Most books dealing with magickal Books of Shadows give you very specific information, including spells, to basically copy into a handwritten journal of your own. NOT THIS BOOK! Finally, a comprihensive guide on what to include in your BoS, how to construct it, and how to organize it. Also included are hints to doing your intial research, suggestions to personalizing your BoS, and making your own paper for a special touch that corresponds with each section of your BoS. Great book, highly recommended. An invaluable tool to help with one's own grimoire.
The closest thing I can compare a Pagan/Wiccan/Other's Book of Shadows/Life/Living, is the christian Bible, the muslim Quran/Koran, and other Holy Books from other systems. It's the written why of someone's faith. The big difference is that each person's Book belongs only to them or their group. Christians of all varieties all believe in the Bible, it's a Group Book, and Groups of Pagans/Wiccans/Others often do have their Group Books, PLUS individuals have their privet books.
This one could help you create a Privet personal book or a group book, it's all in the goal you have in mind. While it's geared a lot towards Wiccans, I think plenty of other kinds of Pagans and Others can use the ideas of layout from this book to help make their own books. I myself am Kemetic Pagan, I follow a path of the Ancient Egyptian Deities, so while I'm not Wiccan, I did find a lot of the info on putting together my own book very useful, and got some ideas on how to suit the info to my own beliefs easily. You just have to have an open mind to make the info work for your own beliefs.
I didn't follow most of the suggestions in this book for creating my own Book of Shadows (by the way something about that term has always irked me) and went with a different format that works better for me but there are some helpful hints. As a springboard it definitely helped to get me on the right path to organizing my own BoS.
Great outline for helping one organize their Book of Shadows. I didn't use all her ideas and recommendations, but she gave me a lot of interesting ideas for spell craft, sacred space, and ways to organize my thoughts.
This book helped me a lot with my personal Magick Grimoire I worked on putting together. it basically lists out Magick "correspondences" and helps give ideas on what to include in your chapters and takes you through the creation process step by step. It is a great reference!
