“What gives you a thrill Kristen?”

I knew that giving in to Vincent Sorenson was a risk, but it was one I was willing to take. I had hidden my heart for so long and for the first time in a long time, Vincent was close to breaking down the walls.

When a trip to Vincent’s exclusive private island reveals the real Vincent underneath the layers of suave nonchalance, I thought we were close to the start of something special.

Just when things were looking up for us, I would discover the one secret that Vincent never intended for me to find.

★★★★! Secret Surrender, book 2 of 3. A fast-paced, sexy feel good-read about a tattooed surfer turned self-made Billionaire in hot pursuit of his off-the-limits wealth manager!

“Thank you,” I said, holding my hands behind my head, hoping my hair hid the fact that my wrists were bound together with seat belt straps.”

Books in the Surrender series should be read in order:
Book 1: Forbidden Surrender
Book 2: Secret Surrender
Book 3: Beautiful Surrender

In Forbidden Surrender (book 1) wealth manager Kristen Daley pitched tattooed surfer turned self-made Billionaire Vincent Sorenson on letting her company invest his fortune. Kristen strived to maintain a professional relationship while Vincent zeroed in on seduction…

In Secret Surrender (book 2) Vincent and Kristen are working together while secretly embarking on a romantic and sexual relationship. Follow them on clandestine meetings, cyber sex and weekend escapes on his private jet…

Just as their relationship was progressing well, but with the dialogue feeling stilted at times and story becoming predictable we are thrown for a twist. One I hadn’t anticipated, but very much enjoyed. To top it off book 2 ended with a cliffy, but no worries as book 3, Beautiful Surrender is already available.

 photo WestSurrender1-3HerobySueBee_zpsde92ecf4.jpg

Underneath the Armani suit we have a bit a bad boy with tattoos and piercings but mostly an honorable man. Seven words to describe Vincent: Relentless, charming, noble, driven, thrill-seeker, reasonable and complex.

 photo WestSurrender1-3HeroinebySueBee_zps572b16b2.jpg

Though there are mitigating circumstances to Kristin Daley’s sometimes meek, insecure and predictable behavior I still haven’t been able to connect with her. Seven words to describe Kristen: Smart, indecisive, stubborn, insecure, ambitious, predictable and endearing.

Fast-paced and entertaining, albeit predictable plot! Interesting and charming alpha hero! A quick, sexy and feel-good read!

In Secret Surrender Vincent takes Kristen on a gorgeous date to his exclusive private island. They learn more about each other and spend some much needed quality time together.

Will it be love in paradise?
Are there people who could come between them and destroy their world?
Does Kristen fit into his world?

"He would always want more."

Vincent is smooth, he knows exactly what to say and do. I didn't see any evidence of him being a playboy but I really enjoyed his billionaire, sexy character, non the less.

Kristen continued to be her clever, smart, articulate, and beautiful self.

If I'm honest not a great deal happens in part two of this series until almost the end of the book. However, it showcases their relationship together beautifully and there's lots of lovely HOTNESS to enjoy, that was yummy!!

Personally, I'd have liked Vincent or Kristen to hold out a little, I needed more drama between them to turn up the angst factor. There was some but I needed a whole lot more.

The timeline of certain parts of the story seemed a little inconsistent to me? The way Vincent and Kristen spoke to each other sometimes suggested they have more history together, when they really don't. It was days/weeks.... and for a lot of that, they were apart.

Secret Surrender finishes on an OMG!!! I was so glad to have book 3 ready and waiting on my kindle. I needed to dive right in and discover where their story went.... I may have a few gripes but Vincent and Kristen have drawn me into their world and I long to see them have their happy ever after. I hope it's possible.

2 Mischievous stars!

So in this book Vincent and Kristen relationship continues in secret but as the time passes and things between them get more serious, obstacles will appear in their way making Kristen re-thing if all of that (especially being fired in case of getting caught!).
Not only that but Vincent starts to behave strangely and Kristen starts to thing that he may not be as honest as he seemed.

