Sky's whole world is turned upside down when she catches her long-time boyfriend cheating. Depressed over the breakup, she decides to drive to the beach to spend time with her friends and drown her sorrows in hot guys and fruity drinks. The only problem with her plan is her piece-of-junk car. It breaks down halfway into her trip, in the middle of nowhere—a place where cell phone towers don't even exist.
Ford's life has changed drastically in the past year, and he spends his days working at his family's run-down auto repair shop. When his father tells him to go rescue a stranded traveler, he soon finds himself with a hot opportunity to forget about what ruined his life, even if it's only for one night.
With sexy chemistry between them, Sky and Ford agree to a one-night stand, to let go of what each of them are running from and enjoy each other with no strings attached. But as their heated night progresses, they both know that one night is never going to be enough. What happens when one night turns into two? And two turns into three? Can two people, who know nothing about each other, really fall in love?
Jennifer Foor is an award winning Contemporary Romance Author. She's best known for the Mitchell Family Series, which includes ten books. With over forty published titles, there is a story for every interest. Her books can be found on most platforms and in paperback. She is married with two children and spends most of her time behind a keyboard, creating and writing stories straight from her heart.
This book was so disappointing. I spent about a hour reading reviews on Amazon deciding which book to buy and went for this after all the great reviews. I hadn't read a book by the author before but with all the 'Jenn Foor has done it again' comments I was anticipating finding a new author with a back catalogues of books I could get into. Sadly that was not the case. This was a dnf for me and I don't understand what everyone else sees in it.
I read the book til 40% so I gave it a good go but couldn't justifying wasting anymore of my time on it. In the 40% I read all Ford and Skylar did was have sex, sex and more sex interspersed with run-ins with their exes. Neither character was likeable, especially Ford. He repeated said he had been a dick to Skylar and he was not wrong. The writing was also too much of the tell rather than show variety.
DNF @ 68% Bad bad book, *taps wrist* Seriously if it wasn't for the lack of storyline, tangible location (they were moving the 2bit town an hour here, 3 hours there) the repetitive sex scenes and shallow characters I MAY, May, have liked this book. I honestly question WHAT THE HELL DID EVERYONE ELSE READ???? This was so far from a 5* story, It is in the minus zone! I gave up at 68% as I couldn't stomach the weak willed every page sex these two characters were having. The thoughts of wanting someone else's problem to just 'go away' errr little tip for future love, wrap your boy up! Because it's not just pregnancies you should worry about! The flimsy back n forth story that was making my head hurt, it wasn't really going anywhere. This was repetitive to THE max. So for that reason, I'm out!
I tried with this, I really did (not least because I'd been a bit rash and bought a box set of this series for some unfathomable reason), but the characters were not interesting to me, the set up didn't grab me and the hot smut simply wasn't enough to carry this. The final straw was the alternating fp pov that repeated a bit every time it switched. Just, nope. Moving on...
**ARC kindly provided by author in exchange for an honest review**
Well Jenn Foor just keeps them coming. This book was just as great as all her other ones. This was a great start to another great series. Jenn definitely knows how to create swoon worthy heroes and strong heroines. She is also the master of creating the characters we LOVE to HATE!!!!! This book was no different. I loved both Ford and Skylar. This book kept me intrigued from the beginning to the end. This story will have you laughing, crying, yelling, swooning, and most definitely blushing. I think this book was the steamiest of them all so far.
I thought Skylar was a great heroine. She was strong and knew what she wanted. She was broken to some extent because of her ex boyfriend. He was a total douche. The story starts out with Skylar trying to get to the beach to meet her friends and get away from her crappy ex boyfriend. Although she doesn't get there because her junker of a car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. This is where her life takes a surprising turn because this is where she meets Ford. And let me tell you....he shakes up her world something good. :) Now I will say that I didn't like Ford right off the bat, but he did eventually get under my skin. He too was broken. He has had a pretty crappy home life for quite a few years. His mom was a mess and then he suffers a tragic loss. Because of these factors Ford is forced to come home and help out his drunkin father. With all of this Ford has built walls around him to protect him from being hurt. Well this is where Skylar comes in and rocks his world. These two characters were from totally different worlds but they still worked well together. I loved watching their relationship grow. Yes they came upon some bad situations but it w as great to see them eventually work through them all and come out the other end stronger people.
