Cami Pressman is a yoga instructor with a lifelong secret love of junk food. Not even an irresistible man can replace the mouthwatering wickedness of her favorite foods.
Until, that is, Paul Hammond signs up for her class. He’s a gourmet chef looking to score some fitness tips, and a date with Cami. Suddenly Cami’s lust for junk food isn’t the only thing making her tingle.
When this sinful chef and hot yoga teacher eat, play, and lust together, they just might bring their obsession to a new level.

WOW, book high! can't stop grinning like a fool lol. If you need a laugh, read this!
Cami - a yoga instructor with serious food hang-ups due to her mother, & a tater tot obsession Paul - a gourmet chef needing to work a little more on his fitness, & a severe case of foot in mouth
put these two together & all I can do is laugh, but in a good way. sparks fly between them, they have a great natural chemistry & get on so well. even with her issues & his constant talking/verbal diarrhoea.
a few moments that I loved (there were more, but I can't really post the whole book, lol):
“What are you doing?” Paul looked up and shrugged. “At the moment? Sniffing myself to make sure I’m not too sweaty.”

“Be sure to leave a few plain, too. It’s kinda like sex. The point isn’t to have head-banging, nail-you-up-against-the-wall-with-one-leg-behind-your-neck encounters ever single time. The point is to mix it up, with a little missionary, a little cowgirl, a little—”

“Now I have to think about whether I shoved the condoms in the fridge with the scallops.” Paul frowned. “This could be uncomfortable.” “I promise not to judge you by whatever might happen when refrigerated latex touches your—”
I found this freebie on Amazon a couple of days ago and I decided to give it a try. I needed something short (this book is about 57 pages long), cute and light. I'm glad that I picked it up :)
A woman with body image issues, a tyrannical health food nut for a mother, a tater tot obsession and a crush on gourmet chef. Sounds like a match made in hell. However, Paul may be able to teach Cami a few important things about food and love.
Cami Pressman has had to deal with body image issues ever since she came home from her first year at college with the dreaded “freshman fifteen” plus a little extra. It happens, right? Mother dearest didn’t agree, and promptly pointed out her short-comings, going so far as to take a “fat picture” of Cami next to her fridge as a preventative measure, along with some health nut recipes she wanted her daughter to follow religiously. Cami threw herself into working out like a crazy person. Now she’s fit as a fiddle, toned and honed and unhappy. Her body got with the program, but her mind didn’t. She teaches yoga for a living to ensure she stays in shape. Always.
Paul Hammond is a gourmet chef. Naturally, he loves food. Naturally his body also loves his food, perhaps a bit too much. His doctor aka the nagging brother prescribes an exercise routine to whip him into shape. Yoga seems like a good idea, low impact, fun. and the instructor isn’t bad to look at either. He can’t formulate a coherent sentence around her, but when he discovers her dirty little secret, her love of tater tots, hilarity and a sensual teasing of the palates ensues.
I loved this story! It was sexy, light-hearted at times, and rip-roaring funny as hell at other times. Or maybe I just have a slightly juvenile sense of humor. Bottom line is, it was funny and I loved it. I think anyone can empathize with Cami and how she feels, even if you don’t have an eating disorder. It wasn’t even just about that. Cami was made to feel guilty which just compounded her problem. She never learned that she could still enjoy some of the foods she loved, but in moderation. I could also understand her shame and not wanting the man she’s been crushing on for a while to see her at her worst. Paul was such a sweetheart in that regard. Not once did he make fun of her or bug her with questions. He was smart enough to not push the issue and try to help her in a different way.
This couple had fantastic (culinary) chemistry, and I especially loved the hilarious dialogue between them. From the nervous word diarrhea filled with double entendres to the food geekery. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a light, sexy and fun read that will leave you with a smile on your face and an ache in your belly, either because you’re hungry or because of laugh cramps. You’re guaranteed both.
Favorite moment:
I learned quite a bit from their dialogue about paddleboarding:
- eight inches: the distance your hands should be when gripping the paddle
- “mount the board”: (as opposed to trying to heave yourself up on it, jump it, straddle it, etc.)