Okay, I’m going to be very quick on this one. Too many books and too little time to lose on reviews of books that I definitely didn’t love.
This story, although entertaining, was (again!) too short and lacking depth. There was small details that made me lower its rating: first, the event that made the book end in a cliff-hanger that was an unoriginal and obvious misunderstanding.
Second, a very obvious opening for an , thing that I HATE and always make me lose interest in a book.
Unfortunately, this was a bit of disappointment from the first book. Meh.

Well, this book was hot.I seriously love Vincent and I love how much he cares about Kristen and her safety. On the other hand,I was a bit irritated that Kristen didn’t think that Marty is a real threat.I mean, she’s been having nightmares about him and she has basically left everything to run from him and now she’s super chill when she finds out that he’s been looking for her and she gets angry at Vincent for telling her to take care of herself. This girl is crazy.I understand the jealousy when it comes to Ariel and Vincent’s famous tattoo but that text message? OBVIOUSLY SOME KIND OF JOKE.Her self esteem is so low that she flips out whenever Vincent speaks to another woman.Instead of thinking about shielding herself from Marty all she can think about is “Oh,I bet his cheating on me right now!” or “He never has enough time for me!”.

description

So yeah,if it wasn’t for Vincent and his constant kindness and tenderness,I would’ve give up on this one.Hope that they’ll somehow make things work in the last book.

3 More Fun and Skype Hotness Stars

This is the second book in the three part series Surrender. The focus is whether these two characters can develop a relationship. They have a few hurdles to overcome.

She is his requested contact at the firm managing his wealth...which if their dating becomes public knowledge, it could jeopardize her credibility in landing the account. Although it is not against company policy, she does have real concerns and that plays a part in how the both of them interact. They are keeping it on the down-low for now.

Our CEO is working hard to show our gal how taken he is with her. He is a busy man with serious business obligations around the world, so finding time to be together is now a factor.

Thank Goodness for Skype, heh heh....Need I say more???

Other things happen, a reveal of abusive behavior of an ex for our gal sets off actions which may come back and haunt our Alpha. Also we meet the long time woman from his life...and it was the catalyst for a difficult confrontation for both of them.

This part had more moving parts and ramps up to the third installment with a big Cliffy...

Off to read the last part....

I have to say not much happened in this book besides sex. Vincent and Kristen are having lots of sex in the beginning stages of their relationship, but the also get to know each other a bit more. Vincent is a busy man and is constantly traveling in order to make his business successful. One trip in particular, they agree to Skype with each other and oh how quickly that went from flirting to something much hotter!

Vincent then takes Kristen to his private island. Yes, that's right, his very own island. I would fall in love right away if I were Kristen. And so the sex continues...almost on the plane, at night near the bonfire and under a waterfall. It all seems so surreal. However the mood is soured a bit when they run into an old girlfriend of Vincent's on the mainland. Ariel Diamond is a surfer and a model, which makes Kristen feel twice as jealous, especially when she finds out the diamond tattoo Vincent has is for Ariel.

Once they get back from the island, Vincent is traveling more than ever. Things seem strained between them. Kristen decides to treat Vincent to a nice dinner and confront him with her feelings. Better to nip this in the bud now rather than letting it fester and ruin anything they may have. Unfortunately, dinner doesn't turn out as planned. While Vincent is in the bathroom, he gets a text from Ariel that Kristen can't help but read as it pops up on the screen. This text turns everything upside down. Could Vincent be cheating or is the ex-girlfriend trying to come between Vincent and Kristen? This situation has got Kristen so upset that she doesn't pay attention and opens the door to her ex- abusive boyfriend, Marty. He found her and now she has no where to run.

What's going to happen next? I enjoyed the second part to this trilogy. The drama at the end was a bit cliche, but nonetheless I'm off to read Beautiful Surrender to see how this story ends. I have a feeling between Ariel and Marty there is going to be lots of drama.

****4 SEX BY SKYPE STARS****

Book provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book in the series "Surrender" and we continue the romance between Kristen and Vincent.