I would definitively recommend this book/series to anyone looking for a steamy romance between two people who would normally not go together. If you are a fan of Jenn' s other books you won't want to miss this one!!!!!
Where do I start with a book like this??? If you've read ANY of Jennifer Foor's books you know, she knows how to ROCK your world...well, let me tell you..this one will exceed all your expectations! You will EXPLODE with excitement and anticipation when you begin to read... I love and I mean LOVE Ford... yes, he starts out the typical bad boy..all tatted up and too hot for his own good..till he meets broken hearted Sky who is gorge herself .... sparks fly, along with words and their clothes ;) As they decide to spend ONE NIGHT together...yadda yadda yadda :) .... One night don't cut it...they need MORE!!! Jennifer Foor sure knows how to write MORE and MORE...gah...just read the book!!! I can not wait for MORE in the series..the Mitchell series was awesome and this one is going to be just as good if not better... great job .. outstanding read!!! SQUEEEEE!!!!
I’m in love with a Ford and I don’t mean the pickup truck, I mean a man named Ford. I’ve been reading Jenn Foor’s books for some time now. I’ve read all the Mitchell and Bankshot series books and I have to say that I truly feel that Repair Me is her best book EVER! And no, it isn’t just because of the steaming HOT moments *and there are a lot of them*, or even the HOT man in the book, this story had real character and charm. It was so believable and realistic I felt like I was watching a movie at times… Jenn has a gift for writing the sizzle but this book was so much more than that.
We follow Skylar who has just run off to escape the images sent to her of her longtime boyfriend in bed with not just one but two other women… What better way to escape then head to the beach and blow off some steam… When she runs off the road and is stranded in the middle of nowhere, little does she know that this one small accident would change the course of her life forever! What I truly loved about Sky’s character is that even though she came from a well off family you never got the sense that she felt entitled or that she would belittle anyone for the life they lived. She was truly a strong yet sensitive character. And when she loved, she loved with everything she had and would stop at nothing to see her loved one happy.
And then we have Ford, he’s had his share of tragedy and heartache in such a short life. What he needs is to find a distraction from the life he is forced to lead. When he finds Sky on the side of the road, she is just the kind of distraction he is looking for… Ford harbors so much guilt… The one thing he doesn’t feel guilty for, wanting Sky. The problem is that she is so much more than he bargained for... Did I tell you he’s hot??? Well ladies you’re in for a wild ride with this one!
These two are explosive in the bedroom… Some of the scenes are like kindle/iPad melting HOT… Let me just tell you that I truly believe Chapter 6 is unforgettable and should be illgale or something!!!! Jenn wasn’t kidding when she said I’d need a fan, more like I needed a bucket of ice cold water! But the awesome thing about Sky and Ford was that their chemistry extends beyond the bedroom and you fall in love with them as a couple almost immediately! I couldn’t help but cheer them on, and cry for them when life threw them curve ball after curve ball. These two are completely mismatched in almost every way, yet having a lot more in common than they realized. Sky’s ability to love Ford despite all the road blocks shows that true love really does exist and makes you believe that love can conquer all.
The supporting characters lend credibility to this story as much as Sky and Ford. We have Ashley (the ex) who is just plain evil and disgusting, but you can almost empathize with her because Ford is truly a catch! I won’t even talk about Sky’s ex he’s just an arse of epic proportions and deserves no attention… *evil wink* Then there is Shayne, Ford’s cousin… I really enjoyed his character and though I was quite angry with him at points, I truly believe he was trying to do what was best for everyone. We also had Sky’s best friend Lacey who we didn’t hear much from but the little that we did her spunkiness and dialogue was enough to make me want more from her, she’s fun!!!
Repair me was an emotional and angst riddled read that twisted my heart and might have induced the need for some cold showers! If you haven't met Ford yet get this one now. You won't be sorry!!!! I happily give this one my 5 star seal of approval!
Now the waiting till book #2. I don’t know what’s in store for these characters but knowing Jenn Foor it will be just as steamy and keep me wanting more more more…
Another amazing book by Jenn Foor. Jenn is about to have you swooning over Ford, this guy is just deliciously sweet, caring and selfless.