- “stroke it hard at first”: the paddle in the water
- “you really want to stick it in there”: the paddle in the water
- “is it too stiff?”: the paddle
- “try a different one with a more flexible shaft”: the paddle
Now, excuse me while I try to find a paddleboarding class at a lake near me.

Sometimes after reading lots of longer books, you need a shortie to clean the palate (for lack of a better phrase). And Eat, Play, Lust did just that. I can safely say that after reading it, I might not look at Tater Tots the same way again in the future. I never pegged them as a potential aphrodisiac, but man, that was one hot scene...lol! and I loved the use of SUP Yoga (Stand-Up Paddle Yoga) to move the story along. It was quick funny, in that, an online friend of mine had just been talking about trying it out and now I'm kind of interested (especially if there might be a hot guy involved for me ;) )
The story itself was short, only about 55 pages, and so I was able to read it rather quickly (all of it while waiting for a prescription to be filled at the pharmacy), but for such a short book it really packed a punch. I would love to see a long book between Cami and Paul, or even with them as secondary characters. In fact, I would probably even buy this book over if it were revised/expanded to tell a longer story (can that be registered as a request please...)
Let me just say do not read this novella in public unless you are willing to endure stares from strangers because you are chuckling non stop. I read it on a public bus and managed to garner a few odd looks when I laughed at something I just read.
There are enough double entendres in this novella to set anyone off into fits of giggles, which is why the above warning was needed.
Tawna Fenske has written such a fun novella that you forget it's a short story. I loved both of the characters, especially the heroines secret addiction. The scene when the hero finds out about it had me laughing.
As a long time fan/reader of this author, I was not disappointed with this story and look forward to more.
When yoga instructor Cami and gourmet chef Paul meet up for a private yoga lesson, neither realised that they would find themselves having more fun than should be legally allowed.
They bring out the best in each other and soon find out that eating and playing may lead to lusting and more.
A copy of this novella was supplied by the publisher for an honest review.
I grew up in a family where the philosophy was "Food Is Love". That might explain why I am fluffy. (Just sayin'.) In "EAT, PLAY, LUST", Cami also has some unresolved food issues. After gaining the "Freshman Fifteen" - or as she says, "Freshman Forty", her Mom embarrassed her into an overly strict healthy (tasteless!) diet. She's carried this food guilt, along with a major craving for tater tots, into her adult life. As a yoga studio owner & instructor, she feels she should not be eating her tater tots... but what happens when she falls into lust with a foodie chef?
"EAT, PLAY, LUST" is the story of Cami & Paul coming together over exercise and dinner, while also coming to the realization that moderation is key. Thankfully, moderation does not come into play with the sex scenes! Some food and some flexibility do, however, so be prepared with a fan! This is a fun, quick read -- Tawna Fenske writes a fun, 45 page story (currently on preorder for 99 cents - get yours now!) with some believeable characters and a great message behind her love story. Definitely recommend this for the carpool lane or while waiting at soccer practice. ENJOY!
This book gives a whole new meaning to food porn! Ha. I was giggling from the very beginning. So many double entendres made the dynamic between Cami & Paul so fun to read. I'd also like to say that this books deserves 4 stars just for that dessert recipe alone. I will totally be looking into reading more from this author. **Received an ARC from Net Galley in exchange for honest review**
I read the first chapter and that's all I could handle. I used to love romance books but they are no longer my thing. The Central Oregon part is fun being (one of) my home town(s).
I love, love sexy steamy romance stories but when I get that along with some stellar laughs, these are the books that make me want to shout from the rooftops! In Tawna Fenske’s Eat, Play, Lust there are quite a few sexy, steamy moments one even involving tater tots and there are many, many laugh out loud moments. Although this is a super short story, both characters touched my heart and I found myself so wrapped up in their situation that I kept swiping the screen on my Kindle Fire hoping more pages would magically appear. It’s not that it didn’t end well; I simply wanted more time with them and wow what I wouldn’t give for a wedding story featuring these two.