There were a few scenes in this book that had my panties getting moist - that infamous sex scene in front of the computer was the BEST!!

Kristen and Vincent are getting serious now but Vincent continues to travel outside the continent and Kristen tries to deal with it along with her promotion in the firm and we can't forget about her anxiety over Marty showing back up.

Vincent takes Kristen away for a romantic weekend but then a secret from Vincent's past shows up and makes Kristen question the stability of their relationship.

They are both trying to make this work but it seems that fate has another idea in mind....

And we can't forget about the shit which happens at the end to really make Kristen lose it....and then......MAJOR CLIFFHANGER

OK...when is the next book coming out?? I need to know what happens next!!!

In Secret Surrender we find Vincent and Kristen still exploring their relationship and fully enjoying every inch of each other. Kristen’s guard continues to lower and Vincent continues to say and do all the right things.

As we watch Vincent and Kristen get to know each other a little bit better different things begin to surface that has Kristen second guessing herself. Her feelings for Vincent are growing and she certainly cannot deny the sexual chemistry they have between them but does she really fit into his world.

 photo gah_zps3556ca5d.jpg

Vincent once again whisks Kristen off for another night in paradise on a private island. This is when they both explore each other sexually and personally. Inviting Kristen into one of his homes exposes a little bit of his private life and she is happy about that. But Kristen also finds herself meeting someone from Vincent’s past. This doesn’t go all that well. Let’s just say, jealousy and female insecurities are not pretty.

These two are definitely HOT together, the cyber sex, the rendezvous by the fire and who doesn’t love a little chocolate syrup. :) But something was just a bit off for me. I was hoping for a little more resistance from Kristen, maybe more of a chase and a little more angst. We do get some angst but for me it was a little predictable.

These few things didn’t ruin the book for me; I just would have enjoyed it a little more.

I still love both of them and I have definitely been sucked into their world!

And as I was turning the last few pages, I was thinking this better not end like I think it is going to end. Then I said “OH CRAP”!!!! I am so glad I have book 3 waiting on my kindle. I am keeping my fingers crossed for these two. I need to know what happens next. ❤

I am really enjoying these installments, love seeing how Vincent and Kristen work on their relationship, work on building trust as well as overcoming insecurities and obstacles that come with a new relationship- especially with Vincent being so busy all the time.

THE SEX IS HOT, however I could do with less talking on their parts and more doing! Still it was HOT!

Just when everything is going well, in comes Ariel! Not this cutie.....

description

But an ex of Vincent bent on causing havoc!! All is explained though not to my or Kristen's satisfaction!! We are not happy but we will let it go for now!!

THEN a freaking cliffhanger!

Well done Ms West, the next installment can't come soon enough!

As Vincent and Kristen’s relationship continues, both in business and behind closed doors, past are beginning to be revealed and insecurities are beginning to be exposed.

So this is the part of the series where things get ramped up a bit and some key plot points begin to take shape. The only problem is as that is happening, Kristen becomes a bit too insecure and immature.

Again, original read was entertaining but the flavor was tainted by the third book and my reactions to the story that we end up with.

Another short review for this book. I find this an okay read. It's not as entertaining as the first one and this one is a meh to me. I didn't feel the chemistry between these two and hoping for more twist but...meh. It ended up with a cliffhanger... pfft.

I'm on the almost-good-part. Oh well.

This series is becoming better and better!

In the first book I thought it was a bit quick, that I needed more... but now I can understand why Mrs. West is doing the division of the serie like this.

In the first one you meet Kristen and Vincent, and you can understand a little bit of their story.

In this one, things get hotter, the story gets a new perspective... and the end, lets you needing the next book ASAP.

I can tell I was more intrigued for what would happen next, I can tell I suffered a bit more with their fights... and the sex scenes... WOWWWW!!
HOT OR HOTTER THAN BEFORE!

Why not 5 stars?

Only because of the beginning of the book. Was a bit slow for me. I like a good drama, and I like to feel what they're feeling, and with this book, it only came after 40% of the story.

