Very good book of a minister that, in my opinion is severely neglected in American history. Samuel Davies was a hymn writer, a Presbyterian minister, defender of liberty in colonial Virginia, an influence on the great Virginian Patrick Henry, a man that desired to educate and evangelize the American slaves and the fourth President of the College of New Jersey (Princeton University) all before dying at 37 years old. There is much more that can be said, but this biography does a very good job showing us who he was.
