Excerpt
Letting my finger drift along the line of those ripped muscles, I’m having too much fun to realize that his eyes have opened and that he’s watching me with amusement. The instant I do, I blush. Christ, being a strawberry blonde is a killer sometimes.
“You know what you’re starting, right?”
His voice is usually deep, but this early morning rumble sets me on fire. An unfortunate turn of phrase for someone in my circumstances, but hey, it’s the truth.
“Very aware,” I retort, and continue to trail my finger over his flesh, taking particular pleasure in rubbing the line of his obliques. Yum.
He grabs my hand and curls upright, in a move that has each muscular square of his stomach curling and tautening. “Let’s clean up, first.”
For a moment, I wonder if I stink. And then, I remember two things. Christ, this isn’t a romance story. Morning breath does exist in this world, as does the garlic-rich spaghetti sauce we both consumed last night. Because of that, I’m not offended and jump up and run to the bathroom. Stuffing my toothpaste-loaded toothbrush into my mouth, I jump in the shower for a quick wash. And squeal, when an equally toothbrush-touting Zane pops in front of me.
Until now and unlike myself, he’s always respected my privacy. Somehow, I know this marks the start of the demise of privacy as I know it.

The million dollar question is not the name of the third Musketeer. It is not who killed Roger Rabbit. It is not what is the meaning of life. It is whether a one night stand can turn into something more, or is it just wishful thinking! All that heat, all that need that comes out of a random encounter that leads to a hot date under (or over, or nowhere near) the sheets. And then it's a lovely hand shake and each to their own. Maybe all of it was a lie, even the name; maybe the only thing that matters is the moment of ecstasy shared between two souls, truth be damned.
This is what one night stands are supposed to be, right? One night filled with unmatched passion, where there's no inhibitions, no over-thinking, and no intention of meeting again, right? So for one night, you can be whoever you want, whatever you want, lie or cheat or pretend, and enjoy the connection... Yeah well, not so much. Not when the spark has lit the whole damn flat on fire.
Yes, Zane has lied. He has cheated. He has confused, but not more than he himself is confused. He has mislead, but not mistreated. And his suggestion may be absurd, but the good girl in Mona is smothered by the freedom of the choice presented to her, one that she reluctantly admits to herself is her only choice, when those closest to you turn you down. And when the offer comes wrapped in the delicious package that is Zane, with a background of their rhythmic voices and their sweat-soaked sheets, well, it's damn hard to resist.
So Mona gives in. And boy does she enjoy it. Up until the cheated part of the group shows up, and puts her face to face with the truth: she is about to ruin a marriage. How far is she willing to go to save the heart of the one she loves?
Yes, that sounds so cliché, doesn't it? Well, it's a good thing something does, because let me tell you, this second part of the series had me really worried at times, in all the good, edging-off-my-seat ways. There were so many emotions, so many real life complications, so much conflict, and so much randomness going through Mona's mind, that I admit I did get a little overwhelmed.
Sometimes the best thing to do is switch off your brain and go on auto-pilot until you get your life in order. Way too much thinking never helped anyone. Except perhaps Jake. I wonder what this sleek manipulator has planned for our little girl.
There was only one thing that bothered me enough in this book to keep it from a 5-star rating. I admit it's personal, but hey, that's me.
I have absolutely no problem with the whole "slut" idea. In fact, as someone who proudly identifies as one, I find the world's reactions amusing sometimes. But I know how to say I am sorry when my ways cause someone else discomfort. I know how to set aside my emotions and apologize, without discrediting how and what I feel. And when you willingly get involved in a marriage, the least you can do is apologize for the heartache.
I am not saying, be apologetic. Just say the words. Be a little responsible and own up to the shit-storm you helped create. The feeling I got from the main character was more "these are my feelings, I'm proud of them, and I sure ain't gonna apologize for them". Ok. Suit yourself. But that doesn't make you strong or defiant, girl. That just makes you a bitch ;)
MORE!!! I need more! who said that erotica is only about raunchy sex. Which BTW the sex scenes are so hot. honestly I get hot flashes when I read them. While Fall Into Love you've got to know Simone, and all about her failing marriage and why she's been celibate for years. She meets Zane. A man who was only supposed to be a one night stand, but it turns out to be more complicated than that. In Crazy Little Thing Called Lust we finally get to know more about Zane and why Mona feels so betrayed. let me tell you I honestly didn't expect Zane being who he is, and why he lives his life the way he does, and who he loves. I guess you can say that I was just as confuse as Mona was, but as we come to realize. love has no sex, race, or age. As I continue to read I begin to understand Zane more. This is what I'm starting to love about Serena Akeroyd it's not about the story being an erotica. it's the details that she puts into her characters. How real they become. How they feel passion, pain, fear, and recklessness. You can honestly read her story and it feels like you're watching the most amazing dramatic, passionate, f*cking sexy movie ever. This is more than just an erotica. Maybe you might read my review and say that I'm a bit too bias. Maybe you think I'm like her BFF lol. no I'm not. In all actuality I follow this artist on Twitter and she had a giveaway for a free copy of her first story. I was able to be one of those lucky winners and have been hooked ever since. She's talented and passionate in her writing as you can see, and deserves all the credit for her hard work. I can't tell you how anxious I am to read All That Glitters. I will be in anticipation
I enjoyed the first part of this series, Fall Into Love, but I've got to say, and this shocks me, Crazy Little Thing Called Lust is even better.