I can not wait to read the third book in the series... This finale left me open-mouthed.

First Thoughts

Wow, wow, wow! These books were smokin' hot! I couldn't get enough! I read all three books back to back until late last night. When my boss asked me why I looked so tired today, I giggled and thought of Vincent Sorenson.

What I Enjoyed

Vincent obviously cares for Kristen. It's not just sex, guys. He really cares about her! I laughed so hard whenever Kristen passed her "new neighbors" in the hall. Unbeknownst to her, they were actually bodyguards Vincent hired to protect her from her psychotic and abusive ex-boyfriend.

That island, though. Ok, forreal, I'd die if the guy I was dating had a private island next to St. Lucia. I'd seriously freakin' die.

What Could Have Been Better

Kristen's whininess. I grew tired with her complaints: Vincent is working too much, woe is me I haven't talk to Vincent in 5 days, Vincent hasn't called me, why does Vincent take a half hour to respond to my texts. Omgsh, get a grip Kristen! He warned her before their very first date! She knew he worked long hours and took business trips galore! You can't complain about what you knew you were getting yourself into!

***I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book through Netgalley.com in exchange for honest feedback.***

Picking up right where book 1 left off, 'Secret Surrender' continues to follow the growing relationship between Kristen and Vincent. This book was more heartfelt and emotional than the first, as the two begin to experience some growing pains and encounter their first difficulties as a couple. With Vincent's ex now entering the fray, Kristen's insecurities rise to the surface. Her own ex is still lingering in the background, but surprisingly, didn't play as big of a role in this book as I had anticipated.

All else aside, I am still enjoying this story. No, it isn't the best I've read, but it is a quick, straightforward love story. No surprises here, just a nice, heartwarming read.

I don’t even know where to start *sighs* Oh man. I’m going to try to keep this short and not too negative.

This book was so freaking long. And I feel like nothing important happened. Near the ending it started to be more eventful and just when it started to be very interesting… bam. The end. Cliffhanger. UGH. I feel so frustrated right now, because I KNOW this could have been so much better.

Priscilla is a good writer when it comes to romances and chemistry between two people, but for some reasons her sequels are kind of boring. Forbidden Surrender was good, exciting, eventful, swoon-worthy, etc.… This sequel is barely sexy or exiting, it’s feels extremely long and often boring. I had the same problem with Reckless and Fearless. Is it just me? Or does someone else think the same way? I KNOW Priscilla is capable to write an amazing story, but I just got frustrated with this book.

Kristen started to annoy me in this book too. She got so whiny ughhhh. Vincent was kind of a *** sometimes, but I still liked him. I mean, he IS still a bad-boy.
I don’t know if I like Kristen and Vincent together anymore… It’s just weird. They are so different and Kristen really pissed me off when she started to whine about ‘feeling invisible’ and blah blah.

I know this is all very negative, but in some way I STILL liked the plot (more like ‘the big picture’). I’m still curious about Marty and whatever is going to happen. I really, really, hope the third book will be better!

Actual Rating: 3.5 stars.

I thought this book was better than the first installment though I still had some issues with it.

Character development was stronger in this book, mainly because it centers on Vincent and Kristen's romance. I enjoyed the world-building as Kristen was shown a taste of what it's like to date a wealthy, successful, man.

The romance is smokin' hot, just as I like it!

The main issues I had again were underdevelopment of the plot. Kurt and Bernie were so obvious it was almost laughable. Poor Riley is relegated to the sideline which was a shame as she seemed like an interesting character in the first book. Kristen's ex, Marty, makes an appearance but then disappears again. While Vincent took this seriously, Kristen was way too flippant. She'd been having nightmares about the guy for years and she was too easy-breezy about it.

The writing remains very good, but this series is still not hitting it's true potential in my opinion.

3.75 stars!

This book picked up where the first book left off. Kristen and Vincent's relationship is now progressing very rapidly despite her reservations. Vincent is a master of seduction and is not above using his charm and money to get what he wants.

