Samantha Baker has a crush on one of the most popular boys in school, Phillip Corinodi. Unfortunately, he also happens to be going out with Tracy, the girl every guy wants to be with. Pretty, popular, and bitchy, she is everything Samantha is not.

When the two spend an hour together in detention, Phillip strikes up a conversation with Samantha. They were friends once before, many years ago, before Phillip got popular and ditched her. Why is he suddenly talking to her again now, after so many years?

As her relationship with Phillip starts to take an exciting new turn, she witnesses a school shooting and her life is threatened. Can she trust Phillip enough to tell him the truth before she becomes the next target?

I am currently working on a few new exciting projects and will be giving away free copies of some great stories in exchange for feedback!

The main project is a new book I am writing in dedication for a friend! I really want to make sure it's special and does her proud!
(and is a hot read!)

I am also in the process of rewriting My Brother's Best Friend, and two sequels (a book on Emily the sister, and a prequel about Devin), My Brother's Best Friend was written many years ago, and which I'd like to retell as an older and more experienced writer (and person!). They were very sweet characters, and I would like to go into a bigger emotional depth with them (and add some more steaminess...!)

I will be giving free copies in exchange for some feedback!
(Anything negative or positive! Even if it's a few lines, - 'I loved it' 'Hated it' or 'Did not finish it' or anything in particular that stood out...

It's really special to me and close to my heart that it is a good read...

This will only be for a short time on their completion. Please let me know if you'd be interested in flicking through these stories for me!

Please message me, leave a comment or email me at beckyandrews11@gmail.com!

Love to everyone on GoodReads!

Becky :)

I didn't hate In Your Arms but it wasn't Becky Andrew's best work either. She could have done so much more with this story but it just fell flat. The plot of the story was good. It was just the execution that was lacking. The characters were pretty shallows pools, many of them didn't really get any closure and a couple of them even seemed extraneous. I spent a good portion of the novel thinking Michael was either an undercover cop or a drug dealer but no, he was just a poorly developed character who used to be home schooled. The dialogue was stiff and the narrative wasn't very smooth either. Which is weird because I have read two other books by the author and they both had much better writing. The end also was too brief. One more chapter or an epilogue to wind the story down and give a little closure would have been nice. Overall I'm not sorry I read it because the concept was good and I wanted to like the book enough to overlook it's shortcomings. However, it certainly didn't live up to its potential. Better character development and a good editor willing to give some constructive feedback would have done wonders for this book.

Ok, well I won this book on another site and I will say this one was interesting... I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it... I liked Sam. She was strong (not strong enough in some cases because I would have slapped the s$&! out of Tracy!!

It is hard for me to rate the characters because if feel they we underdeveloped..what was their history?? She and Phillip had been best friends in middle school, but he didn't know her parents???strange... There was also so unnecessary drama about steroids that just didn't fit. If this had been a longer book and that story line had been more developed then it would have worked..

This book had tons of unnecessary fluff that could have been used to make the plot more credible..no spoilers but not as good as My Brother's Best Friend

In Your Arms
by Becky Andrews

Given by author for an honest review.

Becky Andrews has written a very strong, emotional and riveting story with "In Your Arms". I couldn't stop reading it.

This is a YA story covering a very emotional time in high school for Samantha Baker.

It touches lightly on the social cliques and Sam's roll in them and strongly on her emotional feelings. From having a crush in Jr. High, to falling in love. From the terror of seeing something she shouldn't have, to finding the courage to do what is right.

This story was a roller coaster ride of emotions and memories for me.

I don't have any young adults in the home anymore, but in a year or two I want my granddaughter to read this book.

I highly recommend this book.

I read this book after stumbling across one of Becky Andrew’s books, My Brother’s Best Friend. I really enjoyed reading this and Philip and Sam’s love story is so sweet but amongst the love story is a really dangerous situations that Sam unfortunately is in the wrong place at the wrong time for. She keeps quiet about it until she starts thinking that the culprit knows that she knows. Really don’t want to tell you what happens because you have to read it. It’s very enjoyable and a really pleasant read.

It's not that I hated this book, it was just very cheesy and unrealistic. I understand most romance novels are unrealistic but not throughout the whole book. It had its cute parts but I hate how it ended and I felt like if it were longer it could've been better. This book is for less mature readers. I just could not get into this book and I was just waiting for it to be over. Not my favorite from this author.

Spectacular isn't enough

I read this book in 2 hours. I was feeling so many things at different times! I can'd even imagine going through what she did. All the popsicles were crazy. But the romance between Sam and Philip made it worth it. Amazing ending to an amazing story. EVERYONE SHOULD READ

Ok. Wth? I mean I don't know, this book just lack something. I don't understand Sam's logic not to say anything. But if ever theoretically her reasoning was sound? Their reaction of one of their classmate/schoolmate was unreal. And having witness it, the trauma alone....

But oh well...