Just finished this today and while the cliffhanger is still ongoing, I was pleased at the way the author managed to tie up a few loose ends. Not sure how likely it is that Zane could be what he is, but that's fiction for you and as well, in this world, we're all different. Who's to say that it isn't possible. Well, I won't say too much, because I don't want to spoil it.
We see a bit more of Simone in this one as well as Zane. They're not cardboard cutouts, they're real people and again, still worthy of my liking them. More well-written prose and an ending that has me wanting the next part to come out. All That Glitters according to the last page of Crazy Little Thing Called Lust promises a lot more drama.
More sex scenes; raunchy and hot. Like the author's style here. She glides into them, doesn't spring too many on you and each one is dense with description so that you feel like you're there! And what a sight that would be.
This is the second book in this series. Zane is more complicated than Simone thought, but she can't get him out of her head. It might have something to do with all the messages that he's been leaving her. She really doesn't want anything to do with him again. The hurt was still raw after finding out his humongous secret. Eddie and Marina said maybe its not as cut and dry as you think, maybe his situation isn't all you believe it to be. Simone is very frustrated. Her boss calls her in for a late night cleaning job. She has instructions to wait till the owner comes home before she leaves. This isn't normally done, so Simone doesn't know what to expect. From there things change drastically for Simone. This second book is much more sensual than the first, awesome steamy read. Congratulations to the Author on her second book release.
After reading Fall Into Love, I could not wait for the conclusion of the ending and boy, I got what I asked for! Bought it as soon as it came out and read it in no time at all.
In my day, such graphic details about sex weren't really done so this does come as a bit of shock. Not a bad one, just a bit of an eye-opener!
Wish Zane had been about back in my days of youth. I'd have been his GI bride and no mistake! Looking forward to part 3. Will be buying as soon as it comes out.
This series is HOT! Everything about this series is so original. I loved that the names, relationships, circumstances, and the writing was so different. I had chills the whole time I was reading, just waiting to see what was coming next! The characters grip you and take you for one hell of a ride. Serena Akeroyd is now one of my most recommended authors, and the Naughty Nookie Series is a fantastic, edge of your seat, love triangle, author, detective, cleaning lady, naughty novella! Must read for 2014!
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
The second book in the series picks right up where it left off. Even though Mona thinks she can't be with Zane she can't stop thinking about it. She starts to think about herself and what she wants in life not what everyone thinks she should have. This book is not just about erotica but about characters who find themselves and realize that they don't need to conform to what society thinks is right.
** I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.** I absolutely love this book. It is hilarious. I haven't laughed out loud like this because of a book in a long time. Well written story. Although its a quick read, it holds a lot of emotions within it. I love how the story flows. The erotic sex scenes are amazingly hot! Very good read.
beta copy provided by this kick ass author for little ole me to review :)...... I love Jake. im not gay and im not bi.... he tells me he's not gay and he's not bi but he lives a man ... holy wrench in the feels there. this novella was a nice sexually fulfilling read .. I'm hanging on to my panties for dear life. .. all is fair in love and lust right? ??
Part 2/4 Mona has found out what Zane's secret was. She doesn't know what to do with the information. She tries avoiding him but he finds her. The night he finds her, her apartment burns down. Zane has a proposition... But his little secret that's not so little and not so secret anymore has Mona holding back. Can she be the other woman, well not other woman....
Another hot installment in the series, and another cliff hanger. Again well written and descriptive. I have to say the plot hasn't gone where i thought it would but its definitely interesting. Roll on the next one :)
OhmydearGod!!! Serena, you are an erotica Goddess!! When I read the first installment, "Fall Into Love", I was very intrigued with Mona & Zane's story, but now that I have read "Crazy Little Thing Called Lust", I am HOOKED, & panting to find out more, more, more!!!! Amazing!
Continuation in my Love & Hate of Zane. You will be kept intrigued with this second book & I am looking forward to Book 3. You will NOT be disappointed.