Sky is a college student in need of a break after finding out that her boyfriend cheated over. Sky decides to head down to the beach with her friends. On the way she has an accident that leaves her stranded in a small country town. With no phone reception and the only offer of help from a creepy old man, no thanks. The same pick up heads her way but this time it's a hot young guy willing to help her.
Ford, swoon... Ford hasn't had an easy life, his mother left for a life of drugs his father turned into an alcoholic and his sister recently died in an accident. Ford had to drop out of college and return home to help his father out at the shop, all thanks to the old man not paying his taxes. They are now at risk of loosing the shop and there farmhouse.
Sky's jaw drops when Ford gets out of the pick up offering to help her. What's a girl to do, she hasn't seen another car in hours and if a hot boy is willing to help her out why not take the risk. After talking to her friend Lacey Sky considers what she said, she can be who she wants to be while stranded with this hot cocky country boy. Maybe Ford can be the one to take her mind off her recent breakup, even if its only for one night...
“I’ll fuck you so good that the only car you’ll ever drive will be a Ford, because you’ll never stop thinkin’ about me."
“When you’re lying in my bed tonight, you’re going to wish I was there with you. Are you going to touch yourself while you’re thinkin’ about me?"
What happens when the guy you plan on having a one night stand with turns out to be so much more. This guy makes you feel like no other man has. What happens when the girl you plan on having a one night stand with makes you feel and open your eyes to see you are worth so much more. This girl you just met believes in you more then anyone else has.
"Now I had found this woman that shared the same heart as me"
You are in for one hell of a roller coaster ride with Sky and Ford's relationship, its one ride you won't want to get off. These two selfless people deserve happiness. The twists and turns will have you wanting to read this in one sitting, you won't want to put this down. I absolutely loved both of these characters as well as the side characters. I can't wait to read Shayne and Lacey's story. Ashley I really disliked, she just goes to show girls will do anything to try and be with the person they love regardless who who gets hurt.
Repair Me is amazing and a great first book in the Kin Series. I can't wait to Replace Me. I am already missing Ford
First, let me just say that J4 is the ABSOLUTE Bomb Diggity! I don't know how she does it, but she does. J4 is just about the only author that can get away with a series. Why, because the books get better EVERY time. Love you J4.
Now, "Repair Me" is every bit of its name. Sky is a college student and has been dating her boyfriend for the last few years. Only to receive a "text" of him cheating on her. I was so glad to see that she's not like most heroines and pouts through the entire book about what happened, but makes a decision to try and get herself back on track right away. So she basically invites herself to her friends trip to the beach getaway. Unfortunately, but fortunately, on her way there, she tries to dodge an animal in the road and ends up in a field, spunt out. That is when Ford, sent by his dad, is there to rescue her. It wasn't the ideal meet and greet but Ford can say he was truly stunned by her beauty. Ford was a little rough around the edges at first. And he had every right to be. His mom had left them behind. He loses his siter. He had to give up his college education/money to help save his dad's land/home/auto shop, all while stuck in the middle of nowhere. Sky changes all of that. Their relationship was certainly a whirlwind due to the number of things/events that take place, but the ending is well worth it. Repaired and restored!
If you have not read this book or any of J4's book, I suggest you get on it right away. She never disappoints. Totally can't wait for book 2.
She's done it AGAIN!! Jennifer I have added a new book boyfriend to my list thanks to you. (and the list keeps getting bigger and bigger).
well I would love to say so many things but my mind is still in this HUGE cloud it just went blank :( ****WARNING***** you will need a cold shower.
*******The cover of this book caught my attention, country boy with tattoos.*******
This story will have you laughing, crying, yelling, swooning, and most definitely blushing. I thought Skylar was a great heroine. She was strong and knew what she wanted, Sky is a college student in need of a break after finding out that her boyfriend cheated over. Sky decides to head down to the beach with her friends. On the way she has an accident that leaves her stranded in a small country town. With no phone reception and the only offer of help from a creepy old man. The same pick up heads her way but this time it's a hot young guy willing to help her.
And Ford was OH EM GZ!! but Ford hasn't had an easy life, his mother left for a life of drugs his father turned into an alcoholic and his sister recently died in an accident. Ford had to drop out of college and return home to help his father out at the shop, all thanks to the old man not paying his taxes. They are now at risk of loosing the shop and there farmhouse.