Cami Pressman is a yoga and fitness instructor with food issues thanks to her super health nut Mother and a bad freshman year in college. She has one guilty pleasure, one vice and although she feels horrible for indulging it’s just something she refuses to give up. After enduring a weeklong visit from her mother, Cami has to get through one last paddleboard yoga lesson with a new student and then she plans to indulge big time.
Paul Hammond has been trying to figure out a way to approach his yoga instructor for two months. A recent physical and a chat with his doctor brother has him setting up for a private lesson with her in hopes of actually getting to talk with her. Even though he’s nervous as hell, he can’t help but realize Cami is someone he’d like to spend more time with.
Wow oh wow, it was so hard not to love both of these characters right off the bat. It’s obvious Cami is insecure with her body and has some issues with food and after being with her mother for a week it’s in the fore front. She also has a huge crush on Paul who she knows attends her weekly yoga class. Paul is just such a likeable guy; he’s a little bit geeky, a lot burly, and often speaks without really thinking about how it’s going to sound coming out of his mouth. I swear each of those traits made me fall head over heels for him but the fact that he set out to help Cami understand her food issues was the icing on the cake. What I adore about this book is the author made us privy to their personal thoughts, so we get to see them kicking themselves for what they’ve said out loud to the other or how they are feeling about what the other said. This made for many humorous moments.
This book takes place in the space of several hours and yes while I would have loved for it to be longer, it is a fantastic story and I did not feel cheated at all. Did they move at lightning speed? Yes, but there was no denying the absolute lust and passion these two felt for one another. Oh and their sexy scenes…yummy, hot, sexy, fun…whew!
Eat, Play, Lust is a not to be missed book. In addition to it being a fabulous and fun story, it’s sexy as hell, and it is priced right at 99 cents. If you need a quick pick me up, a lunchtime read, or a little inspiration before heading to bed–this is the story for you!
I learned a while back never to laugh out loud when reading if the DH is home. Thinking this wouldn’t be a big issue; this was the last book that I stared before heading to bed the other night. BIG mistake! I was giggling early on, and laughing out loud before the first chapter of this novella was over. Rather than ‘reading out loud’ to the DH, since he never gets the humor anyway: I had to restart the story at page 1, so he could read over my shoulder. Sometimes giving in is far easier than battling over the kindle.
This is a completely adorable story with main characters that are just goofy enough to be endearing, even as they are struggling with their own embarrassment and issues. Cami is a ‘live healthy eat healthier’ paragon to her yoga students, although she hides her deep dark shame well. A near-orgasmic need and love for the lowly tater tot sends her into 18 minutes of agony, removes her sense of self-preservation and kicks up her guilt about the calorie count, and her obsession with counting the number of tots she can eat and the exercise and deprivation required after the indulgence show just how deeply rooted her issues are.
Paul is a chef, a gourmet chef, with a few extra pounds around his middle and a doctor/brother who has pushed, cajoled and nagged Paul to start a fitness regime and give up butter. Food is Paul’s interest: creating it, enjoying it, savoring it and above all, bringing pleasure to others with his creations. What Paul can’t seem to stop doing is saying the first thing that comes into his head, often with embarrassing results. His gaffes and sheer shock that he just said what he did are not only funny, but manage to show the heart beneath the verbal runaway. In fact, the DH laughed harder at his verbal mishaps with a “this will be good” sort of gleeful deviance as he read on.
Tawna Fenske has created a story that is fun for all sorts of readers: while Cami and Paul’s attraction is apparent, their interactions are priceless and all are tinged with a touch of sexual tension that leads to some incredibly steamy scenes. After the condoms have warmed to room temperature that is. Yes, you do have to read the book to understand that comment, but you will not regret it in the least. This is a fun, funny and steamy short contemporary romance with some deliciously sensual food descriptions, even more steamy sex and two characters who are sure to please.
I received an eBook from the publisher for purpose of honest review for the Jeep Diva. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
My Review: I read this novella in about 45 minutes. It's so short, but it easily is one of the most satisfactory short novellas I have EVER read. This book was so good, so sweet, so funny, and yes, so romantic.