I am still on the edge of my seat never knowing what will happen next. Excellent read. Can't wait to get to the next one. Very imaginative storyline! Love it!
I was given the opportunity to read this by Serena, and asked my opinion on it.
WELL
If you asked me what in life I would deem an absolute delicacy, I would tell you that it would be, Cranberry & Roasted Hazelnut Nougat accompanied with a small snifter of Sweetened Vintage Port.
''If you can imagine placing a small morsel of said Nougat into your mouth and to let the slight taste of it melt, extracting its juices and letting them run smoothly down your throat just ever so slightly, and then you get the urge to taste it just a little bit and the crunch from the roasted hazelnut just absolutely explodes into your mouth and the sweetness of the cranberries just absolutely enlivens the flavour to the utmost of extremes, and then to wash it down with a small sip of sweetened vintage port , that to me would be an absolute food explosion of heaven, and yip that is how I would explain what this book did to me LOL.
So I guess by now you can see why for me this book was a 5 star.
It was short and sweet and it was an absolute tragedy that I had to sleep in between because I wanted to just read 2-4 back to back completely. In fact I cannot really come to terms with how I felt reading them, it was more explanatory than inhaling, but the right word just doesn't come to mind.
Anyway I would recommend these books to all erotic romance lovers, as these absolutely rocked.
As I've said to you many a time Serena , you were obviously brought up with the right etiquette because it definitely portrays in the way you express your writing technique, and that it for me what makes these books more special, as they excite me, and you bring to life the characters so we not only are reading their story, but we can feel their feelings of emotions as well as live each day with them and experience everything they do.
The relationship between Zane and Mona is a special one, but she always knows in the back of her mind and heart that she will never be number one in his eyes, that he has another love and his name is Jake.
And this is why she has decided to not go down that track, she now knows who he is and who he is married to, she will back away.
But things happen and the events that play out lead her straight back into Zane's arm, and she becomes his kept mistress, blow me down with a feather now who wouldn't want to be Zanes mistress, I think we could overlook the fact he has another love couldn't we !!!!!!
Paparazzi get ahold of the fact that Zane has a woman in his life and destroy everything they have by displaying pictures of them together in the worst moment possible and it leaks back to Jake and he runs.
This book is what happens while Zane tries to locate jake and try and explain everything to him.
It is a must read, place it on your TBR list NOW, you just have to, and start it in the morning because you will want to go on to book 3 straight away and you can sleep until you know what happens at the end of this book.
Once again Serena well done to you, this is AMAZING? xx
This is the second installment in the Naughty Nookie series and like the first, it's worthy of five stars. There were a number of things that drew me to this book.
First of all, I read it in about an hour. I sat there curled up on my couch and devoured it, ignoring pretty much everything else. It's short, engaging, and thrilling. There's not a ton of sex in this installment. In fact, we don't get to the sex until about 3/4 of the way through the book. But the sex is no less hot and steamy than it was in book 1.
I'm going to spoil book 1 (Fall Into Love) for you now with a quick and dirty little summary. Mona meets Zane in a nightclub. They have a steamy one night stand and she leaves in the morning on her own terms. She leaves Zane her number and goes to research him (he's an author so he's easily searchable). That's when she finds out his big secret. He's married to a man.
In this book, Zane begs her for another chance. There's something about Mona that he just doesn't want to lose. He proposes an unconventional arrangement. She'd be his kept woman, spending time with him when he's away from his husband and she'll want for nothing.
I loved the moral dilemma that Mona is put in and Zane's approach to it all. I found his reactions suitably odd for this is a man who is confused and doesn't know what he wants or how to go about getting it. He claims he's not gay or bisexual, but loves a man and loves women.
Mona was raised in a very traditional household (as well as an abusive one) and naturally she has a hard time with all of this. But deep down, she's fully in lust with Zane and so she agrees, for a short time after something happens that forces her hand.
The author does one thing in this book that I found refreshing. At one point when Zane and Mona area about to have sex, he suggests that they "clean up". No one ever talks about the mundane. Brushing teeth, washing, morning breath - they are all real and natural aspects of life. Too many books ignore them.
The other interesting aspect of this book is how Zane refers to himself. He's not gay, not bi, but loves his husband and loves sex with women. I'm all for not labeling. I think the world would be a better place if we didn't have to label sexuality. Love should be love. Sex should be sex. I wonder if in Zane's mind, he could ever envision having a kept man. And I really want to meet Jake. What would have happened if he'd met Mona first and Jake second? So many questions.
I want to know how this story ends. I look forward to the next installment.
I received a copy from the author for an honest review.