So, since I don't want to give too much away from the story, That is it!! Go get yours and read.
I cannot even express how much I loved this book. Hmmm...Ford. What can I say? I even said to my husband "I want Ford"...He asked what was wrong with my truck (Chevy)...Lol. if he only knew what I was really talking about. This book was young and fun. It was filled with drama and it had some of the hottest lovin' scenes I've ever read. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Ford and Sky. There was a lot of "lovin' " scenes...Maybe a few to many but they were well written and sexy. What a great book about family, love, and following your heart. It doesn't matter what people go thru in life...they can always find their way out and find the positive. Amazing read an I can't wait to read more from Jennifer Foor. I think she is gonna be one of my favorite authors if anything else she puts out is like this. Ah-Maz-ing!!! Oh an I just want to say that I loved Skys parents...especially her dad. It's how parents should be with their children...supportive and trusting and not judgmental.
I loved it especially if you want ALOT of sex! Ford Cooper, with his sexy southern accent, and his oh so sexual appetitite will be enough to argue why every female should consider driving a Ford.
PRECISION: the quality or state of being precise : EXACTNESS
ACCURACY: freedom from mistake or error : CORRECTNESS
SPEED: swiftness or rate of performance or action : VELOCITY
Amazingly sexy, steamy and just plain freaking HOT, that is Ford Cooper. Jennifer Foor has done it again. This book was awesome and beautifully written. Loved the characters of Sky & Ford and seeing how their story unfolds. Can't wait for Shayne's story.
I am a huge fan of Jennifer Foor, The Mitchell family series is my favorite series to date. I am in love with her cocky arrogant but sexy as hell men! Ford was a different character in my opinion. I couldn't help compare him to the Mitchell guys. I know, it's a different series but I kind missed the maturity that I was used do with her guys. Ford was cocky and arrogant yes but he seemed a lot less mature then I'd have liked. This is New Adult and I love New Adult. I just felt a small disconnect with these characters. I still couldn't put this book down and I pretty much devoured it. The smoking hot sex scenes helped keep this at a solid 4 star for me. I am and always will be a Jen Foor fan and hope to see more from this series. She has a great knack for character growth in her series. Each book in the Mitchell family got better than the last so I expect great things.
Just a few things to get off my chest about the cover!!! If I never read any of Jennifer's books I honestly would not had guessed that this book would be filled with so much drama. Her "Mitchell Fam" series covers just scream sexiness, and you just know there will be drama. I admit, I am a book cover judger. All the "bad book cover" books I come across and have read, are all because of good reviews. But I have also read really AWESOME books with ugly covers, and it is very unknown to the readers of the world.......so I guess my point is to get a cover that just screams "READ ME". It's not just this book, sorry that I had to do my rant for this book, but the time just came. --ok book cover rant over--
I mentally prepared myself before starting this book, because I know from past experience that Jennifer knows how to work up my emotions. I know their not major compared to other angst-filled books, but it's still pretty up there on MY list.
So this was one of those books where the 2 main characters are from very different life styles. Though they live very different lives, it wasn't THAT HUGE of a big problem for them in this book. Let me just say that.
For a little summary... just read the blurb
Anyways the MAIN problem of the book would have to be Ford's ex-girlfriend, Ashley. I won't spoil anything just go into detail about their characteristics/ personality.
Ford is honestly a really nice guy. His deceased sister was really close friends with Ashley when she was still alive. I actually do believe that Ashley was genuinely a nice(?), okay, person back then. I only say this because Ashley was not that psycho, crazy, uuuh scary compared to other exes in other books.
Though Ashley does later on become more bitchy since Ford will not take her back. Ford is really a great guy. Though Ashley was bitchy, and causes scenes, and causes trouble, he didn't want to have to put Ashley through the pain of watching him with Sky. OF course that does change later on, but still a good thought to have.
Sky is pretty normal, as far as I can tell. She did stand up for herself at one point, so good for you sky!!!
I did like this story, it did go through of a roller coaster. Nothing major, nothing I couldn't handle.
Though I must admit, I'm actually not as hyped up for Shayne and Lacy's book, as I would be for other continuation couples in other series'. Maybe if I were to hear more about them in this book I might have.
was there cheating in this book??