For Kristen, it's becoming more and more clear that her carefully constructed defenses are no match for Vincent's charm. Just when everything is falling into place, secrets from Vincent's past is revealed that will test their relationship.

I liked this one slightly better than the first. Although, I must say, Kristen annoyed the heck out of me here. She was the one who was adamant about keeping Vincent at arm's length because of her past. But when Vincent's own past came knocking, she acted like a vindictive jealous bitch. But then, Vincent wasn't very forthcoming either. It would have saved them a world of hurt but hey, this is romance...I guess, a little angst does add a little pizzaz to a story. :)

I definitely liked this more than the first book. It seemed me mature than the before novel. or maybe a bit more in depth than the one before. I wouldn't exactly say that I loved it but I won't say I regret reading it either. Not even that I would say it would fall under my ok reads. Still while I was reading this, I was constantly reminded of Fifty Shades of Grey. This was a lot like that but without the S&M. This book I wouldn't mind recommending to someone else but the before one not too sure. But I think Priscilla West definitely improved :) Looking forward to reading the Third book.

Priscilla West sure knows how to keep a reader entertained and coming back for more. Just when things are getting shocking and juicy, she cuts you off so you are desperate to get your hands on the next book. Sneaky sneaky!

Kirsten's and Vincent's relationship takes off. She airs out all her ditty laundry and he falls for her more. But they still must keep their relationship a secret due to work.
With her promotion and him expanding his business, that leaves little time for them to be together.

But once they are together things are explosive. Love takes over and they finally put a title to their relationship. She finally ties him down to one woman. Well, that's what she thinks.

He wines and dines her on his private island and them jealousy hits. He meets his gorgeous ex-girlfriend and Kristen plays twenty question, not really wanting to hear the answers.

Can Vincent be a one woman man? And can Kristen put away her claws long enough to enjoy this fresh start to a relationship?
I really can't get enough of this series. Really well written and I even chuckle a few times.
Right after the completion is this, I went online and ordered the shit out of this.

I can see myself drinking a lot and reading this book out loud to my husband.

I don't know how to really write a review for this book. I feel like it could have been a good story in the beginning but it slowly just wasn't for me. Mainly because of Kristen.

I've never been more irritated with a character ever. In the beginning she was all, "I can't sleep with you because of my job." but Vincent was more persistant than she thought he would be and she finally gave in. it thought the story was really going to pick up then, but instead she turned into a jealous, whiney, and insecure mess. I really could go on and on about how much I didn't like her, but I won't. I can't even say how many times I just thought, "Screw it I can't keep being in this chicks head." but I kept pushing on.

Vincent kept acting like he was hiding a secret, I kept waiting and waiting, but when it was revealed it wasn't much of anything at all. I actually thought, "That's it?". He kept being distant and because of his job would disappear at times for days or even a few weeks, of course Kristen was barely able to handle that and at the slightest mention of something that hinted at something else she would fly off the bat into her own conclusions and wouldn't even give Vincent the time to explain. ORRRR, at one time, they had only been together for a couple of weeks and she went into nagging 25 questions match and demanded what status they were with the water works going. I WANTED TO SCREAM.

I hate writing bad reviews, really I do. And I know somewhere on the other side of this is an author who has feelings who poured her heart and time into this. I mean no disrespect whatsoever, I just didn't like being in Kristen's head. I like to think of it like if I met her in real life we just couldn't be friends because she (Kristen) would drive me insane. Vincent was hot, I just think he could've done better than Kristen. I have no idea what he saw in her.

In Secret Surrender, we pick up pretty much were book one left off, with these two trying to have a relationship while Kristen is settling in to her new position asan asset manager and Vincent is traveling th world introducing his newest surf board in the company line, Skype and texts become these two's life line , in more ways then one, I will, never think of Skype the same way again!
When Vincent comes back to the states again he can not wait to get Kristen alone and whisks her away to his private island , and these two get to know one another even better on both an emotional level and a physical level. The weekend is going wonderfully a nice cruise on his boat the " Peir Pleasure" lunch on a different island and the. After unfortunately one of Vincent's secrets revealed and it's name is Ariel! Let's just say Kristens green monster shows up! Along with her insecurities once again. But what she does not realize is that the only women Vincent really sees. Is her, because he was the billionare surfer with all the women he could want, but not anymore but keeping their relationship a secret is starting to take its toll emotionally and mostly on her.