Cami is a yoga instructor. Paul has been taking her group class for two months and she's definitely noticed him. He's noticed her too and that's part of the reason he decided to go in for a one-on-one class. This book worked because they've had that relationship for so long. Paul is a chef and OMG, I read this book in the parents area during my daughter's gymnastics class. Those parents think I'm a freak because this book kept me laughing out loud all the way through. Paul is constantly saying the wrong thing, but it's in such a sweet, funny way. I loved his character. I just wanted to cuddle up with him.
But he and Cami have great chemistry. Their dialogue is absolutely spot-on perfect. They were just so fun to read. BUT there's story there too. Cami was raised by a mother completely obsessed with food and weight. That's affected Cami in a big way. I love that Chef Paul immediately sees the problem here and goes about fixing it.
This book is about two very imperfect, real people making an incredible connection. It takes very little time to read, but the feeling it left me with made it one of the best books I've ever read. This little novella is going into a special place on my Kindle so I can pick it up when I need a pick-me-up. It's just a story that makes you happy.
I didn't find this interesting at all since I read a few first pages actually. But I tried to keep reading this hopping that there will be something interesting. But that wasn't coming so I stopped.
I don't find the "Lust" part of this book. Even though the title says like that. Maybe bcz I didn't finish it? idk.
Up until 56% it's just about Cami who is a yoga instructor that has a crush on one of her client who happens to be chef. She has a secret - she says it's a 'big secret' but in my opinion it's not at all, that she's a big fan of junk foods. She keeps hiding it bcz her mom is a healthy food nuts. And she's a yoga instructor that suppose to be a good example for her clients to not eating junk foods and have a healthy lifestyle.
that's all.
so boring!!
and the hero, Paul is not my favorite at all. He is so noisy!! He talks a lot just like a girl! I can't even picture if he's a hot guy with big, muscular body!
Most of the book is talking about foods and yoga that I have no idea what it's all about! (¬_¬)
I don't like the heroine's name too. "Cami" is sounds really weird in my ears (´・_・`)
A few years back, I discovered a fantastically funny romantic comedy called Making Waves by a woman named Tawna Fenske. It kept me up that night while I finished it, and it reminded me that "light, romantic, beach read" means good things.
Since then I've been a huge fan, so when I heard Tawna had a book coming out, and that I might finish it before one am, I was all over it.
The read was fast (this is a short one, which was perfect for my mood), and it was just as sexy, fun, and grin-inducing as I hoped for. Cami has so much depth and I really was drawn to her, and Paul..
He's not just heating things up in the kitchen, that's all I'm saying.
This was a fantastic short, the food references were brilliant (and mouth watering) and the laughs and 'aww's' were fantastic. My only complaint is, now I have to wait *again* for the next Tawna Fenske novel. But it'll be worth it, it always is ^_^
Eat, Play, Lust by Tawna Fenske: Cami Pressman is a successful yoga instructor with her own studio located on the river’s edge in Bend, Oregon. In addition to all kinds of group classes, she provides private paddleboard lessons to those students who want a little more challenge from their yoga workout. Cami is a junk food addict and occasionally eats dozens of tater tots at a time to satisfy her craving. Read More
Being so short, it pretty much gets straight to the point. Boy likes girl. Girl likes boy. After some bumbling around, boy and girl get together … but the bumbling is very delicious.
If you need a great way to wrap up your summer night, grab a glass of wine and sit back – Eat Play Lust is that perfect little tidbit to finish out your day.
This is my first Tawna Fenske book, definitely not my last! What a fun read! Hot chef and beautiful yoga instructor. How can you go wrong? Tawna puts good laughs, great chemistry and hot scenes a short amount of time. Awesome! I can't wait to add more of her to my TBR!
*I received this book from the publisher through Net Galley.
A super quick read, this novella was cute, funny, and sexy... the chemistry between Cami -a yoga instructor- and Paul -a gourmet chef- it's amazing and it'll leave you hungry for more -no, seriously... the food talk left me starving :) LOL