Hmm I can't seem to find any gifs that just fit this review.. so sorry for boring gif-less review
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I have a secret…come closer…I have an addiction. To Jenn Foor…and her books. Repair Me (The Kin Series) did not disappoint.
I will admit I was a smidge worried as I started this book. Pretty different from her other books. That concern was gone by Chapter 2.
The Cast If Characters~
Sky-Mack breaks her heart so she wants to get away. On the way to the beach, her friends and fruity drinks her car breaks down. Enter Ford.
Ford- Angry and a bit heart broken. Not over a girl. And not a good combo. He has the weight of the world on his shoulders working with his dad to save their garage. Lost his sister and his mom is MIA. A drug addict. When he meets Sky he decides to go for it. Act his age, hookup with no strings. He just has to convince Sky.
Ashley-hate her. Conniving crazy beeyotch. And immature. The bed is all I have to say-YUCK!
Mack- Dick. Only cares about what he wants.
Laney-Didn’t love her at first but i cam e around. Loyal to Sky. I am worried that Shayne is going to break Laney’s heart…
Shayne-Not sure what to think about him. Seemed like a good guy, but he has too many secrets.
Fortunately for Sky and Ford there is INSTA-lust! They find an out of control passion that they are very willing to explore. This is completely out of the norm- especially for Sky. The sex scenes-whoa! Intense, steamy and HOT!
But even better was their connection. Neither was looking for it and as they are honest with themselves they realize they can’t let go. They don’t want to let go. Just one more day, one more touch, one more kiss until the promise of only only more is not enough.
No way is their path easy. This is Jenn Foor-Queen of family drama! And damn there is tons of drama. At first I was worried that it would break Sky and Ford. But Sky and Ford want the connection too much. They are happier than they imagined- and what they give each other helps them repair their own hearts and lives. Together the calm balances the passion and allow them both grow and love.
Was very happy with the end-and look forward to their continued story in the next of the Kin Series.
I want to start off by saying ... I love when a series contains different characters in each book ... it's great to see characters in the previous book revisited but with all these cliff-hangers it's nice to see how the story line comes together at the end of a book!!!!
With that said ... this book was completely hot, fun and a little bitch all rolled into one.
Sklyar
The beautiful blonde co-ed who thought she had it all, until she found out that her long-time boyfriend was actually a cheating, piece-of-crap. Running away from her heart-break, she runs directly into a hot-piece-of-ass.
Ford
He's hot, he's tatted and he's given up his entire life for his family. Depressed and angry when he runs into a damsel in distress on the side of the road. They both need to forget their problems, the chemistry between these two are off the charts.
If she thought her cheating ass boyfriend had the ability to break her heart, Ford had the ability to shatter it.
Wow!!! All I can say is hot and steamy! This book reminds me alot of Fifty Shades, and when I say this is because they get busy alot throughout the entire book. Don't worry though, there is alot of other things besides the hot steamy sex that they have.
Sky, is broken after finding out her long time boyfriend cheated on. Determined to move on to find ways to forget about him she does thing she normally won't do. She's beautiful, adventurous, very kind, and very generous.
Ford, is super HOT! Also with a past that has changed him and has hurt him in so many ways he has alot of baggage and ends up taking responsibilities for his father who has become a drunk after his mother leaves them. Always thinking of his dad and how he needs to be there for him since he's hit rock bottom.
I overall loved this book. I would have to say it was one of my favorites that I have read in awhile. There's alot of sex in it however there is so much more drama and twist that keeps this book interesting. This book shows you that you will work and fight hard for who you love and will not let anything get in the way. It shows you that you can take a chance and to keep what is truly meant to be yours!
Grrr...This book started out so well. Sky was devastated when she saw photographic evidence of her boyfriend's betrayal. Needing a weekend away from college and from the cheating asshole she decides to pack up her car and meet her friends at the beach. As if her luck couldn't get any worse her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. But things perk up when a sexy country boy named Ford gives her a tow. Her car will take several days to fix so Ford extends his hospitality and lets her stay at his apartment. Things go from flirty to hot and heavy quickly. They both know the score - just a few days of fun, nothing serious.
From there it just gets so messy. Ashley is a complete psycho. Ford is an idiot. After his and Sky's weekend together he lost me. Sky was a doormat. Some of Ford's bad decisions I could understand but Sky should have told him to save his drama for his mama and never looked back. What a mess. And in the end it was all pointless.
