such a great guy to have all the crap that happens to him. I feel bad for Grey, and even for Trinity because she is also being taken advantage of, but I dislike all the other characters in this story; except for maybe the two trainers.
I'm not sure I will move on to book two. Mainly because I think I know that Mollie will grow a conscience, but I already don't like her so I don't want it to work out.
I barely got through the first chapter but couldn't continue with the novel - absolutley nothing interested me. Not sure if perhaps I read the blurb wrong, but the story introduced in the first chapter was certainly not what I was expecting. The characters came off as either unlikable or boring, and the plot did nothing to set itself as interesting in the initial pages.
I'm not sure what to say about this book. I almost stopped reading it several times, but I kept going. It was slow and it just didn't get me going. I did finish the book.