Kristens old trouble shows up and leaves us with a cliff hanger, have the next book ready to read!

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for a review.

3.25 stars.
I'm having a difficult time rating this book. If you're looking for a steamy romance, then this is for you. If you are looking for a huge addition to this series, then turn away. This installment does very little for the story line. Yes, the characters become a bit closer--you can tell because they're having sex for the majority of the book--and they have a few struggles along the way. An ex-girlfriend of Vincent's shows up while Vincent and Kristen are on a romantic getaway. This is obviously an issue for Kristen since her relationship with Vincent is still new. On the other side, we see virtually nothing of Kristen's dangerous ex-boyfriend, despite his role in Kristen's past and his appearance in the first book.

This book isn't bad, but I find that it could have been included in the first book. I understand the appeal of stretching stories out into multiple books, but for this story it almost seems unnecessary. Put them all together, charge a bit more, and then have one good book. Why can't books like this just be standalone books? Why the need to spread out the story?

Priscilla West's books are so easy to read.

This is the second book in the series and is a continuation of Kristen and Vincent's story. And what a great instalment it was.

After the mentioning of Marty in the first book, I was expecting and hoping that there would be some drama involving him in this one. Throughout the whole story I was filled with suspense, waiting for him to get involved. I had to wait till the last page...which I would have been annoyed at if not for that ending. I'm now expecting great things from the final book (not only with Marty but other things I have thoughts on as well- Is Kristen pregnant??? There must be some, hopefully dark, secret Vincent is hiding. The new neighbours???).

Secret Surrender was an okay read but I didn't love it. I didn't remember what happened in the previous book but it wasn't bothering me much. The sex scenes between Vincent and Kristen were hot. The turn of events was predictable though, and I'm a little upset because of Ariel and 'Vinny'. I don't usually like that kind of plot because I can feel a little jealous for the heroine. There are also hints of a future , and I'm not sure if that's something I want to see in this series. Mmh, we'll see.

Hmmmmm

This book felt like a filler, I mean the writing was superb, as with the last book but there wasnt too much storyline?

The sex was hot, but the storyline lacking........

After reading the blurb- I thought Vincent was going to have some deep dark secret that Kristen would unlock- but all she discovered was he used to have a girlfriend??

Clearly the riding COCK is some sort of surfboard........

If she ends up pregnant in the last book I'll be peeved off- as a good story has now become predictable

I received a digital copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The writing has improved. However, Kristen is still annoying and full of jealousy towards other women.

Secret Surrender by Priscilla West
Book #2: Forever Series
Source: Netgalley
My Rating: 4/5 stars
My Review:

**CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR BOOK #1**

Secret Surrender opens exactly where book one ended, with Kristen tucked safely into Vincent’s arms and life. Waking up to Vincent is something Kristen could certainly get used to but things can’t always be sunshine and unicorns and book two certainly throws some kinks into the budding relationship.

Kristen is still very much all about the discretion but never getting to see Vincent because of work commitments is a little extreme. Vincent is the head of a billion dollar company and he is constantly on the move so alone time with a girlfriend isn’t always easy to come by. Additionally, Vincent’s business constantly puts him contact with some scantily-clad women which of course, causes Kristen’s level of anxiety to rise. Thanks to her past, Kristen has an incredibly difficult time trusting men and though she wants to trust Vincent, she finds it very difficult to do so given his schedule. The time apart is just as hard on Vincent and with Kristen’s past, his level of anxiety about leaving her is higher than normal.