In the second installment of the Naughty Nookie Series, we find Simone (Mona) avoiding calls and messages from Zane. After the shocking revelation, Mona judges him and doesn't want to forgive him. Mainly due to her southern religious upbringing but I would think I might make the same call. It is a little out of the norm and would have to give it more thought. Yet Mona can't get the Zane out of her mind. After the one night of mind blowing sex, first in her life, she feels a connection to Zane that she has never felt with any other man. Then on top of all this her best friends are telling her to at least let him explain. After Zane uses Mona's job as a housekeeper to confront her so he can explain. He wants her to be his mistress or in her words a kept women. Still unable to wrap her mind around this Mona is torn. Between her moral upbringing and the attraction she feels to Zane she isn't sure she can agree to his proposition. Then she loses everything and throws her world into chaos she can no longer deny the sexual attraction she has with Zane.
Once again you are left with a major cliff hanger at the end and you really have to wonder where this is going. If it going where I think it is. Hot times ahead.
Once again Serena has great characters, funny, witty dialogue and a tight story that is hard to find in short erotica romance books.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This installment picks up a week after Simone discovers the shocking bombshell about Zane. It would be easy to say that Simone is acting all judgmental and unforgiving, and maybe she is, but a lot of that has to do with her upbringing, even if she is more accepting than her bigoted father. And still, if the same thing happened to anyone else, it's easy to understand her reaction to the situation. A situation that becomes even more bizarre once Zane lays out his proposition.
Understandable how Zane feels about friends not being there when the ish hits the fan, but I kind of wish Simone's friends didn't fall into that category and proved Zane wrong; of course if they were there for her when she needed them, then the story wouldn't have taken the turn it did.
As with Fall Into Love, the sex scenes are plenty hot; this is definitely one series that is enjoyable to get hooked on!
I liked part two better than part one. I found the main character’s snark a little less exaggerated and her emotions a little less annoying, although I still don’t know why she annoyed me quite so much at the end of the last one. There are other elements to her and to the story that make me relate to her better.
Also, I found the sex scenes hotter in this one and yet I really like how realistic she makes them.
I’m interested and excited to see where the latter two parts go and hope they go where they look like they’re going, because I enjoy books about relationships that rebel against convention, which is where we’ve gone and where it looks like we’re going. So, yeah, looking forward to that.
Not sure what spark it needs to push this up that last notch, but it’s a 4.5 Fireballs from me.
Is it the end of a beautiful, lusty, romance before it has even really started? Of course not! There would be no more story to tell.
Some of the descriptions of the sex scenes, particularly the details of Mona's amazing orgasms, are terrific. It makes the reader wonder if the author is writing from personal experience. It must be the most enjoyable possible research if that is true.
There are lots of great twists and turns, many unexpected, in these stories. Yet again, at the end of book two, we are left wondering what will happen next and feeling sorry for poor Mona. Will her life ever be straightforward? I hope not!
I recently reviewed part 1 and stated how much i needed part 2, well it was as good as i expected but now what i can say but part 3 where the heck are you?! This book carries on from part 1 obviously, but the thing is, this time we learn something about the characters, their emotions and a bit even of their pasts and thats nice. I loved 1 but i couldn't overly connect with them, now i am hooked.
Sometimes life isnt simple, sometimes things are complicated but sometimes these situations are just out of our hands, and this book looks at that. Its real, gritty and oh has some beautifully written sex. It takes the characters to a new level in their relationship and thats what it is, theirs, oh - i need part 3 and i think this would work wonders as one whole book!
Book two in the Naughty Nookie Series was just as good if not better then the first. Mona finds out about Zane's Big secret in book one that he is married but not only married but to another man! He then tries to get her to agree to be his mistress and that does not sit well with Mona. She was raised in a very strict one way of life and it goes against all her morals, but she cant stop how she feels for Zane and is kind of thrown at him when her whole world is turned upside down and she looses everything! The ups and downs and you just waiting to find out just kills you! This one was also short but filled in alot of the details that book ones cliffhanger left you wondering about although this one still ended just as abruptly! On to the next I go!
Ok so what the heck happens to friendships when there is a man involved who is so powerful that he intrudes in on your every thought and not just yours? Well you one hell of a mess on your mind and in your hands to deal with. Eddie and Marina you have to love them because there are true friends who will confuse the hell out of you when they say one thing then with a night’s sleep another. Wait what your friends actually support the man. Mona sure has her work cut out for her when it comes to finding out the truth but dealing with a life full of lemons.
I received this book in exchange of an honest review! Second book in the same day!!! Getting wild and complicated, the situation between Mona and Zane couldn't be hotter though!!! Well written and researched I loved it as much as the first one!!!! And as a romantic I thought i'll have some possessiveness' issues but the story is fluid and balanced in a way that you just melt!!!!