This book just pissed me off. But since I'm a glutton for punishment I'll be reading Replace Me. Shayne has been a naughty boy and I do want to see where his story goes.
Absolutely loved it! I can always count on getting my sexy southern hottie fix fro Jennifer's books... yum yum yum. Ford starts out looking like a womanizer, but he is not, but the one night stand turns into days, and both Ford and Sky get hooked. Ashley is a bitch like no other, and her Dad is a sleazy government offical... dont like either of them. Ford is so dedicated to family he takes care of his Dad, rescues his Mom and stands up for Sky when Mac turns into super jerk. He agrees to be with Ashley because of the baby, didn't believe it was his anyway, but then accepts that he deserves to be happy and goes to Sky.
The accident was scary but glad that Ford was ok, and not surprised with Ashley, her Dad's, or Sky's actions.. Sky loves him that much. Her Dad was wonderful to her and Ford. Fantastic ending, and looking forward to the next book.
Oh yes, the sex, phew what can I say, Jennifer is an EXPERT at writing the most sexy, steamy, feel it is happening to you sex scenes.... worth reading all her work for that alone! :-)
Oh lord Ford!! This was an interesting/odd/hot story. I read it in a few hours I think. It was oddly captivating, if that makes sense. Sky is torn up after finding out her boyfriend is cheating. She decides to road trip to the beach for spring break to see her friends. Along the way she breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Hello Ford ;) Ford is living in a small town working as a mechanic in his dad's shop. His mom bailed and his dad fell apart, so he drops out of college to help his dad. Sky and Ford decide to hook up knowing it's just a release. But oh boy, Ford is one helluva stud! I just loved his character. He deserved so much more from life. He was actually quite smart but he sounded like a country bumpkin at times :). Sky and Ford liked each other more than as a hook up. There were a few hiccups along the way but I got a sweet HEA.
Some of my fav. Quotes and some of my thoughts while reading this book;
9.0% "I'll fuck you so good that the only car you'll ever drive will be a ford, because you'll never stop thinkin' about me"
55.0% “We’d drained all of our energy and neither of us wanted to admit what was really happening between us, yet I think we both knew the truth. I could see myself falling hard for Sky and I could only hope that she was going to do the same with me. God knows I didn’t deserve her, but while I had her, I wasn’t going to let anything come in between us again.
93.0% “That money I used was from my grandmother. She gave it to me when she died and said it was for my future.” “Why would you use that money for me, then? That’s what I’m pissed about.” “I used it because you are my future. Don’t you get that?”
Oh my Gawwwwd! Ok so Jennifer Foor is one of my favorite authors, I absolutely love The Mitchell Family Series and have now fallen in love with The Kin Series. I really enjoyed reading Repair Me, I didn’t want to put it down and was so mad that I had to go to work and couldn’t finish it in one sitting. I love the way Jennifer Foor writes, her characters and story lines are so real and grab you from start to finish. Ford and Sky’s story had me on the edge from the beginning wondering if they were going to get their happily ever after. Sexy, hot, and steamy and a love that was meant to be but was challenged left and right! Did they get their HEA? I totally can not tell you, you have to read the book it is soooooo good and I can’t wait for book 2.
Ugh. This book. This book really ticked me off. I am not even rating it because its such crap! I would have DNF'ed it earlier in the book but once I realized the location of the book I had to continue in hopes that the author would rectify herself.
This book does not really say where it's located. Only mentioning in the beginning riding through the sticks to get to the beach. The author gives this country road type of town with no cell phone service anywhere and hillybilly hicks in their cowboy hats saying Darlin and driving their big trucks. Then I read how the lower parts of Maryland are only good for the ride to the beach, and how Sky grew up in Easton, Maryland and I quickly realize that the author is referring to MY BEACH! And this hillybilly back road no cell service hick town must be MY TOWN. And boy oh boy did that irate the crap out of me!!!!!
Yes, we have corn fields and chicken houses. No, we don't all wear cowboy hats and spit our tobacco at hot girls. No, we don't have hick southern accents. No, we don't all drive trucks blaring country music from only radio station in town. No, we are not poor farmland and run down businesses. AND YES WE HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This book is incredibly sexy and has a wonderful story with fantastically well developed characters, the plot holds you captive until the very last page.