Both Kristen and Vincent want to be together so when it’s possible, they make the time and make the most of the time they have. One of the more impressive and seriously hot moments for the duo involves some dirty cyber time and multiple orgasms. As if that weren’t enough, Vincent also whisks Kristen away to his private island for a weekend of fun, sun, boating, ex-girlfriends and, some really hot sex. As you might well imagine, the whole ex-girlfriend thing puts a serious damper on the weekend and causes Kristen’s insecurities to once again rise to the surface. Though Vincent assures her there is nothing to feel insecure and/or concerned about, Kristen is wary but willing to give her man the benefit of the doubt. As the weekend winds down, Vincent and Kristen leave paradise and return to the reality of their crazy lives.

As book two comes to a close, Kristen is finally allowing herself to trust Vincent and enjoy the crazy ride the two of them are on. In a moment of strength, Kristen decides to throw caution to the wind – discretion be damned! – and invites Vincent to an intimate dinner in the city. All is going well until Vincent excuses himself to go to the restroom and Kristen makes the mistake of looking at his cell phone. What Kristen sees shatters her trust, breaks her heart and causes her to run from Vincent as fast and as furiously as she can. Determined to ignore Vincent, Kristen turns off her cell phone and is fully prepared to yell at him and slam the door in his face when she makes the fateful decision open her apartment door without first looking to see who has come a calling.

The Bottom Line: Secret Surrender certainly does take everything up a notch. From the sex to the action, this book is filled with intense and highly charged moments that will have you flipping virtual pages as fast as you possibly can. As with book one, I am still head over heels for Vincent and loved getting more of his personal story in this read. Vincent doesn’t ever lie to Kristen and though his schedule is crazy and demanding he tells her clearly he is trying to make adjustments and allowances for her being in his life. Vincent’s actions support his words at every turn which leads me to the thing that brought this read down one star rating for me, Kristen. I will be the first to admit that I have no way of understanding the situation Kirsten has come out of and continues to deal with but her attitude gets damn old. Kristen is about as insecure as they come and doubts Vincent at every turn. She has a serious disregard for her personal safety and refuses to acknowledge that she has to deal with her past. Finally, Kristen has a tendency to overreact which causes far more drama than is necessary. Thankfully, Vincent is a patient and understanding man! As book two closes, things are certainly looking bleak for the couple and are about to get a whole lot worse. The final pages of this book are both sad and quite frightening as Kristen’s past literally knocks on her door.

“What gives you a thrill Kristen?”

When Kristen Daley meets Vincent Sorensen, she certainly gets more than what she bargained for. Kristen is a financial analyst trying to secure Vincent, a billionaire entrepreneur, as the newest client for the firm she works for. It will be a huge step for her career. She has researched everything she can about him and his company. He is a tattooed surfer who turned his love of extreme sports into a billion dollar company. She could never have predicted the physical effect he would have on her. She is immediately attracted to him and she can tell he feels the same way. She is reluctant to get involved with him for personal as well as professional reasons. However her resistance will only last for so long. She has been hurt in the past and does not want to jeopardize her career for some man.

In a genre that certainly is being done more and more, Ms. West manages to keep things fresh, original and exciting. Yes, Vincent is wealthy and a bit of a bad boy, but his attitude is refreshing. He is not a complete dominant alpha male, nor does he feel the need to know Kristen’s every move. Yes he is protective and definitely pursues her hard but he is not overbearing or controlling. Kristen is also not our typical damsel in distress type either. Yes she does have a past that comes back to haunt her, but she is not helpless.

The chemistry between these two is hot hot hot! Kristen has an uncontrollable physical reaction to Vincent when he is around. He feels the same way about her. For a man who could clearly have any woman, this is absolutely about more than sex for him. The sex scenes are great and manage to not be repetitive. They spend a lot of time apart so when they are able to be together things get hot. Fast.

I read all three novellas as if they were one book. I cannot say that I liked a certain one better than the rest. There is also a great story line written in between all the smoking hot love scenes. Kristen and Vincent do spend a lot of time apart so there are some misunderstandings but this really only fuel their desires for each other.

My only issue with the series was that the ending seemed a bit rushed. I felt that there could have been another book or at least a few more chapters added on.