Sky is a great heroine who is strong and knows her own mind, she is no wilting wall flower and i really liked her. After receiving explicit photo’s of her boyfriend and two other girl she decides to pack up and head for the beach to get away from it all, and ends up running her car into a field in the need of rescue which comes in the form of tatted hottie Ford, and so the fun begins!
Ford has had it tough, his mum left and is a druggy, he had to drop out of collage when his sister died to help his dad who turned to drink after there painful loss, and he has a ex girlfriend who is bat shit crazy and wont leave him alone. Ford’s life has been on hold for so long he just wants something for himself.
Sky and Ford decide to hook up as a one time stress reliever while her car is being fixed, but from the moment these two meet there is nothing but hot steamy raw chemistry and they cant keep there hands off of each other. The sex scenes are very well written and the connection between Sky and Ford develops into much more than just a one time thing, but the more they want to be together the more Ford ex seems to want them apart. To be truthful i hated Ashley (Ford’s ex) on sight from the very first meeting i just knew she was going to be one of those girls who needed a good beat down. She’s a scheming spiteful nasty bitch to her core.
As the story develops you just fall deeper in love with both main characters, they have such a connection. The more you find out about Ford’s past and the things he has given up, and is willing to give up for the people he loves it just pulls at your heart strings.
This book has so much drama, and you will go from happy to feeling sad then back to happy, then wanting to give that beat down. Repair me is a fantastic journey and have loved the ride!
I want more from Jennifer Foor and am looking forward to the next book in the Kin series.
As you all know, when I’m reviewing a book I’m big on storyline, character development and connection not only between the characters, but connecting with the book as well.
As far as sexual chemistry, Sky and Ford had it in spades. Every time they looked at one another they were either undressing each other with their eyes or bumping uglies like Jack rabbits. This book definitely didn’t lack in the sex department. You were left with nothing less than pure blissful satisfaction, definitely no problem there.
Though Sky and Ford got off on the wrong foot in the beginning, you were able to see how there could be a connection between them once they started opening up to each other and realized they had quite a bit in common. I felt a bit torn because for me, their connection felt more rushed than natural.
Sadly that is kind of how I felt about Repair Me overall. The storyline was good but too much was happening too fast. Every time I would start to connect with the book and really get into it, another scenario was thrown at me to deal with but there wasn’t enough time before the book ended for it to feel natural. Either the book needed to be longer or some of the situations needed to be left out in order for the story to develop naturally and really be able to sink your teeth into the book.
Honestly, the whole thing felt a bit too vulgar for me. I'm still kind of shocked I got through the whole thing. If you take out all the sexual content b/w Sky and Ford, the story probably would not work. There would basically be no story.
So for that, I just couldn't rate this higher than 2 stars.
Still, I guess the sex was hot? And again, there was a lot of it. Sooooo if you're in the mood, I'd say go for it. Otherwise, this book might be a bit too vulgar and repulsive for some.
I just personally couldn't buy into the whole one night stand "agreement" b/w Sky and Ford. Blah.
I just... I don't really know what to say, other than:
Holy hotness in a hand basket!! I think my sweat was sweating while reading this book! Umm, Ford is my all new book boyfriend! Good gravy that man oozes sexiness! And Sky is my new girl crush! Do I believe in love at first sight? Damn straight! Do I believe people can have a good relationship after a first night hook up? Again...damn straight! These two have the hottest connection ever! And I have read some steamy books! I love a story of soul mates searching for one another and having to jump barriers to be with each other. And there are definitely some barriers in this book! Ashley...bleh, hate her with a vengeance! So glad karma met her >:) I am a proud believer in the Mitchell Family by Jennifer Foor, but the Kin Series is ranking right up there with them! Yeesh, I can't wait to get my hands on book 2! (And I have no idea why I waited so long to read book 1!!!)
I personally found it very hard to connect with Ford. I love reading about arrogant yet sexy players because they always seem a little lovable or just have something about them that you want to find out more about. I did not get that sense from Ford. I just found him plain arrogant in a way that wasn't that likable and I didn't want to find out more about him.
Don't let my review stop you from reading this book, as it seems like a lot of other people enjoyed it. This is only my personal opinion.
